This month has been crazy!
General | Posted 8 years agoSo, as the title suggest, the month of May has been a very crazy, busy and stressful month so far, and, as you can imagine, that's kept me from my work. Here's the rundown of what's happened so far.
The first two weeks weren't anything too crazy, but that was really my only reprieve May has given us. On the Mother's Day weekend, my boyfriend and I went down to my parent's place on Friday to spend the weekend with them and go to my doctor's appointment. We went to a family reunion on Saturday and to my uncle's place on Sunday for Mother's Day, both of which had boiled crawfish for the main course (and they were absolutely delicious). My brother and I also fished in the evening during those days and we caught a nice mess of bass (Nothing like catching some food straight from the source). We had a good ol' time. But that's when shit kinda hit the fan.
Monday morning, I woke up sick with the usual sinus cold I get from time to time, probably from being around a bunch of people that weekend. Then later that evening, my boyfriend, Mitsu, get's sick with some kind of stomach bug, but that was just the start of it. Around 6pm Tuesday he had a lot of chest pain. We tried the acid reducer medicine here thinking that's all it was, but it didn't help at all. So at 12am Wednesday we went to the ER. Long story short, they didn't find anything wrong and marked it up as gastritis. He was fine after the medicine they gave him... for a while anyway. Thursday morning, he woke up with the chest pain again, but this time it was closer to his heart and he left forearm would start to hurt when his chest would flare up. So we made another trip to the ER. This time, he showed some abnormalities in his blood test and EKG. Cause of this, they wanted him to stay over night so they could monitor him to make sure nothing serious happened. I won't get into all the details, but more test and two days at the hospital, they chalked it up to an isolated incident most likely caused as a side effect of the stomach bug he got a few days earlier called pericarditis. And this still isn't the end of the shittiness.
Friday when I came home to the apartment to check on our cats, I noticed Zeus, our 8 year old orange and white tabby, had what looked like hematoma on his right ear. So, I brought him in Saturday morning to our vet to get it checked out and drained. Well, during the exam, she found that he had an ear infection going on and him scratching at probably caused the blood vessel to rupture. While I was there, I also told them about how he was pawing at his mouth for about a week or so, pulling at his tooth. Whelp turns out it was dead, so they were gonna have to take it out and give him antibiotics for his other teeth that weren't too far off. I would have to bring him in Monday for all that to be taken care of. After the tooth pulling and draining of the hematoma, the vet said that it was rather unusual in color, shape and size for one, so he kept a sample of the tissue to possibly send off at a later date if it starts to change. We brought him back home, and he was seriously loopy and out of it. He couldn't walk a few feet without falling over. Since we only have a small pet carrier as a safe place to put him in and I didn't want him to be cramped up the whole time, I babysat him and cuddled him to give him some comfort for the whole evening. He's doing better now, tho he doesn't like the medicine he has take, tho I don't blame him lol.
Annnnnd, that's about it. If you sat through and read or even skimmed through that, you're a trooper! Even with how wordy it is, that's not nearly every detail, but I didn't want to write a short story about it lol ^^;; But yeah... things have been crazy. Like they say, when it rains, it pours. I'm hoping that things we be calm for the while now. Now! It's time to get back to work!
Anyways, see ya next time~

General | Posted 8 years agoHey guys!
Just wanted to let you know that I added spreadsheet image of my base prices on my page for those who have come to me and asked. I'll also link it at the end of this Journal as well.
A visual guide is currently in the works. The reference images are almost complete and then all that's left to do is editing the layout.
And that's pretty much it for now. Thanks guys~
Prices can be found here
Sincerely,
Dei

October Update
General | Posted 8 years agoHey guys! Giving y'all a quick little update on things.
I've been job hunting and working on my mental health for most of the month so not much arting has been aside from the commissions I had. There is one place that I called that seems pretty promising. It's a local screen printing shop that also knew the owner of the last screen printing job I had before they closed down and seemed really interested after hearing that. It'd be part-time with me pretty much coming in when needed so that still leaves plenty of time to do art on the side. Nothing set in stone, yet but I'm being hopeful.
As far as the mental health goes, I'm finally back on my proper meds after being bad and not going to the doctor to get them refilled. Still not sure how their working right now, but I have had an easier time of getting up and actually doing things now, so that's a plus. Also, while it's not mental health, I had my knees x-rayed yesterday. I've had a spur in my right knee since middle school from playing softball, but back then it never really bothered me much. After so many years, now both my knees are kinda messed up. It hurts bending down and getting up from bending down is even worse, and they both sound like tires running over gravel when I do that. Even standing for really long periods of time makes them uncomfortable and it's been like this for a while now. I'm hoping it's nothing too serious, but I'm glad that I'm going to be finding out what's wrong with them.
Still working on getting different sites updated. I've kinda started getting twitter updated but not much. Just a basic bio for now, but either this evening of later tomorrow, I'll be making kind of my first real tweet other than replying to other tweets. So be on the lookout for that. Also currently working on a piece to use price guide sample (and it's looking super cute so far >w<), so there's that as well.
If you sat and read through that wall of text, then you win a box of cookies ;P
Anyways, talk to y'all later~

Tablet finally fixed; Will be away for about a week
General | Posted 8 years agoSo I finally got my broken tablet replaced a few days ago. Which means I'll be able to get back into drawing...though I wouldn't really be able to do much since I'm gonna be away for about a week. I will be returning sometime around the 6th. See you guys then~
Tablet not working :(
General | Posted 8 years agoSo, it'll probably be a little while before I start uploading any new drawing, cause, as luck would have it, my tablet starts acting up. The left side of the display is acting like it's not properly detecting my pen and is jumping the cursor around. It doesn't even reach one end of the tablet! After a few days trying everything that bae and I could think of, the tablet is still not working right. So, I finally contacted the company to see if there's something they could tell me or if I could send it in to get repaired or...just something! Cause I'm out of ideas on how to fix it.
Well, that's a little update for now. For those who would be thinking of commissioning me, as of right now, I can't do any work. So just keep that in mind.
Anyway, I'll talk to you guys later~

Streaming for a while and inactivity
General | Posted 11 years agoWow, I've really neglected coming to this site and posting my stuff here and what not. Well, I'm going to try and be more active now as much as I can. I'll probably have spells of no submissions from time, because of school and work. Taking three art studio classes and two standard classes on top of work tends to keep one busy.
Anyway, I just thought I'd give you guys an update on what's going on.
Also, I'm going to be testing my stream on Tigerdile and draw for a few hours. I hope you come and stop by!~
