Posted 12 years agoYes, I'm pimping a webcomic. Deal with it. If nothing else, check out this awesome live improv reading of the first one hundred pages, which is the Nightmare Moon arc. The uploader does some pretty spot on impressions and this way you don't have to READ the first 100 pages.

Posted 12 years agoOkay, so I'm a big fan of good covers, and this... this really grew on me after a friend introduced me to Andrew Denton's Tripple-M Musical Challenges. This is a series where Denton would challenge musicians to cover a song that was of a style or content not normally associated with the artist. Rolf Harris' cover of the Divinyl's hit, I Touch Myself was... odd and hilarious.
Nothing fancy here, just the original, followed by the cover in question. The original is Puddle of Mudd's hit, Control. And yes, this charted to no.1 in the Australia, Europe, U.K. and the U.S. and (apparently) was the theme song for the 2001 WWF Survivor Series.
It's covered by Adam Brand, and Australian Country singer who has charted well here in Oz. Well, in the Country charts, any way. So if you've never heard of him, don't feel bad. This was the first I'd heard of him too.

Posted 12 years agoApparently, the fact that I haven't had a steady girlfriend in over ten years is PROOF POSITIVE that my homosexuality was JUST A PHASE and that I should really grow up and realize that. MY MOTHER, who could make time for so much as a FUCKING PHONE CALL on my BIRTHDAY, finally called me up a 6AM IN THE FUCKING MORNING to tell me this, ten days after my birthday.
Oh, apparently there's this nice guy called Stephen, the son of one her friends, that would be just perfect for me.
I'm currently torn between screaming with rage and crying my eyes out. This, after being run off my feet for over a week by work and study, which leaves almost no room for a real social life, my mother decides to hit me with this pearl of infallible logic.

Pros
All the well-wishing I got here on FA. Thank you everyone for helping brighten this day for me.
Two awesome art gifts. (One is this piece from fc32, the other was from 
Gingerm, who commissioned FC.)
A couple of my friends came around with pizza and beer and shot the breeze with me.
Cons
Work calling up to try and get me to do a pick-up shift. I know that when someone calls in sick at the last minute it's a mad scramble to find a replacement, but come on! It's my freaking birthday.
Mum didn't even call or drop me an email. I know that we're not close, but for fuck sake.
Now I go to sleep, as I need to be up early for a scheduled shift tomorrow morning. I'll upload the second picture some time tomorrow.

Lt. Diana Gidding, who I simply knew as "the redhead in the mini-skirt" for a long time.
Ensign Sonya Gomez, who people might remember better as a certain prostitute in Total Recall. (The first one, not the abortion that recently came out.)
Of course, there was Ensign Robin Lefler. Pro: Played by Ashley Judd. Con: Had a thing for Wesley.
Ensign McKnight, Ensign (later Lieutenant) Allysa Ogawa.

Posted 12 years agoI've been looking at my profile image and my Ref Sheet (Thanks again to fc32), and something has me concerned. My turn-ons and turn-offs are listed as likes/loves and dislikes/hates, and I'm concerned that I'm coming across as a bit of the "man-hating dyke", at least to the casual observer.
What do people think? Should I see about editing them a little?
