Updates to my TOS due to online changes!
-All reposts of my work must include a link back to this profile or my Carrd in order to confirm it's real work by a real person and not AI generated.
-All art posts, including doodles and animations, are will be data poisoned! Yaaaay! Some old posts will also be reuploaded with poison, just 'cause.
-I'm remaking my signature for similar reasons, with a quick visual key for gifts, trades, and coms.
-I'll be offering some more niche/expensive stuff like synesthesia works, full streams, and longer animations on a FSFC basis.
-I'm restarting my passion for botanical photography and it'll have it's own tumblr, linked in my bio and from my Carrd.
-On ALL platforms I'll be doing the extra work to post references for EVERY image I post or repost unless it's already directly linked.

All of these are to combat some of the general slop of the internet, but also add some connectivity between the massive volume of my works in general, and to give me more confidence in the stuff I reblog and interact with. Thanks for reading and have a good one!

THE SMUT IS STAYING! I was going to rebuild from scratch and have a perfectly SFW alt but then that would mean I give up something deeply important to me. So if it goes, I'm going down with the ship! Sorry folks, I deeply resist raising my prices to remain affordable but I can't survive without raising prices. I will, now and forever, continue with free artwork as my service to the community at large as an expression of my love and support, but I very unfortunately have to afford groceries, which at the time of this journal are not cheap. I have set up Kofi subscriptions and Subscribestar to take some of the weight of my expenses, but even with them I am going to have to make some drastic life changes to afford the cost of living.

I have a lot of things that have slipped through the cracks, so for the immediate future I'm going to be trying to just get back on my feet for a semi-regular streaming schedule. Due to the frankly unreasonable amount of stuff I need to finish or revisit I'm going to be staggering things so I can tackle things in a way they'll actually get done, and open for sketches/clean lines in the meantime. Freebie streams will continue with new rules, adoptables will be dropped on the Pancakeslugs account.

My new SFW account is  Pancakeslugs I'll be posting all SFW adoptables, freebies and requests there. By maintaining this space with adult content I've kind of hobbled myself as the internet and payment providers become more and more hostile to absolutely anything adult that isn't an ad. So going forward this is my NSFW and RP art account. I'll be posting some SFW stuff here but my SFW open species, closed species and merch stuff will all live on Pancakeslugs unless it's adult merch, which will live here. Very little crossposting is expected, but some characters will have work on both accounts and share a similar tag for easy finding.

I'll also be pimping my Kofi in every post while I work on a patreon situation for my adult freebies. While I hate to paywall anything, I don't have a choice at the moment. While I have always made an effort to stay affordable for anyone who wants art, this has also devalued years of my hard-won progress and generally made me more prone to burnout. I have struggled with my prices for as long as I have drawn. Due to this I am making some serious overhauls to my prices, as well as providing other ways to support me, merch, and some early access material behind a paywall for supporters on Kofi. I dislike this greatly, but cannot neglect myself in the pursuit of my service to the community.

:Freebie Streams:
I never want to stop doing freebie streams, but the rules for them will change pretty drastically next year, 2024. As it stands the rules are one page and very simply written, with a few limits to prevent abuse. The new rules will be more of the same, simply stated. While nothing brings me more joy than being able to help folk see their characters and ideas come to life in these streams-the consistent parade of thankless, rude, illiterate and entitled people that also demand my work, time and passion make this a double-edged sword that cuts me very deeply. I will not cede this act of love to them but will enforce new, stricter boundaries to protect myself and those who appreciate my efforts.

:Merch:
People keep asking for shirts so I'm making some. If they're popular enough I'll do print runs on them to bring the price down. Similarly, I'm tempted by a run of makeship plushies, but don't know if there's any or enough interest to fund a round of them. I have some enamel pin designs, and will also be doing streaming videos on occasion that can have a shout-out at the end for a tip, which can include advertising for commissions and small businesses. Unsponsored videos will have advertising for a charity of my choice at the end. I will not have a Patreon due to not being particularly good at keeping schedules, but will have a Kofi support tier to allow folks to see ALL my doodles and work on all platforms about a month in advance of posting.

:Kofi:
Supporting my Kofi will get you a link to my private art discord. This is mostly where I post anything I make, and is an adults-only community for updates, YCHs, Adoptables, doodle dumps, and occasional streams of art or gaming. Monthly supporters will see all of my silly SFW doodles, as well as anything SFW I post about a month in advance/thumbnails of NSFW works as teasers. I am just starting to test this out, and posting will begin in the new year for paywalled early access works. If all goes well I may add voting on themes and other goodies in the future.

:Adoptables:
All adoptables will all be $50 or more, no matter how much effort I put into them-but I'll also redraw them on occasion until they are sold. In addition, the first com bought from me of the character is 50% off the normal price. Slowly but surely, I plan on selling all my old adopts redrawn and updated. If you bought an adopt from me in the past you may also receive 50% off the first or next com you buy of that character from me starting in 2024. I will also be offering DIY adoptable linework in my Kofi shop with PSD files so you can make your own, sell your own, or color them for fun.

:YCHs:
YCHs will be free for members of my discord. They will be completed on my own time to whatever polish I choose, but they will remain free and remain open until archived. I will occasionally post finished YCHs here, but will not post the YCH listing itself, those will be on the discord server only. They will all be available for folk to download and use for themselves as well, but not available for other's sale. These will be sporadic and not high priority, but will be posted on occasion.

I'm going to be offering adoptables again, but they will be a lot more expensive than even my usual work. That's it. Any previous adoptables I closed are not going up for sale unless I redraw them.

I've struggled with my prices for a long time. I love making gifts, doing silly ideas, and offering freebie streams so I can give everyone the gift of good art. Off and on, I've considered having a patreon that allows all patrons free requests with no limitation, but I find I have a lot of issues with people obeying even the most basic rules to prevent me from burning out.

When I burn out, it can take days, weeks, even months to be able to find joy in drawing again. I hate having to restate my boundaries, often to the same people, over and over. So now breaking the rules for the second, third, forth time will have suitable consequences, as will dodging mods to contact me directly in streams, and waking me up/demanding my attention at inhuman hours via various messaging apps.

I never want to price people out. I know art is a luxury, but it's also therapy for people who can't afford it. It's fun. It's joy I can share. So I'll still have my occasional freebie stream or requests in my discord, but adopts will be pricy. Buying adopts is a way to support me without anything monthly, any additional sites, and you get something out of it. For now, my usual com prices will not change. I will not be charging more for character design, or anything I make for fun in streams.

I still have TWO coms I am working on, both of them are absolutely massive. One is several pages full color, while the other is a painted scene. The open internet is being crawled without artist's/photographer's permissions to train AI*. Private medical photos have been stolen**. Entire galleries of dead artists are being uploaded to train AI, with no consideration at all for the artist's wishes or their family***

It's not just "Oh, well if you don't like it, don't participate" because trust me, if I could confidently step aside I would, but I cannot with any reasonable measures stop someone determined to steal or even profit from my work.

The effort of making my art in a small, 1-on-1 sphere prevents me from policing the wider internet for violations of my trust or abuses of my work, more or less.

I will not, now or ever, take action for someone stealing a design for a mug or magnet, tracing my work, reuploading my work to a gallery site without credit. As the creator, I also kind of don't care. It's social courtesy more than anything.

Using a machine to learn based on an artist's body of work should be compensated after gaining consent. At the moment the technology is still new; there's easy tells and ways to know-but in the future that may not be the case.

These engines work by making a collage, one that uses hundreds or thousands of images to piece things together. They do not generate a new image by their own work; every piece is a gestalt of other images.
Many AI gens-even PAID ones-have been caught red-handed with work that has watermarks, signatures, and flooded submissions in protest to violating the consent of the userbase of the art site in question****

I hate it, but I'll be adding "invisible" ugly watermarks on every piece. This is a burden on me, but my only other recourse is not posting anything. I know AI gens are not allowed to be posted here, but am just making an update to explain the change.

Day of the dead isn't Halloween, guys. You're respecting the memory of the loved ones you've lost, sugar skulls are not a quirky Halloween thing, can we please not, thank you. I despite not having any cultural ties to the holiday, am a bit butthurt about it. Clean a grave you like instead and bring flowers to a cemetery. I'm mostly ranting because every dollar store within a six mile radius of me has "quirky/cute" Day of the Dead merch in the Halloween section. Am I pleased to own a ceramic skull coated in gold roses? Yes. Am I fully aware that most people don't know or care to parse the difference? Also yes. The only change is that I will not draw Day of the Dead themes/ideas as 'Halloween' costumes or parties.

Similarly, the "Wendigaunt" but not spelled that way and any such variant of it has been requested to not be spammed into some cheesy monster by popular culture by the originators of the idea, and I really agree. It's okay to like skeletal hunger-beasts and starving, evil monsters, just make your own. If not? Store-bought is fine. Want a hot guy with a skull head? There are so many. Skull-headed monsters are nothing new, but I won't draw specifically that one. All the others are fine. Hircine shows up every so often and if I don't go hunting with him he'll turn me into a unicorn and hunt me for sport.
