Posted 13 years agoThe SEA-ME-WE 3 undersea cable was cut over a week ago and SingTel, the company that administers it, still isn't giving an explanation or a time frame one when service can return. It means that people in Perth are suffering slow connections to anywhere outside Australia, with one of my friends reporting that a game he plays has gone from a ping of 80-90, to around 350-400. We're also getting drop-outs, with browsers often failing to locate servers. Trying to route our traffic through the eastern states is problematic because, we don't have a spare 480 Gbits/s of connectivity with them.
Yes, we've lost 480 Gbits/s of connectivity with the rest of the world, leaving our direct link via the JASURAUS cable and it's anemic 1.1 Gbits/s. The Eastern States have been hit by this, but not as severely, as this reduces their connectivity down to around 3,000 Gbits/s. This disparity actually favors Western Australia, as we certainly have less that 12% of the national population.
What this mean for this Tigress (who's connection is shoddy due to hir motherboard's quirks) is that the internets is brokeneded.

Posted 13 years agoYes, it's another Symphonic Metal band. Shut up and listen, because this is Krypteria, a German band fronted by Asian hottie, Ji-In Cho. Yes, yes, I know that it's another Euro-band. Can I help it if all the good FFM (Female Fronted Metal) comes from there? And get used to it, my next two are German, so we're going to be in the region a while.
Like so many of these ladies, Ji-In Cho has a classical background and studied Music at the Cologne Music Academy.
