Y’ello, it’s Doe.

It’s been some time since I’ve posted here lol. So liiiiike, to make a long story short; things have gone to shit, but they’ve been getting better.

I’ve been thinking of uploading more music here but I would have to learn how to mix for mp3s, seeing how they usually compress the shit out of your track, like it’s not noticeable to some but when you’ve been working with audio for the past 7-ish years you can’t not notice it, or not, maybe i’m just talking out my ass lmao.

As for art, i’ve been doing a lot more sketching and shit for the past year and i do want to share some works i’ve drawn, granted they are kinda wonky but that’s how it is when you only have one layer to work with _(:3 」∠)_

Oh! Speaking of art, I’ve been working on a personal project of mine, i’ve been doing mostly concept sketches and doodles and what-not. Let me tell you, it’s gonna blow your socks off when it’s filly realized and released!! But first i gotta learn how to create sprites…and animate…..and…..programming…..not to mention i have to like….compose for it, unless i get some ppl to make a track or 2 for it, that’d be kewl :3

Well anyways, I’m gonna dip for now, I’ll keep y’all updated whenever I can.

So when I was in middle school, I really liked foxes; so much so I wanted to tf into one lol. I would watch fox videos almost all the time, SaveAFox was one of my favorite channels. Seeing how those foxes run around and just, go about their business made me want to see one in person sooooooo badly.

Come last year, I was walking around on the campus late one night and I see a baby (or adult?) fox run on by. It happened so fast that I didn't have time to take a pic. I thought I would never see something like that again.

Come earlier this year, I was walking home late one night and I decide to treat myself to a snack (despite not wanting to spend any money). I get the snack, start heading home and as I was walking, I get the ""bright"" to go down a different route. Granted it was a bit long, but I wanted to bask in the winter sunset as much as I could. So I walk, nothing too interesting happens until...I SPOT A FOX!! From what I remember it had dark orange fur and it was just...standing there. I wanted to take a pic but it was too dark out to get any decent shots, so I just stared at the fox. I took in the moment, watching it stand there, and then it dipped not too long after. I couldn't believe what I saw, I had nothing but the memory to remember it by, and I thought I would never experience something like that again.

Come a few days later I was heading back to the campus and I spot ANOTHER FOX, IN BROAD DAYLIGHT!! LIKE, IT WAS JUST CROSSING THE ROAD LIKE IT OWNED THE PLACE!! Again I didn't get a photo so I still have that memory to remember it by.

Crazy to think I've even had those few run-ins at all, maybe I'll have some more in the future, but idk if that will ever happen. Foxes are very hard to come by so seeing one must be a miracle. If I do have some more run-ins tho, I will keep y'all updated and maybe update this journal. Until then, I have yet to spot another fox.

Right, so I'm going to start using this journal section as a blog of sorts, and I figured what better way to start this off than to write abt the very reason I came here: Soundcloud!

So I've been using soundcloud ever since I was like 13 and let me tell you the site has barely changed in the 9-ish years I've used it. I remember I would keep getting notfis saying some "label" liked/reposted my track only to find out they were some bot account that promised "free followers" if you sign up for their scam or something. I always block and report those type of accounts but they never dissapeared, hell I think I've seen the same "label" go through multiple name changes, I think one of them was "ramen records" iirc.

And you know what's funny, Soundcloud (or at least the twitter account) made a post saying "me when a human likes my track" with that one dolphin pic (the one that usually has "i just wanna be [art of your symphony" playing) and let me tell you that was very ballsy of them to do so, like fix your goddamn bot problem ffs.

And another thing, I remember a couple years ago they said they were going to change the upload limit for users with the basic plan (such as myself) and I was pretty pissed off, though I think they rolled back on that decision, idrk tho.

And now for a more recent anecdote, AI. So a couple days ago, I saw a tweet showing Soundcloud's TOS stating they will use any and all audio used for training for their AI and said TOS was rolled out a year ago without anybody knowing. Now I, a longtime SC user, was scared shitless for lack of better words and was looking for another site fast.

I first tried PiaPro JP, but their TOS didn't line up with what I wanted to upload. Next was Newgrounds, which looked ok on paper but after finding out about the limit for uploading any audio (10 mb btw), I dipped and deleted my account. Afterwards I tried this site and I sort of ran into the same wall as NG and dipped. Lastly I arrived to Audiomack. I used it before and I had no issue with it; I even uploaded a track or two there. It was then decided that I reupload my tracks there from that point on.

Come a few days ago, Soundcloud puts out a statement on twitter saying their "AI" was actually "predictive-AI" (such as algorithms), not generative. I breathed a sigh a relief but jesus christ i had like 12 mini heart-attacks during that time.

So what will I do now? Well, I'll just go back to uploading on SC like nothing happened, maybe I'll reupload some of my covers/originals to my Youtube channel (though they might be remastered/reworked versions), but only time will tell haha.

hey, so after some digging i found a site called audiomack that can host my songs/covers. i would upload my stuff here but the max size for audio is like 10 megabytes and my audio goes into the 30s in terms of size.

so uhhhhhhhhhhhhh, maybe i'll upload some actual art here if i feel like it lol.

but until that time comes, i will see you then.
