Happy Birthday?
Posted 15 years agoSo that time of year comes around again, the biological calender completes another round. Tomarrow is my birthday. I thought the general consensus was birthdays were happy days, chalk up onther year of life lived and all that. Somehow its never been quite like that for me. Not that I have a fear of getting old mind you. Perhaps its all the things I know I didn't accomplish in the past year and wish I had. Ah well, *raises glass* here's to another birthday, I guess.
Question for the digital artists....
Posted 15 years agoI've found myself quite curious about digital drawing tablets and what brand/model you guys use. I have Inkscape and Gimp on my pc but never played with them much since I only have a mouse. Looks like there is a wide price range on these things and probably ease of use and quality as well. Hence my quest for some real user info and opinions. What do you use? Price? etc.
Asking help for a friend.....
Posted 15 years agoA fellow friend of mine here on FA is in need of some help. She has been very sick off and on for quite some time now and her local doctors can not find what is wrong so she wants to go to a mayo clinic and have them check it out. However due to her health problems is not doing well money wise and need to raise some funds for the trip. All the details are avalible here http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1300357/
Any help at all is greatly appreciated.

Shower meme
Posted 15 years agoI was bored so......
1 - Do you shower in the morning or evening? Generally the evening but sometimes both
2 - Do you use liquid or bar soap? Body wash
3 - Do you use shampoo and conditioner or just shampoo?
Both, my hair is very picky and would be an absolute mess without conditioner.
4 - Do you brush your teeth in the shower? Nope.
5 - Do you shave in the shower? Always
6 - Do you sing in the shower? hehe, when theres nobody home maybe.
7 - Do you use a washcloth? Scrubbie
8 - Do you have a door or a curtain on your shower? Door.
9 - Have you ever taken a call in the shower? Um, no. I don't like paying for a new phone.
10 - Have you ever showered in your swimsuit? Only in a locker room after swiming.
11 - Have you ever showered with a member of the same sex? Once a long time ago.
12 - Have you ever showered with a member of the opposite sex? No, but I wouldn't turn down an offer. *looks around for offers*
13 - Do you share a bathroom with someone? Nope
14 - Do you listen to the radio in the shower? No but I play music on my pc which is in the next room.
15 - Do you wear a shower cap? Sorta defeats the purpose of a shower don't it?
16 - Do you wash behind your ears? Sure.
17 - Describe your shower in three words. Hot, wet, enjoyable... Hey don't look at me like that! Get your mind out of the gutter!
18 - What one thing would you change about your shower? Unlimited hot water would sure be nice sometimes.
19 - What would make your shower time better for you? Being spoiled and having one of those shower stalls with a place to sit down.
20 - What celebrity would you like to shower with? Never really thought about it.
21 - What celebrity would you NOT like to shower with? After thinking about the last question I think I'd rather stay out of the supermarket tabloids so all of them.
22 - What is the one thing you can't do without in your shower? Hot water, no cold showers for me.
23 - What is the oddest thing that has happened to you in the shower? Fell asleep once, woke up fast when the hot water ran out though.
24 - What is the best thing that has happened to you in the shower? I got clean.
25 - When was the last time you showered? This morning.
26 - When are you going to take a shower next? In the morning probably.

Updates and free art alert
Posted 15 years agoWell its been quite some time since I posted to my journal here, I doubt that anyone keeps that close of tabs on me but anyway.... I managed to get a full time spot where I was working over the holidays as a delivery driver so having a job is good. The bad side is that I end up working an average of 10hrs a day and I'm too tired to do much when I get home. This puts a real damper on what little drawing and doodling I do so no real progress there. Aside from all that theres not much worth making note of personally.
Now about the free art. A friend of mine here on FA is approaching her 100th watcher and 2000th page view and will be doing a free art piece for each person. If thats not enough incentive to check her out she has some mighty fine artwork posted including 1 (and soon to be another) of yours truely.

BloodHuskieWent and watched Avatar for the second time last night...
Posted 16 years agoIs it wrong to wish it was real? I've always thought that us humans as a whole are pretty barbaric and I know that most of us are not nearly as smart as we would like to think we are. Hence the main reason why I connect with animals more than humans. Ah well, the mind droppings aside, its an awesome movie I doubt that there will be another movie released this year that will even come close. I think I may have to go and watch it for a third time, just gets better everytime. If by some chance you haven't seen it yet by all mean do!
Christmas greetings from Apollo
Posted 16 years agoHere's my christmas greetings to everyone though I'm rather late. Hope christmas with you and yours was a good one. All is going well here with the exception of a bit of indigestion (ate entirely too much!) Got another drawing book as a gift today and I actually have 4 days off of work so maybe I'll have some time to work on it. Hope you all got what you wanted for christmas. Now I think I'm going to go sleep off this full belly. Take care everyone.
Drawing animals/furry starting out?
Posted 16 years ago *A newbie artists call for help/suggestions*
Well as I have posted in my info I am not much of an artist. I have a very large appreciation for art, particularly drawings just not the ability to take the ideas in my head and put draw them out on paper. I have done a little of the basic stuff, played with some textures and shading (charcoal and graphite) but not actually drawing anything yet. At the suggestion of a few people I looked in to books on the subject and scoured the local library and didn't find much. Checked out Barnes & Nobles and could have spent $100's on the books they had. That place is my version of a grown-ups candy store! I settled on Walter Fosters "The Art of Drawing Animals" because of the detail and variety of animals it covered. I sorta figured on starting with the real animals first to get the anatomy down before moving to anthro animals. Not sure if that is a good idea or if it doesn't matter. I was just sitting here thinking about how to go about this and had a revelation. (well as close as you get when you are me anyway) I'm on a website full of artists, why not ask around? So please, if you would be so kind and gracious as to allow me a few minutes of your time in the form of your own personal suggestions and or experiances with this. Any books that you found particularly helpful? Practice techniques? Etc. Thanks everyone, hopefully I can pay you back with some worthy art one day.
