Something we all wanna do?
Posted 15 years agoI had a dream last night that I was at some kind of bank, nearby that fake MacDonald's place from Coming To America for some reason. On a sunny southwest US day, the bank was held up by three or more burglars. One guy left to keep an eye on the 15 or so hostages including me was stupid enough to leave his shotgun on a table, and I just charged over to grab and shoot him in the shoulder, then he bolted off out the door before I SOMEHOW shot him in the head.
From 10 feet away.
With a shotgun. Yyyyyeah. Rest of the burglars I somehow manage to be the only one to take down properly except one who for some reason never really was around, probably handling the vault.
That's a favourite recurring dream of mine, to be the hero in some kind of holdup. I'd never wanna be in one, but a tiny dangerous part of me wants to just so I can see what kind of person I truly am when tested in a situation of great peril.
Then again, what if I'm not crazy enough to actually try this? Then I'm gonna look a complete pussy after all that dream bragging to myself, and my dreams'll be like "YOU SHOULDA DONE IT MAN, YOU'D HAVE BEEN A HERO, YOU'D HAVE LEARNED SOMETHING BUT NO< YOU'RE JUST A LITTLE BITCH!"
So, just to summarise, fi you hear about a hostage situation in Scotland and there's a mention of some dipshit who stupidly tries to bullrush criminals to be a hero, that will hopefully be me.
Let's just hope that doesn't become an obituary. Not THE most stupidest death but certainly not one of the best ideas out there.
I'm a retard :D
Also, on another note, I finished Okami at last. I felt that game had gone unfinished for way too long in my possession and I had to rectify that. I'm very happy with myself for this. The FG stories are still going by the way, but please keep those comments going so I can learn on writing better.
I do have other stories related to FG in mind when I've finished with his stories. Though these other ones are a lot more...domestic, shall we say. I wanna try my hand in writing less fantastical stories with just as interesting characters, which actually will be easier considering this will be a world of my actual own....or will it be harder? Ach, I'll find out soon either way.

Uwe Boll finally breaks through the barriers...
Posted 15 years ago...of either taste or imagination with his new movie project AUSCHWITZ - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FS8E71RUOLU
I have no idea what the fuck to expect, but I'm too scared to watch it. I mean, a director as legendarily bad as him, doing a movie about Auschwitz? I can't wait to see the reactions afterwards. He must have become quite cocky after his surprisingly okay movie Rampage, showing he actually does have potential as a director. But with this movie....well, we shall see. Who knows, maybe he'll surprise you.

My 13 Favourite Videogame Music Pieces Ever. Thoughts?
Posted 15 years agoWell there's this guy called
smilerfrog who had a journal about it and I thought why not make a reply in a way. Journal of the source is over here - http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1636408 - so have a looksee at a guy's excellent taste in game music while I put down mine in no discernible order.
I actually do have a video on my Youtube account (FinalGamerJames) that shows my 13 favourite videogame music themes of all time, but I will not link it here for two reasons.
Firstly, I've changed in what music I like more or less.....mostly.
Secondly, I want you to savour the songs in all of their entirety.
1. Main Theme of Jungle Strike - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovCoKUdwn78
Ever since I can remember, I loved this theme. It has a strange nostalgia to it more than any other game music piece and it remains always my favourite videogame music piece of all time for its adventurous spirit. It really makes me think I can do anything!
2. Kimera II (G-Darius) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOYvqr2yZEs
What has become my favourite Playstation song ever from a game I never even played, Kimera II is a mind-bending experience of a song that takes me away from reality briefly in its hauntingly electronic but spiritual melody that seems to dive deep into the recesses of my mind.
3. Forest Temple (Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=du1LZPZVwy8
Another haunting melody that chills me to the soul by its strange false sense of deja vu that it gives me when I hear it. The warped strings, the strange chorus that comes in halfway to the forefront of the melody, it all brings a sense of abandoned nostalgia, truly of a place long abandoned, a place of memories that nobody will ever remember.
4. Funky Dealer (Jet Set Radio Future) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2ScC49tllU
If you play this song, I will dance without warning.
I am not kidding.
5. Howl of the Departed (Lost Odyssey) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AWsrBlB9hI
This is quite honestly my favourite boss theme of all time now. This beats One-Winged Angel in every single way (and no that song was not my favourite boss theme before this one even if it was quite good).
It's more dramatic, has a greater use of choir, and is far more insanely epic rhythm-wise than Uematsu's previously known opus. I just cannot feel un-epic when listening to this song, it's MAGNIFICENT.
6. Mickey and the Beanstalk (Mickey Mania Sega CD) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOj1dapvoMs
One of the first projects of award-winning movie composer Michael Giacchino, this classical reinterpretation of my favourite song from Mickey Mania is just mind-blowingly beautiful to me. It plays and spins so whimsically like a ballet dancer to perfectly bring that image of an adventurer jumping and dashing amongst the clouds and beanstalks.
7. Convulsive Madness (No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGuEgHH2OI4
I haven't even played this game yet and I already love the soundtrack to this, ESPECIALLY this one which for spoiler reasons to myself I know only as Convulsive Madness, and as phase 2 of the final boss.
Jesus christ this is an insane boss theme, it's pure madness, it makes me fear the psycho who wields this theme, wild-eyed and unable to give a goddamn FUCK about what's gonna happen to you.
8. Theme of International Karate - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzlK_JNuOGE
Now THIS is old school. The simplistic oriental vibe of this pure 8-bit song is just wonderful. It sums up patience, dedication, persistance and strategy, all of which are required not only in martial arts, but also in becoming a true gamer back in those days when challenges were greater within simpler boundaries.
9. The Moon (DuckTales) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_80PQ543rM
Someone on ScrewAttack forums once said that this theme perfectly represented the 8-bit era. I completely agree. A slow uncertain start, slowly rising into a glorious pitch of bountiful energy and pure joy that just never stops. It's perhaps the most anthemic 8-bit song for how it represents the best of that era.
10. Mods de Chocobo (Final Fantasy VIII) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XF-w0FW5hbA
This is, without a doubt, my all-time favourite Final Fantasy theme. Ever. Firstly it's a reimagining of one of the few songs that has been through most of the series. Secondly, it is the BEST reimagining for being a rock ballad of the Chocobo song. Regardless on how I feel about the game itself, this song right here will always get me into an adventurous mood ready to kick ass and take the reins into a whole new continent.
11. Metropolis Zone (Sonic the Hedgehog 2) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRuJfhEeCe8
I'm probably one of the few people who enjoy this level and its theme. Despite its frustrating nature of irritating starfish enemies and odd screw-elevators, this has such a goddamn awesome song, a ripping 80s-feeling rhythm complete with robotic vibe that sums up this technological tower of Babel well for me.
12. Intro of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiETgEHcbTQ
This is pure nostalgia to me, similar to the Jungle Stike theme's reason of being in this list for me, but in a softer more soothing way. This was the song that made me realise truly that an adventure was always waiting for me in another world, entirely constructed of pixels and coding, and all I had to do was to press Start. Even if DuckTales was the first game I ever played, this song brought to me my first sense of adventure.
13. Title Screen of Pokémon Gold/Silver - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXrW.....eature=related
Yet another theme that brings to me the spirit of adventure and hope. Despite my absolute love to the remake's magnificent soundtrack, there's a few songs that I still love the original versions of, such as this one. As soon as that legendary winged beast appears, the Game Boy just pours all of its heart into making this song, resonating with such a pure will that it's impossible to not love, all with a wonderful variation of one of the most memorable themes of my generation.

So do other people handle anger like I do?
Posted 15 years agoWhen I get frustrated enough I tend to clench every muscle in my body as if I'm having a seizure and FORCE that anger deep inside me.
Once every few months I can become so frustrated and pent up that I start to see colours in my vision and occasionally a sting in the pit of my gut.
Does....anyone else have this? Maybe it's because as someone with Asperger's and this is just a way I handle it.
Yes I was fucking tested when I was 2 and if any of you are "self-diagnosed" then turn around and immediately leave my userpage because I never want to fucking hear of you useless leeching bastards again.

Wanna get good cheap art from quite a good artist?
Posted 15 years agoThen come on over to
xandermorhaime who's offering a low low price of:
$6 for a detailed sketch
$10 for pencils plus background or plaink inks
$15 for inks and background or plain colour
And so on. All this from an artist who works well under deadlines and with an ego that does NOT have its own gravitational field? You gotta be crazy!
Well I am crazy, but I know this guy's good, so please, check
xandermorhaime out and if you like what you see, commission him why dontcha?
Take it from me, I've had five commissions from this guy and they all have turned out exactly how I wanted them. So please, check him out, tell your friends, see if anyone cares! I sure hope they do!

Faith In Nintendo Restored 100% (E3 Thoughts)
Posted 15 years agoI was watching the live stream of E3 thanks to
omegaforever linking me to it and......holy shit Nintendo had a very very awesome show.
I have not seen the other ones so I hope they had good ones, but here's what I saw during Nintendo's E3 exhibit. THERE ARE SPOILERS
so you shouldn't read this if you wanna be surprised yourself somewhere else.
Bad moments:
Wii Party (just Mario Party with Miis)
Just Dance 2 (jesus no)
Good moments:
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (motion controls a lil buggy but Miyamoto showed off a lot of kickass new ideas)
EPIC MICKEY (HOLY SHIT YES. I want this game so much)
Kirby's Epic Yarn (Oh dear god it is so adorable, like Paper Mario with Yoshi's Story graphics)
Metroid: Other M (We've all been hearing about it, but to see it in motion for the first time is just fantastic)
Donkey Kong Country Returns (Retro Studios are making a Donkey Kong Country!?!?! OH GOD! <3)
And finally......the biggest best part of all for me.
GOLDENEYE 007. ON THE WII. REMADE.
......I....I need to lie down, thi....this is what me and my dad have been waiting for, for 16 years.....agh...ah god.
OH MY GOD YES! ACTIVISION HOW DID YOU DO SOMETHING ACTUALLY GOOD!?!?
Aaaaaaaaaand those are my thoughts on the E3. Oh yeah the 3DS came in but I'm not big on the 3D technology so....hope that goes well!

ANYONE READING THE FINALGAMER STORIES, READ THIS
Posted 15 years agoThere, that got your attention didn't it? The last journal didn't :P
So I decided to add something to all descriptions of the FG stories on FA, a lil background music.
Each story description now has Background Music unlocked! With this, you can have recommendations of music to listen to that will fit appropriately for the situations in FG's stories, that is if you actually want to. Bear in mind all of this music comes from videogames.
Just an optional thing I wanted to do because I made a playlist of music to help me focus better on writing the stories so I thought why not put that in anyway for the descriptions?
Have fun!

Back home now :3
Posted 15 years agoPhew that was tiresome |3 now back to my usual pervy self.
Oy, vacations and finally updating FG's stories
Posted 15 years agoI guess I better say now, I'm stuck in Spain a few days cuz of the volcanic ash cloud. But on the upside I´m so bored being in my friend´s house when we have nothing to do that I actually finished Let's Hit The Road!
Final chapter will be next week, I hope it doesn´t look too rushed or anything so please, always leave feedback on my work so, yanno, I can get better.
Also working up on the next story of FG, it hopefully won't be as long as the last one so you won't get bored easily....I hope :P

Just because I need to offload (depression over a pet)
Posted 15 years agoJust for friends really so they can understand why I might be feeling down over the next few weeks.
One of my dogs, a golden retriever with possessive love towards my mom, may be going to die of cirrhosis. Right now I am also suffering from stomach aches and sleep deprivation so I am going to be quite touchy and unbalanced as a fair warning. Okay he's old, he's like 12 or 14 but just warning you.
This journal will be amended within the month concerning his status, so touch wood.
I do not want to talk about it, I don't want to cry on your shoulder, I just need to put this out there. Leave condolences here if you want to, I'm more concerned about my mom since it was really her dog and the two were very close, and if any of my buddies wanna talk to me, please do not mention it.
I will deal with it my own way.
By repressing uncomfortable emotions into the pit of my stomach in order to not inconvenience others. Please respect that.
We now return to your more amusing anecdotes, whiny-as-fuck drama and sweet furry porn.

Posted 15 years agoWhen I woke up a few days back, I saw some stuff in my room in pure red lines, like something out of TRON. But it was more like....well I could see the frames of my Salvador Dali poster and a large paperweight next to my bed.
I was pretty freaked out by it I admit XD it was just in that state between dream and reality but weirdly I didn't dream of anything CLOSE to that. I was more or less having a nightmare about ghosts.
So, thoughts anyone?

There once was a ship named Belgrano-fuck I didn't mean it
Posted 15 years agoSome of you might know about the ARA General Belgrano, an Argentine Navy Cruiser famous for its unfortunate demise during the Falklands War between the UK and Argentinia in the 80s.
The sinking of it remains a controversial topic to this day concerning the reign of Britain's prime minister at the time, Baroness Margaret Thatcher, due to the fact it was fleeing from the war's exclusion zone and was sunk by the HMS Conqueror under Thatcher's orders.
Despite the Argentine government seceding that it was justified, it still remains controversial. Why then would I even talk about it?
Because it was a famous ship in its own right. Americans, you now have a reason to hate Margaret Thatcher vehemently.
The ARA Belgrano used to be an American ship, more specifically the USS Phoenix.
The only ship to have ever survived Pearl Harbour fully intact.
And that BITCH of a prime minister sank it, with barely any right to do so, fuckit, no right to do so, no matter what our government or Argentina's say.
The only ship to have ever been sunk by a nuclear submarine, that great survivor of Pearl Harbour....farewell sweet Phoenix, and may a flight of steel angels send thee thy rest.
While Thatcher slowly dies inside her festering Alzheimer's. Bitch.

M4 Part 3 perhaps (and what IS a UVGM?)
Posted 16 years agoSo I've been away a lot due to Mass Effect 2 and such distracting me, so uhhh sorry to say I'm gonna be QUITE delayed in writing until I get through that game enough XD
That's for the few of you who care about my writings.
For those who don't, I've been also working on my Youtube account, largely making UVGMs.
What are they you don't ask?
Underrated VideoGame Music.
See, I have noticed that amongst the people who love videogame music, there's a lot of stuff EVERYONE knows and loves. The Mario Bros. theme, Chemical Plant Zone, One Winged Angel, we all know and love that stuff. But we KNOW them.
What about the songs you don't know about, or just plain forgot while playing games that were rather good or even awesome? Well, my friends, this is what I plan to do. My Youtube account will largely dedicate itself to bringing attention to the music in games that do not deserve to be underrated.
The great, the good, the epic and the kickass, but they all have to be fairly underrated. If you're a fan of videogame music, check out my account - http://www.youtube.com/user/finalgamerjames

TWO OH ONE OH ONE FOUR ONE HOOAH
Posted 16 years agoSo, 2010 has arrived, I'm listening to Axelay, enjoying some awfully funny Let's Play of Sonic 2006, and what else....
Oh yeah. I just finished Modern Warfare 2.
First time playing.
Hardened mode.
9 hours.
Non-stop.
21 Achievements.
Today...was a good day for the FinalGamer. I may not be even at 20,000 Gamerscore yet, but at this point I don't care. This kind of accomplishment feels much more worth than even 10,000 gamerscore points.
So, that was the last thing I did for 2009. And my god it's the best thing I've ever done at the end of a year.

Ahhh good to be back eh?
Posted 16 years agoYeah we all missed this fantastic site but we're back so back to filling it up again with good stuff, shit stuff and wtf stuff.
I've got another of my FG stories up so don't worry, I DID do something on the site's downtime to have something to contribute to it when it came back.
Anything you wanna criticise about my writing, do it on the pages real constructively, that is if you want me to learn to write properly.

The Greatest Scot (In My Opinion)
Posted 16 years agoSo, another list has come to the shores of the UK and all British people are crazy about lists. But this is to do with one country only, unlike the list several years back of The Greatest Briton.
http://scotland.stv.tv/greatest-scot/ - The Greatest Scot. Out of 800 years of Scottish history, 35 have been nominated from science, sport, literature, philosophy, cinema and industry.
There's many on the list who deserve the great title but I want to tell you about one person I believe deserves it. James Clerk Maxwell.
Now some of you are wondering who the hell is Maxwell? Well, he was a physicist and mathematician from Edinburgh, largely known for his research into electromagnetism.
Everyone at the time knew about electricity and magnets, but he combined the two and became the first person to estimate a disturbingly accurate number for the speed of light. He also was the founder on the beginning of ideas such as quantum mechanics.
But the big thing this guy is so underrated for? He discovered radio waves.
With his equations he managed to theorise and prove the existence of electromagnetic waves in the air which were then later to inspire the radio...which lead to the television....which lead to the global network of satellites for television....which lead to THE INTERNET.
This man invented the entire fucking modern age, and yet almost nobody remembers his name! We all know John Logie Baird who invented the television (and even the first colour TV, video disc recorder and EVEN high-definition TV), but without Maxwell, there'd not have been ideas into this.
John Logie Baird described television first as "seeing wireless", but without Maxwell, you'd not even have wireless since you need radio waves to work a damn radio.
Maybe someone further down the line could have figured it out, maybe Marconi might have stumbled upon it, but Maxwell found it.
Albert Einstein himself even said that "a new age had begun with Maxwell".
Big praise from him. And that is my nomination for the Greatest Scot.
There's the men who shaped my country such as Robert the Bruce and William Wallace, there's the inventor of television, there's the man who made Sherlock Holmes, there's even Andrew Carnegie and John Muir who are even considered two of the greatest Americans, the former for his amazing philanthropy and the latter for being the father of protecting the environment.
But this age we live in, the reason I can tell you all this, the reason we have all this magnificent artwork and stories before our very eyes on this website on this internet, the reason so many people have connected with each other continents apart....began with James Clerk Maxwell.

This is why I love the BBC
Posted 16 years agohttp://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/8355287.stm - for the most part, at least definitely moreso than the American media, The BBC keep a cool unbiased head to get right down to only the facts.
This is for all the furries who bitch and whine about their misrepresentation in the media. Enjoy.

Some more thoughts here
Posted 16 years agoSo uhh I moved two things to Scraps, one being an upload which is where I'll put in some of the commissions I get that are a little less cool with the general populace of FA, just to be polite.
It's okay guys, there's not been any pressure on me, this is just me thinking "hmmm it'd make it nicer and I know a few pals who'd like to scan my gallery without being reminded of ZOMG HORSECOCK IN RAPTOR ASS kinda reaction" yanno?
Also, FG's stories. I've seen that my original idea of making each chapter into five or six parts is not going to work, and ones like The Gamer's Crossing may well stretch out to say, twelve parts?
I hope you guys can keep up the attention span, and there will be porn, do not fear. However I will write most of the uhhh M/M stuff in a way that will make them skippable, if you don't want to see that, I mean just for the straight fans.
So....that's it really. Just wanted to share that.
Oh, and I hope you guys enjoy my videogame music vids on Youtube as - http://www.youtube.com/user/FinalGamerJames - if you enjoy game music at all.

Drama
Posted 16 years agohttp://www.ib4f.com/board/bara0/furry - We need less of it. Respect your artists, they're not porn-making machines for your service. Likewise, this is the internet. Know your risks before you plan.
http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1004002/ - top link connected to this.
Seems the only kind of people who'd do this kinda stuff and make artists just give up doing what they do best despite compromises probably want to destroy the furry fandom, so guys, just say no and pay up.
We may be perverts but dammit we gotta have SOME integrity.

The Chronicles of FinalGamer have already begun!
Posted 16 years agoI've been doing this for a long time now, finally having completed the first chapter and storming through the next two as you've probably seen from watching me.
Thing is, I may occasionally edit them even if they have been uploaded but only if they are the latest stories. Despite the alterations and ideas I have on each world, I want to keep true to the personalities of any certain characters and will be regularly consulting various experts on various places.
Like I did just now with Bob in the Animal Crossing chapter just up. Sorry for that everyone but....well dammit Bob is a difficult character. Even if he's not THAT important I wanna make sure everyone's true to themselves, no bastardisations or so.
Aaaaaanyways, wanted to say that, and really, if any of my stories have a videogame-related thumbnail to them or a raptor thumbnail, it's FG's stories. So I hope you have fun reading them!
