Posted 10 years agoWell then
Posted 11 years agoJust thought I'd post something.
Got to see a couple of my good friends get married recently, which was nice considering it was the first wedding I've ever been to!
Also got to hang out with
over Halloween. We went fursuiting at a gay club, which was holding a costume party, so hey, that was pretty fun.
Also got to meet
through a friend. She's a cool cat! Like seriously, she's pretty awesome. Kickass artist, too! -Really- glad I got to meet her!
Still working on my writing... I finished a story but I'm not especially proud of it... so maybe I'll just post it anyway. Just 'cause.
Also applied to graduate school... hoping to become an LPC.
Yeah, this is disjointed... I don't usually like doing journals, but I thought I'd post something.

Taking a risk, here. Commissions!
Posted 11 years agoSo, because the job market completely blows chunks right now, and I'm taking the advice of the Joker, who said "if you're good at something... never do it for free." for the time being I'll be doing a few story commissions. Now, not to say I think I'm a great author... I just know that's what I like doing. So for now, I'll take short story commissions so I can continue my writing skills.
They can be anything within reason, so sexually explicit stories are OK. However, there are kinks I will not do, which I will broadly describe as "Out-there" kinks. If you're not sure if a particular one falls into that, then let me know and I'll clarify for you.
Anyways, the short stories will be restricted to five pages, maybe six. Cost is $3.
Let me know via notes and we can work out the payment there.
Also, don't just give me story ideas that are just "Character X and Character Y have sex" or "Character Q being a badass." I need context to that. What do they like doing? What are their jobs? Basically what makes your character not some blank slate nobody?
Right now, I can only take up five slots for this.
So feel free to hit me up if you like.

The meme about sex... Because why not?
Posted 12 years ago1. Is there anyone on your friend's list you would ever consider having sex with? A few.

15. Has anyone ever gone beyond your personal line of respect sexually? Nope
16. Where is the most romantic place you have had sex? - Well I can't say I've done it anywhere terribly interesting... though there was this one time when I really started to feel a connection, but that was in a bed at the other's house.
17. Where is the weirdest place you have had sex? In a dorm room on ASU campus in Phoenix... moments before my mother called.

Kaiya and Shippou's going away party!
Posted 12 years agoHey guys, you live up in or around central Oklahoma and want to wish some fellow furs a fond farewell by rollerskating?
My friend
kai_ren_sky and her mate, who's in the Air Force, are being transferred to another air base later this year, so they're planning a big going away party at a local skating rink before they leave!
It'll be in October/November-ish, but the date isn't set in stone, yet.
So, go check out her journal here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/...../#cid:33939260

Posted 12 years agoWon't be making Wild Nights this year. It falls right on the time when school really hits crunch time... so it's just not gonna work for me.
When things just don't work out
Posted 12 years agoSometimes they just don't.
And I learned that kind of the hard way, today. That thing I did the same weekend as Furry Fiesta? Well... the friend who invited me... we're not really friends anymore. I've pretty much been demoted to "acquaintance" status. But I guess it's not so bad. I know I watch a show that spouts the joys and virtues of friendship, but again, sometimes friendships just don't work out.
If there's one thing I know from hanging at cons with the Sinners & Saints, it's that you are more often than not best served sticking with your "crew." I forgot that... and I paid the price. You work with your group, not against them.
If nothing else, I've learned to appreciate the people I still have even more. And I feel like I've been neglecting some of them as of late... So my move right now is to fix that. For one, Wild Nights is a definite go. I have registered, and I will be there.
Anyway, sorry about the... whatever it is I just did there, but I want to say it's truly awesome to know each and every one of you.

Sorry about Furry Fiesta
Posted 12 years agoWon't be making it this time. I'll be... otherwise occupied.
It's like this, if someone offers you front row seats on Broadway, you'd probably take them even if it meant missing out on hanging out with friends, because odds are, they (ie your friends) would understand. That's pretty much what's going on with me. Except the part about Broadway, I'm not going to New York. But this is still one of those once-in-a-lifetime kind of things. And I wouldn't want to miss out on it.
I love you guys, and it pains me to miss Furry Fiesta, but I promise you I'll be at Wild Nights. Shepherd's honor.

Yikes
Posted 12 years agoWell, that was sure like ripping off a band-aid.
But it needed to be done. A line must be drawn somewhere.
I apologize that this is cryptic as hell... but I needed to say it somewhere.

Take care, everyone!

Ahem
Posted 12 years agoI seem to have been less talkative around here and to my friends in this community as of late. And that's all my fault. Dunno what's gotten into me. Probably stress or something. It did recently just hit me that I'm almost done with college... and as much as I'm trying to prepare for that eventuality, I'm still worried about it.
But that's boring. Why don't you guys ask me something? Anything at all! I'd especially like to hear from those I haven't talked to in a while... I miss you guys!

No Subject
Posted 13 years agoJust going to keep this simple: I won't be at Furry Fiesta this time around. But I'll do my best to be at other cons. This year's crazy, what with my last year of college and trying to get a job. But after May of next year, I'll be done with college and I should have a job, so next year should be more smooth sailing.
My Pop's Vlog is up!
Posted 13 years agoNostalgia
Posted 13 years ago...can blind you. Or maybe it can remind you of how things were way back when. Good God, I know I'm getting old when I'm starting to have nostalgia for old TV shows I used to watch.
Before my current trend of watching a particular show about small equines animated in the little-used method (at least for professionals) of Adobe Flash, one of my favorite TV shows animated in what was then a little-used method, was Beast Wars! Yes, back then CGI wasn't used all that much until Pixar wowed everyone with how well it could be done when they released Toy Story.
So about two weeks ago, I was at my friend
dash1 's place, and we decided to watch an episode that had been released on Netflix. Man, we were all either laughing or watching awkwardly at what is now considered sub-par CGI expected of beginner animation students. Though I guess I shouldn't have been that surprised... looking back what I remember from watching a similarly animated program called ReBoot, the animation wasn't that good by today's standards, either.
Ah whatever. What about you guys? What are shows you remember from way back when that you watch now and wonder, even if only for a little while, why you liked it in the first place?

Reaching out
Posted 13 years agoA very close friend to me
kyousuke is recovering from a nasty car collision right now. I don't know the full story, but his car was hit full broadside at his hometown Midland, TX earlier today. His car's totaled, if that helps give you a clearer picture. As far as I know, he's all right when you consider how bad the hit was; a concussion and some broken teeth. His co-worker was in the car, too, and got hurt a lot worse. Both of them, as I understand, managed to walk away from it. Which, considering the photograph I've seen, is mind-boggling, in a good way.
I'm not a very religious person, but... I like to think that any positive thoughts and feelings are beneficial in some way or another. So, thoughts, prayers, chants, whatever you do to get in touch with the spiritual world, try to direct some of that to him. He's a great guy, and he needs all the help he can get. If nothing else but for a quick recovery.
Thanks.

I gotta say...
Posted 13 years agoFor whatever reason, I feel like I'm coming back in touch with my dragon side. Not sure why, or if I can explain how so, but... well, somehow it feels like it fits me, more. Now don't get me wrong, I still like Gunter and identify with the German Shepherd, but somehow a dragon seems more fitting for me.
Dunno if that means I'll be getting a dragon suit, but still...
Part of it, however, did come from an idea I had for a visualization thing I have going on in my head for the bands I listen to... I generally have visions of this particular band singing most of the rock songs I listen to:
Lead vocals/rhythm guitar: Dragon
Lead guitar: Female raccoon
Keyboard/backing vocals: Timber wolf
Bass Guitar/lower-pitched backing vocals: German Shepherd
Drums: Horse
I guess for some reason the return of this... I guess visualizer program my brain has installed in itself partially brought me to this conclusion.
Yeah, it's complicated, and I have no idea if any of this makes sense to anyone but me... but I thought I'd put it out there.

Get to know Dragonatic for the People meme!
Posted 13 years agoBecause everyone else is doing it, why not? XP
1. We all know what we call you, what about the folks at home? Whats your name?
Stefan is my legal first name.
2. How tall are you?
6 feet even
3. Natural hair color? (if you can remember it)
Brown.
3. What about eye color?
Blue
4. What orientation are you?
Predominately straight, but slightly bi.
5. Are you single, taken, or undecided?
I honestly am not sure... but I'm pretty sure I'm more or less single.
6. What do you do in your spare time?
Video games, write espionage thrillers, meditate with the assistance of music, watch movies.
7. What's your job?
I am a Junior at Southern Methodist University majoring in Psychology with a minor in Film.
8. What's one thing you like about yourself?
I got some pretty awesome friends, I'm pretty relaxed, I'm optimistic, and I'm pretty sure I have better social skills than what I've seen from a lot of other people my age.
9. Alright, now what about something you dislike about yourself?
I can be really absent-minded sometimes.
10. What's some things your friends noticed about you when they first met you?
I can be quiet, but around my friends, I really open up. One has told me I'm a "new soul" which is something I'm pretty sure I know what it means... and then I can be loud without realizing it. I dunno why that is, but a lot of times I don't realize it... and maybe it means I've got hearing issues. (but I guess it comes from blasting music into my headphones. XP)
11. Of what faith/religion are you(if any at all?)
Really... I'm unsure. I know there's a higher power, but I can't be certain what it is. Though granted, I think a polytheistic religion is a more plausible option out of the others. But that's just me.
12. Do you drink?
I'm trying to hold back on it. Because I cannot hold my liquor.
13. Do you smoke?
Nope. Maybe hookah if I'm in the right mood, but nothing else.
14. What are your fears?
That's hard to say... but I'd say one is definitely anything bad happening to my eyeballs.
15. What are your dreams/goals?
To publish an espionage thriller and make a name for myself. And then have it made into an awesome movie.
16. Ever had any crushes/ex's in the past/present?
Yeah... but I wasn't mature or knowledged in the matters of romance...
17. Who's your best bud?
Too many to list here... but all the Sinners N Saints, my good friends from High School, and a couple from College.
18. Alright, you got the cravin' for munchies, what'cha reachin' for?
A burger and fries from The Burger House down on Hillcrest here in Dallas... best freaking burger and fries I've ever had. That, or something from Fitz's on Delmar in St. Louis.
19. Favorite drink?
A root beer float with Fitz's root beer.
20. Favorite color?
Orange, baby.
21. If you had any super power, what would it be?
The power to manipulate ice.
22. Favorite movie?
Inception.
23. Least favorite food?
I don't know... can't say for sure anything's at the absolute bottom of that list.
24. Quick! You have only one meal left before you die!!! What is it?
A goddamn double bacon cheeseburger and fries from The Burger House and a Root Beer Float from Fitz's!
25. What do you drive/wish you drove?
I drive an 09 white VW Jetta.
26. Most disliked bug?
Pretty much all of them... though tentworms are at rock bottom of that list.
27. Most hated pet peeves?
Inability to spell or use proper punctuation or grammar.
28. Dislike in life?
People who can't drive.
29. Most annoying?
Idiots who think they're the only ones who's right on any given subjective issue.
30. Most disliked TV show?
Fucking "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." The people are dicks, and nothing that happens in that show makes me care about them. When it seemed a character was about to die, I actually cheered in hopes that he would. It's trying to cash in on the formula of Seinfeld with having characters who are not nice people, but they forgot the part about making them likable or act like normal human beings. Instead, they're unlikable people who barely constitute rational human beings. I am appalled that this show has gone on this long.

People
Posted 13 years agoWe all have people.
And when you've got people who are there for you, you couldn't have asked for better people.
I forgot that, once... but was reminded of it again by one particular person whom I hold in relatively high regard. And to him I say, thank you.
To all of my people... I'm glad you're here. If I have ever done anything to have wronged you, then allow me to apologize. I also promise that I will make sure that I will never do so again, too. I really wish I could do more, but the sincerest of apologies is the best I can do given the circumstances.
I thought I'd make a long journal about this, but... a friend once told me to "keep it simple" so I will.
I love you guys. And I am sorry. You know who you are.

A good point...
Posted 13 years agoI'm not quite as into Steampunk stuff as some other people are, but this is something I can agree with.

Not sure what to make of this...
Posted 13 years agoSo, today I went to watch the new Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows.
Fun movie, but that's not what this is about.
During the trailers, one of the trailers was for The Dark Knight Rises... looks just as intense as The Dark Knight, but as much as I wanted to be hyped up for it, I was really bothered...
OK, major spoilers if you haven't seen the trailer, but...
There's this scene where apparently Bane causes a football field to collapse while a football game is going on. And like, everyone on the field falls except the guy running with the ball, and when he reaches the end zone, he looks back to see the ruined field... and it really freaking bothered me!
And for that reason alone, I'm really hesitant about seeing the movie. I guess I'm just a serious white-hat kind of guy that I really hate seeing innocent bystanders like a bunch of people just playing a game get killed off like that.
I mean, it was a spectacularly rendered scene, don't get me wrong, but... man... I wasn't disturbed, but it bothered me. It felt like it crossed a line... Yet I'm not sure why. Something about the fact that it was athletes during a sporting event felt wrong...
I dunno. Maybe deep down I'm just a white-hatted marshmallow.

Skyrim
Posted 14 years agoYou know, I never thought I'd get into this whole Elder Scrolls business, but when everyone keeps telling me that it's like the greatest game this year, and when I watched a friend of mine playing it, and saw all the character options (-coughArgonianscough-) I couldn't resist!
So now... I'm playing a female Argonian warrior decked out in this awesome-looking steampunk-esque Dwarven suit of armor, with shield and sword, who just found out that the Thalmor Elves placed a hit on her, and are ordered to "Destroy her with extreme hatred." I think this... may or may not have had something to do with me botching a stealth mission in their embassy that ended up with me taking out all the guards on the premises...
And by the way, I'm reminded quite often in this game why I started out as a dragon character in the first place... -cough- I mean, it's not like I took off all the clothing the game will let you take off and had her running around town like that... and it -totally- didn't cause me to have a huge bout of laughter the likes of which I haven't experienced in a while...
Although I will tell you this... I have a staff that summons... basically a doppleganger of the DEVIL at my disposal. That staff is worth the crazy quest just to hear his battle cries alone!
