With Great Power
Posted 11 years agoHey all,
So, I'm currently producing a social game to fill a niche on the internet. It is taking cues from some popular social environments and will be a cross-platform, interest-Oriented live forum. I hope to see many of you online when it releases in May!
Most of my time is dedicated towards making this endeavor go live. Between that and a wonderful girlfriend, some hobbies have gone to the wayside. I'd like to visit and contribute more, but, as it is, I can't find the time to finish things I've already promised. So, I'll keep y'all updated, don't think I don't miss y'all, and I will be back as soon as things start to come together. So much can happen in a year.
Your friend,
Ike

The MSI Dragon
Posted 12 years agoWell, my ASUS laptop decided to give up the ghost. SATA controller failure means no internal drives will work before a new motherboard.
Pretty much everything critical was saved externally, and I could afford to replace the motherboard, but forget opening up this four-year-old ASUS to the bones and swapping.. just not worth it to me anymore.
So, enter the next upgrade in my computer career.. one that I feel suits me all too well.
When I bought the MSI GT70-0NE, I chose it on specification alone. I didn't know until it arrived that the top-tier GT70 was dubbed the "Dragon Edition".
Needless to say, I was a happy one. The gleaming brushed-velvet outer lid is etched with a fierce coiled dragon emblem, akin to the wrist mat below the keyboard. Coincidentally, the two-horned dragon design is highly reminiscent of Ike in shape, so I naturally flipped giddies like a hatchling.
The keyboard has three illumination zones, so, of course, orange, yellow, orange. I got a draggy belly on my keyboard now.
Got the tablet and SAI set back up so I can finish my first commission, which is for
rykoo, among other ongoing things.
Next week, hopefully, I am moving in to a house with my awesome girlfriend. I'm super excited; I'm already happy to be moving out of here, but especially so to be sharing it with her. <3
Thanks for the read.

Posted 12 years agoBack from Furry Fiesta 2013! Wow, what an awesome con. Got the opportunity to meat some great friends and furs alike, and had some awesome room party fun, without a doubt.
Business plan is finalized, and I'll be talking to investors starting tomorrow. Thanks very, very much for advice this weekend, especially
Merystic for actually getting me some contacts. Very cool.
Doodling for
,
, and
, paying forward some gifts from the con.
is getting shaded, and I may also take a commission soon, if I can.
I'm starting a story with
as well, which may be posted upon completion, or progress. Look out for that, should prove fun. Alongside, I am writing some of my own, including the origin story of my own orange dragon 'sona.
Waiting on a couple of commissions, especially a reference sheet, so I can keep commissioning. I plan on updating FA a lot more in the future as well, and trying to overall stay in contact with friends.
Anyway, just wanted to stop in and say, thanks for being such an awesome community of people. Love you guys.

Selling Grey Wolf Full Suit!
Posted 12 years agohttp://www.thedealersden.com/auctio.....tion_id=112697
The time has come for me to pass the wolf suit on to it's next user. It has brought me great joy, which I have spread to many others. Now, in order to accommodate the acquisition of the Ike suit, I'm parting with this one. It is in EXCELLENT condition, cleaned, and ready to go.
The previous owner of the suit was
razorwulff , it comes with a pretty awesome legacy. Check out the auction there on the Dealer's Den; bidding will begin at noon today and go for five days.
Pass this along if you know somebody looking for a suit!

Ike suit might happen!
Posted 12 years agoHeard back from my suit artist, who I know to be a skilled suit maker, and it seems work is nearing completion on the Ike suit! Being that the only WIP I have seen has been the jumpsuit and foam head, I am quite excited to see the next update. Ike's coming to life guys! There will be NO end to the shenanigans.
Update - Shift Art
Posted 12 years agoHey guys, got back to work this week. Thought I would upload a quick example of what I worked on today:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9706232/
This would be about the minimum of a shift art slot. Normally I would have enough time to add some more background or character shading. This was worked on leisurely as a WIP for another piece. Again, if you're interested in a slot for something like this, post a comment here, or here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4223257/
Include a ref, and a simple idea for a pose or situation if you want. If you don't include an idea, I'll do whatever I want with your character. Not likely to be adult art.
Next up is
ebonysilver, who is on the shift for Friday.
Today, the dragon made no sales on call. The goal for Friday is at least three! n.^.n

Next week - shift art.
Posted 12 years agoOk, so, I am a tech support representative. I service over a VoIP phone mainly, and, when I'm not on call, I'm basically just staring down my snout at a computer screen. My computer, though, which is cool.
Recently I've been passing the idle time with PCSX2 (a PS2 emulator) and some classic Armored Core 2. Occasionally I've gotten to sketching in the idle as well, but I find it's hard to stay focused enough as the calls ring in in short intervals. Well, next week I'm going to try something to burn a day or two of idle.
I'm not calling it requests, but I want to start trying to draw more, seriously. If a few people are interested, throw out some relatively simple ideas. I'll grab one during a shift next week, work on it throughout the idle, and post it when the shift ends, regardless of completion level. The object is improvement.
This could be a fun way to produce some art, kill some time, and reconcile technique with time spent, hopefully. Post refs in the comments, and a simple idea if you so desire.
With the upload, I will include some fun facts or call stats. Cause why not? Humans love stats.

Happy new year n.^.n
Posted 12 years agoHappy New Year everybody.. glad it came, don't take it for granted.
What the heck is going on with Ike
Posted 12 years ago Howdy, to the few who read,
I think it's about time to open maw and call out that I'm still alive. My spiny head is spinning, but it remains attached for the time being. Anyway, for those who wonder what's up:
I went ahead and lost my last job as efficiently as possible. This amuses me greatly, especially granted the fact that my departure nearly caused the collapse of the company (the only tech to fill my role got very sick for several weeks, starting on the same day). If you are curious as to why I harbor[ed] contempt for this company, it's far too long a story. Suffice it to say, the proprietors were more unscrupulous than a lazy puppy, and the piss always rolls down the totem pole.
In the wake of that departed position follows my current employment, for one of the largest helpdesk contractors in the world. This position, which allows me to work at home (read: anywhere), has been an absolute blessing.
I thought driving a cool car sucked, so I totalled it. After three previous impacts to the vehicle at over 40mph each, driving the car over a curb while turning into a parking lot was the injury that somehow achieved 3/4 the car's value in damage. This was horrifying, and I went several weeks without a vehicle (much to my small-winged dismay). A ray of light shone through when a tech from my local VW dealership traded in his personal GLI, complete with V6, manual tranny, intake, exhaust, etc. I plucked that car from the lot like a four-leaf clover.
In between these things, I've been working on the graphic design and technical documentation for a fresh website, which I hope you all have the opportunity and interest to use. Hopefully it will have quite an influence. Currently can't say much more on that, but when it's live, my fellow furs will be some of the first to know. ;)
Why no art? I've been asking myself that same question. Or rather, trying to torture myself until I spill an answer.. what is keeping me from being inspired to draw more?
To tell the truth, I made a mistake of promising so much to so many; I feel rather embarrassed about all the requests I "accepted", and then left alone. Honestly, it is quite hard for me to put passion into an image requested by another, even solely for the sake of practice. Especially as a developing artist, this has stagnated my progress; I want to draw and evolve, but I can't bring myself to invest more time in requests. So, instead, I don't work on anything. It's been affecting my drawing, my writing, and even my involvement in the community, to a huge degree.
Well, I'm done with that. Any requests I've offered which are in progress remain on my HDD, but at this point I am outright stating that I'm done with those until they grab my attention, or I've had more experience. Soon, I want to open $2-3 commissions to try and get practice posing and... arting.
TL;DR, Life's good after it sucks, I want to art but I'm too sissy.
Thanks, to the fewer who kept reading.

Back from AC!
Posted 13 years agoWow! Life sure has started back up quickly, as I'm sure most of you know. After our return, it was straight back to work for this dragon.
It was so great seeing you all again at Anthrocon! I met a great many new friends, and amazing artists. Thanks for the good time, y'all, it was a blast.
Anyway, I've been idle for multiple weeks at this point, struggling to keep up with other responsibilities, but I feel the situation improving. I'll have a new house to move into in a few short weeks, and I'm counting down the days until then.
As for the silence on FA, Anthrocon has left me quite inspired. I owe a little more work to
and a full piece to
, as well as some promotional art that I'd like to finish before August.
That's all I have for now; I need to survive one more day of reality, and then I'll be back in the saddle. :D

The numbers are in! The second winner, by random number generator, is
and
will be receiving each one full-color commission slot from me.
These will be completed at my earliest convenience, just like a paid commission; WIP's will be sent as progress is made this week :D
I also owe folder icons to two people! These are in the works. Expect them tonight or tomorrow.
As for request art, it is on the backburner; every piece is in some stage of completion, and they just get finished when they get finished. They are free, after all. Currently, adult requests are on hold, until I've released some more clean art. That's where those are, if you're wondering. I don't think you'll regret waiting.... :)
Anything else, just shout or note me!

Art raffle!
Posted 13 years agoHowdy all!
I'm starting to get a balanced schedule down, and I'm ready to take on a few art projects!
However, I think before I expect to be commissioned, it would help to see what my commissions would look like!
So, I'm going to hold an art raffle! 2 winners, selected by chance, will receive full-color commission-quality art from me.
All you have to do to enter is:
1) post a journal to spread the word
2) link to the journal in the comments
3) link to a character ref I can use
4) what you want to see this character doing :)
Entry window terminates at 6:00PM CST on 3/27 for the first winner, and the same time on 3/29 for the second.
Good luck to all! :)

Song-Inspired art requests by LadyMacBeth!

Posted 13 years agoI need to find a fursuit artist who can complete a suit in a month flat, or less.
Yeah, right.
Well, if anybody knows of any artists that are open, and possibly willing to work with the materials that I supply, please let me know as soon as possible.
Thanks, guys.

Requests chosen - situation report and art plans
Posted 14 years agoAlright! SO here's the deal:
Over the next few weeks, the following people will be receiving art from me:
zoryclip
luxie286
FoxxeyFoxx
fuzzytoaster
icreatedfire
And the following people will be receiving art from
IoF (also me, haha):
jinuhinu
Medibun
aaron23132
8Echo
DaveyWolf
NightWolfRose
Raidus
blackfurrynight
Hintanoneko
faeoori
KtarAramee
Sekaru
Blaze150
EbonySilver

Yes, I am taking all of the requests. The way it's going to work is: the top few requests I choose will receive full color work; the rest will get flat colors or sketches, but everybody will get something :3
Now, I don't do art on a schedule, but I'm slowly increasing the amount of work I can do each night, and am planning to do a significant amount over the thanksgiving break.

Posted 14 years agoHere's how this is going to work.
I've opened a second account for adult art and commissions:

I need to populate a price sheet for commissions! And to do that, I will need examples. Now, I'm not opening commissions soon, but I'd like to have a good amount of time to work on these requests.
So, make a journal advertising this one (if you want, I'm not requiring it but I would dig it), and then a ref of you and your adult idea. I will do one or two characters, male, female, in any arrangement, with any fetish you can think of XD note it to me if you have to.
I will be picking just a few requests to do in different styles. They will be picked based on what I want to draw the most compared with what will make the best examples. It would be typical of me to choose the more extreme ideas, FYI. :3
So, have at it.
