Today is a happy day :)
Posted 12 years agoToday is my very first wedding anniversary with my amazing husband :)
I know he's not an FA member....yet, but he often creeps my page and reads my journals, so I just wanted to post a little something here for him.
Thank you for choosing me, for waiting for me all those years that I was an idiot for staying that horrible relationship. Thank you for taking care of me while I was sick for so long and making the hour long bike trip just to come see me in the hospital every day. Thank you for sticking by me through all of my family drama, my horrible insecurity and mood swings, and emotional issues. For hoarding all of your own spending money just to get enough to get me a pretty ring. Thank you for asking me to be yours and not laughing too hard at me when I cried like a little baby in happiness. Thank you for taking care of me while I suffered the effects of morning sickness, reassuring me when I was unhappy about the changes in my body during my pregnancy and reminding me that I was still beautiful to you, no matter how big my belly got. Thank you for rubbing my back and feet when they hurt, going out at all hours of the night to get the food I craved and for making our wedding everything I hoped it would be.
Thank you for being my friend, my shoulder to cry on, the father of my amazing child and most of all, my best friend.
But most of all, thank you for being mine.
Here's to many more amazing years together.
(Just a note, not all of these things happened while we were married, some were before, but I still count them ^_^)

Moving
Posted 12 years agoSo as of this weekend I'll be without internet for a short while, since we'll be officially moved over this weekend, and due to Easter, Shaw will be closed.. So we won't be able to get a tech over to switch our phone/internet til at least Tuesday. Gahh..
Well, at least I'll be able to unpack without distractions.

IN THREE DEE!!!
Posted 12 years agoIn all seriousness though, I've been taking some lessons in 3D rendering, and once I improve (my work at the moment is abysmal), I'm thinking about doing some 3D character modeling... If I were to start taking commissions for 3D character models, would that be something any of you would be interested in?
Drugs and Tumblr and Minecraft, oh my!
Posted 12 years agoWell, the lemon trick seems to have worked, my mouth is not nearly as swollen as it was. (Still a bit swollen and irritated, but to expect anything less would be stupid) Also the painkillers I was given are AMAZING. I'm missing not being stoned outta my tree though >.<
The meds make me loopy.
But anyway, in case you don't follow me already, just a reminder that I have a Tumblr! Here it is ---> www.askenderkin.tumblr.com
Also just another reminder that I now have a Minecraft server running for all my babyfur/diaperfur/general furry friends :) To avoid randoms/griefers/spammers I have to approve all new players, but if you're interested just send me a message and I'll give you our server address :D
The server runs all the time unless I leave the house with my laptop (which is usually only to go to school and only for three hours a day) so even if I'm not playing, you can sign on and play :)
I'm still going to be a bit too busy to post anything but small, quick drawings, since I'm moving next week, but while relaxing in the evenings I've been doing a lot of doodling. I'm hoping to get our internet hooked up at the new place pretty quickly so I'm hoping there won't be too long of a hiatus when I move.
That's all for now.
Ta! :3

Fuuuuuuuuuudge Muffins. [UPDATE]
Posted 12 years agoSo, it turns out that I somehow have a stone in my saliva gland, and the swelling was from backed up saliva. Yucky.
But all I have to do is suck on some lemons, to generate enough spit force to push the stone out. If that doesn't work I'll have to get it probed (which will be painful, I can imagine), but I'm hopeful about the lemon solution.
So, goodbye to my sense of taste for a while.
Wish me luck!

Posted 12 years agoLuck just does not seem to like me or something. Just when it looks like things are finally starting to go my way, life has to crap all over me :(
I was still riding the high of finally getting into housing and getting my life in order/doing well in school, when a few days ago I woke up with a small lump in my cheek. Thought I'd bitten my cheek while I slept, as it happens often. (My jaw is too small for my teeth, I actually had to have four teeth pulled and have braces when I was younger to make them all fit, even now it's kinda iffy) But, as the days went by it got bigger, more swollen and more painful. Then just last night the swelling began to spread into my jaw, neck and gums. I have pain in my ear, neck, jaw, cheek, gums and teeth. Lucky me. I haven't been able to eat or brush my teeth because I can hardly open my mouth without agonizing pain, and I've been unable to sleep because all of the pain/swelling is on the side of my head that I like to sleep on.
LIFE! Y U NO LIKE ENDERKIN!?
So, I'm just awaiting my mother to take me to my family doctor (hopefully he can tell me what's going on and what I need, since I don't have a family dentist anymore now that he retired). If my doctor can't help me, then down to the emergency room I go! Thank goodness for free healthcare...
If I end up with painkillers/drugs/surgery/drugsfromsurgery, I look forward to the hilarious drawings I'll be almost guaranteed to do when I'm stoned off my ass. It happened the last time I was on painkillers (Kidney Stone surgery).
So to keep myself in good spirits, I've been Minecraft-ing (cause it's totally a verb now) and doodling. Don't expect to see anything with serious effort put into it from me until I find out what's going on.

The Minecraft Server is now open
Posted 12 years agoAnyone who wants to join, PM me for the server address. I'll be on until approximately 1 am (it's currently 11:47 pm where I am). While I do have to sign off at that time, I'll likely leave it running until I leave for class in the morning at 11 am.
Minecraft
Posted 12 years agoI'm starting up a small server exclusively for any FurAffinity users who want to join, and it should be up by tonight. However I'll need to approve you before you can play because we don't want friends inviting friends inviting friends, as the server is hosted on one of our home PC's, and we don't want it overloaded. (Plus, friends invited by other friends may not get along with everyone, we're trying to keep our griefers/trolls, etc etc...) I'm going to keep it restricted to those who watch me or I watch only I think.. There might be exceptions, but we'll see.
The server will likely run continuously, even when I'm not online, so you won't have to wait til I'm playing to get online.
Anyone who is interested, note me and I'll get back to you with the server address and the opening time if you're approved.
Hope to see you there! ^__^

Well then
Posted 12 years agoSo my art will not be returning as quickly/frequently as I thought, but it's not a bad thing!
In fact, shortly after I posted my last journal and finished my recently posted commission, I got the news that my family has FINALLY been accepted into social housing after nearly two years of struggling financially. While I would much rather have a house than another apartment, it will definitely help my family out. Now we'll actually be able to afford to put money away for a house deposit and actually replace some of our old, crappy furniture, rather than just hoping we have enough money to make it month to month. So, while I'd very much like to be drawing, I've been spending all of my time packing, and chasing after my little one, who is now mobile. (I never knew how fast babies could actually crawl!) This will be a bit of a blessing for us until I finish my schooling and can get a real job to support us, since my husband can't work. I don't mind though, I go a bit stir crazy being at home all day. I like working.
I'll be trying to finish up any projects/commissions/tumblr answers that I have on the go, but since moving day is less than a month away, my bits of spare time will likely be few and far between. I'll do my best though, and once everything is all set up at the new place and we're all unpacked, I'll be working my little green butt off to get everything done and spam your inboxes with arts :D

Just a little rant here
Posted 12 years agoI posted this on Facebook earlier today and it got a pretty positive reaction. Thought I'd share here too.
I was having a conversation today when Cuts4Bieber was brought up. It reminded me of a remark someone once made regarding it, that "People shouldn't post that kind of thing on the internet because a child might see it, and children aren't mature enough to know better". So while Cuts4Bieber is old news by now, I think that the point I'm about to make is still relevant.
First of all, if your child is not mature enough to see something on the internet without trying it, even if it involves self-harm, your child is not mature enough to be on the internet. I understand that there are websites geared specifically to children, but letting a young child on the internet unsupervised and expecting them to not end up on something inappropriate eventually, is like dropping a child off in the center of the busiest part of the city saying "Bye, have fun, I'll be back in two hours!" and expecting them to still be there, having not moved and had no interactions with anyone by the time you get back. Kids wander. Kids click things they shouldn't. That's how kids are.
Second, it is not the internet's responsibility to monitor what your children go on, while online, any more than TV providers are responsible for what your children watch. It is your job as a parent to make sure that your kids stay on appropriate sites and that they are not watching or surfing inappropriate material. If your child is too young to understand that they shouldn't do something just because someone online says they should, your child is too young to be online unsupervised. Do your job as a parent to make sure that they are safe and supervised. And if you can't always watch them, then teach them what is appropriate and what isn't, teach them to be safe online and not to believe everything they read on the internet.
Parents who blame people online, or the internet in general for the inappropriate things their kids come across and say that the internet should be made kid friendly, are the same kinds of people who complain about something their child watched on Family Guy, while making no effort to prevent their kid from watching it in the first place.
There are billions of people online. They are not going to censor every little thing they do because you can't be bothered to actually parent your kid and pay attention to what they are doing and the kid MIGHT see what they posted.
Be a responsible parent and pay attention to your kids.
/End Rant
TL;DR version: Be a parent and take responsibility for your kids. Don't expect a TV or computer to do that job for you and then complain about the results.

Computer issues... [RESOLVED]
Posted 12 years agoWell, the move to the new computer was a success and everything is running wonderfully. The problem with the old laptop has also been resolved, but since this new one runs my art programs (and my awful Minecraft addiction) so nicely, I'm sticking with this one.
My apologies for the delay in art and for the lateness to anyone I owe commissions.
The college is closed for March break this week, which means I don't have to go to class, so I'll be hauling my little green butt to finish them this weekend and have them finished and delivered before Monday, as well as answering all of the questions in my Tumblr inbox, and get some new artwork posted here.
Thanks to everyone for your patience :D

Computer issues.. [UPDATE]
Posted 12 years agoSo it turns out that my entire problem is a corrupted driver for my laptop's OS. Some automatic update screwed it up, but it can only be fixed with a fresh resinstall. However, my husband got a new laptop today, and his old one is better quality than the one I'm currently using, so I'll be transferring everything over to his old one and giving this one (once fixed) to my sister... So while this does still put a short delay on my finishing commissions and other projects, once everything is moved over I'll be able to make better progress since the computer I'll be using will actually be able to handle all of my art programs and the proper drivers for my tablet without lag, crash problems and just general suckery.
The move should be done by tonight, so I'll be firing up my tablet and finishing up any commissions owed and also answering my as yet unanswered Tumblr questions.
Sorry for the delays everyone >.<

Computer issues..
Posted 12 years agoAlright so....
Apparently some file in my computer decided to randomly become corrupted, and my laptop, which was working fine a month ago, has decided to crash repeatedly.. while I could deal with a daily crash (being a parent has instilled me with a lot of patience), what I can't deal with is the fact that I can't open pretty much any program on this machine except interenet explorer and Minecraft without the application crashing and then my computer shutting down.
So, it looks like I have to salvage the files I can (art, writing, etc) and do a full wipe and then restore of my system.
It really sucks and will take forever since I have no flash drives, or external/portable harddrives, and the only way I can save my files is to transfer them to my husband's computer and hope mine doesn't crash while doing so.
To anyone who is waiting on a commission from me I apologize, but it looks like you may have to wait another day or two before I can finish. SAI, Photoshop, and Flash are all on the list of programs that keep crashing... the only one that will open is MS Paint, and I refuse to use that at all.
Muuuuuuhhhhhhhhh.
