just to clear something up
General | Posted 14 years agoAs it turns out, my most recent piece of art (what're you lookin' at pic) is rather similar to another piece done by another user on FA as pointed out by one of my friends. Let me clarify. I honestly don't have any idea how it happened. I don't copy and I hardly ever ref. I'm putting this one down to coincidence as I have never even seen the other art piece before. However, the other user has done this piece before I did so I will respect him. If anyone has any issue with my pic just tell me immediately and I will remove it at once. I'm hoping to avoid a copyright incident. Thanks all!
Paint tool SAI Y U NO make vector tool better?
General | Posted 14 years agoI swear, I am never using vector tool again. Doing lineart with vector makes drawings look worse for some reason. I know because I just ruined one of my drawings....-_-

I'm back, for real this time!
General | Posted 14 years agoI am so sorry that I have been gone so long. I know that my hiatus was twice as long as what I said it was going to be but I ran into a spate of bad luck that really tested me.
First was my Myanmar trip. It had to be cancelled halway through because two members of the team were injured in a boating accident that ended badly, so that was a bummer....
Then when I returned home my mother caught severe food poisoning and I had to spend the better part of a week caring for her alone because my dad was out of the country and my sister was taking part in a school camp. It was very tiring and I could not do anything but collapse in bed at the end of every day (She's better now though.)
Then, as icing on the cake, three days ago I was riding my bike and I tried to do a wheelie (probably not the best idea, in retrospect) and as expected, I fell off and injured my back. I thought it was fine until nighttime, when the pain in my back grew so agonising I could not walk. I had to be rushed to the accident and emergency and I spent two days in hospital drifting in a narcotic haze.
But as the old poem goes....
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
-Invictus
William Ernest Henley
This poem is about never giving up, and while I felt close at times, I managed to pull through.
So yeah. I'm back, no kidding, for realsies and I'll upload some art soon.
It's good to be back.

Ugggghhhh.....time for a short hiatus
General | Posted 14 years agoI won't be online or posting any art for the next week and a half or so.... First, i've come down with an eye infection of some sort and can barely see. Both my eyes are really swollen and whatnot and the medicine I am taking makes me really sleepy so i'm pretty much spending all day barely concious and I don't even have the strength to lift up my tablet pen, let alone draw.
Next, i am also going to be offline from the following friday to about wednesday because i am going overseas to myanmar to help rebuild an orphanage that got damaged in a fire. Nothing major and no one died but the building is barely standing so i'm gonna help repair it. I hope my eye infection subsides before then.
This is really funny huh? I come back from being offline for a week spamming diablo 3 and in a few days i catch some infection and must go offline again, not to mention my trip. Anyway, don't worry about me. I'll be fine. I'll see you guys in one and a half weeks okay?
XDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXD

You never feel it until it hits close to home.
General | Posted 14 years agoThe father of one of my friends just committed suicide. He apparently had gambling problems (damned casinos) and just could not take it anymore. I'm attending the funeral later today, and I just can't help but feel...
You read about suicides, people who throw themselves off buildings or slit their wrists or whatever all the time in newspapers. To us, they're names are just printed words on a page. Then someone you know does the unthinkable and it all suddenly becomes real. They person who passed is someone close, maybe your own flesh and blood. And you wonder how it could have all happened, how it could have spiralled out of control so quickly.
There is always another way....

Crazy incident...
General | Posted 14 years agoAn hour ago, I was at a food centre having dinner with a buddy and his girlfriend. I ordered lamb chop from a stall, and this meal came with a knife and fork (well, duh....*facedesk*).
Anyway, I was happily eating and chatting when I dropped my knife on the floor by accident. I picked it up, but I didn't want to use it again so I placed it on the table and went and got another one. I came back and continued eating when this middle-aged man came up to our table. He was one of those roving cleaners who push a cart around and clean up leftovers and plates and utensils etc.
Anyway, he comes up and begins cleaning the table next to us. When he was finished, he suddenly saw my the knife I dropped. He picked it up, and looked at it for a moment, then suddenly, he threw the knife at me.
When I say 'throw', I don't mean a limp toss. He literally threw the knife like it was a baseball. I tried to duck, but the knife hit my neck. Fortunately for me, it was one of those blunt butter knife sort of knife (if it was a steak knife I would probably be in hospital). Even so, the knife left a bruise.
By this time my friend had stood up and was ready to restrain the man if he tried anything else. However, the cleaner simply turned around and nonchalantly pushed the cart away. What made it even more bizarre was what he was doing as he left.
He was whistling a tune.

General | Posted 14 years agoWhat or who got you interested in the furry fandom? I'm just curious to know.
For me it was after I watched the movie Robin Hood (the animated one with the fox as Robin) but I never really got serious until I read the comic Cheap Thrills (a furry comic. Go check it out!) and stumbled across FA while surfing the net.

General | Posted 14 years agoI don't know if you guys know this but I actually work part time at a social work center as an assistant counselor. Anyway, a couple of hours ago I went to a halfway house for recovering drug addicts to help a guy who was having trouble settling in. That was the first time I went to that center and the sight was just overwhelming.
There were people who had just arrived who looked like zombies. They hadn't consumed any drugs for a while and the withdrawal was only starting to show. They just stared ahead and would not respond to questions. Some were hallucinating, and shouting for no reason.
Then there were also a few who had lost limbs or other body parts due to drugs, because the side effects caused their limbs to rot.
It was all so touching. These people who had lived in darkness for so long, and only now see the light.
Don't do drugs guys. It isn't worth it.

Well, that's just spooky.
General | Posted 14 years agoOkay, so I have a dog's playpen in my house. The name is in every way deceptive. It's not as much a playpen as a five foot by five foot aluminum jail cell where I let my dog sleep every night. Anyway, just this afternoon I put my dog in the playpen because he is not supposed to walk around too much for two week after his hip operation. After locking him in I went off to buy some Copic markers for a school art project. The rest of my family wasn't home. The playpen is secured by two deadbolts, one top and the other below. I only secured the top bolt because I thought it would be enough.
Two hours later I come back and... the playpen door is open and my dog is out and about.
I ask you, how on earth does a deadbolt become unsecured on it's own? Either my dog has suddenly developed telekinetic powers...or my house is haunted.
Of course, it's entirely possible that someone just jumped the fence and got into my yard and opened the playpen door. There are tons of people who would do random things like that where I live.

Update on my dog.
General | Posted 14 years agoWell, it turns out that my dog is going to he fine. He is having trouble walking still, but the operation was a success and the vet thinks that he won't need more than one.
Of course, we're $3000 poorer, but hey, who cares about money when you can have your dog back?

My dog is in trouble...
General | Posted 14 years agoOkay, apparently about an hour and a half ago, My sister was playing with my dog (a chocolate labrador by the name of Chester) by throwing a ball around for him to catch. And it was just raining so the yard was wet. And through an unfortunate stroke of luck my dog was trying extra hard to catch the ball (he always does that, bless him) when he slipped and fell. And it was only a few minutes later that we realised something was wrong with his hip. We quickly rushed him to the vet, who told us that he had put out his hip and that he would require surgery.
Now, we agreed, but these surgeries cost between $2500-$3000 a pop. That's no joke. And while we can afford it, the vet says that he might require more than one surgery, and we definitely can't afford that.
No, I'm not asking for money, nor is this an advertisment for commissions to pay for my dog's medical bills. All I'm asking you guys is to pray for my dog (if you believe in some religion) or wish him good luck, and that he won't need surgery more than once.
And if he really dosen't, I will be eternally grateful to all those who prayed or wished good luck or whatever.
I really do believe in the power of prayer....

When you ask for something from a friend.
General | Posted 14 years agoWhen you ask for something from a friend, he/she can respond in three different ways:
If he/she says yes, then they have granted your request.
If he/she says wait, then they are training your patience.
If he/she says no, then they have something better for you.
A friend of mine told me this at school today. Thought I'd share it.

General | Posted 14 years agoI'm really sorry if any of you have been spammed by my story journal i uploaded a couple of hours ago. For some reason Furaffinity decided to upload the same journal six times even though I only intended it to be uploaded once. So if your messages got spammed... sorry.
Again, any support on my upcoming story is greatly appreciated:)

I'm gonna try to write a story!
General | Posted 14 years agoIn addition to drawing I've always liked writing (I'm actually better at writing than drawing) so I thought I would try to give writing on furaffinity a shot. I've written on other websites (fanfiction, actually) so it shouldn't be that hard. I plan for my story to be a fantasy story, since I have the most experience writing in this genre. It's going to be long, so I'm gonna make it a series. I already drafted the first part so I'll probably have the it uploaded in a couple of days so go check it out if you are curious. And if you like it, be sure to tell other people cos' that always helps!
Thanks!
Thanks!

something I love about Furaffinity.
General | Posted 14 years agoThis has always amazed me since day one.
Furaffinity has NO trolls (or at least I haven't had the misfortune to meet one yet.)
It's pretty damn amazing. Before I came here I joined another online art gallery, I won't say which one. Suffice to say there were so many trolls there that made fun of or criticized my art. I'm pretty young, and I have very little experience with art softwares like photoshop and paint tool SAI and inkscape etc. etc. so most of the art I did was by hand. Those trolls there laughed at me and made me feel so inadequate that I gave up drawing for over two years. Only recently did I pick it up again and I must say I certainly made the right choice coming to furaffinity to display my creations. The furries here are so polite and respectful, and any criticism made is always constructive, to help you improve.
Good job furries, I'm really glad I came here. I'll be staying, that's for sure.

Depression
General | Posted 14 years agoThis is kind of embarrasing to admit but I just went into depression.
Why? Because of a webcomic. The comic is Concession by Immelman(I think that's how you spell his name?)
I always feel sad after finishing webcomics but this one made me feel like this much more strongly. I don't know. It's such a great comic, really well drawn, with a damned good plot, and I feel so sad that I finally finished it, that it's over and I won't get to read more about Joel and Angie and Dave and Matt and all the other characters in this damned fine webcomic.
So sad.
I've never felt this way before, even when I finished Fur-piled. Yes, finishing a webcomic always makes me feel sad, but this? I just can't stop the feelings of...I can't even describe it. It makes me wish that I lived in their universe, you know? That's how good the comic is.
Of course, if my previous self(before Concession) saw me in this state, he would bitch slap me and tell me to get over it.
I'm trying, okay?
Anybody got some Prozac?
If you guys want to, go check out the comic. http://concessioncomic.com/archives.php
That is, if you don't mind a comic with some mature themes and barely concealed sexual innuendo.
Oh, and, for those who read the comic and didn't feel anything, well, I'm damned jealous of you. Just saying.

Furry fests.
General | Posted 14 years agoYou know, I'm curious. Why are there hardly any LARGE furry events in Asia? I haven't even been to one despite having been a furry for four years. Just saying.
GROW UP FASTER DAMMIT SO THAT I CAN LEAVE HOME AND EARN MY OWN MONEY AND GO TO ANTHROCON OR SOMETHING. I HATE BEING SIXTEEN YEARS OLD!!! MY PARENTS WON'T LET ME GO TO ANY FURRY EVENTS!!!
(End of rant)
Ahhh, that was satisfying. I just needed to get that out of my system. I'm feeling much better now. Thanks.

Skyrim Crashes
General | Posted 14 years agoI have been a fan of all the Elder Scrolls series (I even played Daggerfall) but no Elder Scrolls game has given me as much trouble as Skyrim.
Why?
I don't know if it is the game or just my computer but...
IT KEEPS CRASHING!!!!!!!
I get a blue screen for every half-hour or so of play. I haven't installed any mods or whatever and I don't even use the developer console(because that would be cheating). I haven't done anything bizarre with the game(like glitch it on purpose or whatnot) so I have no clue what is causing these crashes.
My computer surpasses recommended system specifications so it can't be that either.
SO WHAT COULD IT BE?????
I don't have a clue.
Maybe the game doesn't like me.
That's always a possibility right?
I'm a Level 27 Argonian, if anyone's wondering.
