Sorry for the late update but we have a place now. Still in the Vancouver Wa area. Didn't know if we would get it but they took to heart everything that happened. Now we are working on moving in and trying to get thing settled as we do. Still a lot of work to be done but it already feels more like home.

I have been working in Perler beads, and need $135 to get some of my stuff replaced since the house fire July 10th. ( Lost almost everything, including our home and 2 cats) I have not posted any melty bead art here but am looking to get some commissions. Even those few things you get to save are just things. so when your lucky enough to save a handful of things, and the one day of rain wipes out another chunk of them..... at this point, I am even wondering if it's worth taking the time to salvage stuff that is just going to get the middle finger from 2020. Or why even bother getting anything at all done when it's likely going to get ruined before we ever find a place to live.

It feels like it's been months since the fire wiped us out on the 10th.

Due to harshly high temps we had to hold off doing any cleanup last weekend... so this weekend we have a dumpster (30 yard box) coming. I still have troubles looking in what was our front window and seeing all the way back to the back bedroom. I still want to wake up and go home some days. I don't know how long it's gunna take to get over losing everything. We have others who have made it that are helping with support and labor. They have been wonderful and I feel beyond our deserving. But that aside, this is not an experience I would welcome again or wish on anyone else. One person almost fully restocked my Perler beads so I am plotting and mapping patterns for a few thank you projects.

If 2020 hasn't been cruel enough, My father in law passed away and some of his belongings where in the house when it fell so my wife lost even more of her dad, and some things of her mother. Our middle daughter (step) found out her grandmother on the other side is soon to pass from cancer. A friend of mine's wife found she has cancer and it's taking a turn for the worse. 2 school mates of mine have lost their parents this year ( out of a class of 132 ), and another friend of my wife's just had his Grampa pass. My mom had surgery on her leg because when she had the flesh eating bacteria about 5 or 6 years ago, they missed something and her artery got clogged to her leg making it lose circulation. I left my job the Wednesday after the fire because the workplace was making me come in and was then inhospitable, and when my boss came back from his vacation got slammed with accusations about why he didn't check in... even tho he was on vacation, and told them he was going to be out of cel range most of the time while camping.

So yeah. That has been it in the nutshell.

Is it better to just have a flat rate for multiple images?

So I have not done much art in a while, at least none that I have shared here... but I was contemplating doing a bit of a style change. to do the full renders it takes me a long LOOOOOOOONG time, but I see others posting flats and cel shading art multipal times a day.

So my question is, would anyone be interested if I tried cel shading? It would be a new thing for me... and something I am going to start off poorly I imagine.

Since my subscription to Maya ran out and I can't get Blender to work thanks to my AMD card, I'm stuck doing non 3D works for a bit.

I am not so great on turn arounds, but I have a sona that I am creating. Problem is I don't think I am doing it justice. I am looking for an artist who can do plus sized to slightly plump characters to flesh out what I have. two artists I have talked to are either not taking commissions, or have said they themselves are not so good with turn arounds.

I am looking for the line work only. I will do the coloring.

Any suggestions or offers?

Since no one reads these things of mine I feel safe posting this here.

Artists understand tbis but art is not a 5 minutes and sone thing. Its not like a piece of toast you can put down after one bite and come back to finish it later. Art, even quick sketch takes time and effort. It needs effort to get the motivation some times. When a spark hits you need to do it or lose it.

That said when somone says they want to draw, that does not mean they are open to conversations, open to chores or open to others needs. I wont speak for others but when I get into the drawing mode it becomes theropudic. I can FOCUS on the image before me and not so much on the other things that may have me bothered. You take that from me when its my only real out, and as well meaning as you can be, it becomes just the opposite.

So for the time being I am holding off from doing any art since that only adds to the stress I want to relieve through art.

I have been doing some Stickers for Ungur on Telegram, and I was considering opening up for commissions. If I did, Who would be interested?

At current they would be slow going... I do still work full time. I will be able to show off what I have done as soon as I am done with the others for Ungar.

I have been a marvel zombie for as long as I can remember, back into the 70s. I only stopped when I could not afford comics, and blew them a kiss of death when they changed all the super heros to females and screwed up the legacies. But even tho I don't like what it has become, I will always love the company that Stan built. II used to utter the phrase I saw in the back of the comics when he would answer fans letters "Make Mine Marvel".

So from another faceless fan, I wish your spirit rest and peace Stan. you will be missed more than I bet even you could have ever thought.

To help keep my 3D skills up I am wondering... If I started taking commissions for 3D sculpts, or 3D animation of a short bit, if anyone would be interested.

Let me know what you think. My biggest weakness is rigging characters... so while I can sculpt them and animate them once rigged, It would take a small miracle for me to rig them for animation.

Lets see..... Butterfly smelled something funny in the kitchen near the washer and dryer... so I went out side since that's also where the water heater is. have to access it outside ( did I mention we are still below freezing and have about a foot of snow and I have about a 3 foot ledge to stand on?) and first thig I see is some black charring. First words are "Oh shit"..... and I was right. Take off the access panel to the reset switch on the water heater and it's half melted. so no hot water again.

So we turn off the breaker and I start playing a game, knowing sponge baths are something to look fun to at 5:30 in the morning....

The breaker box is zapping. as I look in closer it's zapping between the breaker for the furnace and the hot water heater.

so that puts us back about where we were around a week ago. no hot water and no furnace..... luckily we should start getting above freezing temps, but a lot of rain over the next week......

I don't think my luck went off the road, I think it was demolished by a train.

Lets round out the whole damned day by saying that one of our outside faucet pipes shattered and we have water all over the place. after about 6 trips under the house in the cold, dark and snow, finaly SLOWED the water running out. 2016 is looking pretty f-ing good by comparison

So some of you know I have been in school at the Art Institute of Portland. Last night my journey was complete and I walked across the stage, flipped the tassel and left with a BFA in Media Arts.

It's been a weird road. ups and downs. but it's over and time to start trying to find a place to put those skills to use. I would like to thank those of you whom have taken an interest in my journey and followed me as I learned new things and changed my style It's been an experience for sure.

Thank you to everyone who entered a name for consideration. We had a number of entries for consideration, and our staff will be looking them over and making our choice which will be announced on December 1st.

Today is an exciting day! Two things going on!

First, it's the last day to give our mascot a name. The contest ends at midnight PST tonight. There are not a lot of entries, so chances are good for you! There is a prize for the person who suggested the winning name!

Myself and 2 other Art Institute Alumni worked on the art. While his game has a furry theme, you don't even need to know what a furry is to play. All you need to know is that you can dance the night away and never have to leave your seat!
