So, where have I been and what have I been doing?

First of, thank you all for the recent watches for my page; glad to know people like my worthless pieces of crap that somehow passes on art. I hope you will enjoy the work that comes up. :)
Secondly, I have to apologise to a lot of you who had to wait a long time for your YCH commissions I originally had. I had no right to leave you all hanging on for as long as I did. I was just going through some difficult moments in life feeling that I don't belong in this fandom any longer these days. All the drama, the constant complaints about trivial things and more serious issues that make me feel isolated and make me feel like I can't talk about them. I'd rather keep the issues to myself right now though. x.x
Thirdly, now that I have gotten my Paypal working again, I did originally consider opening a new wave of commissions. The keyword here being 'was' until I felt that I needed to take a break from all of that right now. After putting things off for a couple of months on commissions and leaving people hanging for as long as they did made me feel like I was cheating them. So, maybe I need to put them off entirely until next year. I had wanted to learn more about traditional mediums of art like with markers and pencils. That being said, if anyone has any tips on how to get a good scan quality of them said pictures it would be greatly appreciated. ^^;
Finally, I have had a couple of thoughts about the state of FA with its poor security and its bad services which means that while I will be using this place still on an occasion, I will be planning to move more work around the place too like Weebly, Inkbunny and SoFurry. So I will be updating there a bit more too, if you have an account on those places then you should be able to find me around there since I use the same username.

My stance on FA
Posted 9 years agoOkay, now that we are finally back and getting a few pictures over and done with a long last for FA, I suppose it should be time to say my own piece on what I think of the whole situation.
I have been on FA for a decade now and have seen quite a few screw ups that did come along from it. From issues of sluggish performances, to hacking this site definitely has not had the cleanest reputation for reliability. Following the recent drama going around about having to reset all user passwords though (which I ended up resetting twice now within a month because of things that have happened) I can indeed say that it isn't surprising many people are up and leaving in droves.
I personally will still hang about on FA only for ease of browsing and for the friends who are still present on this site though, however I also have considered alternative sites to post my work upon if in the future an incident like this happens again. In addition to finding me on Deviantart, you can also find me on;

Posted 10 years agoHello everyone. I would like to thank everyone for the commissions being offered. The slots have been filled nicely and I am able to begin getting to work on them now.
Now, to begin with I am going to be focusing on the cheaper commissions first to get those out the way and be able to help put forward the 'drive' for getting me into becoming able to produce the more expensive and more complex commissions. Now, if you have been counting up the final amount, some of you maybe wondering if these prices are 100% accurate. Well, to be honest I may have charged one or two dollars extra than any money converter may have stated, but I hope that you understand that PayPal charges a conversion fee for money to be made from USD to GBP. I hope that this won't be too much of a bother for you all. ^^;
So within the next few days, hopefully we will begin to see more work coming out faster. Thank you all for taking part in this, and I hope that you will all be looking forward to your commissions as they come!

Posted 10 years agoHappy New Year everyone! Hope you’re all having a lovely start to the New Year, with new possibilities, new opportunities and new changes ahead. Hopefully we’ll all be able to have something to remember for the best reasons out of 2016.
Now then, to begin with I wanted to thank you all for your continued interest in my work though-out 2015 and I do appreciate all the feedback and all the best support you could have given me for my work and for my moments of struggle throughout the year. I only can apologise for now being as punctual with commissions or with trades and delaying them so much, but I have been in a rather difficult stage of wanting to attempt other things. For too long, I have struggled to step out of the content I have been producing since I first began as Duragan and wanted to try more varied content other than with just expansion work or with anthro/pretty ponies all the time. Now with that being said, it won’t mean that I’ll be stopping that content if still asked for or commissioned for it, however I want to try alternative styles and alternative methods to produce content I had always wanted to attempt.
I have set myself some personal goals for 2016 both on DA and off.
1. Attempt more Digital Painting. I have made several work before based on a type of comic book/cartoony style, but I have always fancied a chance of wanting to work digitally too. In addition to that:
2. Attempt more traditional methods. I do love using my computer for artwork and I do love working on a computer to help bring out the best of my work as it, but I want to attempt to mix up options for my work by trying out things like coloured pencils and markers too. Maybe set those up as cheaper commissions over the digital work:
3. Create a professional portfolio. The time has really come for me to branch outside of just being known as someone who makes one sided fetish content and want to start attempting to make some REAL money by getting out into the real world and find big paying clients. This will mean that I will have to attempt to sacrifice my time here, but I will try to be more punctual in the meantime:
4. Spend more time at my family allotment. Me and my parents had fun at our allotment growing out own fruit and vegetables, but through the last part of 2015 we had to leave it be since we needed to focus on other matters which has left the place neglected. Hopefully we can get more work done on it and hopefully grow more food too. Healthier food that is, which leads to:
5. Attempt to lead a healthier lifestyle. I plan to do more activity outside of the world of DA or FA or wherever and want to take up more swimming and enjoy a healthier range of food. Only fair to do so.
There are a few other things I would like to get done, but those are the most immediate things to go with so far. Hopefully this year I can reach these goals and begin to produce more varied content while still doing more with life out there.
So, here is to a New Year! Welcome 2016! :D

First of all, I want to apologise to everyone for the delays about all that has happened. x.x I think I burned out a little too soon from all that had happened earlier in the year. Either way, hopefully this time I can stop letting the style others use so much and rely on my own style I can use which is the style you ALL enjoy the most. ^^
Secondly, new prices are available but they come with more straight forward prices available. Hopefully this way I won't get over worked on these commissions now. I also have decided that cel shading is more my speciality than Raster shading, so I will be adding in shading and tones in that style from now on. :) Also, I will attempt some sequence work too to see if that can bring in some more work too, so prices are available below;

I've taken some feed back from a few people and have come to decide the last amount was a bit short for my work (which I'm actually surprised and flattered some said that ^^; ) so I have come to a better conclusion with prices like this instead;

Well, that was quite a lot of work gone through, but the last of the commissions I needed are now over and done with. ^^ Some are still to pay, but I am at least in contact with them about it so hopefully the money will come in ASAP.
I just wanted to say to everyone who ordered a commission from me either Spot or Scenic a bit thank you for your support. You helped me through with some money troubles and I really appreciate your support from it all. I was also thinking of something else too.
It seems that some people have said my prices are a tad pricey for many of you out there and perhaps during the time I was taking these commissions, there seemed to be many more people out there who were more than happy to pay with the prices offered. So I decided to rethink my prices and offers available. So how would THIS sound for new prices:
£5.00 (or $8.00) for a Spot with a maxiumum of 3 characters plus;
- One extra character (+£1.00 or $2.00)
- Cel Shading (+£2.00 or $4.00)
- Raster Shading (+£3.00 or $6.00)
£10.00 (or $16.00) for a Scenic with a maxiumum of 3 characters plus;
- One extra character (+£2.00 or $4.00)

Update and special commissions now on offer
Posted 10 years agoWell, if you've been keeping up with what's happening from the other day, I have gotten back now from the hospital for a check up on my condition and it comes with some good news and bad news.
The bad news is the kicks I had to deal with that drunk has left me with a broken toe bone (or simply put, my big toe) which means I am on crutches for a while and am meant to apply no pressure to the toe at all for nearly a week until I see a fracture specialist. This means that I will have to rest up for a while and will need some time off work.
The good news at least is that my hand is not as bad as I thought and I might be able to hold a pencil for drawing after all. So since I will be off work for a while until I get better, I will be offering special commissions at a new price to help get some cash in while waiting through the healing process. This does mean though that the current crop of commissions I have been working on will have to be put on hold for a little bit, so apologies there x.x but once I get these done I will resume those. SO, how does THIS sound?

Help a friend, desperately

Confuzzle and new changes to commissions

I am now back from my very first confuzzle convention ever and I have to say, it was quite a fun experience. :)
When me and SDF set off to SMraides' house, I was not too sure as to what to think before getting there, but I was at least trying to keep my hopes up for an easy going event. When we first arrived over at the hotel, it was already packed full with furries from all ALL over the UK along with a few other countries like the US, Germany an France. When we checked into our rooms (SDF and SM got to share a luxurious double bed room) and I got a comfortable single bed room which reminded me of the Travel Lodges me and my folks stay at when we travel around alot. :) So rather quick and easy to get into. After the opening ceremony, I was able to have a wonder around and finally came across rikmccloud in real life and he was a load of fun to be around. ^^ We were able to hang around, explore around the place, and even see a lovely Cobra sports car in the car park there which as HE pointed out was a carefully and beautifully remade kit-car. (I would certainly never have guessed, then again it would made sense since a car like that would not be left alone without some some heavy duty security around them)
There was plenty of things to do there, and plenty of things to get done. I was able to try out Thai food for the first time (I recommend Chicken and Prawn noodles =p) and was even able to enjoy ordinary burger and wedges with all the cider I could drink. :3 Hey, its all been paid for so why not? So in addition to enjoying the food, I was also able to enjoy watching some funny karaoke moments from some people who failed to hit high notes and actually applaud some who were pretty good. :) Rik really made an impression with his song Bohemian Like You by throwing in his own mix for the chorus. There was also one of my all time favourite artists who was there
drdubz who is as mad as he is in real life as he is online. But he was still a cool dude and even after he learnt who I was from showing him my flimsy badge, he offered me a hug. ^^ Lovely stuff. I also met 
muzz while I was there too and she really is a friendly and fun person to hang around, even if I was a bit nervous to talk to her about anything. ^^;
While there, I was able to set up a Dealer's Den and be able to sell some print off work from some of the best illustrations I managed to put together over the years, as well as make some new badges and make some fresh marker pictures while down there. It was rather stressful trying to get the work all done in time, considering that through my foolishness, I tried to work on a new set of paper called 'Marker Paper' which while it DID give a nicer glossier look, it was a pain the ink dry properly and some of the pics I worked on and made it look like a mess. x.x So it was a bit of a pain to have to do them ALL again on ordinary paper all through the night... especially when you have to get another room after the room I was in suddenly sprung a leek from the celling when it turned out the room's toilet above me had broke. I had to get SDF to help me move everything out to another room above me (which yes was in the same corridor not too far down from the room that flooded. XD Fortunately I was soon re located and the person in the room that had flooded, but it wasn't his fault so no harm done. It was just a pain to have to rework everything to get the pics all inked and ready for the next day and I only had one and a half hours of sleep. (Stayed up till at least 5:30am and woke up at 7:00am so I didn't miss the breakfast or the Den again) Still, SDF told me he went through four days with about 4 hours of sleep total. How he's still alive is a mystery to me. XD
But never the less, for the ups and downs, I still managed to enjoy myself immensely. ^^ I got some decent commissions done, got some money from it all, got some helpful tips for improvement of my work and sales in the future and even some helpful feed back to hopefully get further in the future.
Would I go to the next confuzzle?
YES! Definitely! =D Too much fun not to be able to get back into another gathering of so many furs. =p
So, there is some smaller updates out of the way, I have also had time to think over the prices of some of my commission prices. I might try a new system out soon to hopefully get more and at a cheaper and more affordable price for all. :) Not sure how to go about it as of yet, but expect changes to come to those soon.

Hope you're all feeling okay, I had a moment of depression before but it's thankfully easing up. ^^; Anyway, I have a little journal here for some fun in wanting to get to see how interesting your fursona, or ponysona or dragonsona or sonasona as it may be is. =p Try to play around with some top 5 trivia facts about them. :) And here is some of my fursona Duragan Howton.
1. His full name and name origin
Duragan was thought up after the main antagonist of the video game 'The Bouncer' a beat-em-up released for the PS2 back in 2000. The name of said antagonist was Dauragon C. Mikado. At the time I was thinking the name for my DA username, I spelt the name wrong, but it IS still pronounced Dauragon. As for his surname, up until I used to use Second Life, he didn't have any other title other than just 'The Lion'. But needing a surname to create an account, I went with the name Howton. Thus, after a combinaiton of mispelling and manditory requirements, Duragan Howton came to be. As for becoming a lion, that is thank's to my old friend 'whiteshadowrikku' who originally drew D as a comical lion character. I liked the idea so much that I stuck with it. :)
2. Space lion
Duragan isn't actually from Earth. He was originally from the big cat world of Melchian. There he was an ordinary civillian in a Final Fantasy style world but less technological (no computers or that) and he was an ordinary worker in a factory. That was until he met his friend sdf_of_bc and his time travelling and dimension shifting abilities ended up having him land on D's world. When SDF was heading off again, Duragan accidentally got sapped into one of the left over shift rifts left behind and he ended up on Earth. SDF found him thankfully, but couldn't remember which rift it was that brought him to Earth to begin with. Thankfully though, he and SDF (Or Steven =p ) were able to get along with each other well enough and became best friends having helped D make many more along the way, though he does secretly miss his homeworld.
3. The scrawny lion (once)
Duragan has been often caused Big D or The Tubby Lion for his noticible size. =p Though when he first came to Earth he wasn't ALWAYS that way. He was actually quite scrawny and feeble when he popped onto Earth originally, but living on this world and it's variety of food (both good and bad) he quickly molded himself out of shape becoming hooked on fast food, ice cream and candy. He tries to compensate his new size by keeping a strong upper body though often working out with dumb bells. He has great physical strenght because of this and because he can lift upto 25-30kg per arm, he can deliver quite a punch when needed. That being said, he does often miss being slim even if he IS often seen as content of his size. ^^;
*Keep in mind, as of late, D is undergoing a redesign so this trope may soon be obsolete. Just a heads up*
4. Big yellow pussy
Despite his big and otherwise tough exterior, the truth is on the inside Duragan is a coward. He'll often try to flee from any fight and save his own hide when possible. It's only whenever he feels his friends are threatened he'll try to suck up the cowardace and help when he can.
5. Such a sloth
Lions are often known as the laziest animals in Africa and Duragan is no exception in THIS case here. XD He is very lazy and will often nap throughout the day even after getting a good night sleep and even sleep throughout the day. Adding to that he is a heavy sleeper altogether and it's good luck trying to wake him up once he goes out. XD

Possible solution for commissions in the future?

As some of you may know, I have been in some conflicting parallels about wanting to try to go between either traditional methods of art to digital. I am in confliction with them because I honestly find both strenghts and weaknesses with both methods.
Traditional as in with markers or outlining and inking pictures before scanning them in as with these;

Pros = Faster to produce, more diverse than digital, always retain a physical copy of the piece through development.
Cons = Mistakes are noticible, hard to undo errors without careful digital re editing.

Is it worth getting a Patreon account?

As many of you may know, as of later there has been a lot of people getting Patreon accounts for some extra cash for working on a variety of content. To help explain it better, there is this video here;

For 2015

First of all, I do apologise for not getting these journals updated more often, I rarely update blogs unless it is really necessary nowadays. In any case, I want to first want to hope that you all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday. I know that for many of us, 2014 has not been an especially good year for many of us, but hopefully the holiday season brought some last minute joy to you all. For gifts, I mostly had new shoes. A nice pair for work and a couple for general run around which were nice and comfortable though. The biggest and best gift though was me getting a 12 month membership at at the old fitness gym I used to go to which I do plan to start going again to hopefully get a healthier lifestyle like I wanted from last year.
For many of us as I said, 2014 has been a mixed bag for many of us and myself included. For the good,
- I finally managed to get paid commissions set up and managed to get a decent amount of money from it which I am grateful for.
- I did manage to get out and more active helping out at my parent's allotment and enjoying the opportunity of growing our own fruit and vegetables.
- I was able to explore new styles for my art and feel a lot more comfortable in doing so without worrying too much about how I compare my previous works.
However, I did also regret 2014 for financial woes, the loss of beloved celebrities and the unease of things I shouldn't let get to me so much. x.x I do hope that 2015 will at least bring me and everyone else some better moments.
For this year, I have been planning on making a few alterations to my life:
To start with, I am re thinking my commissions prices and availability list. Since I still can't fully decide how I want to choose to produce my art (whether digitally with vector inking or traditionally with brush pens) I will be making the choice for you to want my work one way or another at varying prices. I was also thinking of maybe even starting a Patreon account to hopefully acquire more work and more pay.
For another, I want to start a video series on Youtube, whether they be of a reviewing series much like the Brony analysts community does with reviews of Friendship is Magic episodes and maybe even a drawing tutorial series on how I produce my work for helping with tips and tricks on how I produce work.
For a third, I want to start making more animations of varying content and possibly even as commissions. I need to figure out how to charge for reasonable prices and hopefully build up a more prominent portfolio for future hire. Speaking of which;
Fourth, I will need to start sacrificing my time here on FA and other places since I will need to start making some more affordable income. While I won't be leaving FA for now I will still be here taking commissions from anyone who wants them and producing any art I want to in the mean time, but I will also need to start getting out there more for work I can charge professionally to make a more stable income.
I also will not be closing this account down since I have thought about it and decided that I can't really let go of the place that helped me develop as a person and an illustrator/animator, but there will be a massive overhaul of older work and pictures which will be removed or stored away since they would either clutter up space and sometimes we all need an 'out with the old' approach with things.
Firth, I want to take up more hobbies offline and maybe even spend more time out and about with friends and family while I can get the opportunity to do so. Friends and family is important you know.
Sixth, make my own website for both work and entertainment. I also want to try and work on a project that I had wanted to work on with my pal Steven for the last 10 years. I've put it off for far too long but this year, I want to try and have a crack at it once and for all. What is it? If all goes well, one day hopefully this year, you'll see. ;)
And finally, once and for all, get ALL late trades, requests and overdue pieces of artwork over and done with once and for all. I'm sick of being in debt to people I know I owe too much to and want to get that work done and dusted.
So hopefully throughout 2015 we will see some changes coming and a lot of things will hopefully be made for the benefit of making this a year to remember for as many of the right things as possible. There will be ups and downs throughout the year (since we do experience them throughout any year) but with luck, we can all try to strive for 2015 to be a year for us all to enjoy.

Unwanted ramblings
Posted 11 years agoI really feel like something in the universe has something against me. -_- I say this because it seems that whenever I try to work hard on something, do something nice or try to be a better person, my reward is getting jinxed. Its been going on for a long time now, but whenever I try my best with something that I really want to work on for a project, do something nice for someone or just try to do something that I want to really try and get invested in, my 'Universal Reward' as I call it is either bringing bad luck to myself or to my family.
I know some of you may think that's crazy and I want to chalk it all down to coinsidence but it seems less and less likely that that is the case.
I try start a project to work on, my application crashes on me when before it worked perfectly.
I try to download a game so I can join in with my friends, I go through so many complications that is hardly worth anything.
I try to get a music program to work from Steam which is a well recommended one and my computer reports a Malware threat.
I try to work on a B-day pic for a friend, which I put a lot of time into the inking alone which took me all day, and in that same day my brother's car breaks down and forget that my car's window is open during a thunder storm when before it was nice and sunny.
I try to get some colouring done on it today, my dad's car gets a dent in it while he's at work.
Even during high school or college or university, I work hard and I get jinxed in some way! I get a 1st in my University course through three years of effort, but between those times, both my pets of 12 and 16 years get put to sleep, our family is going through financial troubles, my dad is diagnosed with Parkingsons disease and I end up almost having my presentation during my exhibition at Uni going botched.
I try on SO many occasions to try and do SOMETHING that I want to do to get somewhere and I either bring about bad luck. Meanwhile, I do NOTHING with my life, I accomplish nothing forward, don't move forward and keep that way and things go rather well for a day. Wow, thanks alot Universe. ¬_¬
Things really do suck right now. =_=
