It's been forever since I updated this journal, but I needed to get that New Years one off my front page.

I've been doing alright keeping up with my art and the like. One thing I'm gonna put in here is that I'm gonna experiment with doodling some simple anthro art. Nothing complex just some practice sketches of my characters and whatever else I can think of.

Just want to let ya'll know that I'm okay. The storm passed to the east and the most my area got was a few drops of rain and some mild wind. Unfortunately New Orleans and the Mississippi coast got hit very hard. Please keep those folks in your thoughts and prayers.

Got a potential hurricane possibly headed my way either Sunday or Monday of next week. I don't know how strong it could be yet so I'm just giving an heads up in case power gets knocked out and I can't come on line. I'll keep ya'll updated as things progress.

EDIT: Ida is now forecast to make landfall as a major hurricane(Cat 3+). Regardless of what part of the state it hits the area where I live will receive heavy rain and high winds so power could be out for a few days at the least. I'll keep ya'll updated as the situation progresses.

I don't post journals very often but this is an important subject.

I got my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine today. It requires two shots and I go back for the second towards the end of the month. I feel great thus far and haven't had any ill affects. Anyone who's eligible to get a shot should get one in order to protect themselves from this very dangerous and contagious disease.

Short update:


I'm okay. I rode out the storm at my brother's house and am currently staying there since my house has no power. It didn't take any damage and I mostly got tree branches down in my backyard. Unfortunately people to the west and south of where I live got hit a lot worst with many loosing their homes and it could be months before everything gets restored.


I'll have more updates in the coming days.

I might get hit by not one but two tropical storms/hurricanes next week. Marco will arrive sometime on Tuesday and Laura on Wednesday. The biggest worry I have is all the rain since it floods pretty easily where I live also overly saturated soil makes it easier for the wind to blow over trees.


I'll keep ya'll updated as things progress but depending on what happens there may be a period of time where I'm not able to be online.

As if 2020 wasn't sooo wonderful already, there's now a tropical storm in the gulf that's forecasted to bring a crap ton of rain to some parts of my state by thee end of the week.


I've always been one to look on the bright side of things but between this, Corona and the current racial unrest 2020 seems determined to drive everybody to wits end...


All I'm gonna say is, hang in there everyone. There's always a light at the end of the tunnel.
