Moving accounts to Cosmofoxen
Posted 11 years agoI'm going to start posting everything to
Cosmofoxen. There really is no need to keep a separate account just for photos plus it just plain confuses people.
Please follow me on the other account if you don't already! Thanks! ^.^

Overpacking sucks!
Posted 12 years agoWhy furries? Why must you travel around with every plushie you own? Well maybe not everybody but I’ve definitely seen a few do it. :)
One thing that I’m guilty of, and so are lots of others. is packing way too much crap when travelling to cons or events. Overpacking wastes time, money and space on items that will end up being useless on the trip. (Keep in mind even more time and effort will be wasted hauling that stuff back and unpacking it!) The easy way to avoid this is to think about what is actually needed and to make a plan. (That concept may cause some furries to burst into flames or explode!) And don’t wait until the last minute to pack!
Keep tabs on what is used! For the last few trips I’ve been keeping a scrap paper list of what was packed vs what was actually used.
For example this is some of the stuff that wasn’t used on my last trip: Too many socks/underwear , 2 shirts, extension cord, 1 power strip (of 2), camcorder, monopod, adapters, extra USB charger & cables. <- I actually weighed this stuff out of curiosity. It ended up being 9 pounds of useless bulk. I probably had about 10-15 pounds of crap I didn’t need altogether.
Packing lists have probably been done to death but I wanted to do one to share ideas and maybe get some new ones kicked back to me.
Current basic packing list:
* Sponge. (Why? Because sometimes hotel water pressure just plain sucks. It works better than a rag anyway.)
* Toothbrush/tooth paste/mouthwash
* Deodorant (Please?)
* 3oz each shampoo/bodywash (3oz each should be plenty)
* 1 Powerstrip /extension cord (coordinate with roommates in ref to items like power strips/extension cords no need for everyone to bring one.)
* Emergency Sewing kit (my “sewing kit” is a ziplock bag with black heavy duty thread, needles and a box cutter.)
* Eyeglass wipes (good for glasses and camera lenses)
* Small can of antibacterial spray (Fursuit disinfectant)
* USB cables and wall adapter
* Flashlight (I’ve actually needed this once due to power outage during a con)
* Fresh clothes for each day
* Travel pack of aspirin
* Ear plugs
- Dusty
Travel tip: Want to make your ride’s head explode? Wait until they come to pick you up THEN start packing. You will hear a sound like this: “HRGHRGHRGHRGRHRH OMGGGGG FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF” *boom*

Fangcon Thoughts
Posted 12 years agoI'm not one to write lengthy con reports but I did want to mention a thing or two about Fangcon. This is a small con and has a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere to it.
There was some talk about maybe changing the date for the con and I can see the appeal this has with some folks because of timing with other cons and events. I'm hoping it doesn't happen because this really works for me as a fall con and I also believe that as long as Fangcon keeps the same atmosphere it will grow despite those other events.
