I've been trying to sort of start over. Hopefully it goes well. My artwork is still infrequent but it's more stable than the past few years. I'd like to return to the high contrast confident shading I used to do but I'd definitely like to pursue digital painting like the rest of the world.

Apologies for the inactivity + New Tablet + Updates
Posted 8 years agoHello everyone who's still here! I apologize for the lack of activity. I actually took a break from using many platforms so I could focus on my artwork (and my video games) to stay out of the social thing for a while. I know it's been about two months since I uploaded anything and I missed out on uploading my Magic Meat March work (which were bad anyway) but I'll see what happens. I will try to upload here some more.
Oh and it's Mermay meaning that one day I'll upload drawings of my mermen! I'm so sorry though because I won't do it everyday but I don't know about doing 31 drawings yet though...
Also, I got a new tablet. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 with S Pen for convenient digital drawing on the go. I've always wanted something like this. It's even better because once it gets hot, I can use this instead of my sketchbook as my sketchbook will be too difficult to draw in (any intermediate and higher traditional artist should know that the weather, environment, temperature, etc. can affect your surfaces, especially certain types of paper).
But yeah, thank you very much. I've also been trying to draw in my old value-oriented style so you'll probably be seeing more of that sometime.

NEW INTERNET + Updates
Posted 8 years agoHello, I sincerely apologize for the long absences. However this can gradually be fixed because I FINALLY have new internet. It's like 10x faster than the piece of crap we had before and it doesn't cut off at odd hours of the day for no reason. That means I'll be able to safely go online more often and perhaps become more active down the line.
Also thank all of you who are still active here. I'm sorry for my own inactivity but I certainly appreciate yours even if I may not know how else to show it. vuv
Oh and perhaps since I may know a bit more about how this place works, I may be back more often later on once I get used to this internet luxury and my style (again). I'd really like to draw my merfolk more often since I'm aware that people like them. That gives me a sliver of hope because I've been art blocked lately and I'm in serious need of some courage and motivation. I forgot to mention that I do at least 20min of sketches every day of poses from Quickposes.com. They're tiny but so far it's been 25hrs over about 34 days. I'm hoping that I can finally kick some SERIOUS ass this year. I just hate that I'm art blocked for now.
So yeah, thanks again for the support and everything. I always appreciate it!

Posted 9 years agoI will now be on a semi-hiatus until I can get my artwork together. All this stress and pressure and whatever has really taken a toll on me and it's not good on my health, especially for a new college graduate. I will still upload something if I have something good (as this place is so picky...) but I will just remain as inactive as before communication-wise.

I am not getting any of the same attention to my gallery and it gradually declined no matter the quality of quantity of each work.
Maybe I'll just have to draw more pictures of my adult shark guys then. I know I got some recognition for them here that one time.

Graduation Day/Summer Break
Posted 9 years agoYep so I FINALLY graduated from my university and with HONORS. I was labeled as Magna Cum Laude which is the second highest honors with a GPA of 3.7 so far... I mean, whatever I get after the grades get uploaded from this past semester ain't gonna increase my GPA enough by 0.1 so I can miraculously get Summa Cum Laude, the highest honors. So yeah, I really wouldn't worry about it. What's done is done.
And to top that off, it's also my summer break and my break from any and all institutional education. Of course cuz I ain't no dummy, I'll be spending my time wisely. I would like to finish my games, catch up on anime and manga, you know, the "fun stuff". Then of course I would like to finish my own artistic studies and finish studying my languages. For art, I'd like to study anatomy again, and perhaps I could try traditional streams where you watch me draw in pencil instead of my boring digital drawings. As far as languages go, I would like to finish Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, and Arabic. I have a great interest in Asian languages, yes.
So yeah, that means more time to do a lot of stuff that I couldn't do the past 5 years that it took me to complete my undergraduate degree. Perhaps as a graduation gift for me, I'll just probably draw myself a picture of one of my characters or something.

How did this Shark Guy become "popular"?

This is the shark guy character I made way back in 2008. I drew him only a few times over the years because I didn't really understand how mermaids/mermen worked anatomically so that was a motivation killer right there.
But when I uploaded this: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17880752/ Just a few weeks ago, I didn't expect it to garner this much attention when normally, I barely get a comment or a fave and views are hard to come by like this because I am obviously unpopular here.
I did have another shark guy piece but it was a 100% digital painting: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9276801/
I think it's THE most popular thing in my gallery.
So, is this motivation? Do you guys want me to draw more of this shark guy> I mean, I will because he's MY character and I have no qualms with drawing MY characters.
Oh, but who am I to expect a proper conversation about my OCs, especially because I know for a fact that I will never become popular here (unless it's true that my shark guy is in high demand). >u>

There were tech difficulties during the stream
Posted 10 years agoYeah, that internet connection cutting off on my like that REALLY fucked things over for me, my reputation and everything I could think of for that moment. Luckily I was able to fix the problem. It wasn't even an hour into the stream before the shit got cut off.

Like I said, it's fine now. But it's too late for a goddamn stream since it took so long to correct the problem. I ain't gonna do late night streams if ain't nobody comin' to 'em. It puts too much stress on my computer. I don't like listening to the fan speed up like that, plus, I gotta switch to Windows 7 Basic. It's an inconvenience for all of us I guess then, huh? :P

How do you make journals importnant in messages?
Posted 10 years agoYes, I am asking this question. I have seen people upload journals and then I noticed that they had a glow to them in my message box like they are urgent. What is that and what does that mean? Does that happen when you update a journal and then it gets highlighted to "notify watchers" or something? I'm confused. I think I really need that type of function like you wouldn't even know. Remember? It's like I don't exist and I don't have enough new artwork to upload everyday according to the apparent standards of the website.

Posted 10 years agoThe last 60 uploads go into last year around May 2014. That shows how much I don't get to upload that often. I know how fickle this place is though but at the same time, quality is obviously not important here. It is frequency. I should spam more often so I can guarantee the reciprocity of activity.

But hey, I know for a fact that most of you forgot about me which is why even if I did reply, it would mean nothing or actually, it would be like "oh, do I know you?". Yeah, sad truth. X3 I've just been too busy for this place and this interface is archaic. This further proves my point that if you haven't already made it, you never will, especially on places like these where it's almost impossible to get your stuff out there in case someone missed your uploads or something, you know?

Some I will and some I won't depending on the difficulty and how much I had to draw the particular character in mind before I found an image I liked. :)

This place it still quite difficult to use to update different things since I've been so spoiled with more freedom on different websites. I'll try to see if I can comment more on the works from people I follow and so on. I am still pretty much a nobody here compared to everyone else as long as I've been here. It may be a while though because I am not used to having no work to complete for class yet. I'm in an empty trance right now since I've pretty much blocked out all my interests just to focus on classwork.

I had this routine where I would start something at night, begin shading/coloring in the morning and then upload in the morning not too long after. I chose two answers because only on a GOOD day will I EVER get more than ZERO. I try to update ALL day. I repeat the message many times and on more than one website. You all must think that it works for me and everything when it doesn’t. I don’t understand why people are all on the same page like this.
