Yep. I'm back from con.
Was fun. Spent lots of time with friends, derping and overall having fun.

Artist's alley was another story... That was... Interesting. Long story short, they couldn't figure out how they were going to run it. There were only 6 table spots (half of a table). A lot of people were left very unhappy. I was lucky enough to get in all three days. If I hadn't, I wouldn't have made even with what I spent getting there. I only JUST made that. lol.

Anywho, totally worth it to spend time with awesome people. :3

Been working my butt off today getting my webpage and TOS updated to something much more professional.
Lots of new stuff added to the TOS.
Also added three new items to my products list that will hopefully fill some of the price gap.
Hopefully my new site design will be much easier to read and navigate.

For large pieces in the future. Since they're going to be at a quality that would be best for printing.
Would it be fine to start offering prints of said artwork at conventions or online, even if the artwork in question were a commission?
I've heard that many other artists do. I've always wondered about it, but have yet to do anything like that.

Of coarse we're talking about 7x9 and up, not badges or ref sheets or anything like that.

To other artists.
Do you sell prints of commissioned artwork? Is that a good thing to do?
Would you recommend doing that as a source of extra income?
How would one go about doing that?
What printing place do you use? (local or online?)

To Commissioners.
If you commission (large) art from someone, how would you feel about that artists then selling prints of it to the public at conventions or online?
Would you want the piece sent to you to have a special mark on it to state that it comes from the origin file, while the prints have a different mark?
(That way your piece would still be unique to anyone else's)

Of coarse I'd have to find a good printing place, which will be harder to do in my area.

Recently I had done a trial with 300 DPI resolution.
Two badges, which both came out quite nicely, and didn't take a ton more time than I had previously been drawing them at.
Because of this, I've decided to go ahead and up all of my commissions to 300 DPI. Turns out I kind of enjoy the non-pixel zooming. That enjoyment surpasses my fear of brush strokes being seen... Yes, I did have a fear of that for some reason or another. However, the larger sizes also enable me to really focus on putting forth good detail.

There is the added time, and effort of doing this though... And that is what I'm here to notify everyone about.
Because of the step up in resolution, and time taken, I've also had to up my prices to accommodate the work.
Some things have not gone up that much, while other things have increased a bit. Especially that of larger works like 7x9+.
Works that will take considerably longer to complete.

I hope they are still reasonable.

So in order to figure out the time and intensity of high resolution badges, and artwork, I'm going to need to do a trial test to see how much longer it's going to take me to finish them. If it takes longer at all.
To test this out, I'm opening for two, regular priced badge commissions. Depending upon the results of these, my prices may need to be adjusted to accommodate new time frames.
