Wow. Almost 2 years since the last time i wrote a journal. Well, better late than never.

Well, lets be real here. Have had a really crazy past couple of years, and there were several things that I needed to take care of, both in my personal and financial life. Because of this, I just was too uninspired or depressed to even consider getting some new artwork rolling. Fortunately, I got my bearings in order, and I think its time to make some more art.

I've come to a point that I need to be organized in all aspects of life, and so, I'll be posting more art with the proper schedule.

Man it has been crazy. Almost 6 months since I last updated this journal. To be honest, I feel embarrassed, I know that you gay see me once in a while and certainly this has been the longest time since you last heard from me.

In the last couple of months I've been jumping from job to job and going to college, and it has been a very busy time for me. But I never forget about you guys...

You see, now I'm more aware of my talents as an artist and I've been aplying things more in public, which gives me less time to post stuff here.

But now its the time to get organized, to keep creating and evolving till I become the artist I need to become.

Well, coming to the end of this year has made a lot of changes for me. I'm happy for where I am, but not satisfied. I have taken big strides, but I have not finished my race. 2013 means a new challenge for me, but knowing that I can look that year straight in the eye and say "I'm ready man, come at me..." makes me feel both excited and scared and the same time.

You guys are the reason I keep coming back here. Your requests, comments and whatnots are always appreciated. Even the criticism I recieve have meant an effort to be better at what I love to do.

Ok,I've been settling down here for almost 2 weeks, and I gotta say, I'm starting to get the hang of it. I'm really getting short on money while still looking for a job, but for some reason, I'm not worrying. I almost got most of my stuff unpacked and I'm practically ready to resume on the rest of the work that I've had on hold for the past few weeks, so there'll be time for that as well

So far I've put a dozen or so of work applications, and got rejected by almost have of it openly. Last time I was here a couple of months ago I was able to almost land a job as tech support, if it wasn't for the fact that my HS Diploma was from Mexico, that SUCKED... Well, at least I got my GED so that's covered.

I think my biggest challenge will start in a couple of weeks though, but I'm not scared. I see this as a great opportunity to spread my abilities to the greatest of my capacity, and somehow, I know I can do it.

- 2 paquetes de masa para tamales
- 2 paquetes de manteca (2 lbs. cada uno aprox.)
- 2 sacos de harina de maíz (4 lbs. cada uno)
- 5 lbs. De carne
- 1/3 saco de papas
- 1 lb. Zanahoria
- Ajo
- 4 lbs. Chile pasilla ancho seco
- 4 lbs. Chile california seco
- Espauda
- 1 Frasco chico de aceitunas(10 oz.)
- 1 paquete de hojas para tamal
Herramientas sugeridas
- Papel encerado
- Una olla grande
- Heavy Duty Power Drill
Pasos
- Cocer de antemano la carne con un puño de sal, una cabeza de ajo a fuego alto por una hora y media. Cortar la carne antes de cocerla y taparla parcialmente. Guardar el caldo después del cocimiento.
- Cocer los chiles secos con 3 dientes de ajo por 20 minutos o hasta que se ablanden y saquen su sabor.
- Preparar una cubeta limpia. Dejar la manteca a la intemperie por 1 hora para dejar que suavize.
- Incorporar, con la ayuda del taladro, la masa para tamales, la manteca y dos puños de sal. Agregar poco a poco el caldo de la carne a velocidad baja. Agregar harina de maíz hasta que la mezcla quede uniforme, con la consistencia similar a peanut butter. Dejar reposar por media hora.
- Cortar papas, zanahoria y jalapeños (opcional) en tiras delgadas.
- Untar 2 cucharadas soperas en una hoja de tamal y agregar ingredientes. Envolver el tamal enrollado en papel encerado.
- Llenar olla con agua hasta la marca indicada, colocar lamina por arriba de esa marca. Agrega hojas de tamal al fondo.
- Colocar tamales en la olla con la punta expuesta inclinada hacia arriba. Llenar hasta el tope. Cocer de 1 hora a hora y media.
- Asegurese al abrir el tamal, no haya puntos blancos. Servir.

So leaving a place is getting a little bit tougher than expected. I guess a 11 hour drive takes more dedication and planning. So in order to make some extra dough, I'm gonna make some tamales.

Yep, I cook, and no, I don't expect any orders from you guys. But hey, some good ol' fashioned beef and pork tamales might be the extra edge to make my moving a reality.

So I finally got tired of staying here for around 7 years, so I'm about to leave... The state of Arizona. Seriously, did you think I would leave FA? Really? I mean, really?

So as it turns out, I want to move out of this place. I'm leaving in around 2 weeks without any looking back. I know is a very important and serious step, and I'm taking the proper measures, so now the only thing I need to settle for now is a place to live and a job.

If ya wanna know, I'm moving to Salt Lake City. I am so totally tired of living in the desert and my previous experience living in Idaho has taught me how to survive in the winter. Plus, having been accustomed to just pure heat, I want to go beyond my capabilities. See new horizons. Get new experiences.

That, and I really want to move out of my parents place. hehe...

So for the time being I will keep my phone and this laptop with me to keep up with everything. I might even be able to post a couple of photoshoped pictures. I have the scanner all packed up so some of my projects will be in a standby mode.

So I was browsing around checking some great fanart from Kung Fu Panda from , when I stumbled across , who had some rather interesting questions about the KFP universe, so I checked around in the KFP wiki page and coupled with some assumptions, I realized I could answer to some extent some of the questions that he had. You be the judge on how accurate could I be in these answers.

1.- How did Po know all about the "birds and bees" prior to his dad clumsily explaining it (Mr. Ping:"Well son, baby geese come from an egg. Don't ask me where the egg comes from!" Po: "Dad, that's not what I meant!")

A: If he's somewhat like my dad, he most likely already explained it to him, he just wanted to cop out by going on a tangent. That or he got word aroun d his friends on how the whole thing worked.


2.- What did occur when Tigress was a teen that resulted in her having a "crush on Shifu"- her own adopted father?

A: Lets keep in mind that when Shifu adopted Tigress, it was in the form of student-master relationship, instead of the traditional father-daughter. Shifu was obviously heartbroken for the "loss" of Tai Lung and he was not willing to let his feeling take over. Tigress explained this to Po in the first movie and was affected by it. That being said, since there was no fatherly figure in Tigress' life, despite living with Shifu, it's only natural that she viewed him as a friend (rather too serious, but friend indeed), it was easier for her to fall in a crush for him (I'm actually working on a mature picture about this topic, but that's for later).


How did Tigress wind up at the orphanage?

A: In a recent KFP Legend of Awesomness episode, Tigress is left in charge of babysitting a duckling who was left alone. She was reminded of how some mysterious figure left her in the orphanage as a cub before Shifu found her. That's as far back as we can see for now, and hopefully Dreamworks will shed more light to this topic.


How did Monkey not get kicked out of the Jade Palace if he's just as much of a goof off as Po?

A: Two major factors: First, despite him being the most easygoing of the five, he still keeps his seriousness when training and/or fighting. This is shown in the first movie and when fighting the wolfpack in the second movie. No laughter, no witty remarcs, no nothing, only fighting. Secondly, who would you rather have by your side in a fight, someone whom seems to be training all his life, or someone that looks like hasn't it the gym in his entire life? 'nough said.


If inter-species relationships and marriages occur in the KFP universe- do inter-species breeding also occur?

A: I can see from which episodes are you basing this argument and my answer come from only observation. I honestly cannot picture a hybrid between pig and goose, and I guess just for the sake of that, the offspring must be from a single species. Sure, some fans would like some Pangers and Tindas (Panda-Tiger hybrids), but I just do see it happening. Of course this could be a reasonable explanation for white tigers.


What was Tigress going to confess to Po on that boat in KFP 2?

A: According to the KFP official wiki, Tigress was so impressed about the fact that everyone looked at her as someone with no feeling. Maybe to disproove this argument?


What occurred between KFP 1 and 2 that resulted in Tigress barely tolerating and respecting Po- to where in KFP 2 they are the best and closest of friends- so much so that Tigress seems to be make physical contact with Po every 5 minutes?

A: I have a theory in the Timeline order of all the KFP publications, both movie, series and comics, which puts The Legends of Awesomeness between KFP and KFP2, giving a gap of around 1 to 2 years between the two movies. If you look closely in the Legend of Awesomness, Tigress still looks at Po with some disgust, particularly in the episode when she and Po must work toghether and end up cuffed to each other. This episode in particular explains the initial feelings from Tigress point of view, and is worth watching just for that insight. The ending is stisfying enough and kinda works as a catalyst for their relationship in KFP2.


And finally the greatest unanswered question in the KFP-verse- How the hell do Tigress' sandals stay on her feet with no visible straps?

A: Not even Dreamworks could answer that I'm afraid. Or maybe they could, who knows...

Ok, so now things are going on track way better than the last time I wrote in this journal. The good thing is that I'm getting the hang of most of my works and concepts, so you my firends will see them moreoften in a more refined manner.
Also, I finally got the problem fixed with my tablet, so better coloring and better inking are bound to happen anytime soon. Which gets me more stocked on the future it holds for my work here. And not only here, but this also means expanding my work into both my Deviantart account and even gets me tempted to even expand to Inkbunny for those foreing to this webpage.
So about the second challenge. For those who just tuned in my first challenge was to make and share 12 pictures featuring the characters in the segment from Fun and Fancy Free known as Bongo the Bear. The second challenge is going to be rather more expansive, since it not only involves a movie, but also a sequel, a videogme and a whole series based on it. Some of you may say this series is rather overabused, but I beg to differ. Besides This is one of my favorite contemporary movie series ever.
Guess which one I'm talking about? Nah, I'm not giving any more clues, but I'll tell you this for sure: This project will include around 30 pictures, more or less, so you better be prepared for a marathon of artistic proportions.

So I was trying to ink and color a piece of work in one of my projected pictures when I realized that my tablet was not working. Of course is a intuo 3 on a Windows 7 and kinda has some problems. Nevertheless this clearly means that I either have to do every digital coloring by mouse (which personally is quite a drag considering I'm not used to that) or have the coloring by traditional mediums, like colored pencil (which is easier to control but takes so much time for my taste) or markers (which I'm so not used to but seems like fun). So if anything, I'll try to keep up despite these personal challenges, even to try digital without a tablet.

Who knows, maybe I'll even be good at it...

I've felt more compeled to work in my artwork for quite sometime lately, specially since I left my second job for good. I mean, working two jobs and only getting 4 hours of sleep and 3 hours in between to shower, eat and get ready for the next one was getting the best of me. The real thing is, I didn't even need the other job in the first place. It was the job I had for 2 years and by this time I was just getting tired of it. Then I found a better paying job and I got greedy, thinking I could easily get the money I wanted, and it worked at first. But there was no way I could take an actual break from all of it.

So I finally presented my resignation and I've never felt better in my life. Sure, money doesn't come by as much as before but at least I can focus my time on the things I love. So making artwork is gonna be one of those things I will be doing more often.

As of right now, I'm going to tke away my pictures that so far I've posted, but not to worry this is just a momentary setback and I have a very good reason for this, or rather some good reasons:

1) I have recieved some complaints about my work looking somewhat "cubby" in style and that is definitely something I will not stand by. My work was never intended to look in that style in the first place and I already posted earlier that I will not do such requests of that nature. By me holding this pictures in the site I would be considered a hypocrite and I will not stand for it.

2) Unless characters are not doing anything that resembles adult situations I wont depict this characters in their original form (and by original form I mean their complection). Therefore, I will continue with the Bongo de Bear project, or rather reboot the project with the characters in a more appealing form.

So don't you worry, this is just a temporary setback and you will see COMPLETED works of this already posted sketches. Hope you will understand and I hope you'll apreciate the end product.

I just saw an episode of the new Kung Fu Panda series and I'm actually liking it. Its sticking to the action and the goofiness we all love and appreciate. One thing tha caught me off guard was some piece of dialogue that happened in one of the episodes.

Supposedly Po is cloaking himself disguised as a sheep with the help of a certain stone. While going undercover, Po faces with Monkey and Tigress and Po tries to convince them that he really is him. In order to do so he tells them certain things they only know about themselves, something that they would only tell in secret, and shockingly, Tigress' secret stuck me the most: (Actual dialogue) Po: "Tigress, you told me that when you were a teenager you had a crush on Shifu".... '_'.....'_'

I know for a fact that most crushes dally along for a long time, so I can safely say that there is a possibility that Tigress still has said crush on her master. And therefore, there is no way to say it better..., well there is but I will be blunt in this case. FREAKIN' MASTER TIGRESS LOVES SHIFU!!!!!!!! SHE LOVES DILF's!!!!! OMG...

I don't know about you, but this really makes me wonder what can be done about such sensitive information? Whaever we do in such a webpage about art... Make pictures about such dark and quite frankly, peculiar situation.

So as I was saying in my first journal entry, I've managed to program myself into working my projects according to the media they come from. First on the list is 20th century movies. Case in point, Bongo the Bear from Fun and Fancy Free. Some of you guys have already saw an introductory picture to one of the main characters and you'll see some more. Of course the possibilities are endless when it comes to what to draw and in what situations. For the sake of time and space, I will stick to 12 drawings minimum on each subject matter.

To this end, I've come to realize what categories should I use in order to make this album in particular something worthwhile making and pretty much I have an idea of what am I going to use.

Of course with these guidelines there are two rules that I'm sticking to when making these projects:

-Rule 1.- No crossovers. No matter how hot the concept of having Lola Bunny and Krystal from Star Fox being together sound like, unless I have a COMPREHENSIVE or UNDERSTANDABLE reason on how or why those two universes are together. I will not bother on working with.
The exceptions to this rule is when either a crossover featuring these characters had already happened (like the Marvel vs Capcom universe), or if both Universes belong to the same company (Like the Disney universe)
-Rule 2.- No fetishes. Granted there is almost no activity whatsoever that even implies to the public any inappropriate conduct. But there is a difference between a loving couple in a passionate embrace and going all of a sudden to "sexy farting", vore and stuff like that.Unless something really indicates me the possibilities otherwise(rarely actually happens) I just dont like to wonder into strange waters.

So there you have it. This is basically what I aim for in my working, and hopefully this will get stuff done faster.

I was just flipping to the channels on tv recently and I noticed something interesting. Johny Test was on and I just saw an episode of an alternate dimension featuring a rule 63 universe, complete from female versions of Johny and Duckey to a male version of his sisters.

That got me thinking about how lately some other franchises are starting to exploit the rule 63 on tv and comics now. Some of us remember Roudyruff boys from the Powerpuff girls, and even recently there was the episode known as Adventure time with Fiona and Cake, some of you might even heard about the reboot for DC's Green Lantern that will feature a female version of the same.

Is it just me, or is the media starting to exploit this principle a little bit more often than before? If that is so, what would be next? My Little Pony? Pokemon?
