ok, after yesterday's journal and all the replies I got, I realise that I was being a bit of an ass saying some of the things I said, and am now worried that most think I'm only in the fandom to become a "celebrity"

not the case of course, I was just feeling a bit shitty about myself and needed something as an outlet. Thank you to all who put up with my incessant whining >_>

I don't want to get all emo with things, it's not what I do (well, not on a normal day anyways). Anywhoooooo....

I guess I'm just getting fed up with where I stand from an artistic point in the Fur Community. I'm not disatisfied with the quality of my work, I'm happy with that, I just feel that I'm not going anywhere forward with it. I feel that in 5 years time I'll be no better known than I am now. Sure I'll have more watchers (hopefully XD) but will people be saying "you seen Ember's stuff?" to each other? Nah, doubt it.

Big-headed of me? Yeah, it is. But come on, we all want to be recognised and respected for our art, lets be honest here, and as much as I love you guys and appreciate what you've all done and said, I feel trapped for some reason, like I'm caught in an "artistic limbo".

My recent fatfur story has gotten so much attention, almost 600 views in a week, and I'm starting to think that the only way to get any sort of "status" in this community is to draw porn for hundreds of faceless people to whack off to *rolls eyes*. Sure, I COULD do nothing but X-rated art, but that's just not me, I don't draw cock, I just don't. So what is a Komodog to do? Write about furs getting hard for the rest of my life? *shakes head* once in a while yeah, but that's not what I want to be known for.

So what is it that makes a common-or-garden fur into a legendary one like Zen, or Adam Wan? It sure as hell isn't volume of work, it's quality. Why is it that the "legendary" furs are 9/10 times, bloody art Gods? Is this fandom so superficial that only those who can draw are carried on the shoulders of giants? Whatever happened to revering people for being genuinely nice blokes? (not that I'm saying Zen or Mr Wan aren't mind you :P)

Can it really boil down to the fact that the furry fandom is so conceited that only those who draw things that give them a 10 foot boner are considered "awesome"? Hmmm, Ember be not pleased with this state of affairs.

OK, I need to get something off my chest. As I was walking around Cardiff today with Leon and Captain Fox, i noticed something that although it happens every year, it has only really irked me enough to bitch about it now.

Every year, on March the 17th, it is the Irish Patron saint's, Saint Patrick, national day. NOTE THE IRISH PART. As I'm walking through town, 9/10 people have something Irish on, be it a shamrock, a stupid Guiness hat, or whatever.

THIS IS FUCKING WALES GODDAMMIT. This is NOT Ireland. Earlier this month (on the 1st of March) it was Wales' patron saint's day (Saint David) and I saw FUCK ALL people wearing anything welsh. At all. OOH BUT HOLY FUCKING JESUS CHRIST, as soon as it's the Irish day, EVERYONE wants to be a bit Irish!!! Will we celebrate our own day? NO! FUCK NO! CAN'T DO THAT! But OBVIOUSLY it's FINE to go nuts for the festival of ANOTHER FUCKING COUNTRY.

Here's an idea, why don't we let the IRISH celebrate Paddy's day for a change? Every single fucking country in the entire goddamn world has a fucking orgasm as soon as Paddy's day in mentioned, but when it comes to their own day? NOT FUCKING INTERESTED THNX.

I know there are lots of Irish people in other countries (eg USA) but seriously now, 90% of people with Irish blood? FUCKING BULLSHIT. To all you "Irish" out there, stop fucking pretending you have the right to celebrate someone else's festival and stick to your own ones for christ's sake. I bet you wouldn't celebrate St George's day with the same vigour if you had some English blood would you? So stop jumping on the OMG IRELAND IZ TEH COOL, MUST FOLLOW THE CROWD mentality, and leave Paddy's day to those who are PROPER FUCKING IRISH.

OK, just got back from the doctor's. he says it seems unlikely that I have lymphatic cancer, as when he pressed on the growth, it fucking hurt!!! Apparantly that would not have hurt had it been a cancerous growth.

It does seem however that I have an infected lymph node, which is going to continue to make me unwell and pissy for the next week or so. If its not died down after 2 weeks, I was told to come back and see him.

got a swelling on the right hand side of my neck, where my lymph node is (under my jaw and on my neck)

not sure what it is, but I've had it since wednesday and not felt very well since then. With any luck its nothing but a smiple lymph node infection. Got to wait another 5 and a half hours before the surgery opens for the afternoon though.

I'll keep you all posted when I know whats wrong with me :/

aye, tis the day of the patron saint of Wales, so be merry! Pick daffodils! Draw a dragon!

Hewwo all :3 Went to another Welsh furry gathering on saturday. Went there with Leon, and met up with everyone at the central train station. It was good to see so many people decked out with a combination of tails, paws, ears, horns, an partial suits :D There were about 15 of us there if memory serves.

Met a few new ones as well, Spadge, Moonshadow, Mhisani, you guys all rocked very much ^^ always nice to meet new furs, especially local ones :3

We spent time drinking coffee, scaring norms in the town centre, and then going to the cinema to watch Hot Fuzz (which me and Leon had already seen XD) After that we congegated to Pizza Hut where we ate, and made merry. After that, myself, Leon and Crazywolf called it a night and Crazy was kind enough to offer myself and Leon a lift back to my place :P

All in all, a good day was had ^^
