Looking to sell commissions!
General | Posted 3 years agoHey all! I'm going to level with you, I'm in need of funds. Bills are coming up and I've been currently living paycheck to paycheck. While I'm not in a desperate enough spot to request handouts, I would like to mention that I'm open for commissions. I offer multiple different kinds of art (pinups, badges, reference sheets, etc), I have quick turnaround times, and for traditional arts I only charge $5 to ship to the continental US (more for international orders, depending on location)
Please visit my most recent gallery pieces for some examples. My prices start at $25 for a one character pic, and goes up from there based on media, content, number of characters, type of shading, and inclusion of a background. In terms of NSFW there are only a few things I won't draw (mainly scat, vore, cub, etc.) Please give me a chance!

General | Posted 5 years agoHonestly I don't know what I'm doing. I don't know what I need to do that's for the best of my future. I'm confused on where I need to go or stay, and can't help but wondering if I'm making a mistake. Things used to be so clear but now I feel like I'm just damning myself to situations and scenarios where I'm doing nothing but hurting myself. I don't like this feeling and I don't like where I'm going.

Honestly, this year is all about having fun. I'm not doing the artist alley because it's too stressful getting paid out. I am submitting art to the art show though.
The main priority of mine this year is to spend time with the kitty. I haven't seen him much at all and would love to change that.

UPDATE ON ART SHIT AND STUFF
General | Posted 11 years agoOkay, so about a week ago working on my little tried and true tablet Bamboo Pen and Touch, my hand started cramping up badly. Like, after only working for 5 minutes. It kept doing that no matter what I did, so I decided the time was here to upgrade the size of my tablet. I had bought a Huion H610 from eBay for $60 and it worked fine until Photoshop had driver issues with it and pressure sensitivity would randomly deactivate. Now I know what you're probably thinking: "James, if you mix Wacom drivers and the Huion drivers, you're gonna have a bad time!" Well, I know that. Before I even downloaded the drivers for the Huion, I uninstalled all Wacom drivers and removed all temporary driver files for it, as well as getting rid of any registry diddle that came with the tablet. So the drivers weren't the issue.
I promptly returned the H610 and exchanged/upgraded to the H610 PRO, which was nicer and the driver had more functions in it. And it worked perfectly with SAI and Manga Studio 5, until... I loaded it in Photoshop. Then it was back to the sensitivity issues, and also some jittering. I figured my PC wouldn't like the idea of sleeping around with a third party tablet. So I returned that...
The point of this post is to say I am currently waiting on my new tablet to come in the mail before I can continue much of my digital work. I bit the budget bullet and invested in the Intuos4 Medium, which I got for a bargain on eBay new for $200. I would love the Intuos5/Intuos Pro Medium in it's place, but it's also more expensive and wayyyyy out of my budget, and it doesn't have an OLED screen on it to show the functions of the keyboard. I also dont really use the touch feature of the Bamboo Pen and Touch I have already. Once I get the Intuos4 Medium in the mail, I will be back up to production! :3

General | Posted 12 years agoHey everyone! Tax season is coming soon, and since I expect to get not as much as I thought back from taxes, and with student loans picking up a bit more, I am gonna reopen some commission slots! Only 5 this time though, and they will start officially in Mid-February :P
Here are the rules to get yourself a slot:
-Commissions claimed will be started in mid-late February 2014, or sooner depending on the completion of current art work.
-You must claim a slot for at least one character, in at least inked lineart (Sketches are ongoing, regardless of commission window since they are quick and cheap)
-Only one commission per slot per person!
-Prices reflect those in the journal linked below.
-Limit of 4 characters per commission
-Line work for the commission will be submitted to each buyer before colors will be added. Before coloring, the payment must be sent in full to my paypal, which I will provide to the buyer.

As most of you can understand, this month is literally the busiest month of the year for retail stores, and since I work at Sears full time as a tool consultant, I get very, very, very busy this time of year. That, paired with starting student loan payments this month, as well as budgeting to save up for a car, other bills, finding a better job, and working on arts both for myself and for commissions, I have been incredibly busy this month. Actually, I have been very busy since about 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. This is where the updates come in...
I WILL NOT BE TAKING ANY NEW COMMISSION REQUESTS FROM ANYONE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
For those who have ordered commission(s) from me, they are coming! :3 I plan on taking at least two-four days off sometime soon to hopefully get my art worked on better. Most of the stuff I have gotten commissioned can't be worked on during hours where I can easily have my computer screen monitored. This is because I live with the other 4 members of my family and, if the subject matter is adult, I can't really have that open in photoshop because, well.. Family doesn't know I am drawing that kind of stuff :P This is just a mass update for anyone who ordered from me, and haven't heard from me in a while.
In usual cases, I send updates via email to the buyer on how far their commissions are along. In most cases I send a WIP shot of their art between each major phase. Since I am so backed up, however, I can't offer that level of check-ins for everyone. With that said, I will be able to send WIP shots of the complete lineart, and once you are happy with that, I can start coloring it and you will probably be asked to check the flat colors before I complete the art.

Over the past few months, I have gotten requests for quite a few commissions. Although I am not quite happy with my current financial situations yet, I have just taken a large commission; roughly 11 characters in total (g rated, you pervs :P ) With that said, I will be very very busy for at least another two months. That being said, I will NOT be taking commissions until further notice. I will open up with them as soon as the big project and the other currently worked on projects are completed and sent out. If you absolutely need a badge or something for an upcoming con, please read the following paragraph on rush commissions. Otherwise, please wait a while and I promise I will be back! :D
If you haven't ordered from me yet, but would like a badge in time for an upcoming convention, please let me know. I sympathize with the plights of congoers who don't have or can't find a badge for themselves. That being said, I WILL STILL OFFER CONBADGE COMMISSIONS! Same prices as listed in the previous journal before this one, with one stipulation: The conbadges will be done as soon as possible. To accompany this option, a rush charge will be applied to the pricing, equaling 20% of the TOTAL commission price, to be tacked on after all prices are spliced. This price increase is recommended for people who like my art but need a conbadge ASAP and as such, these badges with the extra rush charge will be completed within a week of the final payment. Typical badge work time equals between 4 and 7 hours total, so there is a chance that it will be completed within 3 to 5 days. Keep that in mind :3
ALSO, for anyone who wants a complete badge in the mail, I can also laminate and mail out badges, but I will request an additional $8 for lamination and shipping charges (expedited of course) This option is ONLY for buyers in the US, sorry!

PELTED PRIMACY DECK COMPLETED!
General | Posted 13 years agoI have completed my deck of cards for my Senior Exhibition. Properly named "Pelted Primacy," the deck will feature a new symbol, based on a paw print, for each suit emblem. Furthermore, the face cards (King, Queen, Jack, and now including Ace) will have brand new illustrated characters in an anthropomorphic, cel-shaded style. The Joker is also featured as a new illustrated character.
I implore anyone interested in it to note me, or comment on this journal. I will answer any questions I receive, so please send some! Also, here's one answer that I might get a lot of people asking:
I WILL offer the completed deck up for sale to anyone who wants one. I will offer two styles: Red back and Black back. They will each have the same faces, but the backs will be different colors. I will allow preorders for them; no direct purcahse, since I don't have the inventory. A preview pic will go up on FA sometime after the first week of April, so keep alert!
Starting prices are (unfixed) probably going to be $25 a piece, and the preorder for the deck will need to be paid in full to accompany the high shipping price that my printing service offers. I will ship them out for free, so expect the shipping price for your deck to be included in the cost.
ALSO: If I receive a total list of fully paid preorder slots reaching 100 or more, I will include the full-art custom tuck box for each deck :D
