It feels good
Posted 13 years agoto make music again... it had been a while.
I put together three full songs over the past two weeks. Not bad!
Some would say they don't count because they are the equivalent of musical fan-tribute, but... i say whatever. Whatever inspires. If it makes you want to create, then it's great.
These songs really aren't full of pony stuff, anyway. I prefer sampling pieces that don't have spoken words in them, so a lot of the samples i use are nondescript. Even people who don't know anything about the show could probably enjoy this stuff (provided they are openminded and patient enough to enjoy this type of music to begin with.)
A journal. Something new for that quadrant of my page... 2 year old journal? gtfo.

Ending Endings

Songs for Endings
I'm thinking this is what i'll call the project i'm working on. ...Well, one of those versions anyway. I can't quite decide which wording i like best -
'Ending' as a verb?
or 'Endings' plural noun?
Either way it is quite apt.

it's all nothing now but an ending song
so beautiful
another morning's come
apocalypse dawn
for those forced to heed the call
to hear the tolling of the bell
stepping through the gate
compliantly to meat their fate
oblivion is all there ever was for us
and the hollow wolves feast well today.

Posted 15 years agoWell, I wasn't going to originally, but i've decided to upload some of the work from my Chocolate Okapi alternate project...
It's not intended to be dark or expressive on a personal level, which is why i wasn't going to include it here originally... it's a lot more upbeat and well, i can't really say it's 'dancey' because it's too frenetic for that... but it's more like something that would be in a club, perhaps. Maybe a club for people warped on mind-expanding chemicals.
Anyhow, i've uploaded four CO tracks, and i'm going to call it a night now. Maybe someone will find them enjoyable :D

the whir of angel's wings
heavens sing above
vibrations of the earth
whispers of love
and
the fleeting beat beneath
arresting the last breath
a final step toward
collected debt, promises retained
fall against a wall so stained
to be raised up
while a martyr's crown trickles down
these moments freeze
and
oblivion's wrought poetry
in time inscribed on the riverbank
born witness to the gleaming grey
so clean under the silt
attendants to the altar stand
in white disassembly
reeling and casting again
and
these moments are all the same
detached from feeling
just another day to forget.

First, i'd like to thank those of you who came over here for your support... hopefully you watched because you truly enjoy this stuff and look forward to future uploads! That means a lot to me.
And so... I have a lot of music, as i've been dabbling for a decade now (Though most everything from the first half was wretched and awful ...and the more recent stuff certainly isn't perfect either, but it is what it is.) and i hope to continue to create new things as well. For a while i'll probably be uploading a lot of tracks that have been sitting around waiting to see the light of day - maybe a couple every few days - but of course if i come up with something new that's worthwhile i'll post it here.
Most of what i post here will be Dead Horse Dreaming material, but i may post some older things from before this project's inception as well... We'll see.
Um anyway... so stay tuned! And welcome.
