The good first: though it wasn't quite as fast as I would've liked, I've gotten all the certifications needed to really make a desirable candidate of myself. So now the job hunt has begun, and just today was my first interview! Went quite well, it's not locked in yet but definitely encouraging that I've gotten this far already. Definitely quite optimistic about landing myself a new job by the end of the year.

As for the other side of things, well... yeah unfortunately I've kind of reached that point where my writing spirit has in another rut, now I gotta work back up to it. Fortunately now that the cramming phase is over and my schedule is a lot more freeform, now seems a good time to make another effort... I think for now I just gotta derust a little with RPs and short-form stuff and the like before I take on full stories again. I really wanna be determined about this, and it'll definitely help whenever I can get my meds replenished again. For now, I just wanna reassure that things are still moving along, and I don't intend to throw in the towel on this. Just bear with me a lil more here ^^'

I'll keep it brief I suppose. Things are coming along irl, taking time to gather some resume buffs so I can REALLY put myself out there for a new job. Within a month or so I should be in a much better position to be considered. Everything's good, I just haven't really been able to focus on writing at all recently in my current environment. The REAL income needs to take priority, after all ^^'

Still, I want to try hard to find a place for my writings in this environment. At the very least, to chew through the current queue... highly unlikely I'll be able to take many new ones if at all for the time being, gotta make sure I can get all caught up. So, my lease is about up, and still no job, so... I'm gonna have to be moving back in with family temporarily, in order to fully lock in on getting my career moving forward. Apologies for no uploads this time around, I guess I've been feeling... oddly drained, recently. Not sure what it is, just gonna have to keep trying to get to bed at a good hour and be a little more careful about managing my energy. There's also my rigorous new exercise routine... on the one hand it's great that I'm getting so dedicated to it, but on the other, it's got me a little concerned about the way morning sessions affect my energy throughout the day. Wondering if I should be a little more careful about how far I push myself, just so that I'm not totally beat once it's time to start doing productive things. Idk, something I'll have to figure out I suppose.

In case the name's a point of confusion, btw, I do kinda want my primary identity to be ShinySwirls, and perhaps Mobydawuf on the side; but y'all know how FA is. Dead_Monsoon isn't my ideal name, but I don't terribly mind my account being stuck with it for the foreseeable future. When it comes to my core identity though, ShinySwirls is what I'm sticking with for sure. Maybe once display names roll out beyond FA+, that'll be a good opportunity to properly rebrand heh.

In other news, I've made a few changes to my TOS:

- 2-week refund policy has been changed to 1 month. I still wanna push myself hard to be more reliable than I used to be, but it occurred to me that 2 weeks isn't such a crazy long time to wait for art in the grand scheme of things, and on top of that I suppose it'd feel really awkward extending the refund offer to a client that may not even be that annoyed about the wait. I still want to at least make it a self-imposed goal to finish any commission I receive within 2 weeks, but this is me allowing myself to not brute-force it. Also, longer commissions have been extended to a 2 month deadline.
- Added mention of the other sites I've expanded to, specifically Deviantart, Inkbunny, Weasyl and SoFurry.
- Added disclaimers regarding my depiction of non-consensual content, as well as zero tolerance on underage sexual content.
- Added the option to request withholding uploads from specific sites, rather than making it a fully private commission; I know some sites have their reputations, and I totally get not wanting to be associated with it. So I definitely wanna respect my clients' wishes in that regard. I don't condone everything that goes on here and there, this is just my attempt to put my own stuff wherever it may find new sets of eyes.
- Added a provision for past clients of mine who don't want their old commissions posted on specific sites; I'm willing to take down any uploads upon request.

I've also made changes to my submission form since opening it up; There's a new question allowing clients the option to request anonymity, and/or request to not have it uploaded to one or more sites. And the contact question has been expanded to include the other furry sites, just in case.

Lastly, an update on the other sites I suppose. Now that all the legacy content's uploaded, I figure the next step will be to upload all my recent stories at a quickened pace, so that they can catch up to my output here, and allow for simultaneous cross-posting on all platforms. Not much else to say on that.

As for how things are going over there... Weasyl and SoFurry have more or less been absolute ghost towns so far, Inkbunny's a slow trickle of positive results, and DA's had some real pop-offs. (though who knows how much of that attention is actually real lol) I want to spend at least a month with all 4 of them, just to give them a chance, and also establish enough of a presence that if anyone DOES find me there, it's enough to motivate them to look for me elsewhere heh. But if enough time passes and results are not forthcoming(most likely Weasyl and SoFurry), then I'm probably just going to discontinue uploads over there. Not that I regret my effort, necessarily; if nothing else, it's another place to establish my presence. Just part of my strategy to cast a wide net, and see which fish stay caught; there's gonna be duds, and that's alright. Whatever growth I do get is certainly worth the investment!

Whew, goddamn that was a lot... 120 uploads in all, spanning 4 sites. That was an insane amount of legwork, but finally there's stuff out there to get some more people's attention heh. Finally, my commission sheet, which I'll be using to announce commission openings, is still in progress. Was hoping to debut it today, but pretty damn tied up already... might just let myself drop it whenever it's ready this one time, then make it a regular Friday thing. Flying by the seat of my pants a bit here, but damn is it so so so nice to feel like everything's truly moving forward, frankly for the first time since I've started my writing efforts lol. Currently eyeballing both Inkbunny and Deviantart as places I could expand my writing enterprise to, to hopefully put myself in front of more eyes. Thing is I definitely don't wanna dump my ENTIRE backlog of 88 stories, it's an awful lot of hassle and might border on spam. Instead I'm looking to grab a sampling of all my best, most notable stories to submit in the other places; 20 is the figure I have in mind, but could def go a little higher than that.

My question is this, to those who have enjoyed my stories; is there a specific story of mine that you really love that you want to give a vote of confidence? Of course, if it's a really long/ambitious one, or it has >5000 views and/or >100 faves, it's already got a very solid chance of making the cut; just trying to think about which ones might have a strong shot at getting good attention with a new crowd, even among the shorter stories that haven't gotten much of a chance. I also wonder if specific kinks/themes tend to do better elsewhere compared to here. Curious to hear what y'all might think!

Whewwwwww, so many hours of busy work and it's finally finished. All past story submissions have now received updates to their source files, thumbnails, and other details! Here's a full changelog of sorts:

The files are all PDFs now, with my new standardized format, featuring a header that includes title/a small list of themes/word count/commissioner or dedication/my socials, Bender font at size 13, and light gray-on-black text that's very easy on the eyes. No more required download in order to read!!

Thumbnails are also a new standardized format featuring my sona's emblem, or a relevant custom image(btw a few of those were removed just to avoid stepping on some toes). All the Hypnovember effects are also somewhat preserved, so there's still a bit of familiarity there. Most notably, all thumbnails now include a brief list of kinks and themes, and a meter at the bottom to visually indicate how long the story is. The notches represent the following levels:

- tiny: ~0.5k
- short: ~1k
- medium: ~2k
- long: ~3k
- fairly long: ~4k
- very long: ~5k
- extra long: beyond 5k(none have reached this level yet but we'll seeeeee)

Finally, some titles and descriptions were adjusted, mainly to ensure word counts and trigger warnings are included and up-to-date, and to remove stories from the descriptions themselves to reduce clutter and account for the new file format being more accessible. Also added new tags here and there.

Also been planning to do a once-over of every individual story to fix typos and structure here and there, but since that's proving to be an enormous undertaking on its own, I'm gonna mostly put that off for now. I did at least do my first two uploads though, may chip away at others here and there.

Because I'm unhealthily sentimental I did personally archive all the original source file/thumbnail uploads before replacing them, so if anyone happens to care about that for some reason, I could provide the legacy stuff on request.

One slight regret I have is not implementing some sort of POV indicator, to identify 1st/2nd/3rd person perspective, or a more unique approach I may have taken. Could see myself going back and throwing in something like that, but we'll see.

Hope y'all enjoy the glow-up! It's a real good feeling, that's for sure. It's been a very, very, very spotty legacy so far, but it's still nice to look back and appreciate how much I've made happen, and how far I've come in 5 years! Here's to more good spicy stuff in the future~

20 USD per 1k words, flat rate. Perhaps subject to change in the future, but I’m keeping it simple for the time being. 1k is the minimum for now, perhaps I’ll be open to more bite-sized offerings in the future.

HOW TO REACH ME:

My commission form can be found on the front of my FA page, in the description of any of my announcement posts, or pinned on my Bsky profile. You will be asked to provide a profile on Discord, Telegram, FA, Twitter, Bsky, or other sites I'm on that you can be reached by, as well as your PayPal that you’ll receive an invoice through. (I may add to the list of sites in the future whenever I expand my enterprise to different sites!) You’ll be asked to name your desired length, and give the following details about what you want: A simple overview of your idea, the kinks/themes you want, references for characters involved, and a step-by-step process of how it should play out. Don’t sweat it if you don’t get all the right details down right away, once we’re in contact we can work out specifics as needed.

LAYING DOWN RULES:

Pricing is based on my own discretion, and I expect you to respect that. I reserve the right to charge extra if I anticipate an unusual amount of difficulty in working on your idea. If the figure I give you doesn’t feel worth it, that’s quite alright. Just don’t make a stink about it, obviously. For the foreseeable future, I’m accepting through PayPal only.

I expect a reasonable level of etiquette and decency from those I work with; don’t be a dick, don’t hurl around slurs or other hurtful stuff. General bigotry and/or distasteful political affiliations will be disqualifying as a client, and I may check your profile just to be sure. You know who you are.

I reserve the right to decline a commission for any reason. I don’t expect to do so super often, but if something does make me feel uncomfortable about working with you or your idea, I may decide to call it off, ideally before any payment or work commences. Side-note, in order to prove to me you’ve at least read this much of the tos, enter the word ‘boney’ on the first question of the form when making your submission. Again, disappointment is understandable in that case, but please don’t make a scene out of it. If a client proves to be unworkable, I won’t hesitate to blacklist them from any further dealings.

If a commission is unable to be completed for any reason, I will issue a full refund for any amount paid to me. That includes clients wishing to call off the commission for any reason of their own; give the go-ahead and I’ll shut it down, no questions asked.

WHAT I’LL DO:

Obviously my primary trade lies in furry kink shorts, but I’m open to exploring different genres and themes of writing whenever the time or feeling arises. If you want a more traditional narrative-focused story, or just more vanilla sexy action, I’m down to try it. Likewise if you’ve got something more unusual in mind, like writing dialogue for a broader project or designing a CYOA. While I have my comfort zone for now, I’d love to try and expand my talents, especially if my normal output gets stale over time. Bottom line, don’t be afraid to hit me with something I don’t expect! For anything non-kink related, anything within reason is fine. Should be a story with decent sense to it, and with honest intentions; no hateful content, no revenge fantasy bullshit. For all OCs involved not owned by the client, there must be consent from the owner, or at least verifiable trust established between them and the client, with confidence that they’ll approve of it.

Keep in mind that quality is less guaranteed the farther out there things get; I’ll give it my all, just can’t promise I’ll fully do it justice if it’s unfamiliar territory.

DISCLAIMER REGARDING NON-CONSENSUAL(NC) CONTENT

Many of my stories feature non-con themes, which involves actions taken that are in direct violation of an individual's consent; this includes individuals being subjected to r**e, willful disregard of their consent and/or boundaries, and otherwise harsh, destructive and/or highly committal activities against their will. I do not condone these actions being taken against real people under any circumstances, end of story. Fiction is all well and good, but irl is a different matter. My firm belief is that when it comes to any sexual/committal action taken irl: explicit, informed consent must be acknowledged, respected, and maintained at all times, amongst all parties involved. My NC stories are not intended to glorify or justify irl violation of consent in any way; they are for entertainment purposes only, and all characters involved in NC play are ONLY involved with explicit permission and consent from their respective irl owners. I'm eager as always to share in my interest in these heavy kinks with others, but any genuine suggestion that it's okay to engage in IRL NC play(aka. sexual assault) will not be tolerated, nor will using someone's character in such ways without their permission. (Teasing is fine as long as it's in good taste, and isn't doubled down upon) I hope that makes my stance clear enough.

PS: consensual non-consent(CNC) as an irl activity is fine and dandy in my book, so long as everyone's actual consent continues to be respected, and best practices are followed.

I also have a zero tolerance policy on nsfw content involving explicitly underaged characters. All characters engaged in sexual contexts are assumed to be 18+, and, where applicable, assumed to be aged-up accordingly.

GETTING THE BALL ROLLING:

Once your form has been submitted, I’ll reach out to you whenever I’m able to in order to finalize details. I may recommend a change in word count if your estimate feels too small or too large based on your prompt; either way, I’ll do my best to make it work. I also may ask additional questions as needed regarding story details I’m uncertain about.

Once everything’s finalized, I will be sending an invoice to your provided PayPal address; once payment’s verified, you’ll be added to the queue.

If your story is long enough to require multiple writing sessions, I will send a WIP each time I conclude a session focused on it. You can probably expect a status update for every 2k words or so on average. Feel free to peruse through it and request any changes or fixes you’d like; I welcome any amount of criticism as long as it’s constructive and productive. Small adjustments are A-ok; however, restarting entire sections from scratch may incur additional charges depending on how much extra work it creates. Once a final draft is provided, I’ll allow one more opportunity for changes to be made, and will do an additional once-over myself. Once satisfaction is verified, your commission will be queued up for upload! It could take a while depending on how packed the queue is; if you don’t wanna wait, you can request a jump forward, and have it released within the week! I’ll only accept one of these per week though, naturally.

As for how soon you can expect results? I’m aiming to make writing a daily endeavor, which means you could see same-day results, but it will vary. I’ll always shoot for getting it done with a few days, maybe a little longer for beefier stories.

I will ensure the end result is at least as long as the agreed-upon word count; know that there’s a chance I may end up overshooting it, making it longer than expected. In that situation, compensating me for the additional work is optional; no pressure, I brought it on myself after all!

To avoid repeats of past fiascos, I’m imposing a strict 1-month deadline for finishing commissions; for stories that are 5k or longer the deadline will be 2 months. If your commission is not finished within that deadline, I will immediately reach out to offer a full refund for your commission, regardless of how much progress has been made. You may either accept it, or ask to renew the commission, which will extend the deadline by another 1-2 months. I may decide to finish a refunded commission on my own time later on.

NO-SHOWS & OTHER NUANCES:

I don’t expect immediate responses every time, but know that delayed responses may result in cancellation of your commission, or at least for your opportunities to make adjustments. If a form has been submitted, and I do not receive a response within 24 hours, I will consider the commission forfeit. Once a commission is paid for, I will work on it to the finish regardless of what responses I receive from that point onward. If a WIP receives no response within 12 hours, I will take that to mean no changes are desired. If a final draft receives no response within 24 hours, I will take that to mean you’re satisfied, and will queue it up for submission. If a refund offer is not answered within 24 hours, I will go forward with the refund.

Full client confidentiality will be maintained. Requests to maintain client anonymity will be honored; you will be referred to as Anonymous. Requests to keep a commission private will be honored too; just ask at any time that it not be uploaded. Keep in mind your story will be submitted to FA, in addition to other similar sites, which may include Deviantart, Inkbunny, Weasyl and SoFurry. You may also request to not have it uploaded on specific sites, if desired. Additionally, for past clients whose works I've recently submitted to other sites, feel free to reach out if you want me to take those uploads down.

I will create a thumbnail for every submission I make on FA; if your story is based on an art commission, that commission could be featured in the thumbnail for the story submission, contingent on the artist’s permission of course. Otherwise, either a suitable fair-use image will be sought out, or the thumbnail will contain no external material at all. Clients may request a specific eligible image if desired, or request no image at all. Clients may also request to view the thumbnail prior to submission, if desired.

Finally got a new upload in, I think it's time. Check my journals for my new updated pricing/TOS! Also decided I'm going to be opening a Forms link for receiving commissions; that'll be popping up on my profile momentarily. Lastly, I've got a fun little commissions sheet in the works, once that's finished I'll be able to post that rather than rely on journals to make my announcements! So that'll be fun.

Once that form's open, I'll be ready to receive commission requests! For now I'll have unlimited slots, want to get a feel for how much demand I'm contending with. Going to be shooting for uploads every Friday afternoon, ideally one commission and one personal work per week. Let's see how this goes~

Another thing is, since I'm finally paying more attention to writing again, I figured this would be a great time to go back through my whole catalog of kinky writings, and do a few things to tidy it all up; for example, I'm planning to update all the thumbnails to a single consistent format so that it's not so... all over the place. Also want to standardize the upload files into a consistent format and file type(PDF), and while I'm at it I might scan through the stories themselves and polish them up a bit! Something else I think I might do is branch out to other sites, specifically DA and Inkbunny. Don't know if I'll be uploading EVERYTHING to there, maybe at least what I consider to be my personal highlights. Might as well get myself out there more, I wanna provide for all these freaky little online spaces! Totally open to advice on which sites may or may not be worth the trouble, as well.

On the personal side of things(check my featured to catch up)... not much luck so far, but I'm keeping at it. The application process is quite an exhausting one to be sure, just a matter of returning to it on the regular.

Just got a very sudden lay-off notice. Won’t go too far into details, let’s just say a certain orange man may or may not be indirectly responsible. I’m not SUPER worried, I’ve got a solid resume, especially with the experience from my previous position; not to mention a good bit of savings to coast on. Still, hopefully I can find a new position with decent haste here.

In the meantime… this seems the perfect time to fully commit to writing commissions once again. I don’t necessarily expect this to provide a sizable or consistent income, but it seems like an excellent way to temporarily hold the line, as well as make use of all the freed up time. Plus now that I’m medicated and have received a fresh kick in the ass, things may start looking up for consistent output on this account.

Still, I’m going to hold off at least a week, so I can kick things off with some personal works. I won’t feel confident offering commissions again until I’ve proven that consistent uploads can happen. So for now all I’m saying is stay tuned, and wish me luck!

It pains me to say this, but my struggles really haven't improved in recent months... in fact, lately I've been having new symptoms that reek not only of ADHD, but depression, which I never ever would've expected of myself before now. It's not an outward sense of sadness or gloom, just... often feels like a trial just to coax myself out of bed, let alone get anything productive done. It's gone beyond an inability to focus on important things, to where now I constantly have such low energy that I struggle even to commit to smaller tasks. I'm still making an effort, seeking resources, and figuring out what to do to handle this, but I've clearly got a long way to go.

What this means for my writing is, well, what you'd expect. I don't think I've squeezed out a single sentence on personal OR commission work this past month at minimum... There's still that occasional thought that I might be able to do at least a little bit on a given day, but that spark has been completely absent. Simply put, I'm in no condition to maintain commission work at the moment, when it's enough of a trial just to focus on my day job. This doesn't mean I'm giving up on writing by any means... the ambition is still there, the abundance of ideas is still there, even the confidence that I'm entirely capable of producing quality work is still there. But I need to admit to myself that regular output just isn't going to happen until things start changing for me in a big way. And unfortunately, the same goes for the multitude of obscenely overdue commissions that I still owe.

I've been terrified of making this decision for a long time, but at this point I see no other choice. I will be issuing full refunds for any outstanding writing commissions, plus 5$ extra as compensation, to any of my clients I can track down(will also have to recall how much each person paid). It pains me that I couldn't bring y'all's visions to life, but at the same time I don't want to string people along with ultimately false promises any longer. You deserve better than that. I have made some progress on a few of them here and there, and I'll share whatever I've managed to produce if I haven't already. And who knows, once I have some real momentum going I may decide to finish them up, free of charge naturally. But it's clear at this point that the right thing, as well as the best thing I can do for myself, is to take responsibility, and cast off this burden that's weighed on me in the background all these years.

Right now, the plan is simple... keep up the fight, and get some amount of order and function in my life again. Eventually, once I'm in a better spot, I'll get my writing flow going again, you can be sure of that. I've no intention of giving up on my potential. It's just going to take baby steps... lots and lots of them. To whatever extent I'm able to write for the time being, I'll be focusing exclusively on personal stuff, just to foster as much of a spark as I can. Someday, I'll be truly ready to produce nice and sexy story commissions for everyone in a timely manner... I've still got hope. Just a matter of putting in the work. Oh, and needless to say I'm skipping Hypnovember this year; a shame, but that is SUPER not happening in my current state lol

As always, I really truly appreciate everyone's interest in my work. I apologize yet again for the way I've held out on everyone for so long... more than anything, I've been frustrated with myself for failing to deliver. But I'm gonna keep my head up as best I can and keep trying. That's the best any of us can do.

I appear to have disappeared for a long stretch of time again. I'll keep it brief this time; the war with ADHD is still ongoing, currently trying my damndest to pursue a diagnosis and likely get on meds. Between that and life advancing to a new phase and all, it's been really hard for me to focus on writing, even when I feel like it absolutely shouldn't be. Feels like the spark's coming back though; we'll see how that goes. For now I've got a butt ton of commissions to dump for those who are interested in seeing em, and I'm gonna really try and plow through that hideously long writing backlog for real this time. I really apologize for having kept everyone waiting, and I hope to be able to once again provide the fabled lewdz in the near future ^^'

Yeah I kinda slipped off the face of the earth when it comes to commissions and writing, didn't I? I'll be up front, I've barely been able to muster the writing spirit at all the past couple of months. Guess it's a combination of wrestling with my terminal adhd and lack of ability to focus, on top of the pressure of classes I also can barely bring myself to put the time into. So, I suppose I'll just be honest and make this unofficial hiatus a more official one. For the next 2-3 weeks, I gotta fully focus on my studies; may as well accept that I'm not gonna be able to reasonably do that while also getting a significant amount of writing in.

Once that's done however, I should have ample opportunity to get back into the swing of things! So, here's the deal. For those 5 of you that are still owed a proper story, if there's some other premise on your mind that you're more interested in than the one you originally requested, I'm down to write that instead. And whichever you'll choose, I can also give you the option to up the word count by 1k! Ex. if you paid for 2k, you can have 2k or 3k. I've also made a bit of progress on some of them already, so I could also finish that up and also prepare something extra. We can figure things out on a case-by-case basis once the time comes! Hoping to provide y'all your money's worth on top of a decent compensation for all the time I've made you wait haha. Thanks a bunch for understanding!!

Sorry about the radio silence to those of you waiting on your commissions! Thing is, I stepped especially far out of my comfort zone this time around with a lot of the settings I took on, so as a result I’ve struggled even more than usual to remain focused on them. Got another round of college classes to worry about on top of that. Rest assured though, I WILL get them done! I’m thinking I might try alternating between personal works and commissions, to try and clear the vents so to speak. I’m hoping to redouble my efforts for real soon and get em done! ^^
