Posted 10 years agoI had an awesome time! Got to not see people that I haven't seen in a while, didn't go to some sweet parties, and best of all.......oh, I just made myself sad :(
Just kidding :-P
Really wish I could have gone, but was off doing super secret military things (not really). Went into Boise with a few buddies from tech school and just chilled on base and got to relax a bit after that long ass drive (will probably post a few pics from my journey). Maybe one of these days I will meet some of the furs around here. I mean, come on, there has got to be at least a few hiding in the vast potato fields of Idaho.
Anyway, can't wait till I can actually attend another con. Probably next year. I really want to go to Furpoc next year, this was the first year I missed FF/FP since I started going back in 2011 >.<Furpocalypse Meme!!!

Straight Outta Basic and Almost Done With Tech School
Posted 10 years agoIt has been a while since my last update. I know most people don't read this crap unless "FREE RAFFLE" is in the title or porn is somehow involved, but there are a few of you out there that actually like to socialize and be normal without giant throbbing horse cocks (that are free obviously....because FREEEEE!!!!!).
Anyway, as it really isn't news anymore since everyone knows, I still feel like I should announce it here. July 31st, the day I graduated BMT I got on my knee (no, not that way you sick pervert) and proposed to the most beautiful and amazing person in my life 
. Sometime next year (Fall?) we will be getting married, but until then it will be a long road for both of us. I am 6 weeks into tech school and almost finished. After that I will be moving to Whiteman AFB in Missouri ....maybe. I say maybe because there is a lot of issues with paperwork and extra clearances I need to do which may delay my departure to the first duty station or possibly send me to another base (which depending on the base wouldn't be too big of a deal). At this point I am just wishing things would just go smoothly so I can make sure I get sent out of here on time.
I'm planning to head to CT for a few days after graduation to see my soon to be waifu, then after that heading down to NC for RAP (recruiters assistance program....12 free days of leave) to see parents and sort my belonging to bring to my base.
Aside from that everything has been pretty good here in tech school. Been destroying all the tests (97 average) and only 2 more left (one tomorrow). After that just focusing on out-processing and getting out of here.IM BACK!!!!!

Posted 10 years agoSo this week marks my last week in the [sarcasm]wonderful[/sarcasm] state of CT. Saturday, May 2nd I will be loading up my car and traveling by the cover of night down to the wonderful (not sarcasm by the way) state of North Carolina! When I reach NC soil it will also be marking my last month of being a civilian before shipping off to Air Force BMT on June 9th to begin a career serving my country.
During my last week as a CT fur I will be attending the Beardsley Zoo meet in Bridgeport (which happens tomorrow.....or today technically) and possibly attending 1 more diner meet on May 1st. The April diner meet was supposed to be my last but it seems things will work out where I may make the May one.
Also in other news, today marks 4 years with my loving kitty <3 <3. Like all relationshipos we have had our ups and downs, but I would not trade these past 4 years for anything. Being away from my kitty from when I move down to being in BMT and tech school will be difficult, but we will make it work, and if I can't get stationed in NC to be closer to her when she eventually moves down, I know we will still be close no matter how far the USAF decides to station me.
To many more years baby <3

Quit My Job (and other things)
Posted 10 years agoThe day finally came (thank god) where I could box up my uniform and leave my job. In fact, I actually did something at my job not many people are able to do, put in my 2 weeks and actually work the whole 2 weeks without rage quitting on an auction day. That just goes to show you how bad of a place it is when 95% of employees never give 2 weeks, and the ones that do can never stand the place for the last 2 weeks. I will say one thing though that is positive about the work place, and that is aside from my boss (who was not mean, but was just extremely lazy and would throw you under the bus to save his own ass), my co-workers were a great bunch to work with. When I finally left, I texted my boss and all I got back was a "good luck", not even a thank you or anything. But, I am glad to finally have some time to myself.
With my ship date drawing closer I have been trying to get some things sorted out. I have been going through my storage unit and getting rid of crap that I really do not need anymore to make the move down to North Carolina easier. Since it seems no company will rent a van out of state (I have checked U-Haul, Enterprise, Budget, etc), or if they do it will cost ~$1000, everything must go down in my car. Thankfully my parents are up in CT this week so they can take down some stuff (and the biggest thing, my snow tires, my uncle will be taking down when he goes hunting, so I don't have to worry about transporting them since they take up my whole back seat).
As of now my plans are still the same. I will be living in South Windsor w/ 
until the middle of April, which should give me enough time to sort out my storage unit and get things ready to transport/ship down south. When I move out I will be moving in with my mate for the duration of April. End of April/beginning of May I will be moving down to North Carolina to spend time with my family (Taru will be joining me for about a week to help with the move, but she will not be moving down permanently yet, pending any job offers she gets). After talking with my dad I have found out he has some work for me while I am down there to keep me busy and put a little money in my pocket, which is good so that I wont slowly go broke before I ship off.
As for meets, I will be attending my last diner meet in April (this Friday) to say goodbye to people and just chill with people I haven't seen in a while. I will also be bringing my MTG cards to play a little with anyone who is there :3
I will also be going to the Beardsley Zoo meet at the end of April, and that will be the last CT meet I will be attending. If you want to hang out those 2 meets will be the last chance. I would love to see everyone and hang out more, but with packing and everything I do not think I will be able to get much free time aside from those two times.
I would like to maybe attend a meet or two in NC during the month I will be down there, but again, family takes priority since I will be gone for 4 months for BMT & tech school before I get a chance to see my parents again.
However, during the time before BMT and while I am at tech school I will still be free to chat on FA/FB/Skype/XBLive.

Air Force BMT Ship Date & Job Assignment
Posted 10 years agoGot my job assignment and ship date today for the Air Force. I will be leaving June 9th to go to Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX for BMT. Following BMT I will be sent to Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, TX for training as a 2W031 (Munitions Systems Specialist).
I have a long road ahead of me. Not only BMT and tech school, but everything leading up to it as well. So much to pack, things to throw away, people to see, and family/mate to spend time with. I am lucky to have the support of so many people; my parents, siblings, friends, and my mate .
While I am dealing with the stress of basic and tech school, my mate will be dealing with a different kind of stress; the stress of being in a relationship with an Airman. Training, distance, deployments, and work will all be hurtles we will have to deal with as we approach them. While I will try my hardest to get stationed along the eastern seaboard, there are no guarantees, as Air Force needs > my own needs. Many may thank me along the way for serving my country, tell me how brave it is, but really the one that deserves recognition is my family and my mate, for putting up with me and being there for me as I go on my journey to become a better, stronger person. No matter where I go, be it the east coast, west coast, Europe, Asia, wherever, I will always care deeply about the ones I hold close to my heart. Posted 11 years agoThis will be a short journal, don't feel like typing much right now since I am doing a lot at the moment (seems I like to wait to do laundry until I have 2 full loads......uuuuhhhhhh the folding >.<)
Anyway, not too much has happened since my last journal. MEPS went well and I signed/swore into the Air Force DEP (yay!). Although saying it went well would be a bit of a lie. I mean, the outcome was good (I am healthy), but the process itself SUUUUUUUUUCKED. To anyone that has ever done MEPS or will be doing it in the future I am so sorry.
Things started well, got to the hotel on a Monday afternoon. Checked in to the hotel and relaxed for a bit. After watching some TV went to grab dinner (which was free ^_^). Went back to the room and watched some more TV then attempted to go to sleep at 11:00pm. I say attempted because I did not get ANY sleep that night. I mostly just laid down in be staring at the clock and the ceiling before finally just grabbing my phone around 2:00am and browsing the internet. We had to get up at 4:00am anyway so whatever. Showered, had breakfast (free again) then funneled onto the bus to the MEPS center. To keep things short I was there from about 5:45am-3:00pm. It was a lot of hurry up an wait. The DMV is more fun than MEPS, no joke.
While at MEPS I got my jobs list of what I am qualified for based on physical and ASVAB score. I was REALLY hoping for Intel to be on that list since my ASVAB score was more than high enough, but I guess something in my physical said otherwise :( Anyway, a few days later I met with my recruiter and gave him my top 10 list of jobs. There were still some jobs that interested me, so I wasn't too bummed. My top 10 is below, if any of you know anyone in these fields I would appreciate if you could get me in contact with them. Aside from what I have read online and in forums it would be nice to hear firsthand how someone liked/disliked a job.

Anyway enough of that, onto other things.
A few weeks ago my car started to sound like an Autozone special. The exhaust was quite loud, and although the VR6 is a nice sounding engine, it was getting to be much. Thankfully it was just the midpipe, so I brought it to a shop and got a new one welded in. Next came the battery. I started to play roulette with my car every time I turned the key hoping it would start. Finally got around to getting a new battery and putting it in. I would say not bad though for close to 7 years owning the car. I have never had to replace the battery before. While I was putting the battery in the car today I decided to track down a tiny coolant leak I have been having for the past few months. Removed my bumper and jacked the car up to find out the lower radiator hose was leaking every so slightly, and the drivers side of the radiator had a tiny leak as well. Thankfully neither of the leaks are substantial enough that they need immediate attention, but they will get taken care of soon (as well as a much needed passenger side ball joint).
Now, ONWARD TO XBAWKS!!!
Or more-so the boredom. With Rockstars failure to make good on their promises of Heists I have really contemplated just giving up on the game. Online is becoming boring and although the content packs are nice, there is no way to actually make a decent amount of money to buy what they offer. I have started playing Titanfall again but really with I had friends that played since the main reason I play online games is to play with friends. No matter how good a game is, it still can get boring playing by yourself. Some friends and I have started doing Battlefield 3 again and some Halo Reach (since its free this month), but I really need to find something new to occupy my time.

Life Update
Posted 11 years agoI realized I almost never post any new journals, so thought it was about time.
So where to start? Well I am still at my shitastic job working security. As people come and go, I find myself still stuck here with no chance of further advancement from where I already am. The good news is that all us supervisors got a $1/hr raise, though I still don't think it is enough for the kind of shit we have to deal with. It also looks as if the company did it as a way to quiet us. In the recent months many of us have been fighting for a raise, supervisors and those below us. In fact we had a bit of an uprising during the last quarterly meeting where we all verbally assaulted the regional manager of the company, as well as his boss about working conditions and pay. When they finally gave supervisors a raise there was 1 stipulation: we could not mention it to ANYONE else in the company. So you can see why I believe it was just a way to shut us up. Give a few of us raises so we will be quiet about it and stop fighting for everyone else.
As for job prospects for me? Still filling out applications on a weekly basis. I took the TSA test about a week ago and passed (no score, just told me I passed). Waiting for that to progress, though it all depends on the hours offered. Since TSA only hires part-time, I can only make the equivalent pay if I get ~30hrs/wk (from what I read online starting is about 25hrs/week which is not enough unless they pay like $17/hr). This weekend I will be taking the corrections test for the CT Department of Corrections. While correctional officer is not my number 1 choice, I will take anything I get get, even if it means working behind bars with the best society has.
Lastly, as some of you may know, during all this I have been in the process of enlisting in the United States Air Force. I have filled out a ass-load of paperwork and have taken the ASVAB (passed with very high scores). In fact, my scores qualify me for any job I want (pending physical evaluation). As well, with my Bachelors degree I get a rank bump up to E3 (Airman First Class). I am looking to do intelligence in the Air Force, and from what I have found out, with it being hard to keep people in the intel field due to high payouts as civilian contractors (which causes many people in the intel field to leave after 4 years and make bank after they get out) my chances of landing an intel job are pretty high. My initial thoughts were Security Forces, but after researching and finding out about their extremely high deployment rates I have decided against that. I am trying to think about not only my future, but my future with my lovely mate . I have discussed this thoroughly with her, and we have come to an understanding about it. We both understand that where we both are currently (in relation to careers) there isn't much of a future. I hate being unable to really save any money while at the same time loathing work day after day (as Taru does with her job too). With the Air Force I am hoping to create a future for the both of us, save up money, and gain skill/experience that will catapult me into the job market when I get out. While I realize nothing is a guarantee (the amount of jobless vets), it seems intel does have a good base for getting me somewhere after I am out.
That leads my to my last point. In 2 weeks I will be heading to MEPS. This is where I will be getting my physical and finding out if I am eligible for enlistment. If all goes well I will be joining the DEP (Delayed Entry/Enlistment Program) with an earliest ship date of January 2015. This will give me time to quit my job in a glorious manner just before Furpocalypse, get my affairs in order, and spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with family (it has been 2 years since I have spent the holidays with family since they moved down to NC).
However, if something does pan out between now and then (e.g. getting hired as a correctional officer) than plans will change and I will be dropping the USAF (I don't sign away my life until just before I ship to BMT).Sewing Machines (Suit makers chime in please)
Posted 12 years agoSo I want to try and start making tails. I have A LOT of free time when not working and feel it would be best filled with an activity that could make me a little extra spending money. I attempted drawing (as you can see in my gallery) but honestly I am not creative enough to really go much further. There is one problem I have......I know nothing of sewing machines (and I am not the best at hand sewing).
I am thinking of looking for a used machine on craigslist since I can probably find something higher end for the price of what a new low end machine would be (albeit a bit older), but I am not sure what to look for. Number of stitch patterns? Types of stitches? Bobbins? Needles? So many words I have no idea what they mean!!!! So what should I look for?
I have seen/been told to look for an older metal machine, but that doesn't help me too much. How old? How metal? I don't know if Dethklok makes sewing machines, but I would think they would be pretty metal.

Got off work @ 2pm (after 16 hrs X_X) and picked up from campus to check in at the hotel. Brought stuff to the room and helped 
bring in her stuff. Then promptly left to go sleep and wake up for work again @ 11pm >.<
Thursday
Got off work in the morning and got back to the hotel (snagging myself a spot right in front) to find
sleeping with mah woman, proceeded to stab him and dispose of body . Took some NyQuil (fffffff bring sick just before Furfright, TAKE ALL THE DRUGS!!!) and passed out. Woke up and met up with Clem & Taru. Wandered around a bit sayin hi to people. Found their table in the dealers room and then went to Walmart to pick up necessities and print stuff with Clem and Taru (put a barricade in front of my space to save it). Bought so many snacks, things to make drinks, other random crap, then got back to the hotel (no one took my spot ^_^). Realized we forgot to print what Clem needed.....which was one of the main reasons we went to Walmart to being in -.-. Snuck to the front of the Pre-reg line to grab my badge (mmmm dealer badge) and did some other things. Made plans to do sushi that night but by the time everyone was ready to go I had to get ready for work again (though they ended up going to Chili's instead). Put the barricade in front of my parking spot again (hell if I was going to lose such a prime spot)
Friday
Come back from work (parking spot still there YAY!!), NyQuil. Woke up and went to help Clem and Taru set up and get ready to sell shit. Spent a lot of time running back and forth from the room to the table (women, they can never remember everything the first time :-P). Clem needed business cards, which she sent into Staples the night before, so we left to go pick them up as well as print what she forgot to while at walmart, and grab some wire storage cubes to make the table look better (should have thought of this before). Did some other things. Called out of work (the person who was supposed to cover for me, that said they would a month ago, backed out). Received a call hours later from work saying I still had to come in (despite being sick).....bullshit. I REALLY wanted to drink, but now I couldn't. Saw a lot of friends, don't be mad at me for not tagging you all since I don't know everyones FA off the top of my head. Left for work.
Saturday
Got back from work, slept for like 3 hours then started my day. Saw a lot of people including
& 
. Helped some more at the table. Participated in the fursuit parade dressed as Taru (though I sucked at acting as her....I can't do justice to her character). Had my hookah panel, which had a larger turnout than I expected. Like....WOW O______O I honestly did not expect sooooo many people to show up. What made it worse was I was not fully prepared for it (kinda rambled a bit....and if you went you could probably tell I am not the best public speaker). It did seem like people enjoyed it though, it even went over its scheduled time (scheduled for 30 min, lasted over an hour). After I did the hookah raffle at the end everyone congregated out front with their hookahs (6-7 set up at once) and I spend a few hours out there smoking and drinking. After cleaning up went to the room with Taru and 
to do some buttery nipple shots, then Taru kicked Vain out of the room so [CENSORED].
Sunday
Finished helping at the table. Went to the charity room to see if I won any of the box prizes (Walking Dead minifig and War Dogs Statue ^_^). Stopped by the auction for a bit before heading back to the dealers room and helping everyone clean up. Then came the closing ceremonies.........I didn't cry, I didn't cry, I didn't......OK I CRIED!!!! Congrats to Kat and JT!!!!! Sushi to celebrate that night! Also, the toothpicks XD. Did some drinking, went swimming. Then hung out talkin with some people while Taru and Clem played CAH. Back to the room to sleep.
Monday
Woke up and kinda hobbled out of bed, not wanting to get up and do things. Stole a luggage dolly and made soooooo many trips back and forth from the room to the car. Said goodbye to people. Checked out and went to Ted's down the road for some steamed burgers (eh, they were pretty good) with Kat, JT, Teddy &
. Said our goodbyes and left home to pass out.

The daily commute from New Britain to East Windsor for work is taking its toll on my car and wallet (25 miles one way), so would like to find a place closer. As well, my mate will be graduating this semester and we are looking to get out of her mothers apt, while staying within reach of the Hartford bus lines (so she can utilize it for work until she is able to get a car).
I am very neat, quiet, mature, don't use drugs or heavily drink. I work 40/hrs a week so no fear of me not paying my share of the rent. Also would like to find a place/roommate who is 2nd Amendment friendly as I do own a few firearms (I am licensed and as responsible as one could be).
The sooner the better, so if you (or someone you know) has an apartment and is looking for a roommate(s) to split rent, or are looking to get out of where you currently are, PLEASE note me.
Also, spread this around if you know anyone.

Posted 12 years agoI'm glad FA is going down for a bit (maybe it will be down for a whole week). All the neckbeards and basement dwellers can go outside and discover what this magical floating ball of fire in the sky we call the "sun" is.
Seriously, is everyone so damn attached to FA that when it's going down for 1-2 days they freak out and are like "OMG HERE IS MY CONTACT INFO (THROWS BUSINESS CARDS AT PEOPLE)!!!!". Get a life people.
You want my contact info? Well if you already have it then you are the only people that should be contacting me. If you don't already have it there is a reason. If you need to contact me lets hope to Vishnu that it has nothing to do with FA or I will come to your house and go all aloo snackbar on your asses. So far I have 20 likes on FB and would like to get more. The more likes on FB, the more people who will see updates when I post on my blog (it's simple math). So go out there and spread the word of the all mighty Hookah Husky!!!! If you do I will let you smoke my hookah next time I see you (who am I kidding, you can smoke it either way because I am just that kind of guy ^_^).
Once I hit 50 likes on my FB fan page I will be holding a raffle to show my love for all of your support. I would like to give out a 50g box of one of my favorite shisha's, but still looking into the laws on giving away tobacco. If not I hope to do something else (maybe a gift certificate to hookah-shisha.com or something = to what a box of shisha is). I know I know, it's not big, but hey, what do you expect for just 50 likes? In the future I would like to do more raffles, but for that I need more people watching me.

Posted 12 years agoSubmitted my panel for FurFright, but the outlook is not so good. Got an e-mail from staff basically indicating the panel might be a no-go since it is "tobacco related" and FF is a family convention. *sigh* I kind of expected this since they don't allow "adult" panels, but hoped I could get mine through since the focus of it is on hookah and necessarily the tobacco. Oh well, I e-mailed them back with a couple changes. Now the waiting game begins to see if I can get approval or if it will be a flop.
If the panel does not get approved, that just means I will have to do an unofficial panel somewhere.Hookah, Shisha, Mu'assel? Whats the difference?!
