Anachronistic Sky Pirates! (With LINKS!!)
Posted 13 years agoTake a look at this pic and tell me that that does not look awesome. It is six members of The Black Swans flying their Curtiss-Wright J2 Furies, from the old FASA boardgame, Crimson Skies.
Now, some of you may know of Crimson Skies from the computer games, but it originated as an after-hours project at FASA that got released as a board game. Now, I was on a very strict budget when it came out, and by the time I could afford it, it was no longer available. So I would to ask all of you, you people who watch me for reasons that I cannot fathom, if anyone knew where I could get my hands on a PDF copy of the rule set, or even (one could only dream) the box set itself.
The sad part is, the game only "failed" because when FASA closed it's doors in 2001, the license languished a bit and Wizkids, as it did back then, tried to make it yet another collectable miniatures game, like they did with every single license they had. This, of course, failed. Just like all the other lines. But unlike those lines, there wasn't a large body of fans screaming for the "classic" rules to be continued.
Ironically, I do have a copy of the unpublished Zeppelins and Bombers supplement, which finished up the rule set nicely. You can get your own free, and legal, copy here.
What I am missing is, from what I can tell, (EDIT: My friend Weldun e-mailed me these mediafire links. Thanks a lot, sweetie. Your Google-fu is strong!))

Posted 13 years agoI'm rather pleased with my current playthrough.
You began your journey as a human, but gave that up as you explored the dangers of this realm. You are a 6 foot 3 inch tall dragon-girl, with a somewhat narrow body and a decent amount of visible muscle. You are currently wearing your spider-silk robes and using your eldritch staff as a weapon. Your face is fairly human in shape, but is covered in light scales. It has a beautiful, feminine shapeliness that's sure to draw the attention of males. The obscenely long, red hair on your head is parted by a pair of cute pointed ears, bigger than your old human ones. Your mouth contains a thick, fleshy tongue that, if you so desire, can telescope to a distance of about four feet. It has sufficient manual dexterity that you can use it almost like a third arm. Two pairs of horns, roughly a foot long, sprout from the sides of your head. They sweep back and give you a fearsome look, almost like the dragons from your village's legends.
You have a humanoid shape with the usual torso, arms, hands, and fingers. Magnificent wings sprout from your shoulders. When unfurled they stretch further than your arm span, and a single beat of them is all you need to set out toward the sky. They look a bit like bat’s wings, but the membranes are covered in fine, delicate scales and a wicked talon juts from the end of each bone. You have noticeable thighs that draw the attention of those around you, and your shapely, chiseled bottom fills out your clothing nicely. A thin, scaly, prehensile reptilian tail, almost as long as you are tall, swings behind you like a living bullwhip. Its tip menaces with spikes of bone, meant to deliver painful blows. Two digitigrade legs grow down from your girly hips, ending in clawed feet. There are three long toes on the front, and a small hind-claw on the back.
You have two wobbling breasts, each supporting one 2-inch nipple. You could easily fill a big G-cup bra.
Your distended, vine-shaped cock is 13.5 inches long and 2.3 inches wide. The entirety of its green surface is covered in perspiring beads of slick moisture. It frequently shifts and moves of it's own volition, the slightly oversized and mushroom-like head shifting in coloration to purplish-red whenever you become aroused.

Posted 13 years agoRIGHT NOW, SOMEONE IS READING THIS JOURNAL ENTRY.Just because I want to.
The first one is the official music video, in all it's awesomeness. The second is an Anime Music Video (AMV) that I came across shortly after it debuted in 2001, and I was struck with how clever it was, mimicking the original almost beat for beat. Doki Doki Productions are among the best in the game and are still around. You can check them out here. Most People Come For The Videos and it's a shame that they are so aware of that fact, but haven't made a new video since 2009.
And yes, I wish the Naru-tards would SHUT UP. You're worse the the DBZ fans ever were. We get it. You love the show and that's awesome. But please shut up about how Goku/Naruto/

Posted 13 years agoOkay, leaving aside the fact that I’m not into guys, I get annoyed with some of the choices in games. I don’t know what it is, but it often seems like the developers intentionally make the most desirable female completely unobtainable. Understand that in many of these games, I had to look up who the token romance was with because I was playing a female character (when that was an option at all) and was too busy fending off the advances of men.
Neverwinter Nights 2: Neeshka and Qara are both self-entitled brats and Elanee… ugh. No, I was more interested in Shandra Jerro who, of course, pulls an Aeris. I had a resurrection scroll RIGHT THERE. (Scripted deaths in games with resurrection are another issue). Failing that, the Captain of the City Watch, Brelaina. I always played my character, knowing that I wouldn’t get a satisfactory romance option, as having been secretly in love with childhood friend, Amie Fern. And that, after her demise early in the game, was still mourning her and not interested in romance, with Shandra finally starting to break through when she dies. Nicely tragic for my Drow Paladin.
Dragon Age - Awakenings: Okay, in Origins, Leliana is sweet and sexy. No doubt. And Morrigan is a shrew. But come awakenings I’m presented with Sigrun who my Dwarven PARAGON doesn’t get a second look from. *sigh*.
Dragon Age II: Now, Isabela was a fiery temptress, but I knew that I’d never get her to “settle down” and Merril is delightfully awkward, but the blood magic… it’s a problem. I wanted Aveline. They even go so far as to keep giving you romantic conversation options AND have her ask if you’d ever thought about the two of you hooking up, only to not pay off. GRRR.
Knights of the Old Republic: Mission Vao. That is all.
Knights of the Old Republic II: Mira combined a tough, no-nonsense approach with a vulnerability that made her infinitely more interesting that Brianna or Visas Marr.
Mass Effect: Honestly, none of the Normandy’s crew appealed to me. Ashley was just a little too… mouthy and Liara was just too naïve. And Tali is too much the “little sister.” The only character who caught my eye was Capt. Maeko Matsuo at Port Hanshan
Mass Effect 2: Okay, Yeoman Kelly Chambers won me over. Miranda’s too “I have to be perfect, which is impossible, oh woe is me in my less-than-perfect badassery.” Liara’s gotten a little scary and while Tali has grown up, her inability to see that the “Morning War” was a mistake irked me too much. So, by the time she starts coming around, I’ve left it too late. I actually really liked Jack, but she didn’t swing that way. And Samara was too “ethereal” in demeanor.
Mass Effect 3: Ashley is far less annoying in once sense, but her constant questioning and lack of trust were major turn-offs. Liara and Tali have both grown up buy I’ve missed my chance. Sapphire, of the Thieves Guild, of course. Rawr.

Neverwinter Nights 2: Neeshka and Qara are both self-entitled brats and Elanee… ugh. No, I was more interested in Shandra Jerro who, of course, pulls an Aeris. I had a resurrection scroll RIGHT THERE. (Scripted deaths in games with resurrection are another issue). Failing that, the Captain of the City Watch, Brelaina. I always played my character, knowing that I wouldn’t get a satisfactory romance option, as having been secretly in love with childhood friend, Amie Fern. And that, after her demise early in the game, was still mourning her and not interested in romance, with Shandra finally starting to break through when she dies. Nicely tragic for my Drow Paladin.
Dragon Age - Awakenings: Okay, in Origins, Leliana is sweet and sexy. No doubt. And Morrigan is a shrew. But come awakenings I’m presented with Sigrun who my Dwarven PARAGON doesn’t get a second look from. *sigh*.
Dragon Age II: Now, Isabela was a fiery temptress, but I knew that I’d never get her to “settle down” and Merril is delightfully awkward, but the blood magic… it’s a problem. I wanted Aveline. They even go so far as to keep giving you romantic conversation options AND have her ask if you’d ever thought about the two of you hooking up, only to not pay off. GRRR.
Knights of the Old Republic: Mission Vao. That is all.
Knights of the Old Republic II: Mira combined a tough, no-nonsense approach with a vulnerability that made her infinitely more interesting that Brianna or Visas Marr.
Mass Effect: Honestly, none of the Normandy’s crew appealed to me. Ashley was just a little too… mouthy and Liara was just too naïve. And Tali is too much the “little sister.” The only character who caught my eye was Capt. Maeko Matsuo at Port Hanshan
Mass Effect 2: Okay, Yeoman Kelly Chambers won me over. Miranda’s too “I have to be perfect, which is impossible, oh woe is me in my less-than-perfect badassery.” Liara’s gotten a little scary and while Tali has grown up, her inability to see that the “Morning War” was a mistake irked me too much. So, by the time she starts coming around, I’ve left it too late. I actually really liked Jack, but she didn’t swing that way. And Samara was too “ethereal” in demeanor.
Mass Effect 3: Ashley is far less annoying in once sense, but her constant questioning and lack of trust were major turn-offs. Liara and Tali have both grown up buy I’ve missed my chance.
