TL;DR Up Front:
BLFC 2014 is probably the best con I've been to in 15 years, a side from a few small niche events. Almost everything major ran on time and without issues. No reg line. Tons of stuff to do. Well worth the price of admission. Don't drink so much, or don't drink so much and be around others

The Long Version:

Thursday:
I worked until 6:00pm and then packed everything to being driving up. Driving from Orange Country to Reno was a 465mi drive. The ride was mostly uneventful with only making one stop for food and gas, but was made with great mileage and timing with my driving skills.

Friday:
3am: Due to a “clerical error” we arrived at BLFC shortly after 3am but without a room or a place to crash. Everyone did their own way of waiting, and I ended up sleeping back in the car in the cold weather.

9:30am: After being able to warm up a little I was able to go pick up my Pre Reg Badge and the whole entire experience of entering the line, showing my ID, getting my packet, and out the door, was maybe about 2 minutes, which I was blown away about. Somebody is doing something right at this convention, because certain not what I am used to with other local California conventions.

10:30am: Johnny Rocket's opened – This would be the moment that I met probably my best friend the entire convention, “Keith the server at Johnny Rocket's.” I'll go more into how awesome he is later.

11:00am: I had signed up for the casino's poker tournament where I was 4 hours while the other roommates were all trying to deal with the rooming situation. I ended up placing third and winning $200 and meeting all the local players; all while painting a good impression of the furries to everyone.

12:00pm: As I was stuck in the long poker tournament but on a break, I was not able to get down to register for the Go-Kart tournament as it filled up instantly I was told. I would think they should have anticipated this to been a major event and should have planned according to get more people and resources for next year, but I went back to poker. When we finally got our room, the others came and got my keys to the car and began to take everything up to the room, but left my stuff in the car :(

Sometime between 2:00pm and 3:30pm:
I was finally able to get my room but noticed no one brought my stuff up, so I had to go down and bring my stuff up alone since I was not going to make two trips, I only had my fursuit box and one garment bag., but still was around 80 pounds to carry. I then took a shower after having to call the front desk to figure out how to turn it in, because it took my entire body weight to turn it on “counter-clock wise with a quite bit of force, but don't fear breaking the handle” as it was explained to me. After a shower I got into my fursuit and mingled for the first time of the convention!

I ended up meeting  faye_88 for the first time in person where she was corrupting her Adonis with his first furry conversation and fun ensued. I also ran into  Whiskeyfoxtrot who said that we were going to hold an unofficial Go-Kart event at 4:30. Up until 4:15 I got pictures taken and hung out in the open con space while suiting.

4:30pm: Headed over the Go-Kart tracks and met up got to watch the last final race as we waited for us unofficial racers to get to go after. The track would not allow Whiskeyfoxtrot to wear the GoCam, but he was able to hold it. Go-Karting in the fursuit was very fun and a challenge with such big feet, but we were able to go twice. I didn't think about it, but my badge ended up getting blown off and ran over by the others karts which was a classic “Fox Fail” It was probably after 5pm when we all walked back and us foxes  crazyjoe1952  Whiskeyfoxtrot and myself walked in on the fursuit auction. I ended up not entering because I felt was too late, but also I doubt anyone would have wanted to bid on me as a late entry. I went and decided it was time for a break from suiting.

6:00pm to 9:30pm: I headed down and made my attempt at the Mystery Video Game tournament, but I ended up doing poorly and I didn't make it into the next day, but I was glad to here that the next day,  Spelunker_Sal won the competition! I ended up signing up for the Charity Blackjack at the last moment. I could probably write a novel about how I approached the game and the strategies I used, but then others were have them! I ended up “placing” in the first round, won in my second round, and eventually won the entire tournament! I went up to the room and got into my fursuit for the final round to be all serious face the entire time. Many thanks to  BigFootCat who dealt the final blackjack to me for the win! I still owe him a drink for next year.

9:30-10:00: After the tournament and getting out of suit, I went down to Johnny Rocket's again where this time I met Vincent, who like Keith was incredibly awesome. After chatting he ended up tell me for some reason Keith was still in the back like 10 hours later! I'm like blown away, but the rest of the time I was there we were getting all the furries to join in the diner and parting it up. Next year, BLFC needs to figure out how to get Keith and staff involved with the convention because they are just awesome. The whole staff gave me a bunch of little cool JR's souvenirs for me. My night was on fire!

Post 10:00. I ended up changing outfit and roamed the dance floor a few times and just hung out in suit a number of times, changing in and out various times, but I was not able to stand being in the dances for more than 2 minutes. Eventually I went to bed around midnight

Saturday:

8:30 - 9:00am: I “officially” woke up and was sitting in bed on my tablet looking at FA and seeing if any con stuff posted. After around 9:00 I was being given the “go away signal from the roommate that was in the bed with me XD because I was actually awake with the blinds open.

10:30am: Johnny Rocket's where I got served by Keith a second time – awesomeness happened again.

11:00am: Tried my luck at poker again. This time it would appear that there were 5-6 others furs playing as well. Unknown to me I was playing with  NaniMoose at the same table. I didn't do anywhere near as good the last night, but was fun. Also the locals were very much enjoying getting to play with a bunch of furs, everyone I met at the poker room loved us running around!

12:00pm: I ended up walking around for stuff to blow my money on until 2:00

2:00pm – 3:00pm: went and got showered up and into outfit one and headed down to the official photographer and got my photos taken. Afterwards, I ended up playing with a number of the balloons and toys in the area with Whiskeyfoxtrot filming and being ended up dancing with a few people while band was playing music. I was trying to find someone that could actually waltz but no luck, only ravers :(

3:00pm – 4:00 changed into Miami Vice for the photoshoot and parade which was fun and very nice route. It allowed the non fur and locals to see and enjoy as well, which is always a positive.

4:00pm – 9:00pm After the extensive time in suit, I went up to find that no one was up there and so I took a little me time to freshen up and a nap.

9:00-post 12:00am: People trying to get me to go to party – AKA drama / went to bed instead – AKA being smart

Sunday:

8:00am – Woke up to a roommate who just got in and wanted to bed, was the only one that slept

10:00am – Got out to wait for the mini golf with other suiter. Everything was not so clear so it ended up waiting until after 11am when all us suiters waiting outside got to golf, but it was a nice cool day so was good. I had the privilege to get to be in a foursome (golf foursome) with  Tremelo,  nevermint and  iantogwynt (wasn't in suit) (A fox, kitty, puppy and human go golfing together....) but was a very fun time had. After we finished, we decided to go on the Go-Kart since we were there. All of us go on the Go-Karts and like the first time was awesome. But this time I got an awesome kart and was flying along the track!

1:00pm: After getting back, I discovered we had to be out of the room and pretty much out. I quickly packed my stuff so others can get packed into my car too. That was the end of the con for me as I didn't get to do much else on Sunday. Except drive 450 miles home but we made good time!

[I decisively decided to not discuss any roommate activities as it's not part of the convention and were the only negative things about the experience]

In the spirit of the Olympic Games (something that weirdly, means a lot of to me), I had an idea.

I want to make a "Furry Olympic Team" picture with one fur representing each sport which are listed at the bottom of this note. I pick the most of the event that are unique as we don't need all 46 Track running event etc.

So I went and saw this very funny movie. and it won over my heart with the Adorable Wafflebot which is my new Avatar.

I purchased a brand car today, my first completely brand new car. I am quite satisfied.

It is a 2010 Kia Forte EX, automatic. A nice little car that gets me where I want to go and the likes.
