Where am I? ... What year is it?
Posted 11 years agoHi, everyone!
I'm alive! Yay! I ran into this place by accident, and realized I had truly dropped off the face of the earth. I guess it happens. Well, to all of my old friends: I'm really really sorry! I'm terrible at keeping up, it seems.
So here's what's up:
I'm married, and living in Orange County California (that's just south of LA, for those of you who don't know). I work for a contract research company, and my husband (Yes, the one I was engaged to so many years ago) works for Blizzard entertainment. Our baby turned one year old in June.
Life is amazing as always. I just recently started drawing again, but not really furry art. I'm kinda rusty. Most of my art can be found in my DA page: http://yamipea.deviantart.com/
I am a lot more active there socially, however! I check that more than my email. Heh heh.
Even though I'm not active in the furry community, nor do I attend conventions, I still remember all of those times, and all of my friends fondly. Truly it was the best time ever (second only to becoming mom!)
Much Love,
Yami

I'm Getting Married!
Posted 18 years agoWell, it was bound to happen sooner or later.
Mateo and I have been struggling to spend our lives together, but since we're both "dirty foreigners" and he had college to finish, we ended up having an long-distance relationship since, what- 1998?
I think that's long enough.
I mean, he spent a LOT of time with me, sometimes six months out of the year, sometimes only three for vacation.. But never once did we falter.
He should come home for the last time at the beginning of March, and we are going to the court house around the 21st.
I can't wait!
PS, not officially "back" to FA yet. Still taking a break!

Oh... My... God....
Posted 18 years agoHow many times have you heard, "people are stupid"? That doesn't even begin to cover it, really.
What's funny, is that 99.9% of people are NOT malicious, or idiots, or even a little mean. But that 0.01% is all it takes to destroy my faith.
Some people make it their business to look about for someone to offend. I am the proverbial flame to the mean-spirited, moth. Why? Because I take offense!
I don't know why I feel that people should give me the same respect online that I receive in real life. That's not going to happen, and it's very unrealistic of me to set those standards, but I'll be damned if I ever change them! >_<
I'm a sensitive person. In part, it's because I'm female (I recognize the many short-comings of my gender), and in part it's just me. Now, I'm not saying that this makes it right. I wish I were a little more callous and less likely to take offense at the slightest little thing. But hey, you know what? That's me!
Because I am this way-- because I RECOGNIZE that I am this way, I see fit to post warnings. "HEY! Don't say mean things! Don't give advise! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be considerate!"
...I wonder why more people aren't killed because they saw a sign that warned them not to do something, and they decided to do it anyway. "WRONG WAY!" Hey, that looks like a great place to drive!

I want to do thaaaat!
Posted 18 years agoI like the cute little icons where the picture is animated. Is it an animated GIF? I'm guessing so!
Can anyone recommend a program that would allow me to do that too? Preferrably a free program, cause I'm just experimenting.
Any help is appreciated!

Posted 18 years agoI hate growing older. It seems like you're just wasting your life working. I can't wait to go visit Brasil this December. I may just be inspired to stay...
Introduction to the Yami
Posted 19 years agoBlah blah blah. I just turned thirty not too long ago (and this post is probably going to remain un-updated until I'm forty. Heeeeh.
I was born in Peru, raised in Brasil. So you can imagine I speak more than one language.
I'm engaged happily to THE most incredibly sexy, green-eyed tiger on the face of this planet. Lucky!!!! Anywaaaay. Life is good. I can't really think of anything to complain about. Job, house, car, income, talent, brains, family, love, life...
We only have what we deserve to have. If you don't have it, then you haven't earned it, and that includes happiness. Don't expect things to be put on your lap. Have a bright outlook on life. If you stare only into shadows, you're going to end up walking into them, too. Keep an open mind, but have strength in your convictions.
Welp, there's a lot more to me than this post, but the rest remains for me to know and for you to find out-- maybe. ^_-
