Further Confusion 2015 Meme
Posted 10 years agoWas a bit of a last minute decsision, but I'll be attending Further Confusion!
This marks a couple milestones. I haven't been to FC since 2007, and will be one of the first cons I'm not dealing an artist table! I'm looking forward to some more relaxing times this con and actually getting time to catch up with everyone and *gasp* sleeping in!
No seriously, sleep is a huge issue for me when dealing, so not having to drag my ass out of bed at oh-god-help o' clock is gonna feel so nice ;__;
There's a lot of people I plan on seeing. Some for the first time, others after a good year or two. It'll be interesting.
Hotel
Hilton Beer Fridge
Arrival/Departure
Flying down and arriving later Thursday night, leaving Monday afternoon
Means of transportation
Airplane (Leslie Nielson optional)
Sharing a room with
sampsonwoof
dracosyndrome
hornetv2
Who do you hang out with?
The list is too long to put on here. Safe to say I'll be running around trying to get in as much time with ppl as I can.
Gender
Cactus
Preference
Prickly Pear
Relationship Status
Stuck with a shiba inu!
How old are you?
28
How tall are you?
Tall >__>
Are you an Artist?
Indeed I am!
Do you have an artist table?
Nope! First year not having one. It's gonna be interesting.
What will you be offering at your table?
Nothing. But I'll have my art supplies with me, so expect random beer doodles for you.
Do you take commissions?
I do! But I don't have a table this year. If you run into me at a room party or event you're welcome to talk details and swap contact for when I'm back home in Canada though :)
Do you do trades?
I'd probably be up for a few, if not at the con then back at home. If you get me beer though I'll be nice and happy and trade off with friends.
Are you a Fursuiter?
I have a lot of body hair. Does that count?
What's your fursuit?
Beard.
Attending parties?
Yes, oh yes, so so manyyy
Do you drink?
I love me my beer yes :D
Can I buy you a drink?
Yes. You will be my new best friend and probably get art out of it.
Do you smoke?
The occassional cigar here and there
Are you attending any panels?
More likely not, unless something gets my attention
Stage or public performance?
bwuh?
How do I identify my self to you?
Show me your badge or tell me your furname, tho chances are I'll already know who you are haha :P
Rules of engagement (physical contact)?
Hugs are fine if I know you. If you're not sure just ask or give me beer.
How can I find you?
Hard to say! I'm kinda playing some of this con by ear and see what everyone's up to, so I'll be fluttering around different parties, art events, game nights, etc
Can I talk to you?
Of course! I love to talk ^^
Can I give you lots of money?
Sure... I guess? Beer's better though.
Can I give you stuff?
Depends what it is!
Can I come to dinner with you?
Ask if you're not sure and not invited. I tend to splurge while at cons cuz I love fooooood
Can I hang out with you?
For sure! I'm using this con to socialise more than the cons I deal with :)
Can I take your picture?
Depends on the situation :P
How do I know if you're not looking to socialize (angry, busy or upset)?
I'll be blunt and tell you! Otherwise I'll be in my room recuperating and not in such a situation.
Personality Type?
ENFJ
What's your goal for the con this year?
Prioritise socializing w/o art deadlines!

Vancoufur 2014 Recap & Community Spotlight Shenanigans
Posted 11 years agoBeing the Community Spotlight this year made for some interesting changes to my regular con schedule, the people I met/spoke to, and feelings towards it. I found myself attending more panels than ever before, despite commissions and dealers table chaos. More people I didn’t know, or didn’t normally talk to, approached me, sparking some fun stories and much-needed catch-up time. Even if the con was a month long I still wouldn’t have found the time to chat with everyone I needed to. It was very much a ‘social con’.
I don’t even know where to begin describing how amazing this con was this year. So I’m shaking things up this year with posting HIGHLIGHTS!
VF 2014 Highlights in no particular order
- Bawling my eyes out at the opening ceremonies when my name and quip about me was mentioned
- Arriving in the Dealer’s Den Friday morning to see every table sporting a cactus. Thank you WhiteFoot for adding this lovely touch
- Dancing for 4 hours straight Sat and Sun night with the gang
- Teaching Nirokia’s kid to dance early Sunday night and preventing future teenage awkwardness
- Sitting with the gang at the Guest of Honor Dinner sipping back sangrias and beers as the cake arrived… sporting all 6 GOH characters on top. Thank you Temrin, Temrin’s Mom, and Soulscape for the surprise!
- Werewolf card game in Elias’ room with Bundt, Tyins, Greyson, Drekian, Ph8L, RedDye, Daiten, Rollie, Wallen, Nath, and others
- Going through all my homemade port wine with Darkanine, Kadar, Nirokia, Dorn, and Reweth
- Chilling in the ‘snuggle party’ room with Lummox and Asynyra, flopped on fuzzy pillows and listening to some… interesting music
- (inside joke) Having sex with Jack from Jack In the Box
- Stinking up the hotel room with Sixel’s laminating machine as we rushed them out before dinner
- Attending FoxAmoore's panel and hear him play the piano. It was my first time hearing his work and I was blown away
- Rushing out for a few hours to help Haemish move during Dealer’s Den hours, then battle sore arm muscles all of Saturday. Totally worth it!
- Getting one of my first commissions at a con (I’m stubborn) from the wonderful Seylyn. I’ll post the badge a bit later
- Amazing pixel art from OrigamiDude, who did a great job at capturing the gang’s individual expressions!
- More art from the lovely Nirokia. I can’t stop looking at the huge ears and wicked background
- Sixel’s giant badge, which will forever stand out from the others. It’s beer and biking. My favorite things. I will probably make a shirt out of this later
- Catching up with Omi and meeting her guy Lucas. Much nerd knowledge was exchanged
- Getting to see the VF T-shirt in person for the first time. Every detail was captured. Every. Damn. Line. Oh god.
- Finally getting to put a face to Nbowa after more than 10 years of watching one another float around online
- My entire pup group swarming my dealer’s table once they arrived at the con
- Fatigue causing mischief at my table with bits of scrap paper, googly eyes on my cactus and other pictures, etc
- Seeing the faces of those who picked up their pre-badge commissions – BakuTatsu, Milo Braun, Vino/Darkanine, Sixel, and Daitenshi
- And, of course, having the wonderful Bundt along for the ride all days, despite him having 2 midterms over the weekend <3
In Conclusion
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all those who made this one of my favorite conventions ever. It was an honor to be your Community Spotlight. The amount of love, and general vibe left a very happy coyote in its wake. This past year I have been met with an incredible amount of support from you all. Whether it be struggling for donations for the Cancer Ride, pitching in for my new bike once the old one broke, lifting me up during my ruts… you were there.
I will continue to support the local community throughout the next year be it artwork, general support, or guidance.
A note to take-home commissions
I have all your contact information with me and should be starting up this week. I usually spend the first week after a con recovering and taking a small break, but expect to hear back from me soon with any updates or address confirmations before shipping out :)

Rainfurrest 2013! Dealers Den and Details
Posted 12 years ago============RAINFURREST 2013!============
It's that time of year again!
Yes, I'll be working my Dealer's Table again this year at Table #49 (https://www.rainfurrest.org/2013/dealers.php) if you'd like to pay a visit or commission me. I don't have as many original paintings this year, but have plenty of prints and, of course, watercolor badges!
Things you can get at my table this year
-Watercolor badges - $20
example: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9287852/
- I'm quick at putting these out, so expect to receive this during the time at the con! First come, first serve, otherwise chances increase of me having to take them home to finish. Generally you're okay the first couple days of the con.
-Sketches - Varies - usually around $10-$30
I don't do as many of these, but if you've got a good idea I can't resist, you may get lucky!
-Take-homes
I pride myself in usually managing to finish every commission at the con itself, save for maybe one or two. But I'm considering doing larger watercolor pictures, more akin to this: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11105553/ They'll take a bit longer so they'll be take-homes from the start. If you're curious, stop by my table and ask about prices so we can work something out :)
Other shenanigans
I'm arriving quite early this year on Wednesday morning, so it'll be nice to enjoy going around Seattle on food and microbrew trips. Weather permitting, I may rent a bike downtown and pedal around most the way.
All other nights are up for grabs. Once Dealer's Den closes for the day I'll be making a dash for food and beer, so if anyone wants to do dinner lemme know and I'll see what's happening. Parties and dancing are a must, and I'll be bringing some of my homemade beer and port wine this time :D

PLEASE NOTE I won't be responding to phone calls or text messages since it costs me huge (Canadian Yote here), so the best way to reach me is Twitter, so please reach me at https://twitter.com/Davecko

Wednesday morning- Sunday evening
Staying at:
Holiday Inn
How are you traveling?
Driving down with
haemish and her friend
Who are you rooming with?
burgerwerewolf
dracosyndrome
thestripedone
Where will you be? How best to find me?
I'll be at my Dealer's Table all day, so stop by there if you want to reach me or commission me. If I'm not around or it's in the evening, Twitter is best to reach me Davecko
Who will you be with?
I'm pretty social, so I'll be flitting around different room parties in the evening and dancing till quite late. If you wanna hang with me outside of the Dealer's Den, lemme know there or Tweet me to chill :)
Which suit(s) will you be bringing?
Tuxedo. Aw yiss.
Do you do free art?
Generally no. There's a handful of people I'll be doing free art who put in enormous support for my Cancer Ride earlier this year, but otherwise you'll have to bribe me with beer and booze :D
What is your gender?
Beard
How old are you?
Twenty-Sevennnn
How tall are you?
6'1", sometimes macro
Can I talk to you?
Of course! I'm always up for a chat outside of the Dealer's Den. If you want to cheat and become my new best friend, talk about beer, bicycling, camping, or video games.
When I'm in the Den however, don't feel bad if I'm swamped with customers and trying to get some art drawing time in. It happens sometimes, so do come by once it dies down :)
Can I hug and/or snuggle you?
If I know you well enough yes, and be prepared to be crushed by my energy arms.
Are you nice?
I try to be most the time. If I look grumpy I'm probably just busy with art, or daydreaming.
Are you cliquey?
Don't think so. If you're nice and genuine it transcends groups :)
If I see you, how should I get your attention?
Dave or Cactus!
Are you fursuiting?
Depends. Sometimes I'm known to wear others suits and go dancing or do yote trickery.
Can I ask ya to dance with me during the dances?
Oh yes please! I love dancing and really love having dance partners!
Can I buy you drinks?
Can I call you "New Best Friend"? ;)
Do you attend parties?
Yep, I love to party!
Can I take your picture?
Situational, but don't see why not.
What's your goal(s) for the con this year?
To have fun and let loose. It's been a rough past month and I really need this trip. I've been a grumpy bitch lately. Really looking forward to seeing some friends I only see once a year, and some new ones :)
============
PLEASE NOTE I won't be responding to phone calls or text messages since it costs me huge (Canadian Yote here), so the best way to reach me is Twitter, so please reach me at https://twitter.com/Davecko

3DS Friend Codes
Posted 12 years agoWhat better reason for a journal update than to share and swap friend codes?
I've been digging through Fire Emblem Awakening and Animal Crossing New Leaf lately, so if anyone wants to harass me in my village or get weird Swapnotes, it's 5343-8058-7158

Rooming with:
bundtcake and
dorn
What day are you getting there?
Thursday Feb 28th! Will be having dinner and catching up with people and getting my table prepped early.
What day are you leaving?
Either Sunday night or sometime on Monday - will see who's around still and what events are happening
Who will you be with?
bundtcake
sampsonwoof
haemish for the most part, and fun party times with Jacq, Dorn, and many many others :)
Con plans?
I'll be running my dealers table for a good portion of the day on Friday through Sunday (Table #16) then running off to the nearest place with beer to celebrate and unwind. Most likely will have a couple room parties of drinks and art (cuz they go well together...)
Do you do free art?
Not usually, though if the circumstances are right and you particularly humour me, you might get lucky. I also accept drinks!
Do you fursuit?
Sometimes. I don't have my own, but I'll sometimes borrow one from a friend or two.
Do you dance?
Every night anytime after dealer's den closes and I tend to stay late. If you see me on the dance floor come say hi and dance with me! I like having dancing buddies!
Do you party?
I am the party. I'm convinced that I'm no longer human, or animal for that matter, but a vodka-beer hybrid. Or Party Wolf. Your gut waves please me so.
Do you shower regularly?
Wut.. this wasn't in last year's questions. What the hell. Yes, everyday, sometimes two.
How old are you?
Recently turned 27!
What is your gender?
Male. Definitely of the masculine variety.
Orientation?
I'm too gay to function!
Single or taken?
Taken by the lovely
bundtcake. He'll probably be around my table with his ultra cute badge :O
Are you nice?
I like to think I am! Why don't you come by and check for yourself? ;)
Can I take pictures of you?
Sure, but you need to play the Poke-Flute and throw apples at me though. Make sure I'm centered correctly or Professor Oak will give you a world of pain.
Can I talk to you?
Definitely! But keep in mind if I'm at my dealers table, I might be swamped with commissions, or tired, or a bit of both. If I seem out of it or ignoring you don't take offense. I probably haven't had my coffee yet! Outside of dealers den hours certainly!
Can I hang out with you?
Definitely! There are lots of fun parties and dances happening and you should join :O I really love video games, biking, beer/wine, and science-y things. So feel free to hit me up.
Can I hug you?
Depends how well I know you. Don't feel bad if I say 'no' though. It's probably because I'm tall and might crush you with my energy arms.
Can I snuggle with you?
bundtcake might have a thing or two to say about that... but if he's feeling evil and says 'yes' I'll be quite helpless.
Can I hit on you?
Be my guest, but I'll probably make it super awkward on purpose cuz it's funny.
How can I find you?

===BC Ride to Conquer Cancer===
On an important side note, I'd like to mention that I'm participating in the BC Ride to Conquer Cancer this year in June. I'll be biking about 200miles from Vancouver to Seattle to raise money for children's cancer. Between now and end of May I'll need to raise $2,500 to attend the ride.
ALL of the money I'll be making at VancouFur will be going towards this. However, if you wish to spread the word, or even put in a donation for yourself, you can do it via Paypal or direct on this site:
http://conquercancer.ca/goto/DavidLynch
Again, please help spread the word as much as you can. A couple close people have died to cancer this past year and least I can do is put the donations where it counts.

VancouFur 2013 - Dealers Table - BC Cancer Ride
Posted 12 years ago===Updates and VancouFur Dealers Table===
Things have been going excellent on this end! Been keeping busy with artwork, biking, and travel for the most part. It's hard to find a day that's not rainy as hell to get on the bike, so I've been cooped up playing with my new 3DS and losing myself in Pokemon Black 2.
Anyone else going to VancouFur in a couple weeks? (http://vancoufur.ca/) I'll be running a Dealers Table again this year! Come check me out at table #16 (http://vancoufur.ca/dealers.php).
I'll be selling an assorted collection of prints, as well as framed watercolor & acrylic originals. As usual, I'll be doing conbadges for $20/ea - Indian ink and watercolors, which will come with lanyard and plastic sleeves. I almost always finish these during the con itself, so you're guaranteed to walk away with one over the weekend :)

Contest: End of the World - WINNER ANNOUNCED!
Posted 12 years agoIn our last episode:
The Majora's Mask countdown has finished! We're all still here and alive, so I suppose someone was able to turn back the hands of time at the last second!
But who is this unknown hero? At first, it was hearsay - just another Christmas superstition. Two weeks later though and some of us, including me, aren't too sure.
It appears this unnamed hero is HERE! Let's give it up for him for winning the contest!
As promised, I'll be drawing him a free picture as thanks for checking in to my webcomic site at http://www.plaidcoyote.com
For the rest of you, thanks so much for contributing!

Contest: End of the World - Free picture - Closes tonight!
Posted 12 years agoOne more night left!!
Continuing the trend of Majora's Mask, I'll be doing up a contest which closes the next several hours.
========
WHAT'S HAPPENING?!
The moon is looming overhead, ready to land at 3:11am Pacific Standard Time and doom us all! Millions will perish, but there can be only one lucky person to turn back the hands of time.
WHAT SHOULD I DO?!
Play the Song of Time of course, and return to Dawn of the First Day!
No really... what should I do??
We don't realllly live in Termina or Hyrule or run around slashing stuff at things (if you do, keep that to yourself and in the bedroom!), so we will go for the next thing:
1) Visit Plaid Coyote at http://www.plaidcoyote.com/2012/12/.....the-final-day/ This will let you view the real-time counter until doomsday.
2) Try to take a screenshot AS CLOSE AS YOU CAN from when the countdown ends! (bonus points if you actually listen/play the song of time while doing so)
3) Link/email/twitter me the screenshot and what time you took it at.
What happens after?
I'll carefully review all the screenshots and submissions, and pick whoever had the closest time. If there is a tie, I will honor whoever sent it to me first.
I understand it might be difficult for some to get a good time due to time zones and this happening a bit later at night for some, but I highly encourage you to participate, as you might get lucky!
WHAT DO I GET OUT OF THIS?!
A free picture of your character, inked and colored. Because you are awesome for participating and visiting Plaid Coyote :)
For those of you unfamiliar with the lore in Majora's Mask, feel free to visit the wiki for more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Majoras_Mask

Majora's Mask - Countdown to the Final Day
Posted 12 years agoAs a big Legend of Zelda fan, I went ahead and coded a look-a-like countdown to the proposed end of the world to put on my webcomic site:
http://plaidcoyote.com/
It's counting in real time, so keep in mind it's at -8 UTC, so offset accordingly to your time zone :)
Please check back every morning and night as there will be updates within!

Rainfurrest 2012!
Posted 13 years agoWhew. Less than one week remaining. Almost all my prints and artwork are completed, and I can stop being an art hermit like I have been all month long. Thank god for celebratory beers and all other awesome little things. I'll try not to burn myself out and take a couple days to rest prior to driving down.
I've already had a number of you texting/calling me hoping to hang out with me at the con, and you know who you are, which makes you awesome. There's more people I know going to RF this year than any other con I've been to, and I'm starting to get really excited :)
SPECIAL THANKS FIRST OFF:
temrin For helping me out with laminations prior to the event

Who Will I likely see you with?
I'll be up to my usual shenanigans with those listed above, as well as some others from the Seattle and Portland crowd mainly.
Con Plans
Will mainly be running my dealer's table, but leaving after-hours open to take a break from art and chill. Going out to dinner, room parties, and most of the dances. Will probably attend some of the art jams in the evenings to mingle and catch up on table commissions.
How can I find you?
My dealer table! How convenient! :D
If I'm not around you could probably text me or msg me here on FA. I'll have international data so I'll try to make an effort to check up on things when I can. You can also bug any of those listed above and any other Vancouverites, they'll probably know where I'm hiding.
Do you do free art?
Probably not, with all the commissions I'll be taking at my table, but I can be bribed with booze, good company, or have random bouts of generosity. No guarantees though :)
Do you have prints/Cds?
Prints, yes. Oh yes, many many prints.
Too many to list, but a couple coyote pictures, otters, arcanines... I'll have a nice, big book on my table you can sort through. I tend to keep my prices on the lower end cuz you all rock.
Will you be going to parties?
As if you have to ask? ;)
Will you be performing?
Thanks for the offer, but I'm keeping sex to a minimum on this trip.
...oh wait. Oh.
That performing. No. No I will not.
Smoke?
More than likely. Only for special occasions. I can bring some clove cigars or any others down if you want me to, and I might share a hookah at some point during the trip.
And no, no weed. Apparently it's zero tolerance down there and I would like to visit the states in the future :P
Drink
Yes. The whole time. Assume I'm tipsy most of the trip. You guys have so many awesome beers down there. It's enough to drive a craft beer nut mad.
Gender
I am of the male variety. Definitely a man.
Can I hug you?
If I know you IRL and very well I'm cool with it. For all others, I'm fairly tall and fear I might crush you with my energy arms.
When in doubt, a welcome hug is fine. No clinging please. I'm not a Klingon. Star Trek is silly. Flame war commence.
Can I talk to you?
Be my guest. I'm very chatty and have no problem meeting with others.
Do keep in mind that there will be times at my table where I'll be swamped with work, talking to clients, or in 'blah' mode. If I seem a bit uninterested or distant, it's 99% of the time me being in art mode, so don't take any offense to it. Just come back later or see me after hours.
Will you be at any panels?
Maybe. I still haven't looked at what the line up is for this year. I usually go to the art jams, or life drawing, or some gaming events here and there.
Can I touch you?
Uh... probably not. I grinds me gears enough seeing super intimate displays of affection, so I will probably be firm and tell you off :P
Can I buy you drinks?
Please do. You might become my new best friend. Bonus points if you know your beers and wines.
How old are you?
Old enough.
Can I snuggle with you?
If I draw a picture of it, does that count?
If you're pissed off, should I approach you?
For kicks, maybe. Otherwise I'll let your common sense prevail.
Are you nice?
I like to think of myself as O.o
That's a big question.
Single or Taken?
My current lovers are my bicycle, beer, and video games. It's a complicated poly relationship, but they've always loved me even in my worst times.
..Otherwise single.
Cliquey?
Maybe a little? I'm very sociable, but it's hard to hang out with everyone I'm hoping to meet at these cons. If you approach me and ask chances are I'll hang out.
How tall?
6'1"
Can I Take pictures of you?
Probably not, unless I know you, or are at a room party or something off the main area. I'm no fursuiter, so I don't have the luxury of hiding myself off while doing business.
Will you get anything commissioned?
Maybe. I usually get a badge or a single art piece while I'm there. I don't have too much time to browse the dealer's den during my breaks, so whatever stands out at the time.
How can I get your attention?
By placing sacrifices/gifts/random things at my table, otherwise a simple "Hey Dave" will do.
Can I ask you to dance at the raves?
Sure, but I'll already be at most of them anyways :P I love to dance.
LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ALL THERE! :D
I've already had a number of you texting/calling me hoping to hang out with me at the con, and you know who you are, which makes you awesome. There's more people I know going to RF this year than any other con I've been to, and I'm starting to get really excited :)

Temrin is doing RainFurrest 2012 Badges!
Posted 13 years ago===RainFurrest 2012 Badges===
My buddy
has recently started taking pre-orders for RainFurrest 2012 badges. I've worked with her a couple times in the past and she's a blast to work with. If you commission her, you will get a similar feeling of joy and happiness that's best described as rainbows and unicorns. From space.
Her prices are very reasonable, and if you let her know soon, you will definitely get one before the convention, as she works quite efficiently!
Tell her I sent you and show her your love!

Posted 13 years agoAfter several months of slow converting, I was able to get my good buddy to finally get an account on here.
After much celebratory glasses of Grapefruit Ale and Rosso wine I can push this journal out in hopes to give him a bit more watchers and recognition.

Send him tons of love cuz he is awesome! Though his gallery is small, I'm already very impressed with how it's looking so far!
For myself, I wish you luck in the months to come!

SHOUT OUTS AT A GLANCE
temrin - You're an awesome table partner! Thanks for keeping me on your toes and being the usual bundle of joy you are
onnanoko - Was a nice surprise to see you next to us! I'm looking forward to more dealer's dens with you at future cons. Rainfurrest is a go!
soulscape - Glad to see you around! I've missed you dearly since the move. You are such a sweetheart going out and grabbing lunch for us!
hexv - Food runner #2. Puncher of Tyrannosaurs , rider of bears.
:mystiqe: - Thanks for popping your head by every so often! Sorry for not visiting near as much, but I really enjoyed talking to you and your table buddy about the webcomic.
MurphyErasmus - Did you do anything at the con besides visit us!? You are adorable! You inspire me in weird ways. You and Britt need to get some sort of table or art showcasing done in the future! Do it!
maxcoyote - Thanks for introducing me to your washington friends, and keeping me company the first day!
haemish - Thanks for all the room invites! I feel like a stupid, old man for not going to half of them due to lack of sleep. I'll promise to sleep more prior to cons so I can stay up later and booze it up with you and the gang.
jacq - Random, drunken coyote madness
doc-mcdowell - I often wonder if you and I are of few who can still talk philosophy and botany while tipsy...
silverrwolfe - I think we have too many inside jokes, haha!
Eikthyrnir - You give amazing back massages! I'm really looking forward to you visiting and joining us on our biking trips.
talryk - You mix amazing drinks. And if there was anyone who could get me into MLP, it would be you. Well... maybe Haemish more... but still.
e1000basetx Thanks for inviting me with your buddies to room parties, hot tubs, and other events. Sorry I missed out, Saturday was a sleepy, blurry day for me on the most part. Your suit is adorable! I'd love to talk more on your commission later.
razzylee - You're such a lively person! Please don't change who you are. You're so much fun to be around.
daiquiri - Thanks for letting me crash in your room the first night. I was so exhausted I couldn't get home x_x We need to do drinks more often.
sepiaa - You were always a short bump away it seemed! If you weren't dancing with me, we were chilling and sipping drinks in the hotel room parties. Really enjoyed!
fatigue - Thanks for the wonderful surprise badge! I'm surprised yours stayed on so long. I'm happy your first con resulted in you not sleeping for 24 hours! I hear you owned everyone in the games room. Thanks for stopping by my table every couple hours to check up on me.
hammytoy &
hammy - Apologies for not being around too much. I was only in the games room a couple short breaks after the dealer's den closed. I'll swing by later this week and we can chill.
matrices - You are friggin adorable in any one of your suits you put on. Thanks for the company during the drawing session outside the dance floor. I hope you liked all the silly felt marker doodles. Would you believe I didn't even know it was you in the Mukilteo suit till near the end?
apoxon - If I got a tattoo design, you'd be the person I'd go to. Your tribal-esque designs completely took me by surprise. I had no idea they were so charming!
mediar - Thanks for running the dealers den as smooth as possible and giving so much to the con. I feel bad I missed you singing the drunken Donkey song. Twice.
aphinity - Your contributions to conventions never fail to amaze me, and VancouFur is no exception. Thank you so much for bringing this to where it is now. We're all glad to have you aboard and living in Vancouver.
1) DEALERS DEN
Dealers Den was amazing this year! Shared a table with Temrin this year, who turned out to be such a bundle of joy. I was surprised to be sitting at the next table to Onnanoko who I didn't even know was coming. I was super glad to have you, Anatawabakadesu and Colin join us all for dinner amidst White Spot onion and gas fireplace fumes. Maybe it was the wine... I don't know.
Big thanks to Soulscape and Hex for guarding our table from time to time and bringing food and drinks, cuz Temrin and I can get too caught up in our work and temporarily forget how to do basic functions, like eating, or sometimes breathing.
I'm glad I forced myself to get up and about the Dealer's area this con. I got some time free to visit :mystiqe at her table and get some nice advice and in-depth talks on webcomics, and scribbling all the sharpie post-its at the Kitty Loves Monster table.
This year's turnout in the dealers really exceeded my expectations! I was worried there would be too many locals who already had art or grew accustomed to my pictures, but I was able to sell quite a bit more then I was expecting! Big shout out to all those who bought prints and/or commissioned badges and sketches from me: Neox, Uno, Yuro, Zale, Kiki, Teivel, Trapa, Psyrus, Void, Whitefoot, Zen, Shen, ScottTiger, Kara, Dizzy, Rufus, DarkenWolf, Emcew, Seindrache, Coal, Cal Kina, Artimis, and Matrices (sorry if I'm missing a few...)
Also, thanks to those for supporting and checking out my new webcomic, Plaid Coyote www.plaidcoyote.com It makes me happy you enjoy the type of humor. Thanks for suggestions and funny future ideas to come! Stay tuned for more to come, once every two weeks!
2) DANCE
Was able to dance for several hours straight on Friday and Saturday night. I ruined my good pair of dance shoes, completely wore out the area under the toes. Dancing nonstop really wore out my lower back.
All the dances were amazing! Kudos to the DJs I stuck around for the two nights, you all did such a wonderful job at setting the mood. I'd like to shout out to Ember, as this was his first con DJ-ing. I was -very- impressed with your lineup.
Dancing in a circle with Temrin, Zee, Hex, Soulscape, and a few others for an hour was fun. I made a complete fool of myself mucking up a dance move and landing with my ass on the floor. It was pretty funny.
Thanks for the company during most of the dances Whitefoot, Haemish, Jacq, and Eikthyrnir! Matrices, you were so adorable in your Mukilteo suit outside! I'm glad you liked my silly, late night scribbles in the giant artbook.
3) FRIENDS
Once again, thanks so much to those who kept me company in the dealer's den Temrin, Onnanoko, Soulscape, Sepiaa etc.
Big shout out to the Washington crowd, especially Maxcoyote for introducing me to his group: Talryk, Pike, Razzy, Madelin, and Kooza (I know I'm forgetting a couple)
Thanks for tagging along Fatigue, Hammy: and Hammytoy. I'm really sorry I wasn't able to stick in the gamers room and draw with you longer. I was completely in commission mode during the afternoon stretches. I'll stop by later this week and catch up with you three.
Haemish, Jacq, Doc, Eikthyrnir and SilverRWolfe you five rock! I'll remember to get decent sleep BEFORE a con for once and put in more time in your room parties. I might also have to request more back massages from Eik. Maybe.
I definitely know I'm missing WAY more people, but I'm going on low amounts of sleep and a few of the events are blurred. So please forgive me if you're not on this list here. I really appreciate the time everyone took to talk with me, commission art, support and promote my work. Keep being awesome!
4) CONBOOK COVER
Whether old or new news, Apoxon, Temrin, Soulscape and I worked together for the conbook cover this year. It was a good week of rushing and many messages back and forth, but it was super fun to do. We seem to like it, and from the response I was hearing many others seemed to as well. Thanks Thumper for the wonderful compliment. The final framed piece with the four different colored badges turned out amazing. Thanks Aphinity for including me and the girls for our work, and to Tony Greyfox for printing them out.
5) TO STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS
I think I speak for many others when I say the convention exceeded all expectations, mine included. Considering it being a first-year con, things ran very smooth. With the exception of reg hiccuping time to time the first day, this was nothing compared to the rest of it. Mediar and Apoxon, I really enjoyed how you organized the dealer's room and informed us of important announcements.
Torwin, Akonite and others, thanks helping make the dance area so fun to be in, including lighting/sound/equipment. Ember, you're doing a really great job. I can't believe that was your first DJ event. Keep striving and learning the ropes and you'll go far.
Vancouver has been in need of a con for a very long time. Since joining the local crowd in 2004 I'm so happy to see something like this finally happen. After seeing so many pour their time into this, it makes me glad to be in this city with so many passionate people. Being here to see us go into next year makes me giddy.
6) FINAL COMMENTS
Thanks for reading this far everyone!
I'll be finishing up a batch of take home commissions this week and next, so if I owe you a badge, please let me know by sending a note or letting me know. I have everyone's contact information, so we're good for now.
Otherwise, expect to have your badges mailed out by next week. I'll wait until I have them all done and mail them out in one batch. Thanks for your patience and to those who've already passed on their contact information, you make my job much easier!
Gonna make it an early night for myself tonight. Back to doing taxes and other things I've neglected the past two weeks preparing for this convention.
Peace out!

Yeah... I've had one for awhile but I figured I'd post a link to my Twitter account here:
Feel free to follow me for the daily ramblings of a fox-coyote-shapeshifting-thing. I'd love to hear from you :)
In the meantime, the Xmas holidays are quickly approaching! Three secret santa parties this past week have left me completely tuckered out! I've only found time now to finish wrapping gifts and tossing cards in envelopes. I'm planning a collaboration painting project near the end of this week, so depending on how much work we get done I might have a few things to throw on here before I poof for the holidays.
What will I be doing? Got 6 days off from work and plan on spending that time chilling with family and attending any parties that don't fall on the 24th and 25th in Vancouver when I can. Oh... and Boxing Day shopping <3

All art uploaded, and belated Rainfurrest update
Posted 14 years agoThanks for all those patient enough to deal with my massive art flood as I got everything back up and running on my gallery, you're awesome! Another big shout out goes to all the new watchers during that time. I'm sorry I wasn't able to get to all of you, but it's much appreciated! :)
I'll be finishing up a couple commissions here before I start working and posting some upcoming projects, so stay tuned.
Posted a month and a half late, Rainfurrest 2011 was a success! This was my 2nd convention running a table in the dealer's room, and I had so much fun meeting up with so many familiar faces and seeing some new ones stop by my table. I was slammed with a pretty bad flu for the Friday and Saturday, so most of you wouldn't have seen me in my usual chipper self. Thanks to all those who bought some of the larger prints off my table, mainly Anthro-fox, Sunspot, and Nuwisha55 to name a few off my head. Almost all of my smaller prints got sold, surprisingly, and I must've done a bit over 50 badges/sketches/inks/etc over the course of three days. It was pretty taxing, and I spent many late nights in MongooseInk, Balto and Xyk's room finishing them all, but was glad I could get out on the dancefloor Saturday night till 4 in the morning and listen to all the talented DJ's mixes. Staying till the wee hours of the morning to hear Akonite play was thrilling.
And in no particular order...
chipfox - You are a total sweetheart for organizing the room for us. I'm so glad you were able to stay for Sunday!
maneater - Thanks for sharing my table with me, you were great at keeping me entertained, at least with all the silly commissions you were getting on your end of the table ;)
quickxyk - For being my part time table runner, dance partner, taquitos supplier, table grid shipper, entertaining coyote-face. Seriously, you rock so much!
mongooseink - It was great putting a face to your name! Thanks for letting me spam your markers and keeping me entertained with the IT Crowd in your room. I can't believe I found someone who can stand spicier food then I!
balto - Your sense of humor is funnyyy! Just keep being your awesome self mister :)
anthrofox - For buying the large "Seeds of Creation" picture. I can't wait to see a photo of it on the rest of your 'wall of awesome art'
sunspot - For buying the adorable marshmallow fox painting!
nuwisha55 - For buying the large print of the Rainfurrest badge! Also, thanks for coming by my table so often, I needed the small breaks in action from all the crazy drawing. Your 'ineffective monsters' idea in your sketchbook was an awesome idea too!
akonite - Thanks for putting on such a stellar performance Saturday night! I can't believe I danced with the flu for 5 hours straight. I think I sweat it all off, cuz I felt amazing on Sunday morning.
kyell - Thanks for stopping by my table for the nice chat. It's been a good year since I seen you last in Seattle! Sorry I wasn't able to find time to stop by Sunday - I got swamped with last minute commissions I wanted to wrap up before the con ended. I'll remind myself to start your commission once I'm finished this batch.
MurphyErasmus - You gave me so many giggles! When will we stop doing our bash-compliment-wars? You also gave me Cold-FX during Saturday morning, which was super sweet of you, and you have the silliest ideas for badges!
maxcoyote - I'm glad I got to meet you! I love your character and it was a blast talking hockey-talk with another person who actually enjoys the sport.
mandakatt - I needed your bubbly attitude Saturday afternoon to help pull me through. Keep being your awesome self :)
Lady-Serpent - I'm glad I got to see more of you this con, I missed you this last year dearly! Thanks for the wonderful sketch in my sketchbook. I love that glasses ya gave on me, and you made me look all slim and sexy(er)!
-All the Alberta furs - Haha! Every year it seems. I love it when all of you stop by my table and play catch up with me. Every year I'm reminded of the short but amazing time when I was living in Alberta and how thankful I was to be there - Maestro, Fallout, CheetahKit, Lucifur, Fox MC, Jalmu, Sngglbny, Morg and anyone else who I'm forgetting at this time, you all know who you are :3
I'm sorry if I forgot any names. I met so many wonderful people in the three days time it would take me awhile to write them all down!
Hacked Account Update: Re-uploading Art
Posted 14 years agoJust an update on my hacked account.
Unfortunately, there is no possible way to restore my lost submissions, journals, and watchers I have watched. I wanted to give everyone a notice that I'll be re-uploading as much of my artwork as I can, so I apologize in advance if I clog up your submission list with mass amounts of art spam.
I'm honestly not too upset over this. It's about time my gallery got some of the older stuff out. I will miss the often humorous and inspiring comments on some of my submissions however.
Thanks to everyone who's waited patiently while I got this figured out. Once I get most of my artwork uploaded I'll give a good Rainfurrest 2011 update.
In the meantime, if there's any of my older stuff (or just anything in general) that you'd like to see in here, please let me know!
Davecko out :)

Posted 14 years agoJust wanted everyone to know that my account was apparently attacked and wiped while I was at Rainfurrest. I'm working with the admins on repairs. I hope to be back soon!
