Hello you beautiful people!
Hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween. Wish I could have done something snazzy to celebrate, but physical and mental health has been a roller coaster.
Halloween also marks the four year anniversary of my starting Patreon and the continued progress of my writing. I am deeply grateful for all of you that stop by, read, and comment on my work. Thank you so much for your support, especially in these past traumatic weeks.
Recovery from the stroke has been going pretty well according to my new doctors. These seven weeks have felt more like a year already but thanks to diet and exercise changes I've been slowly getting things back under control. My blood sugar has gone down to normal healthy levels and we're hoping I can be shifted off depending on insulin with metformin. My limbs have thankfully gotten much stronger again. I can write and type without it being a big struggle. Unfortunitly I still get tired way too easily for my liking.
There's still a long way to go. Could be as long as six months or more until things are fully healed to normal. The sudden drop in temperature is also bringing a lot of discomfort. It really makes the muscles on my bad right side stiffen back up.
In any case I hope to make November a good 'bounce back' kind of month. I want to get back to creating things and entertaining you all. There's also a whole bunch of ideas I've had to put off for pretty much the entirety of this year, such as changing up some tier rewards and new forms of content. But that's a discussion I'd like to have a bit later down the recovery road. For now, let's get back to some good old fashioned TFing!
Thanksgiving is going to be a hell of a time! <3

So I had a Stroke...
Posted 4 years agoHello beautiful people!
To say this hasn't been a good year would be an understatement. On Thursday September 9th I had left the dentist feeling light headed and a bit off balance. Being the complete idiot I am I thought I'd sleep that off and woke a few hours later unable to feel my right side. Only then did it occur to any of us something MIGHT be wrong.
Let this be a lesson to educate yourself on learning to spot signs of true danger. It doesn't help what a joke America makes healthcare. You learn to fear the bill more than your sickness.
So long story short; we rushed to the hospital where I was diagnosed with having a stroke due to a combo of diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. I honestly never suspected I HAD diabetes, and this could have been a ticking time bomb for years now. Thankfully it was just a very small stroke with only a tiny bit of my brain dying. Over 28 tests were done finding no clots or hiding things that might strike me later. Unfortunately the stay took over 5 days with a lot of tech guys running the equipment being off for the weekend. It left me both a physical and emotional wreck where I couldn't even have visitors thanks to covid.
I'm expected to make a full recovery after having a few days back at home and a follow up check in with my new personal care doctor. My right arm and leg have been gaining back their strength but it's a very slow process. I'm working on light exercises to help speed up the process. Also I'm currently on a strict carb and sodium diet, which has left me with quite a headache as my body adjusts to less sugar but also lost 14 pounds already. Mixed blessings!
Due to this Patreon charges will be skipped for October. I still want to create personal works and commissions but it's a slow and energy draining process with my main hand feeling like dead weight, so I probably won't be able to post any offers for the rest of September. I am trying to adjust myself with voice to text dictation in the meantime.
Under the encouragement of friends I also set up a ko-fi in case anyone would still like to support me. I've already spent a good chunk restocking the pantry with diabetic friendly foods, equipment, and insulin. Hopefully the insurance my part time gives me will deduct a decent chunk of the hospital bill.
I'm not in a financially crippled state, so don't worry too much about it! As long as I can get back to work by the start of October I'll manage just fine.
Be safe and I love you all!

Technical difficulties. Please insert coffee!
Posted 4 years agoHey guys. Just a quick update to apologize for my mayternity commissions being behind schedule. The quest for a new home continues to frustrate as another hurdle stalls us for a month and I'm starting to suspect the mortgage rates are getting too high for us in this pandemic.
I still aim to have everyone's story done by May's end in keeping with the theme. Still, very sorry for the delays. I've been very tired. >^.^;<

The April Report. Mayternity YCH Stories coming May 2nd.
Posted 4 years agoHello you fantastic people!
The job hunt for a home has been nothing but a royal pain in my ass, to put it nicely. First I was told anything part-time would be fine, only to be told after getting a job that lenders would only approve if it was full time or I work part time for two years. Working for Fred Meyer's turned out to be awful anyway. The store is constantly understaffed and overworking whoever they get left. Most of the four weeks I was there we had to close early because there were literally no closers. XD
So that was waste of time done, with a decent paycheck at least. I picked up a new job starting Monday that'll be a lot less stressful and with Full-time status. Hopefully this means May will see the end of this business and we can finally move somewhere in Everett by June or July.
And now Mayternity news!!
I keep it no secret I'm a huge fan of pregnancy themed adventures, so Mayternity is totally my jam. XD
As I'm finishing up the only commission I have left, and have a good grasp of my work schedule for the foreseeable future I feel safe in doing a bit of celebrating. The extra rent money will definitely help.
To this end I'm going to be opening a set of YCH story slots on May 2nd at 12pm PST!
However, I've decided to try a different system instead of an auction. These stories will all be at a flat price, but with additional scenes you can purchase to extend the story. I'm horribly bad at containing my word count to a specific threshold, so this feels like it might be a fun way to provide bonuses to those that wish to pay more.
These slots will be first come first served, hence the notice.
More details on that when it'll be posted.
Stay safe, and stay away from the irradiate milk in my fridge!

Update: Not accepting new coms for now
Posted 4 years agoDue to circumstances beyond my control, I've had to rescind my desire to open up for new commissions starting this month. I'm finishing my last two in-progress on the backlog and that will pretty much be it. Only exceptions will the long standing projects with a few amazing people. Any other work will either be personal or gifts, usually both because I prefer making stuff for others than writing about my own characters. XD;
I'm really sorry to bring this news to all the people I've been saying I'll open up soon and those that have been waiting patiently.
The short of it is that last month my roommate brought down the decision to move very suddenly on Jason and I. I've especially been running with a lot of stress as the de-facto person to shop for said house. Unfortunitly, because the housing market is insane, I need to get at least a part-time job to qualify for co-signing the loan. Working freelance just isn't enough to impress the lenders.
Since I have no idea how this will effect my capacity to write, at least for the first half of this year, I'd rather not bring this stone on my back on top of everything else. Patreon should still get regular content updates in the meantime. Again I'm really sorry and hope to start taking your ideas again ASAP.

So I'm moving
Posted 5 years agoHouses! Not like accounts or platforms or anything. I probably should have lead with that. >.>;
But yeah, I was planning to make a big post about ideas and plans for how I want to take my writing business into 2021 until a major curve ball hit us. The landlord decided he's going to be selling our apartments in the spring, which means a major rent hike to make it look 'profitable' in this crazy pandemic. That pushed my roommate a bit and we've decided if we're going to pay that much we might as well be doing it as payment for a house closer to his workplace. It's kind of insane the rent for a 2 bedroom apartment can rival a mortgage but that's how it goes.
So end of the month has gotten a bit busy gathering boxes and looking through listings. I'll be talking to a realtor tomorrow to start the house hunting process. It's been both exciting and stressful. The three of us haven't moved in a loooong time.
More to come as the situations develop. Stay safe everyone!

Oh crap! Birthday in a week.
Posted 5 years agoIt's always been funny how many people I've known with birthdays in Janurary. XD;;
Aywho I turn a year older on the 14th. Not sure if we'll even do anything but at least we're still surviving!
Much love all! Updates soon.

August ate my soul. Sorry for delays.
Posted 5 years agoHey gang! I tend to keep falling off of FA despite my desire to try more frequent postings and interactions to attract a wider audience. Sorry about that.
Early in August, about 3 weeks ago, I received the unfortunate news that my mom passed away. She had just gotten out of an intensive surgery and contracted COVID while recovering in rehab. I feel into a bit of a depression that I'm climbing out of to move on with work.
I apologize to everyone waiting on their commissions. This month I have every desire to make sure everyone on the list gets done. Halloween is coming up and I would love to try another round of werewolf themed YCH's to celebrate it.
In the mean time, stay safe. Tell the important people you love them before its too late. Anything can happen in this crazy world.

Mid-June Updates
Posted 5 years agoHey guys!
Hope everyone is okay and safe in these tense times. Thanks to a bit of life choices including turning a spare storage space into an office and routine exercise, I've slowly been able to bounce back into a semi-stable writing mode again. Commissions are being worked through asap and I'm sorry for making everyone wait. Need to earn those pesky rent moneys. >.<
Running through June now, here's a quick run down of what's been on my mind.
COYA TWINE games
I looooove choose your own adventure games as they were one of the first kinds of books I was introduced to in grade school. Ever since recent ones like the Pirates Fate have come out I think a lot of my fellow writers have been equally inspired by what the medium can do. My friend Paulrevere has generously allowed me use of his Karen character for an experimental first try. It should make for a fun adventure with tons of TF content to discover. I hope to start the Alpha draft by the end of the month.
Currently I'm not sure which tier on the patreon to put this under. The alpha's might be released for everyone, but the more completed version could go behind the $5 tier. I'm always torn between not wanting to paywall too much, but also wanting to give back more for the support. What do you guys think would be the best course?
#werewednesday
I've been inspired by my roommate recently with them drawing something (almost) weekly for the them #tfteusday. Me? I'm thinking something more focused like lycanthropes. Not just werewolves, but just about anything; werecats, werepandas, even the dreaded werecar. They'll just be super short TF vignettes as a bit of extra content. Might leave these up in the $10 tier as everyone there will also have the option to pitch ideas and volunteer characters for each week too.
Book Work
Chapter two of Adventures in this Wide World (formally Nice to Seat You) will be starting soon. I apologies for the pause in it's updates as I wanted to put a bit more care in planning things out. Writing a romance comedy has been a nice break for my muse between all the TF shenanigans. I hope everyone else is enjoying big elephants.
Also, I'm looking to start compiling older works into anthologies for individual sales. I'm curious if anyone can recommend online shops? Amazon is...it exists, but it's good to check other options.
Patreon Taxes
A bit late to the party, sorry, but yeah. Patreon has made it known starting July that all pledges may be subject by law to a sales tax. By the sounds of things most of my content will probably not be effected, with the worst ringing about .10-.20 cents at the most.
Subscribestar
At the suggestions and warnings of friends because of Patreon's vague community guidelines I've been slowly setting up a Subscribestar to act as a mirror. This isn't going to be a migration unless the worst happens, but all posts from July onward will also be uploaded there so everyone can pick which place to get their TF fix.
And that's about it. Keep spreading the love and peace everyone. I love you all. ^.^

quarantine updates, current commission list
Posted 5 years agoHello wonderful people!
Blargh! I really need to stop going silent for such long periods of time. It's a bad introvert habit that keeps coming back. >^.^;<
Home life has been...manageable. Washington has been hit pretty hard by COVID but thankfully we've all been staying inside as much as possible. Nothing dangerous health-wise yet. Roommate lost his job at Boeing though and unemployment is fighting him every step. Luckily other roommates student loans have been suspended for now. Wish we can say the same for rent and utilities, but we got nest eggs to hold out for a while.
Writing wise I've been in a heavily slump since late last month. Working at home has not been something I'm used to with coffee shops and the library generating a more work motivated environment, but money needs to be made! I will get over this hurdle and back to delivering the many TF stories you all come to see soon.
Thanks you, everyone for your patience and putting up with my sporadic progress. Times are tough on all of us and any support means the world to us. <3
And now, here's a quick run down of my current client list. I hope to get through these as fast as possible after dragging my heels for so long.

I hope everyone had a happy Halloween. The YCH's were a rousing success! Lots of fluffy werewolf's were had and I learned a lot from them to help me do better for next time. Thank you everyone for your continued interest in my work.
Now I need to earn my Thanksgiving Dinner so it's back to some normal commissions.
Form and Terms can be found here: https://forms.gle/tm3YARBLkehd2gwWA
Current Special: Anything related to Kobolds; sexy, evil, TFs, non-tf, just give me chibi-dragon folk!
These are not first come, first served. I want to try doing these in a more limited run of 3-5 slots (depending on the story lengths asked) so everyone gets a faster turn around. Form will be left open for about 24 hours and then I will select the projects from there.
Any questions or inquires, feel free to ask. :3

September was an unexpected revelation.
Posted 6 years agoEver since I took to doing writing full time earlier this year I've been angrily struggling with my rate of production. No matter what I tried to do I'd find myself lucky if I managed to squeeze out 1000 words a day. It felt like I was failing in a way. Then about a week ago on a whim, I decided to go back to the old deli and chill in their cafe lounge.
Next thing I know I've written 6000 words and finished two commissions.
So yeah, I found out my primary problem was distractions. Maybe it stems from working customer service all my life, but it's hard as balls to work when I'm at home. It's like my mind associates it with the end of my workplace; jobs over, you got your sanctuary to chill out in until you need to leave again.
I've been returning regularly to the cafe since, taking days off of course, to surprising results. I reached and surpassed my goal of a 30K word month and ended on about 36K, being the last week and all it still makes a personal best. I hope to double that count continuing this through October. It's like that rush when Goku 'surpasses his limits' into the next redundant super saiyan. XD
Hope everyone's doing well and eager for some spooky Halloweens. I know I am! <3

I'm a bit slow. Please forgive me.
Posted 6 years agoHey all!
One thing I've learned over this summer is that finding that perfect balance between working and personal health is harder than I could have ever thought. Through June it became a bad habit for me to stay up writing as late as 4 am, and even forgot to eat on a few occasions. July was a bigger improvement with a lot less late-night binges and a 20-day writing streak. I hope to break that record in this coming August. :3
Commissions and owed work will be my near-complete focus this month. Admittedly in the rush of having a good amount of work to make bills, I accepted a lot more than I probably should have in one go. I'm really sorry for the long wait and hope to make everything worth everyone's time.
Stay cool as the world melts, everyone. It's the perfect weather for mermaid TF's.

May progress, Patreon updates and Story Commissions open!
Posted 6 years agoHeya FA! May has proven to be a very productive month despite all the eggs and kids Mayternity tends to bring me. :B
I've managed to clear out a good chunk of backlog, so wanted to open up my form for some more story commissions.
Forms will be open until Monday and then I'll be picking 3 or 4 to juggle with the rest of my owed stuff for June. Unless the turn out is low, then I might take everyone's. X3
https://forms.gle/9gwLhmbsUoDoEE9CA
Also, I've made some soft updates to my Patreon. All three tiers have had addition perks added to them and we now have a Discord channel for everyone to hang out in. All details can be found in this post here:

Questions and feedback always welcome! Thank you all for the continued interest in my work. >^.^<

April updates, future plans

Hello you wonderful readers!
I hope spring is treating you all well. Washington weather continues to flop between a warm sun or cold rain.
Sorry, I posted some stories a day late for the month. April has been a series of drastic changes for me, and not involving paws sadly. To abridge things; I've finally left my frustrating job. The work itself was never that hard, but the people's general contempt has worn down my physical and mental health since November of last year. My writing productivity suffered the worst from this, which left me even angrier.
Of course, this means now I'm free to put my efforts back into entertaining you guys! May is going to be the start of slowly implementing ideas I've had since starting Patreon.
For now, I'm still in a bit of a 'catch-up' mode from April. I need to work out owed stuff to some very patient clients, and also sorting out deals with friends for some more long-term projects. Once that's been cleared up commissions will open with a vengeance. I'll probably be starting small with 3-5 slot batches, but those should finish a lot quicker now that they're going to be my primary source of income.
Patreon wise we'll be seeing a reorganizing of goals, some new perks to add substance to my tiers, and hopefully some new art for the front page.
I've also been considering for a while now about starting a discord server for patrons and fans. It's usually the best way to contact me and keep track of various things, like some aforementioned perks, so I'd find it handy. Is that a thing you guys would like added?
In any case, this turn of events has left me nervous and excited for the future. Thank you all for everything as I continue to grow and learn. I never would have gotten this far without you.

My daughter is being evicted
Posted 7 years agoMy longtime friend and adopted daughter
blueberrysnow and her husband have suffered the curse of the horrible roommate and is left to deal with their mess. They need money to move into a new place by the 31st and possibly more to cover a flaky asshats debt.
If anyone would like to help, even a few bucks would be amazing.

Story coms closed & state of Crimson Knight
Posted 7 years agoGood morning! Thank you everyone for your interest in my writing work. >^.^<
It's a few weeks early but I feel it best to close up shop for a while and work on hammering out all the wonderful ideas I've been asked for so far. My day job has gotten so short staffed to the point I'm busting overtime the past couple of weeks. I can really only write between shifts and on breaks so it's slowed me down a lot more than originally planned.
And I've gotten a lot of comments about Crimson Knight lately; I am terribly sorry for another hiatus. This one is totally on me since Jason has no script yet to work on. We are really only two or three pages away from starting Chapter 3 and that's become a bit of a block for me. There's a lot of world building going into this next part and I want to make it as appealing as possible without falling into several 'talking head' segments. Things are coming together slowly so I hope we can resume updates before much longer.
Keep being wonderful, furries of the world!

Open story commissions for spring (Mar 1st - May 31st)
Posted 7 years agoPhew! Okay! So some important RL stuff first; half the crew of my store quit in one fell swoop, with the corporation we work putting a hard freeze on new hires for three weeks after. Fingers and paws crossed they get some much needed help come Tuesday when the ban lifts for interviews. I am a bit exhausted and a little frustrated getting pulled around in between short bouts of sleep. Mostly frustrating cause I'd rather be writing for you fine people.
That being said...
THE FLOOR IS OPEN FOR NEW STORY COMMISSIONS
General rules, prices, and ToS can be found here: https://www.furaffinity.net/commiss.....esmondfallout/
BUT PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
Because of my limited time at the moment, I am going to try things a little differently. These are not first-come first-served, nor am I making a list.
To sign up; simply respond to this journal or send a note with the form below. I will get in contact with ideas I pick for payment and details. Hopefully I can get as many served as I can over the course of this spring.
Please keep in mind I am only interested in SHORT stories right now. Going to try for a soft cap of 7000 words so I can keep turnaround at a fairly decent rate.
No limit on ideas either. Post as many as you like, whenever you like.

Story commissions opening soon(ish)
Posted 8 years agoHey guys and gals and scalies! Thanks so much for the continued interest and support in my silly stories and commission ideas. Just wanted to post a quick update cause I told a lot of people I might be opening up for fresh story jobs at the end of January.
While I have managed to write over a whopping 35,000 words worth of stuff this month, I still have a backlog keeping me from feeling comfortable moving forward yet. Fortunately I'm down to the last 3 non-Patreon related work and they're all pretty short stories. I just want to get as clean a plate as possible before piling on fresh meat to tear into.
Hopefully in another week or two, provided my day job doesn't try beating me down for spring. Have a great February everyone! <3

Mutant hits 35 years
Posted 8 years agoHey! It's my birthday tomorrow. Weeeee! ^.^
35 years old is just...wow. And the majority of those have been spent in the furry fandom, since Yerf still existed. Does that make me a grey muzzle yet?
Saddly couldn't make FurCon this year. Too much debt to pay off that I might not try a con for a year or two in general.
Probably just going to spend the day goofing with
robertge and write some more. Be sure to give him lotsa hugs cause his birthday is this month too. X3
