I don't know how to start this journal, but it's been a long week and a half or so. I apologize if my writing is all over the place.
The good news is my mom's taking her health seriously and been getting much needed surgeries done as well as other things, so I haven't been too active online due to helping care for her and my sister.

But we took my cat Ramsey to the vet on the 14th to have various tests done to see what was wrong with him due to sudden weight loss & acting strange. We found out he was in end-stage kidney failure and spent over $3k to try and save him with hospitalizations, and everything he needed at home. But he wasn't improving and declined so fast and made the difficult decision to have him put to sleep Thursday night. I've been a mess since then, and actively avoiding being home or in my room. Ramsey was a perfect angel of a cat who did nothing wrong, didn't know what aggression was, never angry, never hurt anyone or anything and overall the most sweetest, gentle, teddy bear of a cat in existence. I always considered him my emotional support and therapy cat. He was worth every penny and I'm just happy I got to have more time with him until the end and wasn't just so sudden like with Monkey.

Finally doing an update. I apologize for disappearing longer than intended. Sadly it's becoming the norm with stuff at home & me being burnt out from everything. This journal might be a bit of a downer so feel free to skim to the bottom about my new PC & art status.
A lot has happened but I will say some good news is my sister has been getting better, but still struggling with pain issues with her legs. But we haven't had any major issues that resulted in being hospitalized. And my mom's health has declining but I'm hoping with the recent doctor visit, we get answers.
I lost one of my aunt's to cancer, my dog Poofie to kidney failure (wild because we found out he had Addison's Disease like Dinkie, sadly it was too late) and a few days ago I lost my favorite old man cat Monkey. He was doing very well after the past few vet visits, but had a severe stroke out of the blue that left him completely paralyzed and was declining. I made the difficult decision to put him to sleep. I've been a mess since. He was 19 years old, and would have been 20 next year. I was so sure his stubborn ass was going to outlive every other pet. I miss the old man so much.

I finally feel well enough to update lol
My sister's health is finally improving after about 5 months of hospital visits and daily Home Health Care nurses, though we did have more ER visits. Nothing severe that needed hospitalization again, so that's a plus.
Sadly, one of my aunts passed away from cancer so I haven't been feeling too social or online much. I've been feeling pretty down and out of the loop.

But good news, my new PC is built and running~ It's so beautiful. I'll post a pic of my set up at some point, I chose a white case this time xD

Hello! I have no idea how to title this journal lmao

It's been a long while since my last journal, and I may have poofed way longer than anticipated and went on a hiatus due to a tremendous amount of stress lol xD

My old man cat Monkey's health was fluctuating from good to worse after the infection cleared up but he started bleeding from the mouth, but it turns out he has teeth problems which lead to the bleeding (that looked like a murder scene & nearly gave me a heart attack lol). He's been doing great since we don't allow him to eat solid food now.

Unfortunately a lot of stuff has been going on at home, and my handicapped sister and my mom's health have been declining. It finally hit the point where my sister was hospitalized for a while recently, and now we have been having nurses & physical therapists coming to our house daily. My sister had a severe infection in her leg that swelled it up really bad and had sepsis, and turns out shes also diabetic with Type 2 diabetes and it's been extremely difficult.
I don't really like to talk much about my family, but I think this was important to mention so when I go and disappear online it will makes more sense as Im the second care taker lol
My sister has been doing better but it's still a long road to recovery as the wounds are taking a while to heal and have been draining almost nonstop. The amount of bandages and all we're going through is nuts xD

EDIT: Just got home from the vet with Monkey and they gave him an antibiotic injection, fluids and oral antibiotics. Surprisingly came out to about $150, which is way less than I expected. And he won't need surgery or to be kept overnight. We're monitoring Monkey right now and hes eating, drinking and seems fine. Thank you to everyone for the support, I appreciate everyone's help more than anything

I'm finally getting over being sick since I've had Covid in December, but I'm reaching out to anyone who can help.

One of my very close friend's has been having a very rough time this month, and then received news that her family's apartment burned down this week.
She recently got her car repossessed after a terrible incident with Uber and a aggressive customer trying to force himself on her and traumatizing her. She reported it to Uber, but had severe anxiety after what happened while working for that company and fell behind on her weekly car payments.

Right now, her car is being held at a towing yard and they want $2500 as of right now, or they will sell her car and she has no way to work or visit her family. Each day the car is at the lot is an additional $45, but my family will try to help with the extra fees.

One of their dogs named Sparticus unfortunately passed away in the fire, and her niece suffered 25% of her body was burned, but I did receive news that she is making a good recovery.

I caught Covid and have been sick the past few weeks, but luckily I'm feeling a bit better before Xmas. I wish my family and I didn't get sick because we are extremely under prepared for the holidays and we're all barely decorating a bit today lmao
But a lil something is better than nothing ;D

A lot of things that happened through the spooky month of October while I was working on the Autumn Ink pieces. Everything is now fine, for the most part. It's a miracle I finished all 31 pieces LOL

My family and I took a massive hit to our finances. I'm sure people are familiar with my "Million Dollar Dog" Dinkie, Mr 'get hit by a car', and has Addison's disease (I call it princess disease lol).
With our luck, he struck again with Hematoma in his ear that inflated like a balloon and filled with blood, and had to have emergency surgery.

We switched from Cone of Shame to Donut of Doom for mobility, our house is tiny as a matchbox and our kneecaps were in danger lol xD

He's doing great now and had stitches removed last night, but on Halloween we ended up having to take our youngest cat Cali to the vet as he became ill out of nowhere.
Cali had a 105.2F fever and lethargic. We managed to get blood work done but couldn't afford everything else the vet wanted to do (which was another estimated $2k with hospitalization, but Dinkie drained us lol) They found he had some type of infection in an unknown location but he had "remarkable" health otherwise, so Vet gave him the liquid pouch thing on his side to re-hydrate him, some antibiotics and luckily he's now back to normal.

I didn't say much before because I didn't THINK it would get this chaotic, but we've been in contact with a rescue trying to do something about this massive feral cat colony and the bagillion kittens. I fostered 5 with my aunt, and they were adopted out (except for 1, but has a medical issue). And AGAIN another batch of 5, but it was 2 at first that were found while they were doing the trap, neuter and release program....then another 3 were found a few days later, and my household was caring for them..unfortunately one of the young kittens died from Fading Kitten Syndrome, and my aunt took the other 2 as Dinkie had to have emergency surgery and it was too much going on around that time.

Now with that new kitten...welp, it's ours for now. My nephew brought it home from school recently saying kids were scaring it, and he took it. It's not part of the feral cat colony so the rescue won't/can't get involved due to it being at capacity, we can't just release it since its too young, shelters can't take in anymore kittens, and no one I know can take in anymore pets.
It might end up our 6th cat, not by choice...but it's a cute lil brat xD We're trying to get it tested soon to make sure it is safe to be around our other pets.

So I plan to sell the Autumn Ink ACEO/card pieces. Not sure where to start for the pricing, or if I should do auction for the cards.

I've been seeing ych.commishes.com around a lot lately. I'm curious on how many people use it, if it's safe and worth the hassle of setting up an account, or if I should just stick with posting on FA & DA for my design auctions. I am a forgetful person as of late, lots of stuff on the mind Lol.

Canceling commissions for an indefinite amount of time. I would like to focus on my mental health more and I have found that I have been basically punishing myself with the thought that I can't enjoy things, go out and do stuff unless I work on art, but I have been feeling very stressed out and anxious and reluctant to do any art, even if it's for myself.
So I think I'll be taking time off from doing owed art with the exception of current pieces I am almost finished with. I apologize for making people wait but I feel like this is the best route for me to get back into doing art regularly, without feeling anxiety and like I need to punish myself for not doing art for people. I'll still be doing random adopts and hopefully more personal &, experimental art, though I might take some time off to focus on myself first. It's not enjoyable to draw anymore and I want it to go back to being fun with just a dash of stress lol.

The events that happened in March and April, the Pandemic shenanigans, financial, work and home stress has finally taken its toll on me lol. And still trying to save to move out of California, but that proving to be near impossible since everything has gotten more expensive...welp lol

I've also been in pain since I've gotten back to work, so I'm sure that's contributing lol

Just doing a lil update since I been on my hiatus.
First I want to say thank you to everyone who commented on my previous journal. I appreciate all of your kind words and support

I am feeling a bit better after everything, and we finally got a decent amount of staffing at work. We're still having issues with staffing, but it's at least bearable now lol.
And slowly but surely, I'm trying to get back into my art groove. Not sure if I'll work on commissions just yet since it's been a hot minute, so I've been working on miscellaneous experimental things such as necklaces, keychains, magnets (didn't go so well lmao) and adopts here and there. Hard to do anything physical due to limited space, but the necklaces/pendants seem to be coming out good.

I also have a VERY ambitious goal in mind. Which means you might see more adopts and maybe even other art for sale.
I am currently looking into moving into a new state within the next few years (hopefully sooner) with my family, and saving up as much money as I can. I'm aiming for $100k towards a house since we're a family of 6, but that feels impossible lol.
It's proving to be very challenging as everything in California is becoming more and more expensive, plus Dinkie's Addison's Disease and his medication & vet visits being costly. so I'm trying to figure out how I can reach my goal. My current living situation is really taking it's toll on my health and I'd like to improve it. A little TMI, but I have been sharing a room with my handicapped sister and nephew, and I'm aiming to move into a better place out of state that's more affordable for me and my family so we can all have our own space.

Not sure if I should share more details since I feel like I've already droned on too much now lol xD

I've been on an unexpected hiatus and I do not know when I'll be able to bounce back and work on art. I've been under a lot of stress the past few months and I haven't been able to work on commissions.

Good news is my sister's cancer is gone, the hysterectomy was a success. I was anxious that it may have spread too much, but they were able to get rid of it.

I mentioned in my last journal that I lost my bearded dragon Acey...I didn't follow with an update, but the following week or so after, my 22 year old cockatiel Tootsie died.

Then after that, our yellow lab Dinkie started to not eat, drink, and became extremely lethargic, skinny and collapsed outside. We went to a few vets trying to figure out what was wrong with Dinkie, and eventually we went to the emergency vet as a last resort and they told us he would have died from dehydration if we didn't take him that night. And the previous vet wouldn't have given us his ""same day"" blood work until the following Monday (we took him there on Friday, all they did was clean his ears and didn't address what we originally took him in for). After about a week and $7k of vet bills, we found out he has Addison Disease. While we were taking Dinkie in, we ended up having to put to one of our old dogs to sleep. It just hasn't been a good few months, and being back to work full time has me very stressed and I'm still readjusting. I'm hoping I bounce back in July around my vacation time, but I don't know for sure if I will, so in the meantime I will be asking commissioners if they would like to cancel their commission or wait. I just don't know how long it'll be until I can properly art again. I have some doodles I can post that I had done a few months ago (Impractical batch WIP), but they're not much.

Regarding work, we've been short-staffed and burning out really quick. Hoping that changes soon. Avenger's Campus just opened up, so the chaos has been real xD

First thing is I'm sure a lot of people heard by now that Disney is planning to lay off cast members, I believe over 28k. I received an email yesterday about it and I might be getting laid off officially. I've been on furlough with medical benefits, but I might be losing it. Kinda super nervous and we won't know who's getting laid off for sure until November or so. I might get lucky, I might not, and unemployment is running low. I can't get another job atm either since my sister is handicapped and her and my mom are both highly susceptible to sicknesses. I'll just be trying to spam more adopts to stay afloat, I guess xD

So far we're calling her Cali, not sure if we'll keep it that, but it's short for Calliope, Calypso or California lol. We got Cali from a family friend who's severely allergic to cats. She said the kitten was most likely dumped and she was meowing at her window at night. They couldn't keep her, and the pound said they would put her to sleep if they brought her there, so....I guess my household is turning into a zoo.
Old man Monkey and Ramsey wants nothing to do with her, Chewie is scared and Ninja seems to be the only cat who doesn't mind her. Dinkie is hella excited xD The other 2 puppers haven't seen her yet.

Not much to update on, since everyone else is quarantined and also out a job. I've been furloughed, but I'm a lucky one as I get my job back once Disneyland reopens. It's not all bad....I mean, being stuck with my family 24 is driving me deep into insanity, but I'm fine other wise LOL
