New stage of life, too many new aches, got a new look and hopefully things just get more fun from here, as they say life starts after now.

Well, planty's been around for some time now, not just here but on this planet really. Lot indeed has gone on, and I find myself at a strange kind of feeling accepted here these days, though kind of irrelevant in the huge scope of things, not unwanted like when I started out, and that's kinda comforting.

I think it's more about outlasting those who didn't want a weird plant on FA in the first place, as I've seen none of the faces who would kindly slip me notes discouraging my presence in some time.
Well, that's all I'll say with any negativity, I felt I was warranted a moment to speak on such, but seems another revolution around this sphere approaches planty, and this time one of significance.
Can you be called a "greymuzzle" if you lack a muzzle? Well the sentiment is there I estimate.

I'll have something neat for the day, actually got the stars to align and have something planned for one of my days for a change.

So, following up on a childhood curiosity, and some artists I follow showing such as they worked, found myself finally getting into Tokusatsu. Seen Shin Kamen Rider, up to ep 12 of Gotchard, and splurged on some Chemy cards. I feel safe saying I think I've added that fandom to my belt now.

Nothing bad, I assure you.
Just been some time, entering into the planty prime in a while, doing some introspection.

I started pretty safe here, well kinda had to as I met my share of apathy and opposition to being a firmly main OC plant on this site. Back in the day there weren't many places to go, and this seemed the most tolerable of my choice at the time.

I played it slow roll, went from tame to simple leads, to letting my confidence gather- to be frank, I am a nervous wreck inside when I think it'll scare people off to let myself loose- so it took an immense building frustration with myself to really start to let loose and have some out there fun here. Still felt nervous as all get out but did it the same.

These days it may say one nice sized number is following me, but who all's really doing so and not just being kind or simply moved on seems to be diminished, naturally of course, but also natural are my nerves at thinking those numbers will hit zero sooner or later. Foolish or not, this is my worry-wort brain.

It is nice to be able to say I've felt more at ease just dropping my self-imposed restraints of old more and more these days, and I can only hope there are people liking that too.

So, I'm not going anywhere, still here, on the name confused social platform, and enjoying bluer skies. Hopefully I don't get to be too much for folks here, and as fir my new watchers of a new generation, welcome, folks, hope you like what all I gather here and feel free to comment any day, remind me that others like what I do.

Recently I put up my Guide to the Herfollia species https://www.furaffinity.net/view/53496606/ in an effort to put my own personally developed fantasy race out there for others to more easily use for their purposes, apply to various games as potential new playable race or just further fleshing out npc races.

I'm going to try and update regularly when questions or comments come in, so feel free to reply here or there with any, and when the main file gets an update I'll try and indicate in both spots as well.

Forgot to update this for a bit it seems. Well, not terribly much is new. Work is work and sucks as per normal.

If any I've talked to in the past are wondering why I don't talk back right now, could be a few things-
1) I honestly have forgotten your original identity, what with people changing their main OCs left and right, altering names like crazy, so I honestly am not sure who you are. ^^; In which case, feel free to remind me, and I'll happily call you whatever you wish to go by now.
2) I've become a bit burnt out with age on putting my best face forward to usually be relegated to a tag-along backup resource, so I generally talk to those who actually talk to me. Have you talked to me lately like we once did? If not, that's probably the main reason I'm so quiet.
3) I tend to get a bit absent-minded at times, and when I think no one's actually thinking about me I get a bit self conscious and get all quiet. Usually just as easy as the above two to solve.

Nothing malicious or ill-tempered, I assure you. Just shy plant getting down on themselves as normal.

Been a bit quieter around here, really need to fix that, and get more lively in other places too.

Oh, and recently got the idea to live post up the lore for the Herfollia species, Essy in particular or related, in a place I'm not busy putting my thoughts out but checking enough as is, my twitter.

I really need to start making better use of this journal, but I half suspect it'd not be that checked in on so, twitter (Essrayle) is the real goto for things. I do also have a Curious Cat, but it kinda gathers dust so best just to DM questions or such there, but feel to use the replies for any queries as well really.

So I think just to get something new up here, going to answer a few questions I've had of late and see if it may spark up any new ones from folks as, surprise surprise, Essy's more than just a leafy green tart, kinda been developing him/her slash myself for many years now, so I probably keep a lot secret in my head and forget to say it openly here. So feel free to ask and get me talking!

What caused you to be a *plant* on FA?

Well, at the time, FA was the most seemingly open and inviting group around, and I was in need of a new "me" as, sadly, who I had once been was far too limiting for my personal growth and emotional development, but what creation when we're a pre-teen isn't some typical edgelord less shallow than a wading pool? So, here I was, had a place to go, but no new body to inhabit. With some inspiration from a good friend, I decided to do as I tend to and go my own way, be *me* and not something trying to be like others. I know that sounds like some haughty cop-out but it's true enough, I have a weird tic, and always have, where not doing something I create myself just feels..."wrong" to me, uncomfortable, stiff, confining? Made playing pretend as a kid very...challenging, gotta say.
But I've always loved science fiction, fantasy, rpgs, folklore, so why not combine it all? While I could have as easily gone down the path of being mechanical, I opted for the road much less traveled and decided to be something that could *really* do some growing.

What do you/does Essy do on their free time?
Normal things, movies, mainly comedies, I'm well-versed in classic comedy and pride myself on a strong sense of comedic timing, reading, gaming some, need to write more, run Erostia (though thankfully it runs itself as much as I do), the normal internet things. Oh and sleep, strict diurnal schedule being a plant you know. The moment the sun sets the stores of solar energy built up begin a steady drain and best be inside when they run out or it's bed time wherever they do.

Does Essy play any instruments?
Aspires to play many, only actually plays the violin and piano, often at the same time. Four arms helps. Also singing, must be the faithfulness to the Alarune lore in me, but when you can self clone becomes very easy to become your own duet, trio, quartet, or band even.

Does Essy have any sort of battle experience or a fighting style?
Yes. A style quite faithful to the "monster" interpretations of many a plant-being mixed with the grace of a royal raising, having the typical monster "modes" to things. You see, for a herfollia, there is no such thing as a mana or magic points pool for us, there is only Life Energy, thus every action draws upon this (In essence, HP=MP). So a balance of action and rest/recovery is vital, hence my own over-abundance of regenerative techniques to run "in the background" to whatever else I might be doing in my "rooted" state. An array of aromas to cause damage to the status of others are employed, as is utilizing my main natural growth acceleration skills (on free-standing flora, dispersed seeds, etc.). "Active" the Blumenblad becomes my main method of combat, though usually not as directly as one would think, it's quite handy for getting about at surprising speed by influencing its size and shape, and the ease of regenerating damage to it makes it indispensable. While it's probably not the most "elegant" part of me, I try to go for a rather....brutally efficient style of dispatching what needs to be, assassination instead of prolonged battles? Constant swapping of these "modes" throughout as needed.

Why is Essy a ****?
First off, I don't make it my *job*, merely my *pleasure*, and I enjoy my pleasure quite often thank you very much.
But to be honest, it's a part of me, who I am, I enjoy pleasures of the flesh and the mind and spirit immensely due to denying myself these heavily until my leafy awakening. I enjoy experiencing them and helping others to experience such, I love to see someone feel comforted by my words and how they absolutely bloom as a person just as much as I enjoy *heavily censored*

What is your favorite color?
Tricky. Green and Purple of course make up my main two, but the exact shades are always up for question. And any tertiary colors are up for question too.

What sign is Essy?
Aquarius. Not my fault some people got all premature and made a dumb call and *now* have to add new signs and shift everything, planty was set when planty was born and the zodiac is just gonna have to deal with that.

A question I've gotten before, and until late I don't think I've ever quite had a precise enough answer. But now I do. I don't see Essy as much of an OC, or a "Self-Insert", or some "Spirit Animal/plant/whatever" really. I'd say to me, Essy is an Aspect. Essy isn't just some character, but a part of me, a side of me, a facet of my personality, she's a lot of hopes and dreams and desires all combined into a more tangible form. Essrayle is, he/she is *me,* a part of me as close to me as my own natural given name. She is a vividity I aspire to be.

What the Planty Prime, the First Herfollia is to me is something on both a psychological and spiritual level, we're one in the same and yet not totally at the same time. Some day, maybe, but not rushing that before its time. I'm just glad I discovered him/her, what the planty is to me and how to fully express that online. When here, there's little to no separation, but when the working world calls, well, gotta put on the other face and get to that, but at the end of the day it's all the same being, just with all the bells and whistles at my disposal here really.~

And I feel, making this known only strengthens this bond, so I'm glad I'm able to.

So, look at the time. I've been doing the plant thing for 10 years straight now, 10 years since I joined this fandom and most fantasy fandoms, monster girl ones by simply choosing to go green in the big way. It's not been easy, that's for sure, rather rough start for a few years there, you'd be surprised at how xenophobic some furry folks are, even here. >>

But, either through thickheadedness or just not feeling like being anything else, here I am.

I suppose this is a good time for me to say what I hope for for the future really. Well, I hope to even further develop the character of the herfollia I am, and deepen the backstory even more. Heck, maybe some time I can get it to levels of being neat enough of others wanting to jump on the leafy bandwagon? Kinda doubt that, but it's a fun thought.

Well, in the time since last journal, good bit's happened. New phone get, so enjoying the perks of that. Also, managed to pick up a Switch, which I've been loving, got Breath of the WIld for it, and Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove. Love them both, and played a lot of the former, playing Specter of Torment DLC at the moment though. Loving it, and beat it once, on the challenge mode of things. What amazes me is how similar the stats of that mode are to how a plant actually works in that manner.

What I mean, and sorry for any "spoilers" (although it's more a mechanic than anything) is something I probably shoulda gone into some time ago, really I forget if I ever did in all honesty. So either way, Essy functions on this same mechanic, which is HP (Hit Points/Health) is one in the same with MP (Magic Points, Magic ability), they're in the same pool. So if she uses too much energy in her main abilities, which tend to focus around the acceleration of growth of plantlife, the energy that serves as her health is depleted, so wise use has to be taken for such. Food can only replenish so much, so that's where the whole crux of how a herfollia functions comes in, the absorption of excess sexual energies.

So when the nickname Succubus of the Forest got tossed around, it's pretty accurate. Less so stealing such energy completely, like the real deal would, and more facilitating the fun time for a feeding/resupply.

So that's the basic gist of how things work in this surreal floral race of mine.

So been in a bit of a mood lately. Life's been kinda rough and confusing, some IRL stuff has really been weighing heavy on me for a bit now. But things are starting to seem like they're getting back to normal, so trying to clear the backlog of what I should have been posting and getting stuff up here on the sight. Not much has changed in life at the moment. Going through new job search to get out of mine, trying to write more, and playing lots of Overwatch. Loving the new buffs they gave folks, and of course Ana herself as a character. So, before this update I primarily used Reaper, Junkrat, Roadhog, and Genji, with a smattering of assaulting young punks on the lawn with the old soldier himself.

But since the updates, loving when I can hit the quick play, as I think competitive is rather bs for a few reasons, using Ana and Zenyatta. The monk's been a long time fav but was waaay too squishy to use much before now, and Ana's just has some neat weapons. Sooo, ya. Not much else to say really. Do hope sunmer's treating everyone well really.

So many thanks to those who gave the supportive words to an over-reacting, nervous over silly things plant. Went and got the game, took a good bit but dove into the online, and loving it. Fun times, and not some dull CoD type shooter.

Really liking the different styles and strategies that go into this all. So far main seems to be Genji, but do well with Reinhardt and Bastion, somewhat Tracer, really want to get good with Zenyatta. Cause I dig the peaceful fighter vibe.~

So I went and got Overwatch, cause why not? Looks pretty, not some boring CoD looking clone, could be fun. I haven't played an FPS since the days of Goldeneye 007, and as with all online games that can have any competition, I find myself having anxiety about actually starting. Haven't had the best of luck with any games that are PvP, but I inherently love such a format so, it's a vicious cycle. ^^;

So, hopefully today, tomorrow, get the nerves settled, or at least steeled enough to fire it up and see what things are about. Hopefully not being a dismal failure as I tend to end up in most other games in the process.

Been doing that, liking it. Just nervous to do OL yet as I always get around fighting games, bad past experiences really But might sometime soon.
