My Loves, My Hates
Posted 18 years agoI remember seeing something like this in one of Duncan's journals, soooo, whilst I take a break from studying for a bit (to give my brain a rest), this is what I love, and what I hate about the furry fandom
I Love
1) Fursuits
Yep, whatever your personal views on fursuits may be, I absolutely love the damn things. Serious, toony, partial, full, whatever, makes no difference to me, if it's fuzzy and cute, then you can expect stalkage from me and my busy camera finger.
2) Furmeets
Nothing quite like a small, personal gathering of a few local furs to brighten one's day. Sure they can be rife with drama and lulz, but so is life in general. I just love the oppurtunity to hang out with like minded fuzzy folk, grab a beer or two and just kick back and relax with some good furry friends.
3) Being Drawn
Yeah ok, I know what you're thinking, but c'mon, who doesn't like having their character being drawn? Be it a trade, a gift a commission or whatever, I always like to see how other artists interpret my own characters to their style, regardless of ability. If you've taken the time to draw one of my characters, it means a lot to me, even if I don't seem to show it.
4) The Sense of Community
Yup, unlike pretty much ANY subculture out there, I find that you put a bunch of furs together in a room, you're guaranteed to have a good time. We are generally goofy, silly, fun people, and it's things like that, that I love, I like to see furs getting together and really sharing a community spirit, it just gives me warm fuzzies all over.
5) Drawing
In case you hadn't guessed, I love drawing. I may not be 100% happy with how my stuff turns out most of the time, but I really enjoy putting things onto paper and hearing how people react. I know I don't always reply to your comments, but I read every one, and appreciate them a great deal.
I Hate
1) Art Whores
Nothing pisses me off quite like people who repeatedly bug me (either directly or indirectly) to draw them. If I don't like you, I'm not going to draw you, and if you keep hastling me, I'm not going to like you. So you get trapped in a loop y'see.
2) Overly-Excitable Furs
We all know the type. The ones who go "HAI DO U LAIK FURRIEZ LOL?" when they talk to you on MSN. No, I'm just on this website for lulz, OBVIOUSLY. I cannot stand "stereotype" furs, those who have every other line they type as "glomp" or "hug". Drives me utterly insane. Just because you're a furry doesn't mean you should be devoid of the ability to maintain a semi-intelligent conversation. Come at me on MSN with *glomp" *hug* or any other such derivative with your first time speaking to me, and I guarantee it will be your last. First impressions count a lot with me.
3) Fav and Comment Whores
Imagine if you will, genericfurry. He is just starting out in the art scene, which is cool y'know? His stuff is about average. You look at his "watching" list. "GenericFurry is watching 85394693269367 people" Does he appreciate all those artists? NO. FUCK NO. He's watched that many in an effort to get people to look at his page so his precious "pageviews" counter can go up a bit. When the hell did pageviews become such a big fucking deal? Seriously now.
4) Dickheads
Goes without saying really, I've met some really nasty customers in my time, those who actively attack someone's art because they don't think it's good enough. If you think it sucks..... DON'T LOOK AT IT. Christ, not everyone is gonna be the next Adam Wan. Maybe their stuff does suck, but is that any reason for you to single them out for it? You're not exactly Da Vinci yourself, you fucking mong.
5) Broken Record furs
What do I mean by this? Furs who say THE EXACT SAME THING on everything you submit EVER. It's like they have a copy/paste primed and ready for when you click on the submit button. It's not asking much for some varied commenting is it? If I see someone saying "Great Work" and nothing else, every single time, it makes me want to shoot a stream of highly pressurised blood out of my eye.
So there we are! Loves and Hates, so now you know how much of a prick I am ;)

Exam One: FINITO!
Posted 18 years agoYus! Some of you know that last night I was shitting myself about the exam I was having today! Well I am pleased to report that it's over and done, and it went really well! Those audio notes payed off brilliantly Leon, thank you so much for the idea *kisses*
Everything I had prepared for turned up, for once I was spoilt for choice! Out of the 9 questions available, I could have comfortably answered 6 of them, lucky thing I only had to do 2, eh? :D
Got one more now on friday, then my exams are done and dusted, and i can finally relax for a while.

yeah, this is in one way bad, but in so many ways good. The decree absolute for my parents divorce has now gone through, which sucks, but they've basically been divorced for the past 4 years, this piece of paper only makes it official.
So why the happy? Well, now that it has gone through, the hold on my bonds have been released, in other words my father can't stop me from claiming them before I'm 21 (even though it's less than a month til then XD) and I have just recieved a whopping £3,500, or for all you americans out there, approximately US$7,000.
On top of this, I'm getting about another £800/US$1,600 for my 21st bday in about 3 weeks time.

Posted 18 years agoDream Theater's new album is better than I could have ever hoped for. It's the best album since Scenes From a Memory (a very good thing) and easily the best album I've heard in the last 10 years.
I will be buying the special edition when it comes out, if only for the 90 minute documentary on the included dvd *drools*

1. I will only take Paypal as payment

a) Sketch $2
b) Inked (no colour) $5
