Hmm, yes.

First of all, I'd like to express my gratitude to each and every volunteer who has made Rainfurrest run in years past and continues to do so into the future. Without volunteers, we simply wouldn't have a convention.

That being said, we definitely needed more volunteers.


As a member of Theater staff, I can say that things went pretty smoothly in our department. We loaded in on Wednesday and loaded out on Sunday night both in record time, and I managed to enjoy my convention a whole lot more than I had in all years past.

The rest of the convention I've overheard was quite a different story. Lots of rumors, some confirmed by staff and Rainfurrest on their website (see the website for an open letter to all attendees) and one very mad hotel.

I implore any individuals who may have seen or heard something happen at Rainfurrest to say something about it. Report it to the convention. You can do so anonymously.

Don't like conventions? Don't bother coming to our events! Those who would intentionally vandalize property or perform acts that put our convention at risk, leave now. We don't want and or need you.


About the only negative experience I had was waiting for our hotel room. We had an 8-9 hour wait from initial check in, and we suspect the room we were originally going to get was changed in the middle of it. On the plus side, We ended up with a room right next to a stairwell that lead directly into the main hall of the convention. Great for a fursuiter like me!

What's your goal for the con this year?
I wanna make sure everyone has a fun time, including myself! I'm also hoping to place well in the Bowling Tournament on Sunday night.

Today is a very special day for me, as I've been without most of my fursuit for about 2 and a half weeks and I'm anticipating Fedex to deliver it back to me today!

Why was it gone? I sent it off to the original creator,  kodipup, for adjustments, improvements and cleaning. It'll be like a whole new fursuit without the huge investment!

So... for the entire time I've been in the fandom I've never gotten "adult" art of any character I have, especially my main character Eaite. After mulling the idea around, I'm thinking of getting some R+ art. What do you guys think?

I've seen other people work it so that there's a separate profile specifically for "naughty" pictures, and then the main account stays clean, and then of course some people just mix all their art into one profile.

I'm not thinking of anything too obscene or dirty, but what do you guys think?

So I've been making it a habit of going bowling every week on $1 wednesdays and bowling at least 2 games, whether I'm alone or with friends.

Last two weeks I've posted particularly good scores, I'm very proud considering the oil patterns by the time I get to them!

Hey everyone, a little update on day to day life.

Good news! I have the dates of BLFC taken off from work officially. Yay! One less thing I have to worry about in my quest to attend. I put in the time off a couple of weeks ago and hadn't heard anything until now. Big relief.

Second bit of good news: My schedule at work has changed in a way that they aren't begging me to go home early every day. In fact, occasionally I'm being asked to work a little extra. I've been looking to bolster my paychecks a little, and this will definitely help in getting my car in tip top shape.

Speaking of the wolf-mobile... I'm taking it in to have the water pump and timing belt replaced. I'm hoping there isn't too much more that needs to be done to make it worthy of Oregon roads. I have to get it registered next month at the very latest. That's the bit of bad news. I'm optimistic though!

I've gone and registered for the Biggest Little Furry Convention in the biggest little city in the world: Reno!

Having taken a look at my travel options, Driving seems to be the cheapest at this point. Is anyone from the Seattle/Portland area driving there and back? If so, I'd like to drive with you! I figure it will be a little safer and more fun driving with more than one car, plus we'll get the fun started even before the convention starts! How does that sound?

I apologize in advance for any poor grammar and spelling in the next couple paragraphs. This journal was composed at 4:00 AM just shortly after waking up. *zombie rat*

I feel compelled to write a journal this morning as I've seen and heard a lot of things going on in the last 3 to 6 months that make me quite concerned with the general mentality of our fandom. Make no mistake, this isn't an "I'm leaving the fandom" or "I'm leaving 'XYZ' website and going somewhere else" post. I just thought I'd share my thoughts and observations.

I've noticed a pattern within the community over the history of the fandom, particularly regarding those considered to be 'Popufur.' I will use the term Popufur to represent someone who has garnered the attention and adoration of more than 10-15% of the fandom at large.

Something happens. Something always happens, but more importantly something that someone does to this person happens and they end up spreading this happening to their closest friends, who then tell their closest friends, and the story starts devolving from there. Either that or someone does something that would be considered by the community to be a bad choice and a reflection upon themselves, and then a popufur points out the short-comings of said event.

In Either Case, someone gets called out directly or indirectly by the 'popufur' for being 'uncool' or is accused of being a bad person, or similar and a large group of people now have an understanding in their mind that they should be offended as well. So what do we all do? We take our grievances to the person who we're offended by. We now have the internet equivalent of a Lynch Mob.

Does it really matter if the person on the receiving end of the hate and bullying actually did anything wrong? No, not really. We're quite content to say mean things and make threats and put down this person without any research into the matter. To borrow a term from news anchors and disc jockeys, "if it bleeds, it leads" and if someone spins a tale the right way it gets a whole bunch of people whipped up into a frenzy.

Long story short: I've come to an understanding in the world that we are not perfect beings. We all have flaws and make mistakes. Some people do things that appear a bit dumber than others and I am not immune to such mistakes. There is no reason to call anyone out, put anyone down, or make threats against anyone even if it seems like a great injustice has been served.

Help fight against bullying, in real life and on the internet.

I had an odd realization just now while getting some nachos and salsa. Two days ago I had nachos and salsa, but the salsa didn't taste quite right.

Tonight, as I stared into the refrigerator, I observed there was a bottle of Prego Italian sauce sitting directly in front of the salsa. Tonight's nachos taste right again.

Furthering the science of fursuiting :3

I have a completed fursona! I finally got around to researching and writing down what my fursona looks like and how he acts. Please read on!

Name: Eaite (the Rat)

Species: Rattus norvegicus

Gender: Male

Age: 20

Orientation: Homosexual

Body type: Eaite is an average size and weight, with only light muscle tone in his arms and legs

Fur: His main fur colour is a golden orange with white markings. velveteen texture to it. The marking on his chest is in the shape of an upside down arrowhead with the corners pointing toward his shoulders. At the base of the arrowhead (top side) the marking sweeps up his neck and over the tip his muzzle to form the 'shaft' of the arrow. The marking continues along the top of his nose past his eyes and ends in a fine point between the ears. He also has a short tuft of white hair at the top of head between his ears. Eyes: Both eyes are a dark ruby colour (if cartoony, dark red irises). Often times he wears modern stylistic glasses or shades (depending on circumstance).

Ears: His ears are round and medium sized, but the left ear has a slight fold in it.

I'm pretty happy with the image of him that I have in my mind and I can't wait to commission an artist to bring him to life ^_^
