Commission Sketch Stream?
Posted 8 years agoI'm curious and gauging interest.
If I were to do a commission sketch livestream at some point, doing simple sketches for $10 or something, would many people be interested?

Commissions Closed
Posted 8 years agoEdited to add: All 3 slots are taken so commissions are now closed for the moment.
********************************************************
Following on from my journal a few days ago, I am now open for some commissions. Three slots are available, and will be filled on a first come first served basis. Please read the whole of this journal before asking for a commission.
I am only doing full colour pics, with either 1 or 2 characters. Prices are in US dollars.
The price will be $50 for a single character.
It will then be an additional $25 if you want a second character.
And/or an additional $5 for a background.
Payment will be through Paypal and will be due once the initial sketch is done. Although if you want to pay before then, I certainly won’t object.
Please be aware of the things I WILL NOT do:
Vore, Gore, Cubs, Scat, Piss, Diapers.
I also will not do copyrighted characters from movies/TV/video games/comics, etc.
And of course, I retain the right to turn down any commission.
If you are interested, send me a note to let me know, along with details of what you’d like. As I said, there are only three slots available. If you miss out this time, I am aiming to get these done reasonably quickly, and will then be taking on more, so there should be further opportunities to commission me in the near future.

Taking New Commissions Soon
Posted 8 years agoIt seems that due to circumstances beyond my control, I will start taking on new commissions very soon.
This is something I really didn’t expect to be doing. I’d always wanted to avoid taking on new commissions until I clear my old backlog. I have been working on that recently, I am making progress on that front and I remain committed to finishing them all eventually. These new commissions will be something I’ll have to work on alongside the old.
The fact is, money is short and might be getting shorter in a few months. This is due to a big dispute between my employer and my union that looks unlikely to be resolved any time soon and is very likely going to result in strike action in December. It looks like I’m going to be losing money I can’t afford to lose.
My options for making extra money are limited. And so, after giving it much thought, I have decided to begin accepting new commissions, to try and build up some spare money to help me through that period if it comes.
But I am going to learn from past mistakes by not biting off more than I can chew. Right now, I’m planning to only take on three pics at a time and definitely no commission comics. I’m still figuring out what the prices will be.
It could be as early as tomorrow that I open for these new commissions. I’ll be post a journal here when I do, and slots will probably be filled on a first come, first served basis. I’m just hoping there will be at least some people out there that are interested.
And as a reminder, if you want to help me out without getting a commission, you can send me tips/donations through my ko-fi account. Any help is always greatly appreciated: http://ko-fi.com/cyberklaw

Birthday
Posted 8 years agoToday, the 27th, is my birthday. I am now 39 years old. Another year gone without much improvement in my life, another year closer to the grave.
I'm not expecting much out of today. It's going to be a lonely day, that much I know for certain. Here's hoping I can manage to distract myself from bad and depressing thoughts enough to avoid my mood being dragged down too much.

September Update: My Birthday and Time Off Work
Posted 8 years agoWell, we're now into September, it might be a good time for a bit of an update.
The main thing about September for me is that it is the month of my birthday. On the 27th, I will be 39 years old. Another year closer to the grave, getting more and more ancient. My birthdays when I'm single tend to be lonely and miserable so I'm not looking forward to it. I'm going to try and not let it get to me too much, but I don't know how well I'm going to manage that.
Another upcoming thing for me is a long stretch of four weeks off work, from mid-September to mid-October, which is just me using up some leave. Although I am not sure exactly what I'm going to do with that time, I am hoping to get a large amount of writing done and hopefully some art too, maybe do some sort of regular streaming during that time. We'll see how it goes, but don't be surprised if there's more stuff than usual from me during those weeks.
That's about all from me for now, but I'd just liked to add a reminder that if you want to support me and what I do, I accept tips through my ko-fi account. Any and all tips are greatly appreciated: http://ko-fi.com/cyberklaw

Buy Me a Coffee?
Posted 8 years agohttp://ko-fi.com/cyberklaw
I've just set up a Ko-Fi account for myself, in case anyone wants to help out and support me and what I do. I really wish I could just take on some commissions to make some extra money, but I just can't with my backlog still weighing on me and causing me stress (although I am slowly working through it, I promise!).
So for now at least, I'm going to be open to whatever tips people feel like giving me. Any extra money I get from this will help me stay on top of my bills and reduce stress from money realted worries.
So, any tips and support will be hugely appreciated!

Update on me
Posted 8 years agoJust a bit of an update as to what's been going on with me, for the tiny handful of people who might actually care.
I've not been too productive recently. This is due to various reasons, such as ongoing intense loneliness and regular bouts of depression and life just generally being shit. And even when I have managed to produce stuff, I seem to have got very little enjoyment or satisfaction from it, which just makes it difficult to summon up the enthusiasm and motivation to do any more.
The response, or rather lack of response, to the recent chapters of my 'That Day' story has been particularly disheartening. Yes, its not kinky or yiffy, but I put more time and effort in to it than anything else, its a story that I love writing and it means a lot to me. The result? Probably the least popular thing I've ever posted that the vast majority of people just seem to ignore.
I know that's just the way things are, that pics and adult stuff is always going to get more attention, and I shouldn't let this get to me. But I'm not perfect and sometimes it does.
So that's where I'm at, struggling with problems and doing my best to get through them and get back to normal. But for the moment, new stuff from me is likely to be somewhat haphazard. I have no idea when or how often I might be creating and finishing new stuff.

My 'That Day' Story
Posted 8 years agoThe latest chapter of my gay romance story 'That Day' has now been added to my web site, for the sake of anyone who might have trouble reading it here on FA. It can be found here:
http://cyberklaw.com/thatday.htm
Of course, if you prefer to read them here on FA, all the chapters are here:
http://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/.....26768/That-Day
I really wish more people would give the story a try, that more people would comment on it and give me some feedback. As it stands, it seems to be my least popular story, which is a shame, because I'm really enjoying writing it and have no intention of stopping. I like the characters and I like that its something a bit different from my usual kinky stuff. Yes, the lack of interest is a little disheartening, but I'm not letting that stop me.
So, if you haven't read it yet, I hope you'll consider giving it a try some time soon. Maybe even let me know what you think of it if you have the time. I would appreciate it.

Working Bears: Thoughts and Future
Posted 8 years agoSo, I have now at long last finished 'Working Bears 2', and some of you might now be wondering if there will be any more. The short answer is I don't know. The longer answer is maybe, it depends on all sorts of things.
At the moment, I feel a little disheartened. The three new Working Bears stories were the things I put the most time and effort into out of all the stuff I posted last week, and yet seem to have had the least number of favs. It's more than a little disappointing.
But that hasn't put me off the series completely, although I will be working on other stuff before I even start thinking of doing more.
Also, more Working Bears depends on me being able to come up with stories I want to write. I'm not going to do more just for the sake of doing more. And I don't want to get repetitive, so I'd have to come up with stories that are different enough to interest me. Please don't take that as an invitation to offer suggestions though, I'd prefer to write stuff I came up with myself.
I have had a few thoughts about future stories, but right now, they are just vague ideas. Like doing something with Victor visiting his brother. Or maybe finally looking at Thurman's past, since I mentioned in one story that he had once been in love. I also kind of like the idea of doing more with Axe and Red's relationship, possibly something involving them getting married.
But yeah, those are just basic ideas, not full story ideas, so who knows if they'll develop enough for me to want to write them. It's a matter of waiting to see what my imagination comes up with.
Also, I had another thought regarding Working Bears. A while back a friend suggested releasing Working Bears, with some extra material, as an ebook. With Working Bears 2 now done, I find myself thinking about that idea again.
So I was curious, would anyone be interested if I were to try to publish some form of Working Bears collection (with some additional exclusive stories) at some point, either as an ebook or a physical book? Is that something you could see yourself buying?

Posted 8 years agoJust a quick heads up. I have just added the new 'Working Bears 2' stories to my web site, for the benefit of anyone who'd rather read them there, or might have problems reading them here on FA.

7th Annual Hypno Bear Week
Posted 8 years agoWell, it's very nearly that time again. The 7th annual Hypno Bear Week is nearly here!
The week, started and run by
talisment will run from February 26th to March 4th. Anyone is free to participate, simply post something involving bears and hypnosis/mind control during that time. If you're a writer or artist, I hope you will consider contributing something.
As usual, I will be posting some stuff. And as usual, I got overly ambitious, came up with ideas for a bunch of stuff that I then realized I would not be able to manage. I've already dropped a number ideas for things that I had originally planned. It didn't help that I had a very bad week last week and wasn't able to get much creative stuff done. Oh well, there's always next year.
As to what I will be contributing, I'm hoping to do a mix of art and stories. I'm planning to post the rest of the 'Working Bears 2' stories that I had originally wanted to post last year. Also, remember my recent 'Mind Control Tales'? I'm working on a special Hypno Bears edition, a collection of very short hypno bears stories.
As for art, that remains a little uncertain at this point. There will be illustrations for the 'Working Bears 2' stories of course. I'm thinking of doing a stream later this week to start sketching out ideas for hypno bears pics that I can then finish and post next week. Some of this may even be done in hypno bears livestream next week. We'll see.
So, hope you enjoy the flood of new hypno bears material coming next week.

Goals for 2017
Posted 9 years ago2017 is nearly here, a good excuse for a fresh start and to look forward to the coming year. I'm hoping it will go well.
It's already shaping up to be an interesting one, as I'll possibly be moving home next year (if not, then definitely the year after), thanks to a recently approved regeneration scheme that will see where I currently live demolished in a few years or so. Moving will be a lot of hassle, but since I'll be getting a compensation payment for having to move as well as new and very likely better place to live, I'm kind of okay with it.
But beyond that, I do have a number of goals for next year:
Try to be more sociable.
I want to do my best to make new friends and reconnect with ones I have drifted apart from over time. I also eventually want to find new love. The only way I'm going to manage these things is to be more open and sociable, something I sometimes have trouble with.
Clear my commissions backlog.
Yeah, this one has been on my plate for many years at this point. But the progress I made during this year has left me optimistic that next year I might at last clear my commissions backlog. Whether or not I get as far as taking on new commissions remains to be seen.
Get back into writing.
I definitely want to do much more writing next year, as I have so many half-finished stories and ideas that I want to get written. I want to try and get into the habit of doing at least some writing every day. It won't be easy, but I intend to try.
Finish something for publication.
I really want to become a published writer, I have done for a long long time, and I think it's about time I stopped beating around the bush and pursued that goal. As such, it is my aim to have finished writing a novel by the end of next year, something that I can start trying to get published. Exactly what it will be I haven't decided yet, as I have several ideas /projects that I could use for this.
Overhaul my web site.
I've got this niggling urge to give my web site a bit of a redesign, maybe remove some aspects of it, add some new ones. Compared to my other goals for next year, this is kind of low priority, but something I'd still like to accomplish.

Goodbye to 2016
Posted 9 years agoWell, 2016 is almost over, time for a bit of an end of year update.
I think it's fair to say that this past year has been a very very bad one, and I'm probably far from alone in thinking that. It's been a bad year in a wide variety of ways that I really don't feel like going into in great detail.
For me personally, it was a year of problems and disappointments. I failed to accomplish much of what I'd hoped I would. There's a fair bit of writing and art I wanted to have done by now. Despite my efforts, I remained single throughout the entire year. I suffered many bouts of depression and loneliness than I could have done without.
So all in all, I'm glad this year is nearly done, and we have a whole new one ahead. Here's hoping it's a whole lot better. It would be tough for it to be worse...

A few things...
Posted 9 years agoJust wanted to do a quick journal in order to mention a few things.
First, I have this week finally updated my web site, adding all my recent stuff, for any who might be interested. It can be found here: http://cyberklaw.com
Second, I wanted to point you all to a Halloween story written by
tiranmaster which was based on a request/suggestion by me. He did a great job, so go check it out: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/21502612/ and go ahead and check out his other work as well.
Last, I just wanted to warn you all not to expect much from me next month. I'm going to be working a lot of extra hours at work in the run up to Christmas. I'm not going to have much free time to work on stuff, so I'm unlikely to get anything finished or posted. I might manage to get some stuff done in the next few weeks, but that remains to be seen. It is possible you might not see anything new from me until after Christmas. Apologies for that.

Birthday
Posted 9 years agoSo, today is my birthday, I am now 38 years old.
It's not exactly been a great day, I seem to have spent much of it very tired and lonely, and I'm dealing with a cold. But still, the day hasn't been as bad as I was expecting it to be, partly thanks to a couple of gifts which I will be posting soon.
Yet I will be glad when this day is done and behind me.

Minor Update
Posted 9 years agoI suppose I should offer a bit of an update on what's going on with me, on the off chance some people out there are actually interested. Although, there isn't really much to report.
Things haven't exactly been great. I've been dealing with my usual bouts of depression and loneliness, as well as various other real life problems I won't go into.
However, I have been continuing to try and keep on working away at my writing and art, although it has been quite a struggle at times. But I'm keeping at it. And I'm gradually chipping away at my commission backlog, slowly but surely. I'm hoping to get back into streaming sometime soon, but I can't make any promises.
The only other thing going on is my birthday, which is on the 27th, this Tuesday. Once again, I'm going to be spending the day single and alone, so it's very unlikely to be a happy day for me. I'm hoping the inevitable bad mood won't set me back too much, but we'll see.
So that's all that's going on with me. Maybe I'll have some more stuff to post soon.

Other Places
Posted 9 years agoWell, a lot of others have done journals like this, so what the hell, maybe I should do one as well. Basically, if FA should go down for any reason, here are other places you can find me and my works.
There is of course my web site, which I really need to get around to updating. That can be found here: http://cyberklaw.com
I do have accounts on a few other furry sites, although I don't really use them. I may or may not upload some of my stuff at some of these places, I haven't decided yet. But if something were to happen to FA, you'd most likely find me at one of these places:
https://cyberklaw.sofurry.com/
https://beta.furrynetwork.com/cyberklaw/
https://www.weasyl.com/~cyberklaw
https://inkbunny.net/Cyberklaw
But for the forseeable future at least, I do plan on staying right here on FA. Whether or not I update my galleries on any of the other places remains to be seen.

No April Update
Posted 9 years agoI will not be doing any more monthly update journals. It just seems a little pointless. The one I posted last month received so little interest and support and ultimately did not help keep me motivated at all. I failed at pretty much every goal I set myself, as everything either stalled completely or is taking me so much longer than I thought.
In fact, the only real thing I accomplished in the last month was writing the first chapter of a brand new story, the idea for which just came to me one day and I had an overwhelming urge to start writing it.
I'm not sure how much longer it'll take me to post more writing or art, or finish off the stuff I want to get finished.

'Save the Day' by D. J. Fahl: A Review
Posted 9 years agoIt's review time again. I seem to be on a furry superheroes kick at the moment, between my previous review of 'The Shadows That Linger', the subject of this one, and 'In The Doghouse of Justice' which I have waiting to be read.
I'm going to be upfront and honest and say that I actually know the author of this book, he's a friend of mine. However, I am going to make this an honest and unbiased review.
So, let's talk about 'Save the Day' by D. J. Fahl, featuring a number of cool interior illustrations by Vince Suzukawa.
It's a furry superhero/gay romance story, focusing mostly on gay couple Jay Carson and Ted Rodriguez. Sick of his boyfriend's constant lateness and missing of appointments, and his lame excuses and outright lies, Jay confronts Ted, demanding honesty. And Ted relents, revealing his big secret: He is actually the renowned superhero Star Coyote, member of superhero team the Extraordinaries.
The book then proceeds to follow their relationship through the ups and downs, the problems and obstacles, that result from this revelation. Can Jay ever come to terms with the fact that his boyfriend has super powers and fights dangerous super villains? That some day, he might not survive one of those battles? And can Ted ever manage to integrate his superhero life and his personal life? Can he ever feel comfortable enough to come out to his team mates?
I'll give away no more spoilers than that. I will say that it is a very good, well-told story that I enjoyed immensely. I would say it can get a little wordy in the first few chapters as it's establishing the world and characters, there's a fair bit of slightly unwieldy exposition, a few obvious info-dumps. But they're not too bad, and once you get past them, the book becomes a lot more special and enjoyable.
And to be fair there is a lot of establishing to be done, world-building being one of the book's major strengths. It quickly becomes obvious that a lot of thought and effort has gone into this world, the way it works, the politics and history surrounding the superheroes and villains, the way the team works, how they handle the security of their loved ones, etc. It really works to help you get invested and engrossed in the story.
Another of the book's major strengths is the characters. The two central characters of Ted and Jay are great, very well rounded and realized, with their own strengths and flaws, and they work well together as a couple.
The other hero characters are all good and likeable as well, even the ones we don't get to spend a whole lot of time with or get to know very well come off as being fully realized and three-dimensional. The villains were all quite interesting as well, a varied bunch, with a wide variety of motivations that did a good job of keeping things interesting.
To sum up then, 'Save the Day' is an excellent book. Yes, it could probably have done with a bit more editing and some cutting back on the exposition in the early chapters. And I suppose it may take some time for some to get used to the writer's rather wordy style. But in my opinion, it is well worth overcoming these things. The book does a great job of blending a superhero tale with a sweet gay romance, telling a compelling story about love and relationships, secrets and honesty, and of course, about saving the day.
This book is highly recommended. I loved it so much, I couldn't stop reading it, and finished it in a day! So go buy it, read it and enjoy it for yourself.

'The Shadows That Linger' by M. Andrew Rudder: A Review
Posted 9 years agoI read this book recently and enjoyed it, and felt like sharing some of my thoughts. Be warned, I'll be trying my best to avoid giving too many spoilers, but a few may creep in.
So what is it about, you may ask? 'The Shadows That Linger' is a gay furry superhero romance novel with a rather interesting idea at it's core, namely a romantic relationship between a superhero and a supervillain.
The villain in question is Puppeteer, a criminal mastermind with psychic mind-reading and controlling powers, a wanted terrorist and head of supervillain group the Consortium. When circumstances leave him critically injured, his life is saved without hesitation by Pariah, a young superhero with healing powers and newest member of superhero team the Protectors. Fascinated by the hero and the details of Pariah's life he accidentally reads in his mind, Puppeteer sets out to try and get to know him better. But as their relationship grows and with a dark and malevolent new villain threatening the world, the main question they must face is can a relationship between them actually work out?
I won't go into the story any more than that to avoid spoilers. Suffice to say, it is a great story, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's not perfect by any means, I personally would have liked to have seen a little more of Puppeteer and Pariah's relationship as it developed than we actually got, but what we did get was still very good and satisfying. And that goes for the book as a whole.
What really helps the book be such a good read are the wonderful set of characters the author has created here. The two main characters really work well, in some ways so very different from each other, but in others very similar. They complement each other well, making their relationship believable and compelling.
Pariah's innocent naivety was rather adorable, and I loved the fact that he'd been through some terrible things, but hadn't let it compromise his morals or damage his good-natured sense of altruism. Puppeteer's moral and emotional complexity was fascinating. He's not straight up evil, he wants to make the world a better place, he's just willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish it, up to and including villainous, terrorist acts and associating with and making use of supervillains who are dangerous and/or psychotic.
Beyond the two leads, there are a nice variety of great characters, both heroes and villains. The author manages to do a good job of making them all very distinct and unique. I particularly liked the flamboyant and fun White Magus, a character its hard not to love. The villains of the Consortium also stood out to me in how they're not all simply evil, they had different goals and desires and reasons for what they do, making them more interesting characters in the process.
I really liked the diverse nature of the cast as well. They're not all American, there are a variety of ethnicities among the characters. For example, both main characters, Pariah and Puppeteer, are Iranian. Coupled with the fact that the story takes the characters to various places around the world, it gives the book a nice bit of international flavour that adds to its charm.
So overall, this is a great book, it does a very good job of establishing it's world and characters and telling a good story with some good ideas. It's a fun and very enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

March Update
Posted 9 years agoA long time ago. I used to try and do regular monthly update journals and I've decided to have a go at doing that again, in the hope that talking about my progress and goals will help keep me motivated and moving forward. It remains to be seen if this actually works.
We're already more than a week into March, so I'm a little late with this. But with being so focused on Hypno Bear Week, sleeping difficulties and work, I haven't managed to get around to it before now.
Working Bears 2
So, a good part of March will probably be spent finishing off Working Bears 2. I've got two more stories to finish writing and a bunch of illustrations to get done. I won't give any estimates as to when it might be done, as every aspect of Working Bears 2 has ended up taking me longer than expected so far. Ideally, I'd like to have the whole thing done by the end of the month. I won't be working on it exclusively however, because that could lead to me burning out on it, I will be taking breaks from it to work on some other things.
Art
I'm not sure how much I'm going to work on individual pics this month, what with most of my art time needing to be spent on other stuff. But if I do, I am determined not to start anything new, just work on finishing stuff I've already started. We'll see what happens.
Commissions
I'm also determined to try and make some good progress on my commissions backlog this month. In fact, I'm going to set myself the goal of trying to have one of them finished off by the end of the month. This is certainly doable, I have a few that are far enough along that I could manage to finish them provided I remain focused. So that's what I'm going to try and do.
Livestreaming
I may very well do some more livestreaming this month. I might see if I can do a regular weekly stream, but I'm not going to make any promises. However, any streaming I do for the foreseeable future will likely be spent working on my 'Fallen Hero' comic. I've neglected it for far too long and want to try and get it finished. And since it originally started as a livestreaming project, it makes sense to use my streams to work on it.
The Corps
I think it's time for me to face facts and finally make the decision about the future of The Corps. So I'm sorry to have to let you all know that The Corps will not be continuing as a comic. I have been thinking about it for a long time, and it simply isn't working. At the rate I'm going, it will never be finished, I will never manage to tell the big epic story I have in mind for it. It's time for a change.
This is not the end of The Corps. I will be reworking it into a prose story, probably with plenty of illustrations, and I'm feeling more and more like that is a better format for it, that it will work better in the long run and it will help my ongoing efforts to get back into my writing more. I have already started thinking about how its going to work as a written story.
Exactly what form the story will take I have yet to decide. A part of me is tempted to see if it could be written for publication, possibly as a series of books or novellas. I'll keep you updated as I decide more. And my apologies to all of you who liked The Corps as a comic. I'm sorry it won't be continuing in that form.
The House of Lazarus #4
One up side to this journal being delayed is that I'm able to report that I have today made a little progress on 'The House of Lazarus'. I happened to take a look at the page I'd been stuck on for so long, the cause of my creative block on the comic, and on the spur of the moment decided to take another crack at it. Before I knew it, I had actually finished drawing the page, which was a surprise. Now, there's still a bunch of pages to be drawn, and then the whole thing then needs to be inked, coloured and scripted, but this is the first bit of progress I've made on this comic in a long time. Maybe I'll even make more progress this month. We'll have to wait and see.

Working Bears 2 Update
Posted 9 years agoIt turns out that I once again vastly overestimated my abilities and how fast I could get things done...
I've been pushing myself to try and get the other parts of Working Bears 2 and their illustrations done by the end of Hypno Bear Week, but its time for me to face facts and accept that's not going to happen. Every part has turned out longer than expected, every picture is taking me longer than I thought it would.
Last night, I was pushing myself to keep going, try to get as much of it done as possible, but had to force myself to take a break as I came close to burning out a little. I was rushing things and my frustration at not being quicker was getting to me.
So, a readjustment to my plans. I'm going to aim to have the next two parts of Working Bears 2 done by the end of Hypno Bear Week. But the last two will have to wait until next week or the week after at the latest (hopefully!).
And of course, I'm going to take breaks from it here and there to relax and work on some other hypno bears stuff, probably do another stream before the end of the week.
My apologies for the delays to anyone who was looking forward to reading the stories. I'm sorry I'm not as quick as I thought I was.

6th Annual Hypno Bear Week
Posted 9 years agoSo, we're now less than a week away from the 6th annual Hypno Bear Week, which starts Sunday 28th February. Spread the word: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19164681/
Of course, I will be doing my best to contribute to the week, and I have, as usual, got a bit ambitious with my plans, possibly biting off more than I can chew. I thought I'd talk about my plans a little, hopefully keep myself motivated...
Working Bears 2
Last year, my main contribution to Hypno Bear Week was my three part illustrated story 'Working Bears'. Well, this year, I'm doing a follow up. If you're not familiar with the original, you can find the three parts of it here:
Part 1 - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/15868551/
Part 2 - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/15882085/
Part 3 - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16130176/
The follow up will actually be made up of five separate stand alone stories, which will be loosely connected, as they happen at around each other, so the events of one story might be mentioned or hinted at in others. I'm hoping it all works out in the end and makes some degree of sense.
I'm already well into working on these stories, and have been for a few weeks now. I'm hoping you'll get to read them next week. But for now, I thought I'd tease you all with some working titles. These are still subject to change, but let the idle speculation commence...
1. Tabloid Troubles
2. A Pleasure Doing Business
3. Victor's Choice
4. The Fox and the Firefighter
5. A Desire for Domination
Art
I have a lot of ideas for hypno bears art kicking around in my head, for various pics and maybe even a short and basic comic. Of course, I can't make any promises as to how much I will manage to complete, but I will do at least some.
I do also want to try and do some illustrations for the stories of Working Bears 2, just as I did for the original. So yeah, I have given myself an awful lot to do.
Livestreams
By a complete coincidence, I actually have next week off work. The upshot of this is that I will be free to do a fair bit of livestreaming during Hypno Bear Week, working on hypno bear related stuff. If you're interested in watching me work, and possibly chatting a little with me while I do, keep an eye out for notifications here on FA and on my twitter.

'Over Time' by Kyell Gold: A Review.
Posted 10 years agoSo yesterday, the ebook version of 'Over Time' by Kyell Gold, the fifth and final book in the Dev and Lee series, was released, meaning I could finally read it. I bought it and proceeded to spend nine hours reading the whole thing in one go. It's still sort of sinking in, my mind is still processing it, but I wanted to write a little something about it. I will be avoiding spoilers here. I might very well write something else about this book and the whole series at another time, something more specific and spoiler-filled. I'm certainly tempted to do so.
If anyone missed my previous journal regarding this series, what it's about, and what I thought of it, you can find it here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6333309/
Right, so on to Over Time. In this book, with the football season over, Dev and Lee attempt to figure out the future of their relationship, a process complicated by them being caught up in the drama and problems of various family and friends.
What can I say about this book? I love the series and I love the characters, so yeah, I loved this book. It was so great to get to read some more of Dev and Lee. I do feel a degree of sadness at having reached the end of their story, even though it was a sweet and satisfying ending. I do hope Kyell Gold revisits these guys at some point in the future.
Overall, 'Over Time' feels quite an optimistic book. Despite the problems and difficulties faced by the characters and not everything ending well for everyone, it is ultimately a very hopeful and uplifting story about dealing with the changes life throws at you. It's about accepting who you are. It's about facing the future, whatever it may bring. At least, that's my opinion, my interpretation.
The story did manage a few shocks and surprises along the way, as well as fun moments, sweet moments , heart-warming moments, drama and romance. Basically, all the stuff the series as a whole has been very good at. So, if you enjoyed the previous books in the series, you'll like this one too.
So yeah, if you haven't got the message yet, this is another book I whole-heartedly recommend!

Thoughts and Things
Posted 10 years agoI thought it was time to bore you all with another update journal type thing. So here's a few things that are on my mind right now, on the off chance that anyone is interested...
Art and Writing
Things are still going slow on this front, but gradually improving. I have been getting into the habit of working on my art and writing every day, doing at least a little bit. And I've been keeping to that. Well, except for yesterday, but I was ill (and am still recovering right now but doing a lot better) so that couldn't he helped. I am hoping to have a new pic ready to post very soon.
As I get better, I'm going to try and focus less and less on starting new stuff and more and more on finishing stuff. I'll still work on brand new stuff here and there, but I have a hell of a lot of stuff on my plate that needs finishing, commissions, stories, comics, art, so I want to try and put the majority of my art time into getting them done.
Of course, there is an exception to this, a certain event coming up I will be working on some new stuff for...
Hypno Bear Week
Yes, this year's Hypno Bear Week is on the horizon. As far as I know, Talisment hasn't yet set a date for it, but it should be at the end of February. But I've already got a number of ideas for it. I seem to be doing my usual thing of getting too ambitious and coming up with ideas for a bunch of stuff that I'll not manage to get done in time and either have to abandon or finish late...
That said, I have tentatively made a start on writing some stories for the event, so I'm giving myself plenty of time to get stuff done. We'll have to see how well I do over the coming month. I am hoping to have recovered enough on the art front by then to do some streaming during the week itself, but I can't promise anything.
Over Time
Damn, I really want to read Kyell Gold's new book 'Over Time', the fifth and final book in his 'Dev and Lee' series, which I love (one of my unfinished things I need to get done is some Dev and Lee fan art). I've been waiting for it for more than a year. But unfortunately, I couldn't afford to order it, especially with the international postage. But as far as I know, the ebook version is due to be released on Monday, and I will be able to afford that, so will be buying and reading it then and I am looking forward to it. I may very well write some form of review journal for it when I'm done.
My anticipation has only been increased by my recent discovery that the first chapter has been posted here on FA as a preview. I've already read it several times. It contains many big spoilers for the previous book 'Uncovered' so don't read it if you haven't read that yet, but anyone who might be interested, it can be found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/18632111/
Thanks to New Watchers
I just thought I'd finish up by saying thanks to everyone who has watched me recently. I appreciate your interest in my work and I'm sorry I don't have the time to thank you all individually. I hope you all continue to like what you see from me.
