Ugh, where to begin?

I have been working my ass off for my father helping get our house ready to put up for sale. This means 2 things (1) Little time to do things for myself (including going to see my mate  tarucat) and (2) I will be homeless in 2 weeks. Thankfully I have offers from family as well as my mate to stay with them for the time being while I go through the application process to become a LEO.

How is the process going you ask? Slow -.-

I have put in 7 applications in total, taken 2 written exams, and have my third written exam coming up with Brookfield PD (tomorrow morning). My first written exam I did spectacular (91%), however the same could not be said for my second test (77% >.<). The problem is not so much the content on the test itself, that is a breeze. What really gets to me is the format, more specifically the memory portion in the beginning of the test. On the first test the memory portion was relatively small; ~8 mugshots w/ descriptions/crime information to memorize as well as a crime scene photo. The second test however was A LOT bigger; 3 mugshots, info on missing persons, and a slew of procedure protocol. In fact there was so much information I was unable to get through it all because I was trying to memorize every little detail. My horrible memory is going to be my downfall. Lets just hope future tests are more like the first with a smaller memory portion.

But what about the fancy mega yacht?

Well now that I am getting to the end of my stay at my current home, more and more work is getting completed. This means I finally get some time to go out and enjoy myself. A friend (who is also taking the police test with me) and I decided to have some fun after the exam. This involves going to the boat show in Norwalk, but more importantly, an art show on a mega yacht in Greenwich after the boat show. Bitch I'm going to be fancy as FUCK.

So is this where the military comes in? Do they storm the mega yacht and throw all the pretentious rich assholes off the side? I wish......

In the small time I have had to myself, I have talked with a recruiter from the Army National Guard about becoming a 31B (Military Police). I spoke with him for a good deal of time, asked questions about how it might effect my potential career (BCT & AIT conflicting with police academy, monthly training, etc). I feel like my questions were answered well and will be contacting he recruiter again about taking the practice ASVAB to see if I am eligible for 31B. It is still a decision I need to think about more (since it is an 8 yr commitment). I am REALLY thinking about it. I have talked with my mate about it and she supports me.

As or my beautiful mate  tarucat, I love her with all my heart and can't wait to see her next week. It has been about 2 weeks since I have seen her smiling face and been able to hold her close to me. The distance between us sucks, but we are making it work. I am looking for a security job right now to hold me over till I get hired with a PD, and have been looking up where she lives. I want to spend more time with her and once I get a job I will be able to drive up to see her more often.

I still need to get pics from AC up (really I have not really had much time), and I hope to be able to see more friends in the coming months since my schedule will be opening up once I move out of my house ( morearty I am looking at you). Also can not wait for Furfright!!!

Anyway, that is about it for now. Heading to sleep soon so I can be up @ 6:30 so I have time to make/eat breakfast and drive an hour to get to the test.

I didn't pass.........the CHIP test was slightly different than the cooper test I did with Enfield PD. That slight difference was enough to fuck me over. If you are wondering, the difference was on the straight leg seated stretch. On the cooper test that allowed a slight bit of bent knee, which was enough for me to hit my mark. Today when I took the CHIP test if you knee happened to bend at all (even in the slightest), it did not count.

Now, I will admit this is my fault since I should have not assumed they would be exactly the same (though requirements are 99.9% equivalent). The thing is the next test is the 14th of July, so I have 2 weeks to prepare.

Anyone got suggestions on straight leg seated stretch? I need to be able to reach 1.5" past my toes in 2 weeks (2.5" ideally if I want to hit 50th percentile).

Good news is, sit ups were before stretching and I blasted through those no problem.

I apologize for my absence. After AC I was swamped with things to do. With my parents move getting closer (July 10th), I have been helping them a lot. I will be going down with them to help my dad drive his van down and help them unpack a bit.

As well I have my C.H.I.P. test this Saturday (police physical agility exam), and I have been working out a lot to get in shape for it. Good news is I am down to ~187lbs (last year I was 230lbs), and can do the push-ups and sit-ups for 50th percentile (33/min & 40/min respectively). I was able to do 17" for stretching last time I took the test (17.5" required for 50th), and was close to 40th on the mile and a half. Just hope my mile and a half time is down to where I need it to be for 50th (11:58). Wish me luck.

Naked man killed by Police near MacArthur Causeway was ‘eating’ face off victim

One man was shot to death by Miami police, and another man is fighting for his life after he was attacked and his face allegedly half eaten, by a naked man on the MacArthur Causeway off ramp, police said.

The bloodshed began about 2 p.m. when a series of gunshots were heard on the ramp, which is along NE 13th Street, just south of The Miami Herald building. Witnesses said a woman saw the two men fighting and flagged down a police officer who was in the area.

The officer, who has not been identified, approached and saw that the naked man was actually chewing the other man’s head, according to witnesses. The officer ordered the naked man to back away, and when he continued the assault, the officer shot him. The attacker continued to eat the man, despite being shot, forcing the officer to continue firing. Witnesses said they heard at least a half dozen shots.

Miami police were on the scene, which was just south of The Miami Herald building on Biscayne Boulevard. The naked man who was killed lay face down on the pedestrian walkway just below the newspaper’s two-story parking garage. Police requested The Herald’s video surveillance tapes.

The other man was transported to the hospital with critical injuries, according to police. Their identities were not released.

With Diablo III coming out soon (near when I graduate), I thought it would be good to start playing Diablo II again. Over break I installed D2 and the LoD expansion and went through the first act with my brother and my mate. Created another character as well to play by myself (so I can keep my first one around the same level as my bro and mate).

My solo char is a pally, just started Act 2. The char I play with my bro and mate is an amazon (also in Act 2).

So if you don't know already from my previous journal (http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3055546/) I will be graduating in May of this year (if everything goes as planned). Also happening this year, my parents will be moving to North Carolina in October, leaving me and my possessions here. I will have 4-5 months after graduation to secure a job with a Police Department (which is almost the length of the CT Police Academy). This got me thinking, if I cant find a job where am I going to go? What will I do? That's when the idea of the military came to mind. Since freshman year of college I have toyed with the idea of going into the military, more specifically the National Guard. I almost pursued this idea after my first semester of freshman year, but decided against it since I wanted to finish college.....and I was a freshman, was the thought of military service just because I was away from home, or did I truly want to do it? Well it has been 4 years, and the thought keeps coming back.

I feel that it would be a good thing to do after graduating since it will help me get in shape (aside from what people tell you, round is NOT a shape >.<), give me some discipline (aside from what my mate gives me ), as well as experience.

Even more specific than just saying the National Guard, I would be interested in Military Police since law enforcement is what I am looking into getting into after graduation.

There are just a few things that worry me, including but not limited to my mate , and the fact that even once I am done with training (possible deployment?), I still have to look for a job.

Now, the job part shouldn't be too much of a problem after the military since I would be applying with a degree in criminology as well as military experience. Plus I will be physically fit so the CHIP test would be a snap.

*sigh* There are just so many variables and what ifs. I come here to ask suggestions from all you fellow fuzzbutts. Any military furs out there that could chime in with their two cents?



Note: I would not be against other branches of the military. Just threw National Guard out there since that is what I originally wanted to do, and it still appeals to me.

and it went better than expected. After a handling my mate at a Hi-4 event we were relaxing at my house with  mustel and  zarphus playing some pool and discussing the possibility that my brother and his wife were furs. We had talked about how amusing it would be if Mustel got in suit and greeted my sister-in-law when she came home from work, but they had to head out at about 7:00 (she came home ~7:30). My mate  tarucat and I decided we might as well just tell them we are furs since my cousin saw us at the event, so my mate decided to just clean her head at the kitchen counter when my sister-in-law came home.

When she opened the door she stared at Taru's head for a second then closed the door. She opened it a few seconds later and walked past it to her side of the house. A minute or two later she came back and we had a nice discussion about the fandom with her and explained that we were furries (she actually said she likes "fuzzies" as she calls them). We talked how its no different than the anime fandom or anything else and about whether or not we should tell my brother (since he ALWAYS brings up furry porn whenever the topic comes up). Well we devised a plan, for my sister-in-law to play pool with Taru in suit when my brother came home @ 8:30.

He came into the house and I talked to him for a minute before he walked into the pool room, paused, and said "Why is there a furry touching my pool table?". I chuckled and we came clean to my brother how we were both furs and explained the whole thing to him. This is when we found out he was just trolling the whole time and really had nothing against furries.

I always expected him to have the CSI mentality of furries, but was quite surprised at his understanding.

Anyway, after talking with him for 45 min or so about furries we watched the Walking Dead.
