BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY!
in 2006 i lost a dear friend of mine to Leukemia. David was a happy 15 year old boy. He was diagnosed when he was 11 and never let his spirits fall. When he needed to go to the doctors for his extremely painful treatments the doctors would say "David, this will hurt" and Davids only response? "I think this hurts my mother more"
David passed in three days.
Day one: he forgot who the nurses were that had been taking care of him for the past four years.
Day Two: His organs shut down and he was put on a respirator.
Day three: his brain activity diminished and his mother and sister (whom i live a block away from, my entire life, and i graduated with her) decided it was time to let him go...
I have been donating to LLS since this. I have also lost my Grandma Eve (maternal Grandmother), a close family friend (Billy), My Uncle (Lenny), and seriously a large handful of people (15 in the past six years) My Grandfather, and his wife both also have a form of cancer.
If you have even known someone who has battled his disease, or has lost their battle. Please help the cause and donate. Any amount helps us on our way to the cure.

Posted 16 years agoThanks to everyone still watching me lol. This semester was really busy, but now it's summer and my job during the week is...well boring! Does anyone have a live Journal? Blaze-Husky told me to get one, and I think if I had more friends on it I would become more active. Another problem...I can't figure out how to search for people I might be interested in watching :/
SO!!! If anyone has a live journal PLEASE, if you want, add me ;)

If you don't agree with me then please just delete this after you have read it and watched the video, do not email me telling me you hate gays and whatnot, i don't really want/need to hear it.
My sister Aimee in California sent me this email. This goes against our rights as Americans, as PEOPLE! We are all equal. This is only the first step of trying to take our rights away! People deserve to be happy with their families... especially with the way our economy is.
Here's the e-mail:
Hi,
Have you heard that Ken Starr -- and the Prop 8 Legal Defense Fund -- filed legal briefs defending the constitutionality of Prop 8 and attempting to forcibly divorce 18,000 same-sex couples that were married in California last year? The Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in this case on March 5, with a decision expected within 90 days.
The Courage Campaign has created a video called "Fidelity," with the permission of musician Regina Spektor, that puts a face to those 18,000 couples and all loving, committed couples seeking full equality under the law.
Please watch this heartbreaking video now. If you have the same reaction that I did, please help me spread the word by sharing it with your friends and family ASAP:
http://www.couragecampaign.org/Divorce
The more people who see this video, the more people will understand the pain caused by Prop 8 and Ken Starr's shameful legal proceeding.
After you watch the video, please join me and over 200,000 people who have signed a letter to the state Supreme Court, asking them to invalidate Prop 8 and reject Starr's case.
Thanks.

Best Books I have EVER Read
Posted 17 years agoSo at my place of employment I have a LOT of time to read. And my best friend Jolie recommended "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" by Mitch Albom...it was one of the best books I have ever read and I am not exaggerating.
The book is about an old man who meets his death during a freak accident at work. It tells you about the journey to heaven. Basically there are five people within his life that he had changed their lives forever, or they had changed his. And they are all waiting for him in heaven to help him ascend. It was phenomenal. It was such an amazing and inspiring book. I read it in a day, and then my mom read it the next day, then my grandmother read it the next day.
After that I went to Barns & Nobles and bought two of his other books. “Tuesdays with Morrie”. I am reading that one now. It’s based on real events from Mitch Albom’s life and his dying college professor. Morrie teaches Mitch the lessons that we should know from life, but have sadly forgotten.
But MOST of all. I read “For One More Day” yesterday. My God, I cried like a fool when I read it. It’s about a man who has hit rock bottom after his mother passes on, and he tries to commit suicide. Have you ever lost someone, and just wanted one more day with them? Well this man gets one more day with his mother, and he learns the unknown sacrifices that our parents make for us, and the struggles they go through to make us happy. After I read it I immediately called my mother and told her love her.
His books are so incredibly inspiring, and they teach you lessons that you can never forget. Truly if you want something to read, please Read Mitch Albom’s books. They will change the way you think.

Art Theft
Posted 17 years agoI hate when people take others art work and then either:
A) Claim it as their own...or
B) Do not give credit to the other person.
If you want to be an artist of any kind, you must do your OWN work. If you have no talent...which is usually the case...than stop trying, and get into another field or hobby. OR keep trying and get better so that you can be like the artist you obviously incorrectly admire.
I will admit, I have recreated pictures by famous artist, the same lines, the same colors, everything is the same...but I do NOT post them. They are mainly for practice and I don’t even do it anymore.
When I post FanArt, I always give credit where credit is due. It is not difficult.

Bill Clinton
Posted 17 years agoPeople who hate this man…don’t read on because I will probably insult you. =)
Everyone is always saying, “he was a terrible president, we hated him, that’s why he was impeached.” Please stfu I mean really (sorry JKE) <3
Ok he got a BJ wtf. Yes yes, this was WRONG! Because it was not from his wife. HOWEVER!!! If Hillary can get over it…America and you people get the fuck over it. I mean my God. She is his WIFE don’t you think her opinion in the matter, is the only one that really fucking matters, YES!!!
He was a phenomenal President though. He did more in the 8 years he was in office for this country then…well Bush can’t even tie his own shoes so lets move on from this.
PLEASE READ THE LIST BELOW!!!!
15 million working families enjoyed tax relief under President Clinton's expanded Earned Income Tax Credit. Thanks to Clinton, the EITC lifted 4.3 million people out of poverty in 1998 alone.
1.5 million children benefited when Clinton more than doubled federal funding for childcare.
President Clinton signed a bad "welfare reform" bill in 1996, but Clinton vetoed a worse bill twice, winning concessions each time including - increased child care funding (by $4 billion), worker retraining, extensions for benefits, exceptions for "hard cases" and more.
Clinton increased funding for the Head Start program by 90 percent in FY 2000 so 880,000 children had a better chance to learn and grow.
Clinton forced the minimum wage up from $4.25 to $5.15 per hour and demanded an increase to $6.15.
Clinton's Workforce Investment Act reformed the nation's employment and training system.
Clinton's AmeriCorps gave 150,000 young people the opportunity to serve in their communities while earning money for college or skills training.
President Clinton's One America initiatives challenged us to respect others' differences and embrace the common values that unite us. "[T]o close the opportunity gaps that exist for minorities and the underserved in this country."
The poverty rate fell from 15.1 percent in 1993 to 12.7 percent in 1998. That's the lowest poverty rate since 1979 and the largest five-year drop in poverty in nearly 30 years (1965-1970).
The African-American poverty rate dropped from 33.1 percent in 1993 to 26.1 percent in 1998 -- the lowest level ever recorded and the largest five-year drop in African-American poverty in more than a quarter century (1967-1972).
The poverty rate for Hispanics fell to the lowest level since 1979, and dropped to 25.6 percent in 1998.
African-American unemployment fell from 14.2 percent in 1992 to 7.3 percent in March 2000 -- the lowest rate on record.
The unemployment rate for Hispanics fell from 11.6 percent in 1992 to 6.3 percent in March 2000 -- and in the last year has been at the lowest rate on record.
For women the unemployment rate was 4.3 percent in March 2000, nearly the lowest since 1953 [when few women sought employment outside the home].
In 1999, the homeownership rate was 66.8 percent -- the highest ever recorded. Minority homeownership rates were also the highest ever recorded.
Under President Clinton and Vice President Gore, child poverty declined from 22.7 percent in 1993 to 18.9 percent in 1998 -- the biggest five-year drop in nearly 30 years.
The poverty rate for African-American children fell from 46.1 percent in 1993 to 36.7 percent in 1998 -- the lowest level in 20 years and the biggest five-year drop on record.
The rate also fell for Hispanic children, from 36.8 percent to 34.4 percent - and is now 6.5 percentage points lower than it was in 1993.
So please, leave me alone about seeing him because I am happy. I can say within my life I have seen a United States President Speak. In my hometown. And I was only feet away.
Thank you.

Lower Gas Prices. Long but a good read i think.
Posted 17 years agoThis was on a group on Facebook and i thought it was neat. =)
This was sent by a retired Coca Cola executive. It came from one of his engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton. If you are tired of the gas prices going up AND they will continue to rise this summer, take time to read this please.
Phillip Hollsworth offered this good idea.
This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the ’don’t buy gas on a certain day’ campaign that was going around last April or May!
It’s worth your consideration. Join the resistance!!!!
I hear we are going to hit close to $ 4.00 a gallon by next summer and it might go higher!! Want gasoline prices to come down?
We need to take some intelligent, united action. The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn’t continue to ’hurt’ ourselves by refusing to buy gas.
It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them.
BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can Really work. Please read on and join with us!
By now you’re probably thinking gasoline priced at about $2.00 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently $3.16 for regular unleaded in my town.
Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50 - $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace...not sellers.
With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action.
The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And, WE CAN DO IT WITHOUT HURTING OURSELVES.
How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can’t just stop buying gas.
But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war.
Here’s the idea: For the rest of this year, DON’T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL.
If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.
But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers. It’s really simple to do! Now, don’t wimp out on me at this point...keep reading and I’ll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!
I am sending this note to 30 people. If each of us send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) .. and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000)...and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth group of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers.
If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted!
If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!
Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. That’s all!
(If you don’t understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to do is send this t o 10 people.... Well, let’s face it, you just aren’t a mathematician. But I am . so trust me on this one.
How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!!
I’ll bet you didn’t think you and I had that much potential, did you !
Acting together we can make a difference.
If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. I suggest that we not buy from EXXON/MOBIL UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $2.00 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK.

Rape on my Campus
Posted 17 years agoOk so there have been three, count em, THREE rapes on my campus this SEMESTER! not even this year! Just this semester! They happened IN the DORM rooms. Two of them happened within an hour of each other. The one was the girls own fault b/c she picked the guy up at a party....then took him back to her room...wow yeah lets meet strangers at parties then bring to our bedroom alone and just cuddle...yeah ok, thats EXACTLY what was on his mind.
NOW there is another rape, only this time, it was in (mine and Blaze's) OUR building, the one we SLEEP in. Great.
Apparently the girl and the boy were studying and they shared a drink. He told her he wanted to have sex with her and when she declined he pushed her onto the bed. He kept telling her he wanted to have sex with her and she just kept saying no, not that that meant anything to him at all.
The rape happened around 10:00pm on MONDAY the 24th of March, and the girl reported it around midnight. Wow. The school didnt even alert us, i read it in the local news paper.
This sucks. That poor girl. He was arrested and put in jail on a $20,000 bail which he met later that day. He cannot come onto our campus until a school hearing is completed. He is a freshman on our wrestling team...
so...basically...they better expel him from here. PLUS the other rapes, hah! they have made no arrests for them so those two rapists are still running around. WooHoo!
Oh wow, ranting on the sickness of society!
