Been sick, feeling better
Posted 6 years agoI forgot to post something about this on Wednesday, but I've been violently sick for the past several days. It's been so bad I've not even been able to draw, staring at a screen for more than a few minutes has been incredibly painful, and I've been physically shaking.
Well luckily I'm feeling a LOT better now. My stomach is still on edge and I'm having to watch what I eat for the next few days in case of sudden V&D attack, but right now my head's finally clear, I'm not dizzy or shaking, things seem generally to be settling. I will be back to posting art on Patreon again, and subsequently here too, more frequently by tomorrow.
See you then ^u^

Another question?
Posted 6 years agoHi guys, it's Daniel again.
So if you've been following me for a while, you know that when I'm on and able to do art, I upload super-frequently and quickly. Now that I'm on Patreon too, I figured it'd be good to start advertising when I make new art on there. Thing is, the frequency with which I'm making art now means almost every day, you guys see what's basically an ad for my Patreon page almost every day (sometimes twice a day). Every time I do that, I feel kinda bad about it in some ways. I feel like I'm shamelessly plugging (which hey, technically I am), and it sorta makes me feel feels worse with every one.
I want to know from you guys if you think it'd be better if I not make a Patreon-first post for the pics I put up there (maybe just mention it in the description?), or maybe limit the ads to a few here and there for major works? Or if you don't mind seeing them up here?
Or maybe there's another way I hadn't considered yet.
Please let me know what you think? I'm not 100% on how to continue about this just yet.
Thanks ^w^

Advice on starting commissions?
Posted 6 years agoHi there!
So as you probably should all know by now, I've set up the first payment method for art I've ever done--Patreon. It's worked out so far, and I've had some really kind people donate. It was especially fun and rewarding making a commission earlier this week for the first time :D
I have, however, gotten messages from a couple people who don't want to pay through that site and would rather do one-time payments for things like YCH's and commissions. I'm all up for that, I'm just wondering--anyone who's experienced doing that kind of thing, how would you recommend I go about doing that? I have a paypal set up, I'm just not 100% sure how to get payment from people through it as of yet and how to direct people to it.
My thanks for any help you could give ^u^

Shazam! Is awesome :D
Posted 6 years agoSo some friends of mine and I went to the cinema yesterday to see Shazam in cinemas. Upon entering the theatre, we realised the sheer number of kids surrounding us, and realised--this is THEIR generation's Spider-Man 2002, or Superman: The Movie, or Batman 1989. Honestly, when we were done watching, I had this overwhelming feeling like this film is going to be put in the same league as those films, a movie people will remember from their childhood as such a unique, wonderful experience. The characters, pacing, bright vibrant colours, wonderful charismatic actors, so much about this film was so wonderful in so many ways!
One of the things I love about this is, the fights and visuals are so small-scale. This is an intimate story about one kid finding and bonding with his new, true family. He finds his place in the world, and it's not what he expected when he set off on his quest at the beginning of the film. Frankly, it's beautifully executed. The actors playing Billy Batson and Shazam are so good and natural in their roles, I forget that they're even separate actors for a huge portion of the run time--that's how well the plot gels this stuff.
Probably the weakest aspect of the film is that the deadly sins themselves are, sadly, pretty boring both as bad guys, and in their designs. They're all generic demon-shaped grey blobs, and only Gluttony has anything distinctive about the figure. Towards the end, there's a huge build-up to seeing Envy... and he's just kinda generic and looks the same as the rest. Dr Savannah himself is pretty intimidating as bad guys go, though of course doesn't even remotely resemble his comic book self (I don't mind too much, just thought I'd mention it). He does serve the purpose of showing the path Billy might have taken has life pushed him in certain directions, and if he had made the wrong choices.
This movie's screen writer was Geoff Johns, one of my favourite comic book writers (most of the time, he does have some... really unfortunate stories under his belt). His finger prints are all over this story, in a good way. He clearly had a lot of passion writing this, helping to bring to life these characters and this story in a way few others could. The premise is basically the movie "Big" with a superhero, and that could easily have fallen flat on its face, but with the writing, casting and directing so clearly on point as it was all the way through, it works in such a magnificent way. Even the most cold-hearted would find it difficult not to get swept up in the film's enthusiasm, fun and above all, heart.
I've not had this much joy in a DC movie in a very long time. It's so good to see it make people, especially kids, smile the way good superhero films really should do.

Oh yeah, I'm back! Also Patreon info stuff!
Posted 6 years agoHey guys, I just realised I never made a return journal. Well I'm here! With any luck, to stay this time :D
Yeah, I managed to sort out my software problem (turns out it was a minor, very easily solved issue), and I'm up and running. As you can see, four new pictures since Monday, two of which are on Patreon early-access for contributors.
Speaking of which, yes I have been working on Patreon tiers, and finally am able to follow up on promises made. I'll be pumping out a LOT of art over the next few weeks to catch up. Here are the rewards for contributors:
$5: Access to all art 10 days before it goes up on Furaffinity
$10: Access to exclusive Patreon-only art & comics
$15: Only five people per month can get this; A sketch commission featuring 1-2 characters in a scenario of your choice. You also get to post it to your page, as long as you credit me as artist.
$25: Only two people per month have get this; Clean-inked B/W commission from me, 1-2 characters in a scenario of your choice. Same posting condition as before.
I'll have more tiers to come as time goes on. Right now I'm testing the waters, seeing what people want and gaining more experience as time goes on.
Thanks for all the support :D

It's always something!
Posted 6 years agoSOOOOOO.... I finally got my digital pen situation sorted. Got a new one for my PC since I've given up on my old tablet, and tech guys I've talked to about getting the stupid nib out of the old Yoga pen has drawn up naught. So now I can draw on the computer again!!
...theoretically. See, now I've got the old method of drawing back, all of a sudden everything I draw on Photoshop is now pixelated like crazy.
Of course. Couldn't just let me draw in peace, the computer had to find a whole new way to mess with my ability to post art like I want to.
Well, I'll find a work-around for this, and with any luck it shouldn't take that long. See you guys soon!

Art problem resolved!
Posted 6 years agoOkay, so I've managed to get the software and hardware problems sorted on the same day. Annoyingly I've been gone for far longer than I wanted to be, but as mentioned, problems kinda piled on top of each other here in a way I wasn't expecting, so with any luck things should work out for the best.
...assuming a few days after I start uploading again, this site isn't suddenly ripped from me by the UK's current idiotic laws they're implementing concerning NSFW sites and their contents being blocked from our clearly too-innocent eyes.
-sigh-
Ahh well, new uploads coming soon, even if it might be all too brief.

******IMPORTANT!! To all UK peeps!!!******
Posted 6 years agoOkay, so I figured it would be best to post some clarification to my last post, regarding the blanket-ban on all porn or general 18+ content sites. Making sure accurate information is given is important. Little did I know THIS was the day FA would scare the crap out of me by going down for more than 8 hours, making me think the ban had already come to pass.
First off, this act (the Digital Economy Act, 2017) already passed two years ago. 1st April is just the date it's being implemented, so I'm sorry to say, but it's already done and there's no stopping it or hoping it'll just go away on its own. This is an issue that will likely affect you if you're on this site in the UK.
If you want more info in greater detail, read this article:
https://www.lep.co.uk/read-this/por.....FdOT8cRj87jjo/
I don't know for sure that it'll affect this website. It may be left alone, given that it's a site that, technically speaking, isn't actually a porn site. It's just one where people choose to share 18+ content.
To something more personal, I hope to have the tablet situation will be sorted come Tuesday. Here's hoping this last-ditch effort will be it. So for the next couple of weeks at least, if this works, I'll be back.

Goodbye forever (maybe)
Posted 6 years agoOkay, so as I've mentioned I've not been able to upload for quite some time due to technical issues beyond my current control. Well, it's about to get worse. MUCH worse.
Apparently, the UK government is about to institute a really fucking STUPID law that says sites with 18+ content will be automatically blocked from all users unless we basically provide the government with mass personal information on a consistent basis. We literally have to send proof to them that we are over 18 as a statement of "Yup, I'm loggin onto porn sites" along with which ones we're using.
This is none of their business. This has nothing to do with them and it harms FUCKING NOBODY.
Whether it'll affect FA, as a niche site with no real live-action, real-person porn content on it (some outliers notwithstanding) is uncertain. At the moment it seems to affect certain domain holders.
So yeah, we'll have to find out on the 1st April whether or not I'll even be able to be here. So... if you don't hear back from me again after that, just assume the UK gov has decided to blanket-block this site.

Still can't draw :'(
Posted 6 years agoOkay, so... for some reason Lenovo decided to not include software from less than five years ago on their site, and doubly infuriating is that the freaking HARD DISK I've got won't install the right software either!
I really have no idea how to solve this. I have no means of making digital art right now, and it's getting quite frustrating.
I'll update this another time, assuming I find a way to remedy this issue.

Tablet malfunction
Posted 6 years agoSooooo mere hours after finally getting Patreon set up, I tried drawing with my Wacom, and for some reason the driver's all messed up. It's pretty irritating and I'm hoping it'll get resolved quick enough. Update soon.
IT'S DONE! PATERON'S UP!!!
Posted 6 years agoOHHHHH-KAY--so, I've mentioned before that I've wanted to put up a Patreon for a long-ass time now. It really should've been finished ages ago, but at last it is up. I'm Daniel Sharpe on there, ready to start uploading weekly art, from sketches to fully finished pictures.
As a reminder, pics will be up on Patreon 10 days before they're uploaded to FA. There are other perks for higher contributors, but I don't want to push my luck and do higher just yet.
There's really no pressure for anyone to contribute if you can't or don't want to, but if anyone is interested, please consider contributing. Right now this is a really new and exciting time for me.
You guys are great, thanks so much to people who've been so supportive and nice :D

Still working on Patron!
Posted 7 years agoSo you may have noticed it's been a little while since I've posted an update. Mainly that's because I've had to set up half a dozen things, wait for important items to arrive and correspond with people via emails & phone just to set up what I need here (various complications have kept me from doing this the easy way I'm not gonna get into).
Aaaaanyhoo, as of I'm now several steps closer to setting up this darn Patreon. It'll take maybe 2-4 days before the final steps are complete (gotta wait for transactions to kick in and the like) and at last, it'll all be set up.
This has never felt more real. I'm genuinely excited by this, it'll mean finally getting paid commissions & consistent art out there. Looking forward to that.
Thanks a lot for the support & comments
-Daniel.

I GOT A PATREON!! (mostly)
Posted 7 years agoOkay, so for a long, looooong-ass time now, I've been promising people I'd start up paid commissions. I know a few people have messaged me already, so now work has officially begun on the "getting paid" part of my artistic development.
Part of the reason I haven't been taking on commissions in the past was because of discomfort. Back a few years ago, I didn't feel my art was worth people paying for, and I felt it would be unfair to charge for it. Besides that, I was notorious for spending long periods of time not uploading, and coming back sporadically with content. Well, neither of those factors are at play anymore: I can finally look at my art with some degree of pride, and I have proven I can produce work not only on a weekly basis, but sometimes even a daily one (even if not everything is polished artwork all the time).
Now, to the matter of Patreon--it's not completely finished. I haven't linked it with my bank account just yet, but work on that will be underway in a few days since some details need to be attended to before I'm open for business. I'll update you guys when that's done.
Lastly, the matter of price. I debated for a while what a reasonable price for my artwork would be, and for now this is what I'm going with:
Sketch, no colour (1-2 characters)
$15 [$5 for additional characters]
Sketch, flat coloured (1-2 characters)
$20 [$5 for additional characters]
Inked no colour (1-2 characters)
$25 [$10 for additional characters]
Ink/ FLAT Colour (1-2 characters)
$30 [$10 for additional characters]
Ink/full colour, final illustration (1-2 characters)
$40 [$15 for additional characters]
Depending on how many I get, and how complex an image you want, time taken may vary. I'm also not really doing background illustrations yet, like something set in a forest or city and the like. Once I'm comfortable doing that kind of thing, I'll update the commissions page. Remember, I won't be completely set up for several days, and I've just sent off my Patreon page to be reviewed and approved. I have no idea if it'll even be accepted, so this might be all for naught... especially with the political situation being what it is right now. With any luck it'll go through fine and I'm concerned about nothing.
Do please let me know in the comments if you would be interested in commissions. Thanks a lot ^u^
[SAME-DAY EDIT]
HOLY CRAP--okay, so I didn't realise how goddamned quick the approval/launch would be. Literally within seconds of submitting it, the thing was approved and I was able to launch! Still gotta link it with my bank account, but still, jeez--there it is!

Umm.... never mind, hehe
Posted 7 years agoSo, in the, like... 15 minutes since I posted that other journal, I found the memory card with the art on it. It's still probable that some of the stuff on there's not gonna be uploaded until after Christmas day, since I've still gotta ink and colour some stuff, but at least one of them will be up later today. Promise!
I is a silly
I is a silly
Bit of a whoopsie
Posted 7 years agoHi guys... so, I had three Christmas specials in the works, and unfortunately they were all kept on one SD card... which I have since lost. Sooooo I'm gonna end up putting them up a little late. Sorry about that.
I'll finish and upload them as soon as I can find the thing, and with any luck it'll at least be within December. Technically the actual Christmas season doesn't end until six days after 25th, so it'll still count!!!

VOTE: Christmas Special Picture! =(。^´▽`◕。)=
Posted 7 years agoHey guys!
I'd really like to make a Christmas Special picture/comic/something, and now I have remembered I have a working Wacom tablet I can use, it means I'm free to do one! BUT, I'm just not quite sure who to go for, so I'm gonna mostly leave it up to you guys for what macro/micro shenanigans will occur. Only ground rule: Nothing fatal; that means no digestion, no gore. What would you like to see--what theme and character would you like me to do?? Options below:
Characters:
A: Spacelancer
B: Nyan
C: The Librarian
D: Jenna (The 'accidental' predator Giraffe)
E: Andreanna (The Amazon who likes to have dragons as meals/toys)
F: Cathy (the tiger from "I Accidentally Cock Vored")
G: Lapline
And for the theme:
1: Gentle play
2: Oral vore
3: Unbirth
4: Anal vore
5: Foot play/stomping
6: Panties entrapment
7: Boob play
Combine a letter with a number and let me know what you'd like to see ^u^
Thank you :D

Broke my Wacom Pen :'C
Posted 7 years agoSo uhh... this is a bit of a problem. Technically the pen itself is not broken, but the nib. Problem: the nib was inside the pen when it snapped. It was a ridiculously easy thing to accidentally do, just pulling it out of the computer at the wrong angle, a piece of the nib broke off. Given that this particular pen can't be disassembled, and the nib can't be replaced while the tiny piece is stuck inside, it means I can't draw digitally until a replacement is ordered and arrived...so art's gonna be kinda slow for a bit.
This is quite annoying to say the least. But it's not a big deal, and art will resume soon enough. I've even got a couple of unfinished sketches I can put up in the meantime.

400 watchers!
Posted 7 years agoWow, thanks a lot to the 100 new people since April who've been adding me to your watchlists, I really appreciate it ^u^
And my sincere thanks to those who've been commenting nice things on my submissions, that means a lot. I promise not to slow down anytime soon, more art will come at a more regular rate than I used to put out.

Posted 7 years agoI honestly was starting to wonder if there were many angry trolls on FA, but here we are at last!
Probably shouldn't have even responded to their first comment, but felt like questioning their mindset a little and hoo-boy, they seem to be a ball of barely contained, completely pointless rage. So I'm not responding to them again after this.
I suppose technically they're not a troll, just someone who got angry at me for some piece of art I made showing arrogant dragons getting 'put in their place' by a giantess, and they don't like that sort of thing. So clearly, the best response is to angrily yell "Fuck you!" at the person responsible for that art and insult them, that' clearly rational right?? Hahaha.
Seriously though, this is Furaffinity--this is no place for anyone to judge anyone else for what they happen to like. Furries are already a niche, then you add sexuality on that, then the individual stuff like scat, vore, unbirth, incest, farting, diapers etc fetishes on top... there basically should be no room for anyone to insult others for expressing their personal art, right?
Nope, haha, guess I was wrong about that. To be honest, I find this person more laughable than anything for the above reasons.
In a way I'm kinda happy. Getting troll comments is one of those internet rites of passage, and this was quite funny :p
(don't bother looking for them, I don't want the situation to become worse with people responding to/insulting them, that wouldn't get anyone anywhere. Besides, the comments have been hidden)

I'm back again!
Posted 7 years agoHey people, I've annoyingly been separated from my PC and, consequently, all of you for a while now. My power cable snapped, so wasn't able to do any art on the computer for the last 8 days (Yeah, it took that bloody long for the new one to arrive, ugh).
Anyhoo, I'm back and gonna make up for lost time!

Here we are again with Photoshop...
Posted 7 years agoOkay, as per usual this is likely nothing to worry about, just some really annoying thing I'm gonna have to deal with. Thanks to my tech-savvy friend, I have a way out of this. Just gonna be really annoying for a bit.
My photoshop software has decided on a whole new annoying problem, where it will not register my pen's motion properly. Instead of letting me draw, it interprets the motion as a 'flick' to navigate the page. Weirdly, it DOES register side-to-side movements fine, but when moving the pen up and down it thinks I want to move the page up and down. The same thing happened on Adobe Flash some months ago and that was likely caused by the same thing... though I never found out what that was since I stopped using Flash anyway so I didn't really care. However, obviously, I use Photoshop quite a lot and am reliant on it for my artistic expression. This means no art for a while. Not idea how long, probably a few days. In the meantime I'll just deal with it.
Sorry about this, just thought I'd let you guys know now that this is an issue for me. It'll be fine in a little bit, might just uninstall Adobe as a whole and clean reinstall it.

Probably posting lots tomorrow
Posted 7 years agoI have three days off work starting on the 7th! Hooray!! As a result, I will have more free time to devote to kinky, sexy art for this site. I've actually got a bunch of stuff partway finished already. Some of it's been sketched and needs to be refined, some of it's only half-sketched comics, and some needs desperately to be started at last.... -cough-spacelancersescapee-cough-.... so yeah over the next few days, some stuff that's already been posted as sketches will be cleaned up, and there'll be some new content, following in my grand tradition of "drawings practically every day for a few weeks... then hiatus for a stupidly long amount of time" ahaha XD
Odd pattern
Posted 7 years agoSo like... you guys ever notice that whenever I'm back here, I upload practically every day for about two or three weeks, then suddenly--POOF!--I vanish again for weeks, often months, with no uploads?
Like, I still visit all the time. I favourite and comment on people's stuff, but I'm just putting out nothing for huge windows, until suddenly I'm hit with a wave of inspiration and here I am, cranking out stuff like crazy!
Don't know if it's just me. I know some people who upload really rarely, some who have infrequent but still plenty of uploads, then there's those who can paint stuff that's got visual quality like the Mona friggin' Lisa practically every day. I'm just about managing to put up rough sketches once or twice a day when I'm off, I've no clue how someone can balance full time work AND a consistent output at the same time.
Errm, anyhoo, off I go to sleep after another page of excising my kinks and fetishes on an unsuspecting but grateful bunch of lovely people!

A kinky librarian, and 300 watchers!
Posted 7 years agoSo ye, I put up a picture most of you probably saw by now of a kinky magical librarian bunny rabbit, who occasionally gets miffed at the gods, godesses, titans and other powerful, mystical beings who don't return their books on time, and punish them by shrinking them down and stuffing them in various undignified places around her body. Well, apparently she seems to be my most popular character right now despite existing for less than 24 hours at this point, haha. Definitely that's a character who is gonna stick around and return in the future.
On the subject of that--thanks so much for lots of people adding me to their watch recently! My watcher count broke past 300 on April Fool's Day (and damn, I kept meaning to make something that day to celebrate, but unfortunately couldn't since that turned out to be the day everyone needed me to do some stuff for them... ahh well, maybe next year).
Thanks again to lots of lovely people who were so kind as to share many nice words and support on this site. When I first started drawing giant gals and the like, I thought I was alone in the whole world. I thought nobody shared this kinda kink. I thought there must be something wrong with me... especially when I started combining my kind with that of anthropomorphic animals, and the giant robots known as Transformers (like, Arcee, Black Arachnia and Slipstream were cartoon crushes of mine, which I also thought must be weird...) Well, if the internet has taught me anything, it's not only that I was really, incredibly, extremely wrong there, but compared with some fetishes out there mine is downright boring! This site, and others, are great for exploring and sharing so many things that people may otherwise have never even considered before. Sometimes, it helps people an awful lot just to know they're not alone in what they like, their interests, their hobbies, and yes even their sexual kinks! I love finding out about the things other people share here, I even discovered things about myself through other people here I'd likely never have known.
That's what this site means to me. It helps my mental state stay stable, keeps me from feeling so alone with nowhere to share the art and ideas I have. Many of you are similar, I'm sure, with the things you like to share.
All that's to say, when I thank all 300 of you for adding me to your watch list, it's not to say the generic "thanks for following my art" or an egotistical back-patting, but a sincere appreciation for those who have helped me grow, learn, and relax in myself as well.
Thank you.
