Alive!
Posted 14 years agoIt's been two years...! Can't believe it. I'm finally venturing back on the Internets to tie up all those loose ends I left oh so long ago. Hi there, everyone, you all seem as rambunctious as ever. I'm so sorry if I worried or upset anyone by vanishing.
To those who never got their commissions: I'm going through all the logs and will be contacting you. If I don't, please bop me over the head with a mallet. I can either do you a new drawing, finish your old one, or just plain refund you.
It's good to be back. =)

This flight business
Posted 16 years agoGotta love flying over the holidays. So Salt Lake City was completely snowed in. My flight to Las Vegas (along with every other flight in the airport) was delayed for 5 hours, which means I missed my connection to Ontario, which would have meant that I would miss my connection to Germany the next morning...
Amazingly, though, we were able to work magic with my reservations, and I'll still make it, although I'll be a day late. So far, I've been bailed out of disaster twice by amazing family members (as well as having my aunt help me out with changing reservations/comforting me as I freaked out).
I was really amazed at how supportive everyone was at the airport(s). There was a lot of bonding time between us passengers as we waited our 5 hours in the terminal, and the whole time, a flight employee went above and beyond his duty by keeping us as up-to-date as he could with what was happening to our planes. In addition, at Las Vegas, I was amazed by how dedicated the service counter lady was at trying to make sure everyone on standby was able to make it (I didn't make the cut, but not for her lack of trying). It was freaking midnight and it was the last flight of the day for her but she still worked overtime to try and get everyone situated.
The Christmas spirit is definitely strong here. :)
Of course, my baggage is still MIA. It got "voluntary separation"-ed at Salt Lake and is supposed to "eventually arrive at your final destination." I'd rather go see my family without baggage than not see them at all, but I kind of want to be able to give them their Christmas presents too. :/
THE POINT OF THIS JOURNAL IS: If I don't give out adoptables on the 22nd it is because I am on an airplane and therefore do not have Internet.

Traveling, and Draw-For-Your-Relatives syndrome
Posted 16 years agoWow, the adoptables were a big success. My heartfelt thanks goes out to everyone who bought them--the money from them allowed me to buy Christmas presents for my family, and helped me through the minor rent crisis I went through earlier this month. It's always good to have a roof to stay under when the weather is as cold as it is now!
To all who ordered: I am sending out the adoptables on the 22nd.
Also, lol at travel plans. I am going to Germany to visit my family for the holidays, and TWO DAYS AGO I found out that I actually have to leave from Ontario California, not SLC Utah, in order for my military travel orders to be valid. Whoops! So a few hours of frantic scrabbling later we got some tickets to California and coerced my aunt into picking me up and letting me sleep over for the night.
I'm glad that it all worked out. But still... wee stress. I also am now obliged to do some artistic tidbit for my aunt as a thank you for the help. Does anyone else get this in their families--the Automatic You're-Supposed-to-Draw-Your-Relatives-Something syndrome? Where you're expected to do art for every relative and their dog for free? Out of Christmas or birthday ideas?--Have Danke do a portrait! Or five! The perfect personal gift!
fffgghghffsd.
Not like I'm ungrateful for my aunt's help or anything. She's amazing for taking me in on such short notice. But I sorta wish I didn't have such a reputation in my family as an artist. Maybe I should take up drawing extreme, off-the-wall furry fetishes and see how much they want me to draw them free stuff then.

Christmas Adopts--CLOSED
Posted 17 years agoThat's right, I made some. They make a great inexpensive gift for friends!
Check them out here.
Finals make it impossible for me to open up normal Christmas commissions, and I'm trying to save up to get some special presents for my amazing roommates. So I want to see how these will go over instead. You know you want one. Those adorable eyes are calling to you.
Here's the rundown:
--These adoptables will be done by Dec. 22 (2008! :P) at the latest.
--You can have as many slots as you want!
--I will not do any explicit or fetishistic edits.
--All payment must be done via Paypal (dankekitten@googlemail.com) and payment MUST BE RECEIVED BY DEC. 19TH (Friday). I will not do your adoptable until I have your payment, and if you fail to pay by the deadline, you forfeit your slot.
--'Lineart edits' means anything besides color changes, i.e. actually redrawing any part of the animal or decorations. This can be exploited to an extent--for example, fishnets don't technically need line edits.
--I will PM a full-size adoptable (pictured on the submission) to the person who ordered the adoptable. It's your responsibility to get them to their recipients!
TO ORDER:
1. Pick whether you want a normal, minor edits, or major edits adoptable by reading through the descriptions.
2. Fill out the form at the bottom.
3. PM the form to me, and be sure to send payment to my Paypal by the 19th.
NORMAL: $5 CLOSED
Choose from one of the five default lineart sets (cat, big cat, wolf, fox, dragon). Fill out the form and I'll customize the colors to your character! No lineart edits are allowed for these slots.
(Unlimited??? Unless I somehow hit 15 slots)
1. Ookami-Girl
2. CommodoreMarie
3. foxyfennec
4, Yoshi_foxburr
5. Yoshi_foxburr
6. CommodoreMarie
7. CommodoreMarie
8. Eura
MINOR LINE EDITS: $10 CLOSED
Choose one of the default lineart sets (cat, big cat, wolf, fox, dragon) and fill out the form. You are allowed minor lineart edits on the animal (jewelry, slightly different tail/ears, wings, etc). Major line edits (that would drastically alter the entire thing) are not allowed. If you're not sure about whether your edits would be considered 'minor' or 'major', send me a PM.
1. mxgurl89
2. Eura
3. Emerald_Draconis
4. NeoScribbles
5. Artic
MAJOR LINE EDITS: $15 (CLOSED)
Free rein! Fill out the form and pick the lineart set that matches best, and I'll edit just about anything on the animal. (Please be specific in what you want.) You want a wooly mammoth adoptable? Fine. However, this is not just another version of a commission slot--it will still look like the other adoptables in terms of pose and I will not drastically redraw the box or candy cane. You can go wild otherwise, though.

Christmas present customizables?
Posted 17 years agoWould anyone be interested in buying special Christmas edition customizables? Basically, they'd all have the same basic lineart but would be customized to whatever sona/character you want. And they could have lineart edits if you paid extra. Like... the same way people make scads of those oober popular avatars and switch them around a bit to fit the character they're portraying.
I'm just asking because I'm going to be busy doing Christmas presents for friends and family and I probably won't have time to open up full-blown Christmas commissions. This way people would be able to get a fun little present for their friends. :)

All proceeds will go towards the care of my dearest pet, Herbie, and his two Cory Cat friends. The tank I got him with is waaay too small for a goldfish of his size and he badly needs more fin room as he's starting to develop swim bladder problems. Poor little guy...

Commission Information
Posted 17 years agoCommission Information
Let's try out this whole commission deal. Posted here because the 'commission info' section doesn't support BBcode.
Commissions are currently closed.
To start:
--No pr0nz, no naughty bits. I'll draw nude characters as long as the fur hides everything.
--I work better the more specific you are. Refs and specific requests make me very happy. On the flip side, “Get creative with the pose” is not what I want to hear, and I may draw your character doing something embarrassing just to spite you.
--I require the entire payment before I send the picture. I prefer having payment sent before I start.
--I accept paypal (preferred), check, money order, and concealed cash.
Commission Types
Sketches--N/A because my sketches are utter crap.
Lineart-- $12
Extra characters--add $5 each
[Example] [Example 2]
Simple shading--$25
Extra characters--add $7 each
[Example] [Example 2]
Detailed/lineless shading--$35
Extra characters--add $10 each
Please specify whether you want lineless or not. Also, I won't even attempt complex cel shading for anyone because it breaks my brain every time I go near it.
[Example] [Example 2] [Example 3]
Ref sheets (2 view)--$23
Ref sheets (3 view)--$30
Add more views (feral form, etc)--add $7 each
These will include flat color front, side and back views along with a few detail shots and an optional bio.
[Example]
Icons--$7
Simple animation (blinking, smiling etc)--add $3
Complex animation--I don't have decent examples right now. Cost pending.
(I don't really have any good examples of icons. PS... wait a while on the first example. It's actually animated... I used to give people a good scare with it.)
[Example] [Example 2]
Badges--$20
...I have no examples of badges! At all! Haha, I fail at life.
Backgrounds
Unless you pay for more, pictures will come with a flat/gradient background or something extremely simple like clouds or a cutesy pattern.
If you want a real background, add $10 to the price.
[Example]
If you want something superkiller-brainmeltingly complex like a crowded marketplace or a sweeping aerial view of the city, you'll need to cough up $20 for it.
Sorry for the price, but most of the time backgrounds take as much if not more time than doing the character itself.

I'm back!
Posted 17 years agoFinally! I am back, armed with a new shiny laptop that runs Photoshop beautifully--it would have cost almost as much to replace my old laptop's screen as it would to just buy a new one, so I buckled and splurged (plus a two-year accidental damage warranty!) I have nothing left in my bank account as a result, but I have enough food to last me for a while, so it's not a worry.
Expect me to keep up with events and art now, and expect more updates to my art log as well.
Geez, my first experiences with FA have been awfully rocky. Hopefully I'm over the worst now.

Good grief.
Posted 17 years agoJust so everyone knows... I'm not posting any artwork because yesterday, I knocked my laptop onto the floor and now 75% of the screen is completely FUBAR. All pretty black-and-white spiderwebs and colored vertical lines.
I'll see what I can't do about doing some artwork on campus computers (and seeing if my laptop warranty covers this mess!)
By the way, thank you to everyone for giving me such a warm welcome to this site. Your kind words have made me feel very loved! <3

Posted 17 years agoI finally found my tablet pen, so now I can actually draw stuff.
I'm finally going through with my resolution to draw at least an hour every day. I'll be posting daily updates on my Livejournal if anyone wants to see what I'm up to!
