London furmeet report!
Posted 13 years agoI know I go to a lot of these (havnt missed one since I started going mid this year) but I thought it'd be nice to do a mini-report.
Lessons learnt - Pay attention when someone tells you the drink they gave you is pure rum. Cheers for the drink Baekho! I definitely owe you some drinks for that one. On the other hand, you bastard! I havnt been sick from drinking in like 2 years! I feel sorry for whiskers porch!
I hope I wasnt too much of a tool - having a look at the post-meet photos, there is scant chance of that! Drunky Dash is affectionate dash and I may have kissed a few furs I shouldnt of - sorry! (Not you Danaka, we can make out anytime).
Aside from all the debauchery, meet was awesome fun as usual - love all the great freinds I have there now. This meet probably marks the first one where I dont feel like I met anyone new, which is a good sign actually, cause I know most people there! Ani and Baekho you guys rock! We need to chill sometime.
The usual post meet gathering at mikes was cut short sadly - I have no idea why as I was passed out in bed - something about Baekho though I'm sure ;)
Hope everyone else had fun ^.^ good to see Ayame again, who'd missed a few meets. great catching up with some CF people.
<3 you all
Totally broke now, so you won't see me about much until August (I'll try somehow to get to the Summer party at least) and then I'm off to the states for a week or so (Update: not till september! *cry*).
Keep calm and stay furry.

Confuzzled, great for some, @#!&ing amazing for others!
Posted 13 years agoSo super sad right now. Having to say goodbye to some really great people after some of the best days of my life at Confuzzled, that I probably won't see again for another year, if at all.
It was my first Con and as such meant quite a bit to me. It meant coming full circle - finding a place for myself and realising once and for all, yes, I'm furry. I'm so mad at myself for leaving the fandom prematurely all those years ago, how much I've missed.
So much of this new inspiration comes from the volunteers and con organisers. Nobody got paid to put together what they did and yet they gave so much, were so professional and spared no detail. Walking into the Rotunda and seeing the banners there, made just for CF, really hit me somehow.
And then there were the performers. I know I'm a bit of a fanboi, it comes with being new - you see these people only on videos, you hear about them only from freinds who have themselves only heard of them, they inspire us as to what can be achieved in the fandom - and then all of a sudden you are faced with the real thing. They are just people after all, dedicated and talented people - but more importantly, nice people. A trait our furry celebrites don't seem to share with the hollywood ones (Cameron Diaz is a bitch!).
I think a lot of judging was going on at CF - there were quite a few furs being judgemental of the guests of honor arriving by helicopter and getting star treatment - some of those doing the judging, ironically, had even gone through the experience themselves. Then we all got to know them, the kind of people they actually were, and realised they are just like us, just more willing to put themselves up and out for us to enjoy. After Kiyo's dance competition and Mangusu's reaction - it seemed things were just able to be relaxed and enjoyed. I know I learnt something from watching the whole thing play out - i hope others did too.
That said, I still hunted down and got photos with all my favourites :D After going to five London fur meets I finally get a photo with Kiyo!! (at CF no less). Also Ari - god I love Ari, so cute and a great performer. Hanging out and helping Mangusu with his set meant I got a closeup view of Monsteroo, a huge highlight for me - and thanks to Tzup, I got to meet Buddy! Wierdly though, I got super shy and ran off!! Props to Buddy for trying to call me back to talk - that was nice, it would of been easier to just let me go.
I won't talk about the food or the hotel, as we all know they were great - so i guess that really just leaves the people. All the furs I talked to there were amazing - I learnt some names, made some good freinds, made some GREAT freinds - and well :p
Those who aren't Londonfurs - I'm missing you already - please track me down on facebook. Those who are, I'll see you in two weeks at LFM with some great stories!!!

The Popufur Experiment
Posted 13 years agoOh wow, what happened there!
Ok so something to explain about THE Dash Tiger if you have come looking for him here.
About 5 weeks ago - being the over-exuberant overwhelmed with furriness newblood that I was, I made the very stupid mistake of going all fanboi over a couple of furs who had really inspired me, instead of you know, just treating them like normal people. It's really stupid too, because they are normal people. I know that, you know that - but it's so easy to get caught up in these things!
Being the open and honest fur that I am, I told my freinds about it, and being the umerciful sods that they are (Love you guys), they all decided to take the piss out in a big way.
It started with about five of them posting on my FA like fanboi's "oh my god, its dash tiger I love you" etc. then moved to facebook. At this point it was just our little group, and I let it go on because well, it was funny and I deserved it.
Then it hit the meets, and the UKfur forums...
Then people we didn't even know started doing it, and thats when it got weird! Some people had obviously cottoned on, or been let in on the joke - suddenly memes of me/dash tiger are appearing, and everywhere you look "Omg, best meet ever, I met dash tiger!". That was funny, because of how it took on a life of its own.
But then it got wierd, as two really awkward things started happening. The first, I started getting messages from people who obviously hadnt got the joke, wanting to be my freind and A much bigger number of people started following my posts. The second wierd thing - some people started mouthing off about me, having never even met me!
That really got to me because the whole thing was fake. These furs didn't know a single thing about me other then that other people were excited to have met me. So I guess it really is true, some people just hate things because other people like them.
This is where I pulled the plug. I didn't want people to feel tricked by it and the joke had gone on long enough. Just want to say that none of this was planned, it was supposed to be just my freinds taking the piss and none of us expected it to take on a life of its own.
However - given the wierd sort of success this had - it begs the question - Can u be artificially made a popufur for doing nothing talented at all?

New to FA!
Posted 13 years agoOk - so finally decided to get an FA, as I now have stuff to post!
Been in the fandom since, oh 2002? But only really recently joined the community and am finding it all really great! Been to four london fur meets now, and made some fast but very great freinds. *tip hat* to Whiskers and Sparx!
Will try post here often, but getting overwhelmed with the huge amount of social media thats "required" for being a furry...especially when you need two sets of everything!!! (Can't drop real life just yet!)
I'm not an artist sadly, would love to be able to draw, but my attempts have been sad. I do make (or have made one!) fursuits but, so will put photos up here. My first one I'm pretty happy with...it's not great, but as a first suit actually I think its pretty good. Number two will be even better...plan to start it in september!
