Fursuit photos
Posted 11 years agoGoing to post this over on NSFurs forum as well. I really want some good pics of my new suit head done by 
shagpoke Shagpoke (since my old head had gotten a little service dog puppy chewed and worn out. Going to keep it. Good memories in that head!)
I was hoping for some good photos from the BBQ but Gilby and I arrived a little late. :/
So my thought was calling about to some of the pet photographers and seeing if they'd be willing to do an hour or so of big, fuzzy animals *L* , so basically some fursuit shots. I'd pay for it and any of the local furs would be welcome to come and get their shots taken.
Just an idea. If any of the local furs want to pass it on go for it. (especially if any of our local furs are aspiring photographers and would loved to be paid for an hour or two of work!)

I just wanted to plug furryartschool on reddit. Most of the posters there are pretty early stage beginners(so you end up giving a lot of the same basic anatomy and learning to see the body as 3-d shapes not like a chalk outline of a reference pose advice), but also folks looking to improve their shading and lighting, and also for redlines or critique.
It'd be great to get more traffic there and be able to help more people out
It's rather deathly slow at the moment.

Flying down to Boston on this Sunday(3rd) early in the morning.
Driving up from Massachusetts on the Saturaday of the con, I think? *L* I can't remember what we planned. I think we leave super early Sat. from Eastern Mass. and it's about 7-8 hours to TO.
Departure?
Leaving that Monday. Hopefully after a visit to see my sable antelopes at the
TO Zoo. I hope the staff remember me and I can get in the barn to see how they are all doing even not on official Antelope TAG business.
Transportation?
Timmy is going to drive Horatio around of course. ;)
LTs don't have to drive themselves. :P

My service dog, Schalke, will be with me and I imagine he's going to flip the heck out at all the people and noise and fursuits(I've been randomly jumping out at him in suit to try and get him used to it) and so it may be a slow gradual introduction to the con for him.

I really don't care the make of graphire.

Posted 13 years agoHaven't been online for almost two months unfortunately my health has gotten pretty poor. My eyes too are pretty crappy these days- but I have the accessability settings and magnifier set up on my laptop and that helps a tonne with being able to read.

I have Schalke(my service dog) with me and he did fantastically on the airplane. :)
It was his first time flying and he pretty much slept at my feet the entire time.
We also went and stayed for a weekend in Vermont, he always seems to like staying at hotels and he LOVES the car.
Sharon is so good with dogs too, here I was thinking Schalke was so well trained and she has just whipped him into shape like a drill sergeant. *L* I guess I baby him a wee little bit.
I just have to rant about one thing:
Why do people try to call my dog over when he is working? Like clapping their hands and saying 'here doggy' and making clucking/kissing noises. I don't even mean kids, I mean grow ass adults. Would you grab someones wheel chair and just drag it over to you?
Thank goodness Schalke knows to just ignore them but still...geeze people. I know part of the legal obligation of having your service dog out in public is to be able to always interact politely with people who are curious but sometimes I just want to be like 'wtf'. I guess it's Schalke's fault for being such a lovable, handsome fellah. ;)

Massachusetts is melting. I just checked Environment Canada to what it is back home and it's about ten degrees less. (The American weather service is nice enough to have Celsius on their page also, thank you NWS)

Partial Fursuit- Pink Gecko Productions
Posted 13 years agoI just have to give huge thanks to Pink Gecko who did such a fantastic job on my suit for such an amazing price. Seriously, it was a steal for the quality of fur and workmanship.
I've already worn it out once just for kicks and once when stuck at the hospital- (got a lot of smiles from a lot of kids ^_^)
I'm just going to get a pair of suit sandals to protect EN's pretty pink feet paw pads from now on.
It's so cool all the little details that make EN look like he belongs in the TLK universe- like the black around the nose and the Disney style smile. The two little teeth showing in his smile just like a TLK screen shot.
My one little nitpick is I'd like to give him a bit puffier more Simba-ish parted mane at some point, but I imagine you can't do much to style fur! (Lion toupee? *LOL*)
Seriously - it's a great suit, it was a great experience, super awesome artist who took my vision and blended it with TLK and their own style and brought a very well known fan character to life. Every time I look at the head I smile!
Even the ears, which are mostly hidden, were made with care. That gives me warm fuzzies in my professionalism place.
Also I expected the head to be uncomfortable -hot and stuffy and it is a little bit but it's way, way more comfy than I could have imagined. With my limited vision due to illness I thought I would have a hard time getting around with it on but between the eyes and mouth even with vision mainly in one eye only I can see both down by my feet and ahead and not run into anything(any more than I normally do- that's where Schalke the trusty mobility assistance dog come in!) .
The hand paws are so fun and comfy to wear to. They might just be my favourite part.

If anyone knows anyone who is available (I'd love to get PG to do them but I'm not sure if they do sleeves :/) to do a set of plain black sleeves with white elbow tufts that would be AWESOME. (any of the local NS furs willing to give it a go? That way we could match the fur.)

Back from my big trip all around the US(well the Eastern/Southern US).

I have worked with such amazingly nice artists this buying spree- not that most artists aren't nice as hell- but I have discovered some seriously cool people.
Must do some pimping once all the art is done.(so I can be fair and do every one at once).
And should probably scan that big pile of my own crap I have laying around.

Char sheet wanted
Posted 14 years agoI was think of posting profiles of my various characters here in the journal and because Lukey Wix needs a ref sheet he'll go first.
First things first I don't have paypal so it has to be moneygram, cashier's cheque/money order. (I've started using cashier's cheque's instead of money orders because they have no fees attached)
I'm looking for a sheet for a character I've had for a long time but only ever doodled and who deserves a good reference- the problem is he's kind of a pain in the ass design wise. He's a winged piebald moose. Yeah, you see the issue. Palmate antlers, wings, piebald markings all equal a tricky character.
Lukey is an Eastern Woodland Moose(Alces alces americanus).

With large antlers(as an anthro he does not shed them) with very distinct points on the shovel and on spike split into two tines before the shovel.

For ease of drawing him he has symetrical antlers. If you don't mind the extra detail- one antler has the first spike off the shovel broken off.
He has a dewlap and bell which are quite pronounced and big fleshy nose and he gives the impressions of a very moosey anthro. The ruff of his neck is pronounced and I've exagerated it bit in his character- it flows into his 'hair' and down around his shoulders.
Lukey lives in the 1940s and has a typical kind of 1940s ad guy hair cut.

With a pink end to his nose and slightly different colour around his eyes. His body is much more spotted though.
The base colour of his spots is like a regular moose- with darker on the back and lighter on the legs.
He has generic sort of hawks wings. They are solid white except where a spot overlaps on one wing at the base and on one wing one flight feather is a barred redish rust.

One hoof is pinkish beige as it is on a white spot and one hoof is normal dark. His hand hooves both have light coloured finger hoof tips.
I can give more info on him if someone is interested.
I usually like to pay around $25 for a commission but I know a char sheet is a big job. I probably couldn't go above $50 though. I would consider doing the sketch if someone would do the ink and colour.
So anyone have any quotes and examples they would like to give?

However should be ordering the new tablet tonight so I hope it gets here quickly.
Wow, I haven't taken a commission is years. I find it stressful- so all I ask is that you take a good look at my work and make sure you'll be satisfied by what I am able to provide for you.
I do quad/feral characters cheaper.
Wings and crazy stuff are more expensive.
I will draw just about any subject matter and even if it can't be uploaded here on FA I'm happy to just email it to you. (brothers, teen/adult, etc.)
I do animal or human type genitals.
I DON'T take paypal. Sorry!

I'm honestly not expecting anyone to want a commission from me, but I just wanted to hang up my shingle. I find commissions super stressful and really kind of hate doing them- but other wise I don't have any spending money to buy commissions from other people! ;)

Wow, I haven't taken a commission is years. I find it stressful- so all I ask is that you take a good look at my work and make sure you'll be satisfied by what I am able to provide for you.
I do quad/feral characters cheaper.
Wings and crazy stuff are more expensive.
I will draw just about any subject matter and even if it can't be uploaded here on FA I'm happy to just email it to you. (brothers, teen/adult, etc.)

Posted 14 years agoOh, wow. So much more ill on this prednisone/Immuran combo than I thought I'd be. :/ I knew it would probably be barf city but this is like the Greater Barf Area including suburbs and all out-lying communities without muncipal services. Epic.
I think the mix with the dilaudid and the quinine and stuff for CF and other million things I'm on just make it an awesomely terrible combo.
But in good news Canada Post strike was ended by the Prime Minister yesterday so I can send and recieve mail again. Yay!
Money orders should be mailed out Monday if I'm well enough to be outside.

Posted 17 years agoI just wanted to thank all my friends and even strangers who have been so, so kind online and offline and with cards after the loss of my twin sister. It's so painful and so hard and so lonely that I just don't have the words.
She passed away from complications due to Ehlers Danos syndrome on October 13th at the age of 26.
It means so much to have so many people care and that so many people remember Amy for her courage, kindness and talents.
My parents and I have promised to stick together and stay a family. We're hanging on best we can.

Posted 17 years agoGoing nuts from being housebound/hospital but starting to feel a bit better these days. Good and bad kind of see-saw but some improvement so yay! timms a milllion. Starting to be able to type and speaak a little more clearly thanks to friggging with pain control drugs and doses.
Actuallly have some news, nothing interesting to you art watchinmg folks excerpt that I did buy a new scanner last week so I have a ocuple things to scan.(New Years electornics sale, helps us poor people ;)) Nothing really htrilling since being so ill I haven't gotten much drawing done the last year or so.
Drawing is tiring. It sounds crazy but it really can be hard when you're just about down for the count.
Anyways I I am alive still these days. Hopefully can upload a few thinsg when I get this all set up.

Posted 18 years agoAs of trhe end of September still ill. Been an entrire yeaar now but IO'm finally improving a little bbit health wise. Still not reaaly online though so I'm sorry if you contacted me and have waited ages for a reply. My computer is dead(an actual ptoblem with the electronics not software or hardware funnily enough) and I'm still stuvk on these vcrazy pain killers and still having bad spells of days being bed ridden and days not feeling well enough to be up on the computeer trying to tyoe even when out of bed so I'm still not really around.,

Posted 18 years agoGoing on seven months of being seriously ill. Not trying to be antisocial, just day to day is tough so as you can guess online stuff is really not a priority right now.
Also everyone has their problems, nobody comes here to listen to me bitch you just want to see the pics. Which are few and far between right now.
I do actually have a couple montsh worth of sketches and even a couple inks to upload, not a lot but five or so. I've been working on getting them scanned and uploaded the past week. Got a couple up in the past few days. So hopefully will have a few things coming soon.
Also everyone has their problems, nobody comes here to listen to me bitch you just want to see the pics. Which are few and far between right now.

Anyways I happy to say that the AirGuiTar has returned to the city and maybe we can get some of our collabs done sometime soon. I'm still due to colour some inks. Which I'm terrified to do. :P I have to give her the cougar ink too, if she has time to take on another one. Otherwise when I get feeling better I'll sell the ink and the doggie in markers at the same time. I would love to be able to do a print of the eskie girl so I could kill the smudge of doom. I should redo the background as a dark colour and cover the smudge. I think that would be moe ugly than the stupid little smudge.
I'll just put it really cheap. If no one wants her she'll return to the porns box. Which is actually a Cheerios box. Very stealthy furry porn storage. *L*
