PAYPAL'S A BUST, I'M USING STRIPE NOW (Clients please read!)
Posted 2 months agoSo due to Paypal being, well, Paypal, it has been two months and I have still not been given back my account.
So for the foreseeable future, I am now using Stripe, which is another payment service I can still send invoices through, which came recommended from good artists who avoid using paypal.
Should you want to commission me, it's very likely you will need to use a debit/credit card, but the good news is, you don't need a Stripe account. All I need is an email to send the invoice to, and you pay, and that's it!
Hopefully I will find some way to get Paypal back but for now, Stripe works perfectly fine. I apologise to everyone, I know some may not want to use debit/credit cards but if I had another option, I would use something else, but bottom line is, if I can't access Paypal, I can't use that convenience for anyone.
If anyone has any further concerns, you're welcome to send me notes, but I wanted to let everyone know their options before commissioning me again.

Posted 5 months agoSo, Paypal set up some new policies and long story short, I don't have the documents they wanted from me so they can further control my information because fuck this technofuture.
So my account has been deactivated until I get said documents, which will take at least a month, so unfortunately, I cannot take any payments until I a) get those documents, or b) find another site to take payments with.
I'm very sorry for everyone who has to wait longer on their commissions, I will try and fix this as soon as possible.

Should I Revise The FG Stories?
Posted 2 years agoI've been thinking about this for some time, and while it's probably a rather minor thing nowadays, I want to ask any of my readers out there.
Do you think I should revise the FG stories?
Primarily, this would involve "updating" the style to how I write nowadays, in order to help the stories flow better since in the past I tend to do a lot of repetition, doubling on phrases, not include actions within dialogue, and occasionally have used words in the past that are no longer acceptable.
On the one hand, it would make the stories cleaner and easier on the eyes. On the other hand, I worry that it would be "dishonest" since part of the way the stories are, is to show my development as a writer and how people can hopefully see my progression in shedding off mistakes.
If you all could give me some feedback on this, I would super appreciate it. As of now, I'm only removing slurs/inappropriate terms as I find them when rereading, and no this would not apply for the Oddclaw stories as 1. they take so much more time to edit, and 2. they're already at my current writing level.

Note on the New FA Rules (I'm Still Here!)
Posted 2 years agoAs some of you might have seen, FA are trying to desperately rewrite some rules concerning "child-like" or "child-proportioned" characters, and made an absolute fuckbungle of it.
From what I've seen, there has been basically no conference with artists for various styles such as chibi or those specialising in adult "shortstack" types. They admitted on their May 22nd update that it came when not all the mods were available, and as such made things more confusing.
But then the actual clarification came, and it's somehow WORSE. The real gem I love, to demonstrate the absolute hypocrisy is right here.
"Minors may not be fetishized. Minors younger than 13 may not be depicted as pregnant."
What? I really hope that was a typo, because whoever dares to draw a 14-year old pregnant lynx is gonna have a great argument set up ahead of them cuz last I checked, 14-17 year olds are still generally considered minors!

Okay, now THIS is funny, they actually did get their ass called out to now state:
"Content featuring minors is not allowed when the minor is in the presence of sexual activity, sexual objects, or nudity, though exceptions may be made for non-sexual depictions of birth and breastfeeding. Presence is defined as being in the same scene, such as sharing a comic panel, contiguous image, reference sheet, or specific section of a story where characters are engaging each other."
Okay, what possible exception is there for "non-sexual depictions of birth and breastfeeding"? Do they mean "as long as you never show the front side of the mother, it's fine"?
Luckily, I'm not affected, since the rules say nothing about writing, and they constantly talk about "proportions" which you can't really present in text form! It's like how Game of Thrones' novels can be sold on shelves despite featuring underaged sex and violence, it's not a visual medium so therefore it's only as perverted as the person reading it, and not the creator, irregardless of the context.
Which is itself a hypocritical mindset, and further proves to me that this is nothing about moral standards and kinkshaming. It's entirely about marketability, and trying to weirdly, make a furry site more appealing to investors.
Which flies in the face of everything that is furry, the whole point of our community is we are unmarketable, we are self-sufficient and keep our own economy rolling around in a circle.
It saddens me that artists are once again getting fucked over by this incredibly lazy rule, that casts too wide a net to catch a few tiny pervert fish, and end up strangling everyone else.
TL;DR, I'm not going anywhere, because FA has never given a shit about writers, so whatever characters I write about are still perfectly safe, because you can't see them if I write them.
That said, I do have a Sofurry account in case FA decides to go Furry Twitter (which makes the blue checkmark joke they did even sadder foreshadowing).

New commissions from March 2025 are now $10 per every 1000 words, with leeway up to the 500-word mark.
You can set a price/word limit, so for example, $50 will get you 5500 words maximum. I will only take payment after you have read and approved the story.
EDIT: Due to larger commissions taking a lot of time, I'm installing a new rule.
Any commission that is longer than 14,000 words, I will pause halfway through to prevent burnout and work on another, shorter commission amongst the queue. The commission WILL be finished, just with a break in order to ensure quality without exhaustion.
- I will NOT take cryptocurrency as payment. If you seriously try to offer it, I will immediately block and report you.
- I do NOT take payments in advance.

PC is broken, will be away for a month at most

My PC got roasted by a power surge and I have to use someone else's PC to keep up with pals, but my stories are pretty much on hold until the PC comes back. Hopefully it returns by August but no promises, I have to wait and see how the tech people handle it.

If I offered to write you a story with every 1000 words costing $1, would you consider that a good deal? Is that too steep or too cheap? I generally work by page length but I found my average hit-out of word length in a single narrative-heavy page is 900-1000 words.

SO, some notes of importance about the FinalGamer stories:
1 - As of chapter 21 of Mushrooms, Turtles and Pipes, we are quite LITERALLY halfway through the Chronicles of FinalGamer. Yes guys, there really is that much more story to go and I really hope you all come along for the ride.
2 - I'm going to take a break for now and just let things settle, update some art of FG and co. I had done during my writing by various artists of greater talent than me XD also because I want to like, get ahead and get ideas and such.
3 - I might get writing blocks because the next arc is a bit out of my depth in terms of writing, and also because I'm having a bit of a rough time here until February when the weather clears up into Spring.
Sooooooooo yeah! Hope you all keep on watching and reading when I upload soon!

So I still fucking hate FA's hatred for writing documents
Posted 13 years agoAnd as a result I've been really goddamn sick and tired of uploading these stories, putting all these little touches in the writing only to be ruined and truncated by FA's unfriendly-as-fuck uploading of writing documents due to text formatting.
I've been uploading the stories also onto my Inkbunny account - https://inkbunny.net/FinalGamer - where they are much easier to read.
If you guys actually want to read my stories in a much friendlier way (because let's face it I know you guys might wanna read but FA makes it look so unfriendly), then you can read them over here too.

Posted 14 years agoI'm hanging out with jamescorck who arrived here back at the start of August. I thought not enough people were that bothered about the FG stories being delayed because I'm busy doing......lots of things XD
But well, maybe some of you do, and I didn't want anyone to think I've given up, NO WAY. Sooooooo......yeah that's why I've not been writing and I won't write more until the end of August, okay doke everyone?

So now I've gone more with this idea, for those of you who'd want the short and sweet here.

Within this wasteland, as society tries to rebuild itself in the remains of the world's nations, anthros exist, having come from a laboratory in Iceland. No one knows how they were created, or why, but whether it was the mad whimsy of science or some other unseen reason, they came to be.

Day 1 - Very first video game:
DuckTales on the NES, back in Christmas 1991. The first thing I could focus on for more than 2 minutes and love.
Day 2 - Your favorite character:
Samus Aran, closely followed by George Stobbart. The former for being an absolutely kickass strong-willed warrior, and the latter for being one of the most utterly normal videogame characters to exist, yet save the day by pure luck, logic and courage.
Also Lizardman because he's so goddamn smexy and underrated goddamnit Namco why do you keep shoving him to one side with no backstory since the first game ><
Day 3 - A game that is underrated:
Eternal Champions. It got a great touch-up on the Sega CD but we all know how that tumour of a console add-on went. Shame because Eternal Champions was a wonderfully visceral beat-em-up.
Day 4 - Your guilty pleasure game:
Mission Impossible for the N64. It's not a great game but I love how narmy the gameplay gets, especially Ethan Hunt's screams of "GAAAAAAAAARGH DX"
Day 5 - Game character you feel you are most like (or wish you were):
As a kid I really sympathised with Squall Leonhart from FFVIII since at the time I was leaving primary school, and his feelings of abandonment struck very close to home for me. I admit, sometimes especially during emotional times I tend to be as cold as him.
Day 6 - Most annoying character:
Well Tingle obviously but then he wasn't really developed with a non-Japanese audience in mind, right?
Recently though, I absolutely LOATHE Vice Detective Roy Earle from L.A. Noire for how pure an asshole he truly is. Even if it was probably intentional to have at least one incredibly racist misanthropic sexist partner, goddamn I hate that cocksucker so bad.
Day 7 - Favorite game couple:
Well if we're counting fan-based couples then Felicia and Jon Talbain, or Link and Midna, or Freya and Fratley, or Shepard and Tali or Garrus. I just love a good anthro romance, bonus points if it's a human with an alien/anthro.
Day 8 - Best soundtrack:
This is kind of cheating but Super Smash Bros Brawl for having the most EPIC eargasm of Nintendo music history with some of the most amazing composers ever rearranging them <3
However I massively love the soundtrack of Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver. The composers had a lot of genuine love for this soundtrack, you can tell.
Also Live-A-Live, I just absolutely love the whole thing.
Day 9 - Saddest game scene:
I have never cried at a game more harder in my life than when I played to the end of Mother 3. Honourable mentions also go to the Social Rank moments with Nanako in Persona 4, the top of Lavender Tower in Pokémon Red, and the boy with the flute in Link to the Past.
BIGGEST one however for me that hits me to this day is Tifa's flashback in FFVII. No, not Aeris' death, it's highly publicised and lost its feel now. But Tifa having her flashback in the lifestream to when her mother died....that still brings me to tears.
Day 10 - Best gameplay:
Final Fantasy IX has my most favourite structure of gameplay ever. Every character had their own class, their abilities were learnt through weapons and armour and obtained for real with experience, the Trance mode worked like the Limit Break, it all worked so well for me, structured but not restrictive.
Day 11 - Gaming system of choice:
Really going with the Xbox 360 here, it's the one I play the most nowadays for having the widest range of games and a pretty solid controller layout that works for most games.
Day 12 - A game everyone should play:
If there is one game everyone should play, it's Shadow Hearts. It is one of the most messed-up darkly humour RPGs ever and it needs more love. Deus Ex is awesome but maybe too intensive for some so I say Shadow Hearts for how easy it is to get into with a good unique battle system, a fun cast, a great soundtrack and a fucked-up awesome plot.
Day 13 - A game you’ve played more than five times:
Lemme see.....Shadow Hearts, Deus Ex, Bully, Animaniacs Genesis, World of Illusion on Mega Drive/Genesis, Eternal Champions CD, Sonic 2 and Super Mario 64.
Day 14 - Current (or most recent) gaming wallpaper:
Right now it's wallpaper from Dino Run. Awesome flash game <3

Two games I will always uphold for having incredible stories that continue to pull me in to this day.
1. Deus Ex (cyberpunk near-future New York wrapped within a conspiracy of a deadly plague versus a cure)
2. Breath of Fire III (Young dragon clan descendant finds himself the folly of a jealous xenophobic god's plan)
Day 22 - A game sequel which disappointed you:
* Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness for basically killing the franchise with horrendous irreversible controls.
* Tekken 6 for having the most BULLSHIT FUCKING BOSS and making me remember why I didn't want to play Tekken again after Tekken 5.
* Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. STUPID RANDOM SHIT, I HATE CARD-BASED BATTLES!
Day 23 - Game you think had the best graphics or art style:
Okami is an obvious one, and it's true for how beautiful it feel to literally walk into a classical Japanese painting. But I was also a big fan of the art style in the Gregory Horror Show game for its creepy-cute blockiness.
Day 24 - Favorite classic game:
Well, for me classic is any game that's six years old.....but going allll the way back to the 8-bit/16-bit, it's got to be either Tetris or The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
Day 25 - A game you plan on playing:
Child of Eden when they announce the EU release date, Alice: Madness Returns, I Am Alive, The Witness, Sonic Generations and Rayman Origins.
Day 26 - Best voice acting:
I actually really loved the voice acting in Silent Hill 2 for how intentionally confused everyone sounded, it fit the setting really well. But recently, L.A. Noire nailed it with professional actors both voicing AND acting out the stuff in the game, they've really pulled me into the world of 1940s L.A.
Props also go to BioShock as one of the few games that genuinely sends chills up my spine purely from the voice acting alone. Especially Dr. Steinman.
Day 27 - Most epic scene ever:
The ending of Ocarina of Time. Really, there was nothing more epic to me than that for the absolute PERFECT embodiment of Ganon. And that was it, no boss subtitle like "King of Evil", no, just GANON. Cue the flames and lightning.
The final battle of Bayonetta was stupendously epic, if anything for the MOTHERFUCKING AMAZING MUSIC HOLY SHIT THIS IS SO EPIC.
And lastly, any final battle in the Pokémon games counts too because of how much time and love you poured into your team to craft them into the mightiest warriors of the land, so to watch them stand before THE most powerful team in the game is rather heartrendingly epic always.
Day 28 - Favorite game developer:
Rather mixed here but the company that has least disappointed me has to be Valve. Their incredible innovations I will always admire as well as their wonderful rapport with the fanbase, one of the few gaming companies I know of that seem to actually respect and understand their fans (TF2 update-whinging notwithstanding)
Day 29 - A game you thought you wouldn’t like, but ended up loving.
Surprisingly enough, Final Fantasy VII is the first that comes to mind. It was the early days of my owning a PS1, and of course 3D gaming would have a rocky start. My dad bought me the game hearing it got quite the rave reviews at the time and at first I hated it.
I hated the fact everyone had pipe cleaners for arms, I hated the terrible mistranslation about running and the infamous advice of attacking the first boss (took me a while to understand NOT to attack when the tail was up, goddamnit).
And yet, despite that, I pushed through anyway because I wanted to know what the point of it was, as it was my first RPG ever. Eventually I softened towards it and right around the point where they invade the Shinra Building, I started loving it.
Of course I can still mock its flaws but I can still enjoy the game for what it was.

Deus Ex. PC or PS2, doesn't matter. I first played it on the PS2 then years later bought the PC version. Deus Ex was the very first videogame to actually make me consider such things like what measure is a human being, philosophical debates on the necessity of a higher deity to guide us, stuff like that.
It's not a common topic in games no, but Deus Ex was special like that, it was brilliantly written, it had an amazingly expansive world for a first-person shooter with RPG elements, and it still entertains me to this very day more than any other game has ever done so.

Posted 14 years agoSo, as some of you may or may not know, I'm suffering from a virus that's slowed me down as of late with my writing. Not to worry though! I'm perking up eventually, just some paracetamol and a lot of liquids'll get me back on my feet by next week surely.
Incidentally I took that time to go through all of my FG stories and relink all of the Background Music links to better songs. Also I made a playlist for easier perusal, if anyone actually wants it.

Posted 15 years agoSo another lil writer's block will be leaving me a while without any updates but hopefully not too long. I hope you've all been enjoying An Era of Chivalry, it was pretty difficult to try and write one particular character to sound like he originally does. While I'm working on that though, I'd like to share a few thoughts on where I'm going with this.
Firstly, I dunno if there are many reading them, but the few I know who do seem to be enjoying them quite a lot, and I am happy for that. The big problem I gotta deal with, like every other fanfiction writer is this.
You are putting a character you made, into worlds other people made, as an excuse to explore them. Naturally this is a very easy place to fall into Mary Sue territory with, and not even in terms of overpowered but in terms of being egregiously liked by everyone you like.
So of course, how do I resist this temptation? Well for starters, there is no fucking way I am putting FG into the Kingdom Hearts universe ever. Unless I find a really clever and fun way to do it, it's never gonna work. That entire series, as much as I love the first two games with a passion, is a goddamn breeding ground for Mary Sues.
And I've been really trying to avoid making FG into one, no matter how easy it'd be. I could but that would not be fun at all to read now wouldn't it?
Though I also have the problem that I'm trying so much to keep FG away from being a Mary Sue that I might end up making him an Agony Sue with the shit I put him through. So how the hell do I find balance inbetween? Practice and Criticism. Practice from myself, and Criticism from you all.
Of course there's more to a character than just giving them moments of awesome and moments of tragedy. It's what builds up to them that matters, at least that's what I think.

With FG, yes he's an OC in a series of fan fictions, I admit that, and I know how bad a reputation that can become, but I wanted to do it because I wanted to have fun writing. But that doesn't mean only I have to enjoy it, I want other people to enjoy it too, and I wanna get better at writing overall.
With FG I have a character who is young, inexperienced, arrogant to the point that it only ends up hurting him, angry to the point that it only ends up hurting everyone else with him, confused and wounded.
By the end of this entire saga, I hope that both me and the people who've been reading along will look on him and say "What an interesting character! Firstly, I dunno if there are many reading them, but the few I know who do seem to be enjoying them quite a lot, and I am happy for that. The big problem I gotta deal with, like every other fanfiction writer is this.
You are putting a character you made, into worlds other people made, as an excuse to explore them. Naturally this is a very easy place to fall into Mary Sue territory with, and not even in terms of overpowered but in terms of being egregiously liked by everyone you like.
So of course, how do I resist this temptation? Well for starters, there is no fucking way I am putting FG into the Kingdom Hearts universe ever. Unless I find a really clever and fun way to do it, it's never gonna work. That entire series, as much as I love the first two games with a passion, is a goddamn breeding ground for Mary Sues.
And I've been really trying to avoid making FG into one, no matter how easy it'd be. I could but that would not be fun at all to read now wouldn't it?
Though I also have the problem that I'm trying so much to keep FG away from being a Mary Sue that I might end up making him an Agony Sue with the shit I put him through. So how the hell do I find balance inbetween? Practice and Criticism. Practice from myself, and Criticism from you all.

Possible Story Commissions anyone?

toninjinka, the only guy who ever commissioned me for stories ever, encouraged me to really go for asking people if they want me to do story commissions.....as if people want to read things on the internet.
Then again stories with that red banner of porn around them are read more than others so.....okay here I go.
I am willing to write stories, sexual or not, for people on anything they want me to write about. These include:
Rule34 pairings (the more stranger the pairing the more I'll be intrigued)
Writings about your characters (would make good practice for me in dealing with various other archetypes of writing)
Non-canon stories of FinalGamer that you'd REALLY wanna see (as if anyone would ask for that)
What I will NOT write about however is debatable. Some pairings and characters I may not be able to work with but you might as well ask. The only thing I will NEVER write about is scat and anything involving gases, be they artificial or natural. I have a very weak stomach and am easily sickened by certain....physical things.
Prices, I honestly have no idea how to regulate prices concerning story commissions, it would depend on the length of the story really and how well I can do with it. The price however will always be between $5 and $25, as a good start depending on two things.
1. How long you want the story.
2. How much you're willing to pay.
Alternative money-less payment is always acceptable too. :D

Wow, 21 out of 100? Surprising, I feel pretty good about myself there, especially when I stopped being a serious reader after I left high school. Though I dunno about Gabriel Garcia Marquez being in there and all, is he really that good? I mean what about Don Quixote if you really wanna pick something from the Spanish language, and yanno, something ACTUALLY FROM SPAIN.
Egh oh well....I actually know most of these books by name but I do feel pretty bad that being on the internet all through the night has essentially robbed me of any time to be in bed with a novel. I used to love curling up with a good book and narrating it to myself to help me get into the book more, playing every single character that popped up (even the women), and....I dunno feeling really enlightened.
Most of the book-reading I did was during high school as an excuse to do something because I was incredibly bored with studying and literature was a pretty damn good escape for me from there, especially when I became a senior and got access to the Classics section.
I really miss my high school's library, it was small but it had everything in there, everything that was important you could want to read, especially the Classics section on the upper floor for seniors only.
Dante, Shakespeare, even a little bit of the Qu'Ran out of curiosity but I couldn't quote anything to you sadly. Yeah my high school had a Classics section with the Bible AND the Qu'Ran, isn't that AWESOME! And yes, they STILL kept that copy there in Classics during 9/11, in case we wanted to LEARN. Cuz...yanno someone might be doing an essay on Islam and need it for research, I mean we did have a religion class and all, that's how I pretty much read up on the Bible.
Even tried to read a bit of Chaucer but goddamn I was not expecting such a difference in how they spoke that far back, jesus. I could not read it, I'm sure it's good but I couldn't understand the guy....shame he never finished his Tales.
Kind of surprised at all the stuff I read back then for my age. I Robot, Inferno, 1984, Watership Down, Catch 22, Jane Eyre, even got to read The Diary of Anne Frank to move away from fiction for a while and get a grounding of reality.
So basically, what I'm trying to say is
