I really want to create a few, but I have very little faith in my ability to draw any of those species xD I especially want a Turian and Drell, maybe a Geth...I like the Protheans too, but it seems cheap having an OC of a dead race >u>; I'd like a male Quarian too, but ME3 ruined the race for me lollllll
Does anyone know anyone who does commissions for them or something? I'd love to get one from grush but they're not open right now ;n; (not that I have any money atm anyway sobbb)

Posted 13 years ago...Until I finished Mass Effect 3. It's been a day and I'm still dwelling on it. I dreamed about it and everything xD So pathetic. But seriously....what the fuck, Bioware? I hate you so much right now ;A;
Also on that note >u>;; I'm gonna be increasing commission prices once I open them again. Just a heads up, since a few people have asked me about them while I've been closed. I think at this point, they're going to range between $5 and $60, depending what you get, of course, I'll make a new commission sheet and everything. I'm currently just not making enough for the amount of effort I put into certain things. But don't despair, I'll also be adding some cheaper options, like cell-shading and monochrome.
I'm also going to be reformatting how I do them. Basically, having an income limit each week ($50ish) and only taking as many commissions as add up to that a week. I think it'll make things easier for me, I should be able to get them cranked out a lot faster, and also make some more money a month to pay for billllls.
And ummm yeah I guess that's it xD Making good progress on things I owe, hoping to have them done soon!

Watcher Appreciation Requests :3
Posted 13 years agoI'm really sick of disappointing so many people as of late, whether it be because of my personal shortcomings, uncontrollable circumstances, or just plain crap. I particularly feel like I've disappointed my watchers and supporters, not only because I've been keeping so many people waiting on commissions and prizes, but because I've been very inactive lately, and haven't accomplished some of the things I've wanted to. I swear, I always have the best of intentions, but sometimes things don't work out the way we've planned.
Anyway, that pity party aside, I'd like to show you guys how much I appreciate you. Once I get through the stuff I owe, I'm going to do a straight week of watcher requests. It may range anywhere from sketches, to headshots, to fully colored and shaded pieces, just depending on how the character inspires me and the amount of time I have that day. I'm hoping to get everything I owe done within the next two weeks, but if I can even just get down to one or two things by that time, I may start it a bit early.
I know you're probably thinking that I've offered requests before and never done any of them, and like I said, things don't always work out the way we planned. But this time I'm seeing it as more of an event, a necessary reward to all of you who appreciate and inspire me. I'll announce when my request week begins, and during that week you'll have to keep an eye out for your request :3
SO, just comment below with some references of one or several of your characters. Tell me a little bit about them, or leave it up to me, but please don't request anything like a certain pose or scene, that makes it harder for me.

I got my acceptance package from Massachusetts College of Art and Design today, accepting me into the freshmen class this year! It's a really prestigious art college, and I'm so amazed that I actually got in.
It just goes to show you that you can get into art school with 'anime' art. Of course, I had a bit of variation, but the majority of my pieces were digital and stylized. Lots of people claim art schools reject that kinda stuff, but clearly not in this case :3
I'm pretty excited, terrified, relieved, everything, but all in all, I'm just glad it worked out okay. Now to figure out how to actually pay for it this time orz;;

Making a Pet Siiite
Posted 13 years agoSo I've decided to create a pet site on a whim. It's not gonna be like neopets or subeta any time soon, since I can't code for shit and I can't afford to hire someone to do it for me. It'll be small, for now at least, but I want to make it unique to other sites around, and make it more varied and user-friendly.
I'm also going to try to have a larger array of 'pets'. There will be the cutesy ones, and then also more intense/realistic/aggressive ones, and humanoid creatures as well. The user avatar will be 100% customizable, and instead of buying items, you draw directly onto the base, or hire someone to do it for you.
It's mostly just in development phase right now, since I need to get the art I owe done first, and its pretty slow building the website and working everything out. But I guess why I'm making this journal is to see if anyone would like/be able to help me out. I'm going to need illustrators for drawing pets and NPCs, alternate line-arts for the user avatar and certain pets, as well as design concepts for pets. I'm already running out of ideas xD
Free coding help would also be loved orz;;
I might offer benefits/contest/prize incentives later on down the road when I A) have time and B) have money, but for now all I can really do is ask for help for free ;u; but it's really not necessary, I'm in no hurry to do this, and I have other responsibilities to complete first, anywaaaay.

Posted 13 years agoAfter months of battling and freaking out and pulling my hair out, I have finally.....
*drumroll please*
...Fixed my computer! It took me literally all day, but I've finally managed to re-install windows and get it back up and running well. Even installed norton to avoid this ever happening again x.x
I'm still installing everything again and getting my junk back on here, but I'm going to be cranking out everything I owe you guys. I hate owing a lot of work, so I really want to keep us all happy by getting things done quickly and efficiently. Thank you all so much for your patience ^^ It feels so GOOD to have it back, finally. ;u;

Before I announce them, I do need to note, again, that I haven't had the opportunity to draw anything since christmas. I have a nasty virus on my computer, and I need to re-partition it (using windows on a mac), meaning I need to buy windows, which costs at least $100. Feedback Survey
Posted 14 years agoInspired by my last journal, and the abhorrent behavior of some artists, I thought it would be wise to do one of these feedback surveys. I always go out of my way to be friendly and accommodating to people, both friends and strangers here on FA who support me. I appreciate every comment, every fave and watch, and I want it to show in my behavior, and my art. I encourage other artists to take this survey and post journals of their own. No credit is necessary! But the only requirement is that you allow your watchers to be honest, and don't reject constructive criticism.
NOTE: Constructive is the notable term here. Any insulting or unnecessarily critical comments will be ignored or hidden :C I doubt this will happen, but I just felt the need to say it just in case.
Feel free to comment here or note me privately if you'd prefer, responding to the following questions or just offering your own opinions. Feel free to elaborate on any question, including details or specifics, or suggestions in how I could improve.

Fursona Contest! (Yeah, another one)
Posted 14 years agoSo this is actually something I've been thinking about for a while, and was just waiting for my last contest to end so I could do this one lol. Now that I'm dishing out the prizes for the last contest, I thought I'd announce my next one :3 This one should be a lot easier, but we'll see xDD;;
Objective;;
Make enraptured a fursona! Basically, you're creating a furry character for me. This character should reflect my interests (shown below). Each entry should be at least one fullbody ANTHRO image of the nude character (to show markings), things like extra headshots, clothing, feral form, genitals are all optional. The winning design will just be the one I like best, plain and simple, but obviously the more effort/detail the better! I'm obviously not going to reward someone for a design that I have to develop a lot on my own afterwards.
Things to know about me;;
1. I favor canine furries, with long narrow snouts, but I also love reptiles/dragons/lizards! So some kind of canine/lizard hybrid would be awesome. I looove really long/big tails, either really fluffy or reptilian, or both!
2. I love demons, horns, claws, talons, etc. Anything kind of...evil looking lol. Mystical markings, crystals, bandages/seals, etc. GIMME POWA /jkjk
3. In terms of color pallets, I love greys and black especially, also muted blues and earthy browns/greens (Not necessarily all together x.O). I also love glowiness! So like a bright highlight of blue/green/yellow, etc. I loooove the grey/yellow combo! I reaaaallly DONOT like pastel colors, for the most part I avoid those.
4. Theme wise, I love cyberpunk (dreads!), Feudal Japanese, Final Fantasy-esque fashiony stuff, any cool combination of those~
5. I want a male sona, that or both (ie. can be either, not a herm). I prefer a more masculine male, but obviously you can draw it in whatever style you'd like :3
6. Markings wise, I much prefer natural markings! Tattoos and similar things like that are awesome, too (and piercings slksjdlkgj <333) buuut I really don't want any stars//lace/hearts/really stampy markings. Generally I'm not into that.
7. Most importantly, I don't want anything too simple or too complicated. I should be able to draw it easily/commission it easily, but I also don't want just like...a dime for a dozen dog 'sona that could be anyone's sona.
8. OH AND ALSO. I love amputees/wounded characters. So like. Giving him a missing arm, eye, ear, etc would be awesome. But whatever works with the design, don't force it~ Weird extra mouths are also cool. Like...in the tail, neck, stomach, ETCCCC

Introducing Miller McKinnley's brand new band lineup!
The auditions were long and grueling, spanning several months. Some dreams were crushed, others were grazed as certain potential musicians were rejected and others called back for a second interview. Miller met with each prospectful bandmate personally, speaking to them, getting to know them as a person and as a talent. It was an incredibly difficult decision, but finally, after months of waiting, a new line-up was decided upon. Miller announced, in an official press release, the name and members of his new band.

Congratulations to the winners! It was an incredibly difficult decision for me, and I ultimately relied heavily on the help of four different people to help guide my decisions (in other words, don't hate me if you didn't win ;u; orz). In the end, I went mostly on those that were voted for the most, as well as the characters that seemed to have the most time invested into their designs, backstories, and creativity. I also considered how the characters would interact, how they would compliment each other, both in design and personality. All of the submissions were amazing, though, so thank you everyone who entered!
To those who didn't win, don't despair! Watch the upcoming group to stay up to date on happenings of the band. Future contests will be held, as well as random opportunities to either 'collaborate' with the band, or join as a permanent affiliate.
Now for placements! While all accepted characters are winners, there is an order which determines how prizes are distributed! This really has to do with the same criteria listed above, and just how much of the various requirements were met, and how well.

But now that the contest is over, you can use your character in RPs, other stories, whatever you'd like! This is just for fun, guys :3

He's a relatively established vocalist, a team player, but unfortunate circumstances resulted in him leaving his last band and aspiring to build another--greater--powerhouse! So he's holding auditions! His producers have promised to sign his new band to his previous label, assuming he can find marketable and reliable talent--he knows he can do it! So now it's time for him to meet all of the infinitely talented candidates: Create a character for Miller's new rock band. The character can be human, kemonomimi, or furry--all is welcome--but should fit into a modern, normal setting (Ie. No fantasy-based creatures/abilities/characteristics that do not make sense for the species. A chameleon may be able to shift their colors, a spider might have multiple limbs, but keep things realistic) and know one of the sought instruments, shown below. Male and females allowed, but keep in mind that this is a ROCK band! Think similar to bands like Linkin Park, Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, or Fair to Midland. Characters should somehow reflect the genre.

3. Don't stress! All in all, this is just a contest, meant to be fun. Don't over think things, or try to get into my head to see what I'd like most. Just do what you do best, what you're comfortable with, and take your time. If you don't make the deadline, no biggie! I like to think I'm a friendly person, so if you have an issue or concern, feel free to let me know and we can work something out.

I think it's important for any artist to have one of these, so I thought I'd write one up real quick, just for reference purposes. I'm not so much using this as 'insurance' for myself in the case of a disagreement, simply so you guys know that we're on the same page, and know what your rights are.
Waiting Period: (Paid work only)
When waiting on work from me, this is how I like to see the timeline.
1-14 Days: Please give me this amount of time before you begin contacting me about progress on your work, or, if you'd rather, a refund. I am a slow worker, and also have days where I just can't get anything out, so I need some time to get things looking proper :P
2 weeks +: At this point, after fourteen days have passed, you're free to send me a polite message asking on the progress of your commission, or how long I think it will be. I have progress on all work listed on my journals (see below) but I will be more than happy to let you know the estimated time till completion, and why I may be taking longer on the work. If you'd like a refund at this point, you're welcome to ask for it.
4 weeks +: After a month has passed, you as the paying commissioner have every right to ask for a refund, whether I've begun your commission or not. There will be no hard feelings, I will be very apologetic (because, honestly, I know that asking for a refund isn't fun for either party) and you will get the money you paid whether I can afford to give it or not. Obviously, I would still prefer you be polite, since no one likes working with someone who treats them disrespectfully, and you will NEVER hear me treat you or anyone else with disrespect. If you ask for a refund, or even just progress inquiry, I will let you know why it's taken me so long and when I will have yours done. If you'd still like a refund, then you'll get it! :) No questions asked.
Waiting Period: (Unpaid work only)
When it comes to contest prizes, trades, or requests, things are a bit less lenient on your end since you're not a paying customer. Obviously, it varies for those who give me something in return, and those that are simply requests.
Contest Prizes: If you've won a contest prize from me, I will prioritize it over free work, but not over paid work. This may take me anywhere from a few days to a few months, but I WILL do my best to complete it for you. If you contact me to cancel your prize, I will not argue, I will just remove you from my list. If you contact me to ask about progress politely, I will let you know why its taking the amount of time that it is and when I think it will be done. If you are rude to me, I will remove you from my list and not complete your contest prize.
Trades: Trades are a lesser priority than paid work, but higher than anything else. Sometimes, I will intersperse trades between paid work since designs are easier/more fun for me, but generally, you will have to wait a bit of time if I have commissions in progress. If it's been around 4 weeks since you've completed your end of the trade, you're more than welcome to contact me and ask about it, I will be more than apologetic! I love doing trades, so I always try to get them done quickly. If you want to cancel a trade, just let me know, I'll understand! If it's been more than a month or two, though, and neither of us have completed our halves, I will usually either contact you and ask if it's still on, or just assume it's canceled.
Requests: Requests are simply this: optional. If I take requests and do not complete them, it's really my right not to do so since I am getting nothing in return. Clearly, I feel bad whenever I take requests and then don't do them, but sometimes that just happens with me (usually, actually). I will sometimes go back to old request boards and use references offered for freebies now and again.
Rework/Refund Policy:
If you're unhappy with the work I complete for you, you have several options, depending on the type of work it is.
Custom Designs/Adoptables: If you don't like the design I've completed for you, you can either sell it to someone else for the same or less price that you bought it for (NEVER sell designs I give you for more than you paid!), or I will resell it and redo the design for you.
Commissions: I am more than willing to make minor changes to finished commission pieces, such as color changes, markings, expressions, etc. When it comes to more drastic changes, it is much harder for me to do. If the mistake is on my end (I completely overlook a detail you told me) I will redo it for you, but if you simply forgot to mention that your character's hair is waaay longer or that you wanted them looking chubby rather than thin, I will not correct the mistake, simply because it takes me too much time. If you'd like it redone anyway, I may charge a fee.
Refunds: As stated above, so long as you've waited an acceptable amount of time, I will refund your money without question, whether I have it to give or not. Please also note the details regarding manners below for this!
MANNERS***
This is VERY important! I take social etiquette very seriously and never excuse rude or disrespectful behavior, no matter the circumstance. If you contact me at any time, whether it's been a few days or a few months that you've been waiting, and you treat me with disrespect, I will NOT cooperate with you with the respect I'm not being shown. If you contact me and are simply rude, I will refund your money (or work out whatever the issue is) but never work with you again in the future. However, if you are HOSTILE (I will ask a third party for their opinion on the matter, in case I'm just being sensitive) I will NOT refund your money, I will not cooperate with you, and I will simply tell you that your behavior was unacceptable and block you. This may seem harsh, but I go out of my way to be kind and respectful to people, especially when it comes to business and other people's money. I will NEVER have an attitude with you, even if I think you're wrong, so I expect the same courtesy in return.
Uploading my work:
If you've bought a commission from me or an adoptable, you are more than welcome to upload it anywhere that allows you to, so long as you give me explicit credit for the work and link back to me in some way. Either to my profile or to the originally uploaded work. If I see my artwork uploaded anywhere without credit, whether it's a commission/adoptable you bought from me or not, I will contact you and ask you to credit me. If you don't, I will report the submission as theft.
If you order a commission or custom from me and do NOT want it uploaded anywhere, I will just upload it to a third party image host (ie. tinypic, iaza, etc.) And link it to you in a note or email. No biggie!
DISCLAIMER:
I find it unacceptable when artists treat their paying commissioners poorly, in or outside of transactions. When I take someone's money, I am giving them my time and doing them a favor. The customer is always right, you know? So I will always go out of my way to be polite, understanding, and courteous to customers, and do what I can to keep them happy. I will not tolerate disrespect or rudeness, as stated above. I will not tolerate anyone being needlessly impatient (contacting me after a few days). So long as you're kind to me, I will be kind to you, it's that simple!
I WILL NEVER TAKE ADDITIONAL COMMISSIONS BEFORE COMPLETING THOSE I ALREADY HAVE FIRST! I know how infuriating that can be, so I never do it. If I do this and you're waiting on a commission from me, this may mean that I've forgotten about you or there was a mix up of some kind. Just kindly note me and I will let you know! (It may also be because I'm about done/just finished your commission and simply haven't gotten it to you yet). This does not apply for adoptables or trades!
