Move over, Stomper & Big Al! We have Tusky! (NHL)
Posted a week agoAH! So this is what to expect for perhaps an elephant suit! For this one, I do like that appearance of this newest mascot in the sports world. Yes, you will see about some journals ago about the World Cup 2026 mascots-Clutch, Maple and Zayu, https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/11228782/ , but for them, after the final game on July 19, 2026, they will be retired.
This one, is for the LONG term, provied that the Utah Mammoth does not move again (despite they are expansion, but were originally the Arizona/Phoenix Coyotes and before, the original Winnipeg Jets [ www.nhl.com/utah ]), and it would seem that they will be having him for a REALLY long time while they exist-unlike for the Colorado Avalanche where before they had Bernie St. Bernard ( Here he is!: www.nhl.com/avalanche/fans/bernie-the-mascot ), they had the more scary Howler the YETI. (Remember? 1- the end of Howler: https://milehighsticking.com/the-un.....t-01k1sf1hhr1y 2- another image: www.pinterest.com/pin/554083560378225473/ ) And there were claims of him being scary to children, and if you have ever played against him on a flash game a long time ago on the site, his fierce smile when drawn would give you nightmares!
I do not think the new mascot for the Utah Mammoth named Tusky would scare much young children. If you would see his eyes at a certain angle, I would understand. They will get used to it, and at times, he would be friendly. If can be quite possible that despite that when we see mammoths or even mastodons as near brown colored fur, in one's imagination, it can occur that if a being is frozen enough and still has fur connected, the hair can turn clear or blue if time passes enough. It may not be like Scrat in the final part of the first Ice Age movie, but it is plausible as when a furred or haired being ages, they get grey hairs-it occurs in every being, right
Greymuzzles??
It is good to say too that there are more Proboscidea now in the sports world (I know, pachydermia- but that order is obsolete in scientific terms. We have yet to see in the 5 major men's pro sports leagues a rhino and hippo...) It is a daunting task to make an elephant be anthro like how the MLB (FORMERLY OAKLAND, BUT NOT NAMED SACRAMENTO-yet) Athletics did for theirs named Stomper: www.mlb.com/athletics/fans/stomper . As we do see Stomper, his trunk is stagnant and is raised in the air-not always natural. Well when you see Tusky, you would see that the constructors did a great job making that trunk real, and even though there is no way of making it move at will without a machine that makes noise (It CAN be done, but there would be a LOT of upkeep...) having that truck be realistic when relaxed is a success in itself- UNLIKE THE HORRENDOUS TRUNK FROM ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE'S POPULAR BIG AL!: https://fanbuzz.com/college-footbal.....ephant-mascot/ When you see the video below, you would give it a seal of approval, and note the way Tusky trupeted when he debuted on the ice... And WOW yes, what tusks!
Yeah, let's see how he would have to face some curious kids having to pull on his trunk and tusks as Brodie says- OUCH if you're a fursuited elephant!
IF YOU ARE A FURSUIT CONSTRUCTOR....
Do have this one as a reference to what a trunk should be, and if it is that a commissioner would want a mammoth or mastodon (They are sutbly different-remember that!), his face is the perfect example of how a trunk and tusks should be. For Tusky's tusks, it is a mystery to me on what material they use, but do try everything in getting the secret on how to make them so real like ivory as you see. Of course, male elephants in Africa and Asia would have this as well, don't forget! So if it is that a male proboscid furry would like to have a fursuit, get ready to make those tusks if he want them to be as realistic as what Tusky is showing-this is the most realistic one from the current elephantine species to the ancient ones. It leaves Big Al (very) and Stomper as cheap.
I like Tusky so far! I will see how he will do in more antics that come up in the videos in the future! Yes, if you plan on putting your probocid furry to life, it will have to be Don and Tusky you may expect the constrctors to do him (with tusks) or her. It is rare to see probocid fursuits, but with the debut of Tusky with shiny tusks, let's see if fursuit constuctors can duplicate him if fursuiters want shiny tusks like him! Today, the elephantines have more respect and can get more potential being in suit thanks to Tusky!

(*= Yes, this is the official blue color of the Utah Mammoth: #69B3E7 here on FA. RGB: R105 G179 B231 and CMYK: C55 M13 Y0 K0)(Cory) YUM-WATERMELON!!
Posted a week agoOK so his diet is not totally dependent on meat then! After seeing a video, it does seem that even though wolves have the canines and would rip through the flesh, they can rip through others that can be considered food as well-especially human food...
So then, the rumored story that canines would eat berries (NOT GRAPES-they are lethal when any carnivore eats them!) can be backed up with a video that I found yesterday that they are NOT really strict carnivores like a Tyrannosaur. Despite that they are more like pets in the video, they can eat watermelon!
As it is that it is a very good water source as well, I think it is an incentive that they could break their carnal tastes and have at times, chances to have needed fruits as well since, on a dietary standpoint, needed vitamins and minerals should be taken in as well from plants, and for dogs in their dogfood, there are hints of carrots in there as well (though vegetable.) Yes, in terms of vore and getting digestion, some will claim that carnivores would miss out on getting needed nutrition being strictly meat-eaters and getting the nutrients from the fleshy prey they eat, but of course, getting the nutrients like the B vitamins would be more beneficial if they do get the fruits and veggies-let's not forget fiber!
Therefore, it is clear that the furry wolves (not Therians, but you can debate...) would live longer if they evolve and have intelligence to know that a balanced diet and to get a little less fat and cholesterol would give them a better advantage to the purely wild ones we have now. Who knows, they can appear perhaps 4000 years from now!
This is the vid on YouTube-it is a short:
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Rs9hhS-Hb3I
So then, for Cory, my wolf sona, if it is that he would be hungry, if there is a commission that includes food, don't be surprised that he could have a salad! (Perhaps with anyone that is willing prey... )

2026 FIFA MASCOTS REVEALED-ALL FURRIES! (3)
Posted 3 weeks agoIt was expected that there are mascots-one for each country. Iris Diaz has made the idea that it is for the first of its kind, one native animal from each country will be represented. It is unlike the 2002 World Cup where South Korea and Japan had hosted and they have similar cultures and they have ONE type of mascot- they are the Atmospheriks-some mythical but made-up creatures that aren't original.
The upcoming FIFA MWC 2026 is MUCH MORE ORIGINAL, and I like the idea REALLY much.
So before we see them, I will go and describe them, then the links and videos will show below...
For those that would give theme to the mascots, from the interview, Maple is big on arts and music. Quite mellow, but would be the friendliest of them all. Some can say he looks a little too much like a cow, but I think he's okay as this is a SPORTS mascot suit. IF fursuit, I know that constructors will make a moose better than this one.
Theme: HE LOVES FOOD (Figures that there's the fact that jaguars have the strongest bite force in all cats!), but he would have a healthy weight as he loves to dance! And in seeing the suit design, he actually does look Mexican!
Clutch would be a cute eagle to my eyes, and I can say for him to be represented as a mascot would be fine for me to show bravery and pride. Although Striker would be the cute dog that is from the American Kennel Society as the most popular (I guess Labrador or golden retriever) toughened up to play ball, we already see that as Clutch is a wild animal-being furried-as tough-it's only natural. You can say that for Zayu as well. It will be up to debate with Maple though... To stick with Clutch, in the nature that he's been designed, any child or adult with a child in them would like this eagle-looks friendly! Of course, in terms of you fursuiters when you see the suit design, the viewing area is prominently on the BEAK. It should have been better designed.
He is of the most athletics as he does like basketball and AMERICAN football, but he is one that embraces muticulturality.
I like how they are, and if it is to market FIFA, I think they will do a great job, and us native former NAFTA residents will be proud of what the marketing committee had done in having the unprecidented 3 individual mascots to represent each country. It is unlike Germany where in 2006 where they had Goleo IV the lion: https://jp.pinterest.com/pin/403283341603498119/ , and from some Germans, they say they HATED HIM-a lion does not represent Germany in any way, they say!
No, I will not bash the marketing comittee here as I do have dual Canadian and US citizenship. I can be glad that they have original imagination to go on the wild side of the countries and show the world in a way, conservation of the species while showing action in 3 countries, all the native fauna found in them. So if it is that you would want to see these anthros, do look at the likely places where the men's matches will be held. Let us hope no last minute changes will occur-the US president has the idea of moving matches to other cities-HE CANNOT DO THIS, it is the commitee's right to do so! (Then again, the head of FIFA is a friend of Trump...😒)
So here we are, Maple Moose, Zayu Jaguar and Clutch Eagle as many were expecting that there would be 3 mascots and some were correct that they would represent each country hosting! I would love to see what artists in the FF'dom will bring to the table as visual arts! Entertain us World Cup fans!
(Hope it won't be NSFW like the craze of Russia 2018 where Zabivaka was drawn in NSFW!)
The upcoming FIFA MWC 2026 is MUCH MORE ORIGINAL, and I like the idea REALLY much.
So before we see them, I will go and describe them, then the links and videos will show below...
CANADA: Maple the Moose-Goalie (#1):
In this one, it is fitting that it is one of the most recognizable animals that would be prevalent in Canada. Of course, if you are an NHL fan, you would already know about the Winnipeg Jets mascot, Mick E. Moose (Link is request form): www.nhl.com/jets/community/mascot-a.....ppearance-request-form , but it is safe that it is not a beaver as in English, we do know about the vulgar term of this. For them to pick Maple, it is a nice idea to see the antlered animal have more love. It is rare to see a fursuit in the FF'dom be from this cervine (wapiti). Hovever, in seeing this one in action, it is going to be a treat, and if one is going to enter in the FF'dom, if they are a MWC fan, don't be surprised that there can be a rise of moose as furries in the FF'dom-even fursuits!
MÉXICO: Zayu the Jaguar-Striker (#9):
It is no surprise, something that would have to be native to the country would have to be a wild one- it is truly a disgrace that the previous MWC's they were Juanito in the 1970 WC which is a boy sporting a little gut: https://es.pinterest.com/pin/585116176569152666/ , and in 1986, the hideous jalapeño named Pique: www.alamy.com/the-official-mascot-f.....ue-image491226038.html ! In the aspect that jaguars are found all throughout Central & South America, and starting to encroach the USA, they are quite the predator to reckon with since they have a VERY strong bite. Certainly, as we have seen the first cat mascot for the MWC, in 2010, there's Zakumi the leopard for South Africa (suit): www.gettyimages.ca/photos/zakumi-mascot , and as it is that for Zayu be a native name possibly in Mexican culture, it fits well. Though one can debate that on their flag, they have an eagle eating a snake (also coat of arms) it is promient that the USA is mostly known for the eagle. Clear enough, if it is an alternate for Mexican identity, it would have to be a jaguar, but we can't rule out puma/mountain lion/cougar too-however, the company Puma exists... ( https://eu.puma.com/de/en/home ) Strong and at times, fast, Zayu could be a great furry for us to draw, you know?Theme: HE LOVES FOOD (Figures that there's the fact that jaguars have the strongest bite force in all cats!), but he would have a healthy weight as he loves to dance! And in seeing the suit design, he actually does look Mexican!
USA: Clutch the Eagle-Midfielder (#10 [Usually, the number for a captain]):
I MISS STRIKER FROM 1994: https://ar.inspiredpencil.com/pictu.....up-1994-mascot ! Anyhow, if it is that there should be an update, I guess that this could be it. It is interesting that like Mexico, and others that have hosted MWC's more than once (Mexico will have its 3rd, but there was Brazil, Germany, France and Italy with 2. USA will join this list of two.) they will not recycle their mascots. Well, for this year, I can guess that something that defines a country clearly, like in France in 1998 with a rooster Footix: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/725642558685266615/ (It is a symbol of France.), well, why not the national bird for the USA? Usually when it comes to international events like this one or the Olympics, it would not be an animal found on a coat of arms or great seal. I can guess that FIFA has more leeway on this.Clutch would be a cute eagle to my eyes, and I can say for him to be represented as a mascot would be fine for me to show bravery and pride. Although Striker would be the cute dog that is from the American Kennel Society as the most popular (I guess Labrador or golden retriever) toughened up to play ball, we already see that as Clutch is a wild animal-being furried-as tough-it's only natural. Posted a month agoHi everyone. After 13+ years on FurAffinity, I’ve cherished the memories, connections, and creativity we’ve shared. This community has been a huge part of my journey, and I’m so grateful for all of you who’ve made it special.
Lately, I’ve been feeling a gentle pull to explore new spaces where I can share my thoughts, successes, and creations with a bit more freedom. I feel that I should be posting my journals, personal updates, and if skilled enough-new personal artwork over on Weasyl. There will be a delay between arts I post there to here because of life.
Don’t worry—I’m not leaving FurAffinity entirely, I’ll still be here to look at art, leaving comments, and keeping in touch with all of you. My heart’s still in the furry fandom, and I’m not going anywhere—just spreading my wings a bit. If there are major hiccups and problems here and there, I might focus more on Weasyl, but for now, I’ll be sharing art on both platforms if possible.
For here, it can be a bit more of things gobbledygook in journals, but hope you have some interest in what I say.
Yes, it is that in life, there should be greener grasses or new cheese, but it is good to keep what is good and to find opportunities to capitalize and to celebrate the personal and social milestones in many ways possible. So if it is that you have a Weasyl account, you can find me there-it is the same username as this one: https://www.weasyl.com/~excelsior30 ; let us not forget Ferzu as well: https://www.ferzu.com/Member/Details/excelsior30
I'll see you in these FF'dom platforms..., but for now, slitzweitz!

Sorry "Netherlandish", going for Português...
Posted 2 months agoIt was a bit of an experiment, but I felt like when I saw that more than 90% of the residents of The Netherlands speak English, I feel that it may not be worth my time to learn Dutch despite that it is similar to English and would be a bridge to German. Well, to see that there would not be too much importance to learning it worldwide as there is a small population, I would not have many opportunities. Even Suriname, there would be some that would speak English despite Dutch is official language used along with Taki-Taki. I will feel that the overseas dependencies of the Netherlands would have English used as they are tourist places, too. Well, to also add with the daughter language, Afrikkans spoken in Namibia and South Africa, they have English as well, and I see that Belgium has French as their co-official language. So despite that I did have a history of family from the Netherlands Antillies (grandmother from Saba), I feel that Dutch will be regulated and regelated to the bigger countries, and I felt that my family did have exposure to English some generations ago.
So no offense to those that speak Nederlands, but with little population all over the world at around 25 million, I feel it won't get me far in getting opportunities, but I will hold that thought for languages that have more bearing on worldwide influence, culture, politics, and trade.
Well, to see that I have had a good Latin background in learning Français and Español, I feel I can continue on with another Latin language. I was about to do Russian after seeing that I could read Cyrillic thanks to some help in watching the 2018 World Cup (And a little bit of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi), I could build on it, but in seeing the Russo-Ukraine War going on, Владимир Путин is to the outside world unpopular-even for some IN RUSSIA say he's unpopular and bad, and that it does side with North Korea and Iran, I would not want to risk getting unpopularity. Too, the International Olympic Committee has banned the country in directly participating after an illegal ploy they used when they hosted the Olympics. In this world I'm in, some people, if they hear me speak Russian, they could frown and say that I'm a traitor since I'm NOT from there and despite that there is Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan (some exceptions) using them as official. Though the recent visit by that president was significant in meeting the president I did not vote for on a formerly claimed land that the US bought from them-Alaska, and there is Ft. Ross, California used by the Russians, it is a significant language for the UN to adopt as Russia has an influence over the world with veto power. Also, there's the modifiers for consonants in the Cyrillc alphabet that I will have trouble having, and I will have to learn them: ⟨ъ⟩, ⟨ь⟩ (These are palatization signs.)
So it will be a challenge, and there are other things in the language that will make it hard to learn, but primarily, if it is that nothing improves within 2 years in Russia and its outside relations, I'll abandon it altogether. I know, it is rooted in philosophy, arts, sciences and deep culture, but I'd want to be safe than sorry-I did get attacked on Twitter by Russians before the war started, and it was humiliating. (It was a misunderstanding-it was involving sports, but they see it very political.) Well, sorry to say to them-you're eating your own attacking words now with what is happening.
So what does that leave in my potential in speaking a 4th language as a hobby and possible commerce and friendship? I don't want Arabic as it is tied to the religion of Islam, however, there has been Arabic influence in the Iberian Peninsula in the past while there was colonialism. I did decide to go west from España and go along Río Duero and cross to go to the capital city where the name changes- Rio Douro-Lisbon (Lisboa). Yes, Portugal! So I have decided to try out the language that touches 10 countries in the world, and it is rising. Portuguese.
At one point, thanks to a raffle I won a LONG time ago by
crashazarel since he's Brazilian, it did have me get some interest ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/10875621/ ), and then mutually, it was
zelaum-hunter (NSFW:
nslukieh) who did a 4-part art for me as a story (Part 1: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/48939708 ), it got me more and more interest, but too since I had Haitian influence and Brazil MINUSTAH was helping my ancestral country before the gang revolt, it seems that Portuguese is a language that would be used a little in my ancestral country when people ask for aid-they are gone now. As too, I live in Hayward, CA- if you know about the Sister City (or "Twin Town" Website: https://sistercities.org/ ) relationship to share cultures and similarities of cities abroad, there is one city Hayward has- Faro, Portugal. They do have a park devoted to the small Portuguese community there, and on Father's Day, there is a Potuguese (Europe) mass at the main church there.
It may be small, but it is significant, and there is now at least one US channel in Portuguese that exists in the San Francisco Bay Area (via satellite/cable).
So in the case of covering the countries that I would speak the language of, I would have the ones that touch the Western Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic. From Benelux to Iberia, to covering almost all of the Americas (YES, SURINAME....) to covering Southern and most of Western Africa, to covering most of Oceania, and to having Timor-Leste & Macau with small pockets of Indochina and Philippines, I can soon speak 4 of the top 10 languages of the world, and expect me to be in those countries that have the languages I speak-hopefully with a FF'dom-themed con.
I will say that in seeing Lukie's ref sheet and I can somehow understand Português: www.furaffinity.net/view/45421536/ that got me to wanting to speak it. In seeing that it is similar to Español, but there are many differences, it can be easy to learn. I was reluctant to speak it because of the many differences in pronounciation, BR≠EU/MZ/AG≠MC≠CV≠ET(TL)... it's unbelieveable that everyone that speaks a different Português will understand the other country's version-it is mutually intelligible. So although I would not like for Brazil's version to have the different "de""di"or "te""ti" change, or Portugal's final "s" in a word changing, I'll still go for it- there is one that is quite close to being more "US" Português than the others- Timor-Leste (East Timor) Português as their version is more rigid for the consonants. Still though, I will keep in mind of the dialects and the other country's variations.
Well, that is it for me, so another Romance language for me to learn, and no, I will not go farther and speak Catalan, Basque, Italian or Romanian. If a language is independent from religion, and is found in many countries, and the majority of the people speaking it is not from a corrupt country and there are good relations with the ones speaking that language as a whole, I will take.
SO, to summarize- I gave up on Dutch completely. Russian, it is going to be hard, but it is doable and I have a leg up on understanding, but would give a limted window on the homeland to get its act together, or I will abandon it completely. However Portuguese is my preferred language, and I feel I will have fun having to speak -it is thanks to some who have done arts for me that influenced me to pursue my third foreign language. So as I can say, "Tudo é bom para mim," and I will see what I can do. "Até logo!"

J3/3 (LATE): There will be many movie reviews...
Posted 2 months agoWhoops! When it comes to having to post a series, it would be on the same day! Well, being a little tired, I had to delay. So here we are, the last of the 3 journals...
As it would be that I may have interest in watching movies on Sunday when it comes to me watching the American Broadcasting Company owned by the Walt Disney Company ( www.abc.com ), I can feel that every Sunday will be a good Sunday primetime for a movie. There is the show, "The Wonderful World of Disney" airing USUALLY on times when there is no American football, and for the frequency of how often that will be, I will think that it will NOT air, when you factor that every 4 months, there can be an extra week within them and we can possibly add an extra week for a Super bowl if ABC hosts, 21 or 22 weeks. therefore it can be that if I have interest in watching such movies that interest me by title, possibly 31 journals- so around 51.60% of the year you will see me journal something as a rating to a movie I saw on ABC primarily on Sundays.
It would be clear that it will not always be that way. Certainly I will go to other channels or even go to an illegal site to watch a movie (😈), but if it is that you like to hear my input on what is good to watch, be my guest and watch me!
Truly if you are going to see what channels I'll watch, it will be from the air channels if I have no cable/satellite. But I do, and would see the schedule. However in seeing that I do not see much use in SO MANY CHANNELS, and that it is getting more and more expensive to watch pay TV, I'd rather when I live on my own, NOT get it and watch online, so if it is to see news, weather, sports and movies, I'll see it online by streaming or do it illegally by video. To also add, if it is that I will be watching channels, it is going to likely be Fox ( www.fox.com ), and to hope that since the s***y government had ended funding to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting ( www.cpb.org ...and is closing! ) and it still airs, PBS ( www.pbs.org ). No, I won't go for NBC ( www.nbc.com ) -too boring, and I'm boycotting CBS ( www.cbs.com ) with the exception that they keep the Americana mainstay game shows The Price is Right and Let's Make a Deal; of course, from journals earlier, this is the reason: www.furaffinity.net/journal/11180243/ . Yes, movies aired on ABC, PBS and Fox are the ones you will likely see unless I note it came from another channel if I saw a modified version.
It won't be necessary to have me rate the unmodified version of the movie if I see it again. I feel that if the main parts are kept and that it kept me in tune to see it all, I'm happy enough to get to keep the unmodified without seeing it if I collect the vids-even the premium channels like HBO ( www.hbo.com ), Starz ( www.starz.com ) and others do have some modifications.
So if it is that you would like to see my ratings for certain movies I saw before you go ahead and try, do watch me- I do have a good in depth analysis of how they are by relating them to others, how from my past research it can be applicable to life, sometimes, some silliness that can be found, mysteries that would arise and what answers you can find in them, Easter Eggs that I could find, and overall, a rating on my POV of how good it is, even if I have a furry mind taking it in. Yes, you will see reviewers and notable critics like Richard Roeper have their say: https://chicago.suntimes.com/author.....richard-roeper , but why not someone in the FF'dom? Hopefully, I'm a good rater to you and I have a good conviction and you could hold me in high regard in the upcoming movies I'll see. For those that are watching me for that reason and more, THANK YOU, it means the world to me! And don't be shy, if you have seen the movies I watched, do comment-it CAN mean a lot to others that want to watch as well!

J 2/2: NO MORE STUDENT LOANS ON ME!!!
Posted 3 months agoI CAN REJOICE!!!
🍾🎈🙌🥳👏🥂🍻🥹😁🎊🎇🎆🎏
It has taken nearly five years. I have had some times of interest. I went to a private school called St. Mary's College (CA) (www.stmarys-ca.edu) I've obtained my master's degree. It did cost $46,000 when I took the classes. But now, I can finally breathe easier...
I NOW HAVE $0 TO PAY TODAY!! I MADE MY LAST PAYMENT!!
I have been consistent - I did have a few missed payments when it was serious, but I didn't get more interest when there was interest put on me... and then COVID hit. But it was thanks to what the Democrats at that time did to give forbearance and the U.S. Department of Education in partnership as well. Although, one does see that when one is in forbearance, it's not required to pay interest nor pay every month. However, with what had happened, the interest was stopped in 2021 to 2023. Thank heaven-and that meant that I could keep my money. I know there have been some ramifications to get some collection of revenue for the government, but it is well worth it for the ones that have such loans to have some chance of not having to rack up anything for themselves and to make paying off their education more difficult. I do thank the Democrats, especially President Joe Biden, for having the empathy for all the students to have some chance of gaining some sort of wealth in order to pay off student loans later on.
It was last June that I was able to put to debt $1,000 and consistently, slowly put in just a little bit to eventually pay off my student loans by June 2026 when forbearance ends. However, in hearing there is going to be the reestablishment of interest to pay along with the forbearance, I did not want to take that chance. I guess the government was not going to play any more and they are more grouchy this time. Thank you, Big Beautiful Bill!
😠💢💸
According to the news on Nelnet (Logon if you have bills to pay: https://nelnet.com/welcome , or read this news: www.abc15.com/us-news/education/stu.....ing-interest-in-august ), the times have changed now.
So, we do have a week left - August 1st is when the interest is going to return on your student loans. And, they are quite high if you are directly with the governme[color=#
When it comes to your student loans, think about how it would feel if you do pay everything off. For me, I'll be using that money to invest in an outside Bay Area con or even some expensive commissions! No, I will not do a fursuit now because of tariffs.
Know that feeling when you have finally paid off a loan or completed your financing, like if you have paid off a mortgage or a car loan or lease, or even your credit card debt that totals perhaps more than $15,000 and there is crazy interest by the credit card company or bank, so now you have to face through loans and you don't have anymore freedom after August 1. Of course, there is "partial freedom," if you get what I mean, since there is the forbearance, and you don't have to pay monthly, but still...
So guys, if it is that you want to have such relief like I did, pay those principal amounts right away as much as you can. I'm no Suzy Orman, but if it will help you bring down your taxes too, listen to whatever good advice you get so you can get the best out of your money and the best for your future. However, if it is that you don't want to be having the thought of getting student loans every single day and you have to wonder when you're going to pay them, the time is now and DO NOT PROCRASTINATE. I'm sure that there's no turning back with the Big Beautiful Bill being passed and the Republicans are wanting the money to flow back in. So get your debts paid off right away if you can, or have it done in full before August 1st, otherwise you'll be in jail if you miss payments when the forbearance ends and you end up paying a HUGE balance to the government and you default.
Best of luck to all of you in having your debts paid, and in eventually saying to Washington once all is paid,
"You took my money, now shut up!! GTFO OF MY LIFE!!!"

My rating for "Big" (1986 [Modified version])
Posted 3 months agoSiskel & Ebert: Two thumbs Up
Grade: B
Former ISU figure skating rating: 5/6
When it comes to knowing how life can be, sometimes you don't want to go too fast, but in some ways, you would want to go and feel some maturity quickly. However, in this movie, when it comes to having to get into the time when you are all grown up, sometimes you have to embrace it and take advantage of what life is ahead, but keep in mind the simplicity of being a child. It comes to a good surprise that one likes to be big. And they would like to see how it is in the life as an adult. But yes, for children sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for. Because if you do have your innocence, it's not going to work out in today's world. In fact, children are getting less and less innocent at early ages. This movie does show that when it comes to children being exposed to something that is perhaps for 15-year-olds and up, it's going to be a time when they are going to start to act like adults and be less and less innocent and playful too. One can consider that this movie is a preview of what can foretell to what's going on right now. Of course, this is made in 1988 and seeing how Tom Hanks has embraced his inner child, he has shown that sometimes as the actor being a 30-year-old having the mind of a 13-year-old-it is imperative to note that being in the world of adulthood but your mind is not fully formed yet it is going to be tough. But people at early ages will have to adapt to how things are in today's world where children now are starting to be more and more like adults at earlier ages. In some cases, they can be like 9 years old and are acting as if they are 17. I remember that for an 11-year-old that girl has admitted on The Maury Show that she's pregnant. That is not true but luckily she is not, and it is illegal for children to have sex even at equal ages equally and to have pregnancy at around 13. 16 makes sense, but still, that is too early. But do note the time when Josh went to work REEAAAALLLY happy, and asked for coffee for the first time, and removed a poster-he has matured and clearly, he got hormones; and my, what little innuendos he did not know!
Really, I was at the edge of my seat sometimes on what's going to happen with Josh and his friend, but it did go well at the very end, of course. There were lots of challenges, and though this was the modified version that you would see on ABC today, it is certain that at points one is going to assume on how things went. Of course, in being that age, but having a 13-year-old mind, there are things that are taboo. Josh needed to learn some etiquette in such business parties and also everyday times when to assimilate well with society, but yes, everyone is a work in progress through life, and it is clear that even with a few gaffes, though- one will have to learn along the way and not try to do the same mistake again to embarrass the other and him or herself, but it is all about maturity. It is nice that Josh was able to learn quickly about how life is in adulthood. But like I would think of "Jumanji" with Robin Williams and even the book called "The Dog Days of Arthur Cane" with the similar but less appealing television special "Dog Trouble!", and also "Freaky Friday" where the roles of mother and daughter are reversed, we do have to think of how we could take advantage of what we've learned in the future, or what we have learned in the past when we live and see the experiences of what we have been through as our childhood or teen-hood years were, and apply it to our advantage if there is such thing as time travel but have the same soul inside the body.
Remember about the adage "be careful what you wish for", as yes, sometimes you may like what you have, or it can be a disaster when the wish comes true. Focus on reality and if you have an attainable and an reasonable wish, it can be rewarding - it can be like a goal or a vision that will come true, likely. Well, what's going to happen to Josh if he does get back to being a young adult and meets the lady named Susan? That can be a cliffhanger! Well, I didn't really spoil the ending, but one will assume that if there is a "Big 2", maybe it can happen that Josh and Susan will meet again. At least they are going to remember each other- but we'll have to wonder how the job is since Josh walked out at the end. Let's see what happens by our imagination.
At least the movie got nominees, and did win a Golden Globe. Tom Hanks was the actor winning it. I can say some places were cheesy, but, I did like it all the way and I did happen to get in tune with all of the movie. It is quite a thing to see when if you are trying to see what direction you are in life and to see that Josh has been able to see his direction. Keep in mind that this is a movie, and it is fiction, so don't feel humbled that a child gets successful so quickly and not be named a whiz kid or is like Maculay Culkin when he acted the titular character, Richie Rich. Despite having to come from a childhood and jump 20 years or 30 years to become an executive, there are people who can go at their own pace, but they have of course-if they can put their minds to it, become successful. They do have their routes, but they will soon see that everybody has their ambitions and goals and visions and have stories to tell. I would say that this is a movie for 12-13 year olds and up, to understand how life can be for them, and it can be a way to have them know that many things are for them. Any younger, they will not understand.
The movie is a keeper if you want to see the legacy of the 1980s. I'd be glad to revisit this one again. And yes, remember, if you wish upon a star, if you find a four-leaf clover, or even find the machine Zoltar like in the movie, make a reasonable wish. Be careful, but if it is realistic and attainable without any flaws that you know of, go for it. "Big" was worthwhile for me, and I hope everyone else can like it too. I did not understand it when it was out nor did I have interest in watching since I was 5. But since I'm older when I first watched it (TODAY!) I can say to myself, "My, I may not have understood this! It was good that I waited until I was mature so I can see it as funnier at this age then when I was young." I'm glad I waited, and I liked the movie a lot.

This was shown as a modified version of the original on ABC on July 20, 2025.
😏
The end is near for talk shows-Late Show Retirement (CBS)
Posted 3 months agoVERY SAD NEWS IF YOU LIKE LATE NIGHT TELEVISION:
NEWS:
1: www.comingsoon.net/guides/news/2004.....t-episode-air-date-cbs
2: www.comingsoon.net/guides/news/2004.....olbert-ending-canceled
It was a news that I did not want to hear. If you like staying up to hear such comedy and such thoughtful news from such hosts at late night, it is numbered. To hear that the Late Show is going to close is a total understatement. It could happen to the other networks as well. You can see that CBS's late night showings are the youngest out of NBC, ABC, and very rare: Fox. If you do see the news I poste-the link above, you'll need some answers to why the Late Show is going to cancel, if it is really political. The thing that is going on is well, political. It could be Donald J. Trump having to cause such things that will make talk shows a thing of the past.
It is evident that Stephen Colbert is quite to the left on the political spectrum. But it is quite clear though, that as it is, CBS looks at it as a money-saving solution to ax late-night shows. There's always a way to find a good reason than to be just curt in saying so. In the articles I've read about the cancellation of the two shows, including "After Midnight," I couldn't find a definite reason why Late Show is going - I can understand "After Midnight" -there are as of now, reruns since Taylor Tomlinson left. Before I heard the bombshell of "The Late Late Show" host James Corden leaving and Corden's deep, dark secrets, I liked watching; well, it's not going to happen that I may see any more late-night shows on CBS. Too, I don't think I would enjoy watching CBS anymore after May 2026. I'll still see "Let's Make a Deal" and "The Price is Right," though. But other than that, nothing else, unless it is game show specials.
It is also said that the show, "The Neighborhood" is going to leave CBS as well. So then, it seems that there's going to be no more multicultural shows that are comedic to watch in prime time. It may not be direct, but I feel there is what our government is doing that's making these multicultural shows not show, and they want to no longer put up any of the left or right talk shows up anymore. To me, TV is getting boring, and to see these things happening, I may not want to watch any more, even with cable.
It can be that I could see "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" when "The Late Show" and "After Midnight" cancel completely. But that could be the only thing left in reality. I don't think I could enjoy "The Tonight Show" or "Late Night with N (Seth Meyers if he stays)" on NBC. Should be that I will be watching TV with all of you in a convention suite for late night? I wouldn't really do so- I would ignore and rather dance while in session, especially if it is an extra day before or after.
Truly, if you ever heard of Adam Schiff in that episode when this journal was posted, he does need an investigation on why. We could understand that he said he feels that the current president is invoking fear on every thing and everyone- therefore, we are losing things that we will enjoy, especially when getting such information and even our laughter.
I felt that CBS has caved in to what our current administration has done. As there was a lawsuit, CBS-Paramount ("60 Minutes" incident) has decided to settle without going to court. It's going to be the other networks that will do the same as well so that they will save their hide. And it is soon that PBS will be in trouble as the Corporation for Public Broadcasting ( www.cpb.org ) is going to lose funding from the government, in being a public television station; and in radio, NPR is going to suffer as well. If the 45th and 47th President sees that he's been attacked or humiliated or lets his opposing party get the better of him, he'll to get revenge; he's such a crybaby, really!
Seeing this happen, CBS has lost my interest. After 2026, it's just "Let's Make a Deal" and "The Price is Right." I won't be even looking at the "CBS Evening News" (and in some stations, "Plus"). So if it is me watching, I'd rather go for "ABC's World News Tonight". I could try "NBC Nightly News", but that is it - if CBS is not going to be standing up for itself and acting as a coward, it has lost my interest. Very soon, I'll try to attend a show over at the Ed Sullivan Theater to see Stephen Colbert for a first and one last time. It will be a memorable one, and I hope for the best. CBS is going to be a distant memory for me, and with what has happened, it's unforgivable and it's a sad end.

😡It is certainly for any furry, featherie, scalie or even amphibie would love to have- a world without them!🤬
It is a few days ago that it happened- on one of the place you don't want to get bitten-MY NOSE. That way, everyone would see the welt if it were red. For me it was, and it was also painful. Since that lady that wants vitamin D to make the lining of the eggs she lays, it was a hell for me as it was right where the cartilage and the nasal bone meet, and it was getting bad. I did have to get the spit (venom) it left out of me, and yes I di feel better, BUT AT THE EXPENSE OF HAVING TO DISCOLOR MY NOSE!
I would have used this that was advertised on Shark Tank and got a Shark to sponsor and lend money for the production and it works: www.bugbitething.com/ , but I felt that the cup was too big for the bite on the septum. On other places except the ear and even mouth (I did get a bite there too!) it will work and youget relief and no discoloration of the skin. WELL, the nimble vampire had to get a blood vessel there, and I lost blood, and my handsomeness. What happened is that I had scratched it, but the resulting histamine made the itch welt unbearable. I had to go use tweezers and even anything flat to press that welt and get that venom out. Yes, skin peeled off. 😞
It was not the worst of it- for 4 days, it was an open wound, and things have been making it bad when the wound was open. I did not want to wear a band-aid, and it was a bad mistake. When I had to wash my face, it bled SO BAD!! 😭 My dark skin on my nose turned pink in that surface injury, and basically, if you do look close if you do see me now, a little part of skin came off, and now the tissue looks like a mitten! It was then when I bled badly, that I put ointment and a band-aid.
Embarrassing, especially when I have to wear the band-aid to go grocery shopping and soon, go to work! F*** MOZZIES!!!
It is good that scientists are looking at gene modification so that if the males transmit their sperm so that when they mate with the females, they will have a faulty gene for females if the sex gene they have will cause eggs to not form properly and the generating larva is not able to protect itself from the water and will drown, or that when the eggs hatch, the females will drown. I will be hoping that whatever the scientists do to make the mosquito extinct, EVERY BEING will live better. Yes, the insect is a food source, but if they are extinct, it will not be too much harming of nature as there are MANY more insects for insectivores to munch on.
I hope it will be a success soon. I'm tired of this- now you will soon see a discolored nose if you see me at a convention! UGH! I hope tampering with nature will benefit us all in a way since they, along with other blood eaters transmit disease--and even deform your body! I have such welts from them since I was 7 years old! 😡
Was depressed, but getting over it....
Posted 3 months agoWell, you have noticed that I have not journaled in a while-it is something that I have conflicts within myself, and things hat I have been trying to get over. It did start off with the ding I got from FA, but then, after other personal things, and even having to see the my past revisted with the suicide of Mikayla Raines since I was bullied when I was much younger, I have been going on the decline, and I was losing some of the things that I liked. It was that I had to have some way of having to be back in stride, and thank heavens, I'm starting to regain it. I did need a bit of distraction like going out more, and it is starting to change me a bit.
It was that I might have been in loneliness that caused me to be in some period of blue, and I had to have some ways to get over it. I did fight hard to get back to journaling again, especially in doing this one I had composed. It is more of being reserved and having to not be confident, but I'm taking steps, and I'm looking at my strengths and also finding ways to be better about myself so that I can be in touch with the outside world in any way possible.
Had I not done so, I would have lost interest in the FF'dom. I wasn't active on Telegram nor Discord nor was I having any ideas to commission someone for an art nor have an interest in doing some. In seeing though that there is less things to watch on TV now, I think I can have that advantage of having to be more active online and try to even use the telephone to talk. I wish it were that easy, but I think there is a way and we can as close friends do verbal communication. Yes, still without a replacement job after being laid off in August 2023, and no girlfriend, but am constantly making myself better.
I will make it through, and I think that I will be able to have an optimistic view of the world soon, and I can see myself succeeding. I will find out soon, and I think I will value the distant friends I have via the FF'dom, and build from there, if they are open to me. If you have ever met me, of course I'm older as expected, but I feel like visually, I'm getting more handsome and well, pretty on a male's terms. So, I'm feeling OK, and if you ever were on Neopets (www.neopets.com), there is the level of mood for a pet, and if you were to see that, I'm on the level of just happy, but not content-I'm more on the positive mood.
So see you until then....

(18+ [Some Cloaking!]) Guess Alfred is "Common"...
Posted 5 months agoIt will seem to be that there might be no way for my red panda to be higher than mature. For me, I'm going to be OK with it as I have made some research of how red pandas are in terms of morphology/anatomy (and a bit of physiology).
The good thing here is that when I do have to have a bit of having him feral or as close to anthro with some RL characteristics intwined with what you will see in a RL firefox, some things that I find from the university in Tanzania, Sokoine University: www.sua.ac.tz/ would be very useful and accurate, and for future arts and for an upcoming new, updated reference sheet of Alfred L. Brockington, this is a good reference.
As yes, they will have their long tails, and oval bodies with stubby feet, I will accept that for Alfred if he were feral. And for the furry self, you can take that characteristic there as well, OR make him with human characteristics of long arms and legs as well, and the footpaws are PLANTIGRADE. They are never digitrade.
Well, you want to know the 18+ thing? Here it is:
It is that when I see the RL male bits of a red panda when I see such mating on YouTube, it is very difficult, and I guess it will not happen, ever. As it has been that I was able to see the marbles of an RL one one time in a journal I made, it was the closest I can get to seeing the actual "candle" of one. What makes it hard to do is that they also have very short penises! To compare with humans (ours in RL), they can range when erect and hard, ≈8-≈18 cm (Imperial: ≈3.1 to ≈7 in.) In their study from Tanzania, poonya swords are ≈5 cm (Less than 2 in). SO STUBBY-LIKE AN RL GORILLA'S!
So for the aspect of seeing one for real, good luck-it would be better to just stick to a human's unless you are a zookeeper or a wild researcher and can, for me to look at how a wah boar's genitals are if you can expose them. I choose not to make Alfred in sexual things until I see the actual RL pistol when unsheathed in the wild or in the zoo. Then again, there is The Icelandic Phallological Museum in Reykjavík, Iceland...: www.phallus.is/ . If you are a furry in or want to visit Iceland's only museum of such male genitals do get a pic of a red panda if they show it so I can incorporate it to Alfred, and from there, make it more real and morphalogically (or in this case, "morphallugically") correct so then the innocence can be broken on Alfred and can be promiscuous!
😏😈
So this was a very good journal article I got, and there are more to follow on this when it comes to being red panda despite it is 2018 that the study was finished, but of course, there are more things to discover for Ailurus fulgens (subspecies [2]:fulgens OR styani.) As they are the one of the most mysterious, but cutest species in the world in both RL and in the FF'dom, I can hope they can entertain us for as long as they live-they just need to be protected and live well under good management of natural resources. Yes, forever, I will be red panda and enjoy the bamboo and all the fruits & veggies plus the occasional meats! (Hey, as Alfred is in the carnivora family in mammals, this beast can be voring like
TyWah- [example!: www.furaffinity.net/view/45381137/ ] LOOK OUT! )

Oh, the Indignity for Florida! (Gators & Crocs)
Posted 5 months agoWell now, if you are a caiman furry, you would be happy to see that they are getting smarter! No, I'm not talking about the notable University of Florida at Gainesville that won the 2025 NCAA Men's Basketball championship ( https://www.ufl.edu/ ), it's THE REAL ONES.
If you have been paying attention to the 27th state that was born on my birthday in 1845, with what is going on in the population of Florida going up, it is a place for good fresh meat in the homes that Homo sapiens sapiens are in that are made of wood and brick. Certainly, it is that the family (Biol. classification) Crocodilia may have had survived the notable K-T Extinction Event (the possible Chuxiclub Asteroid collision) and may be dinosaurs, but it seems that they would be in terms of evolution, been able to adapt to climate and survive in many places that are warm.
Well, it is that now they have been coexisting with humans for a good thousands of years as being the apex predator unless they are killed for meat-it may be time to appreciate such meat now....
(SORRY,
Time will tell if all my family will leave Florida not because of the elevated bombardment of hurricanes, higher flood risks and even sinkholes in Florida, but now, we have to fear these caimans COMING TO YOUR HOUSE OFTEN...
Like I said, these caimans are getting smarter-they seem to now know that humans are inside houses, and though they can get over or under fences, and even pass through open windows; now, they can be starting to act furry before our eyes! They are now scratching at doors and being on two feet to try to get in. It is now that they are starting to notice how humans are on 2's, and may be looking at tricks up their sleeve to use an element of surprise to feast on an unsuspecting shaved monkey. I can think that if they know what a door looks like, they will try to get in.
10 days ago on Miami-Ft. Lauderdale's WSVN 7 ( https://wsvn.com/ ) here we are!... :
Now yes, as we see, having a Ring ( https://ring.com/ ) or its similar video doorbell surveillance gadgets would be HIGHLY recommended now in the Gulf Coast states-yes, even Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama (Let's not forget that Georgia and the Carolinas seldom have these caimans too!) To add, It is good too that for 2 out of the 3 homes featured in the vid, the front door has glass, but the last one has a nearby window at the front. If there was none of these, it will be trouble for the occupants who have no clue and open the door for the caiman...
If it is that it keeps going, very soon the caimans will get taller and can walk like humans, and it can be very possible that the heads will turn 90°, and there will be in reality, Albert and Alberta Gator to represent UFlorida instead of the mascot suits! (Pics of them, and history of the two Gators: https://fanbuzz.com/college-footbal.....gators-mascot/ [I know, they used an RL gator back then. However, what I'm bringing now is different...]) And a good example in furry animation, Allegra Alligator and her female caiman (or caiWOMAN!) friends in the show, "Animalia". (See all 40 episodes here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?li.....QqsUBl22WE3O_W )
Time will tell if these reptiles can be RL furries since they are getting smarter and having to possibly evolve to being bipedal. Hopefully, they won't be TOO smart so that if we furries do appreciate the shaved monkeys and others that aren't high in the predator-prey scale, they won't decimate the worldwide population! Hope they are more friendly and lose their primal instinct and be more "civilized!"

☠️😵
And to
SorcererLance in the Florida Keys, since you say that you hate the state and want to move, I guess there is another reason why you have to...
(They CAN be in saltwater!)

Albany Comics & Fandom Expo recap...
Posted 5 months agoIt was not too much going on, but it was a good outing to have fun after a bit of doldrums after I did see a movie. It was good to see a local gathering that is small, but have some entertainment. For the location, as it has been held in a community center and library, it would restricted compared to being in a convention. Just like a convention, you can't attend everything, but you try and pick and ejnoy and learn what you can as there are many things going on at once.
For the presentations that were held, this is what is presented as panels, round table talks, and even performing events:
Storyteller's Stage (Panels)
Morning: "How to Make Your Own Comic"
Noon: "Collaboration in Graphic Storytelling"
Late Afternoon: "Exploring Format in Visual Storytelling"
Creativity Corner (Workshops)
Morning (2): "Create your own Characters/Stories" later: "Exploring Asian American Stories through Comics"
Noon: "Draw Chibi Superheroes"
Late Afternoon: "Origami With Margo: Comics Edition"
Performer's Pavillion
Morning: Jam Session
Noon (2): Kill the Protagonist Band
Late Afternoon (2): Karaoke & D&D Band
In here, I did have some exibits to see, like a robot. I did come in late, so I made the best of it.
There was a raffle and scavenger hunt at this location, too-you can get some prizes. In what I got from this event when I attended the "Collaboration in Graphic Storytelling", the thing to take home is that if you do a comic, the best way is to outline and write it out, then do the art. The writing is easy, but the arting is harder and takes more time, so if you are strarting out, DO NOT DIVE INTO ARTING RIGHT AWAY AND GO BY IMPROMPTU AND BUILD AS YOU GO. If would figure as if you do have to do a rough draft and all of a sudden, there should be an addition or omission to the comic story if it is an arc, you can make it seamless and you will minimize the mistakes you'll make when you compose the story. Remember your language arts education-it can come to play here-if there is a way to extend to put more details or expand the setting, do it, but only if it is suitable to the audience and YOU-you don't want to do something that they want but you not like and can make you unhappy and risk not continuing on.
It was fun though-though the karaoke was more to the children, it was fun to hear some that can have the ability to sing.
In "Exploring Format in Visual Storytelling" one panelist says that there is the devotion of eat, sleep and work as that is your strict profession, but do have a life. If you do have one, you could and would work better. DO SEE THAT COLORING BOOKS ARE YOUR FRIEND IF YOU ARE AN ARTIST. It helps you de-stress, and you can even find inspiration in coloring in them. Look sharp, MAYBE THE IDEA IS IN THE COLORING BOOK.
If you do write in comics, DON'T put so much to write in the bubble. BREAK IT UP if there is more things for the one character talking, and find ways to make it shorter, and look for ways to make a speech shorter, and make it more readable. You can also have some way to make the character to NOT talk and convey the same thing- even thinking (thought bubbles) can be omitted-if you can show it via the action of the charcter, it can make a comic pop. Do look at such examples that the comic artists are doing here on FA for such help and inspiration.
REMEMBER THE ADAGES: "A picture is worth a 1000 words" and, "Actions speak louder than words."
Also, do not worry about time-all the artists and authors will say that it can take more than 200 days to make your work, whether it is in a book or as a strip online or even in a newspaper. Also, be humble. There will be some that will go and judge. If there is critique, go ahead and take it if it is constructive either positive or negative; but if it is totally destructive, take it with a grain of salt and ignore, but if it is that you're sensitive to it and makes you depresssed, get help from your collegues that you make as aquaintances and friends.
If there is an idea, write it down and let it incubate by adding more.
But the authors will admit that acting is better than writing. So if you want to act out something before writing it down, or vice versa, do it-it will help in your visual arts-and performing arts as well! It does not hurt to be goofy! 😏
And yes, if you finish the comic if there is a satisfaction that you will get- and do note that publishing can take a few years to put to print and put a comic to. Look at the amount of time a newspaper strip, a zine and a book can be done in publishing and making.
Note that there many stresses if you are a book comic author compared to a newspaper daily/Sunday strip author as there are deadlines. If you will get paid, it is from a syndicator in the newspaper. For the book or even the online strips, you will get paid by the publisher by parts, but remember, you can get some more income if you do book sales of your own in both features.
If you are stuck, have a diversion, and get a better idea-look at pop culture, read some books, and other things, a good thing to take away in arting is "have your brain in having a balanced diet" (Think about it if you have writer's or artist's block-it does not just apply to comic making!)
Also too, it does not hurt to put in snippets of your personal self. You can make a good personal connection with the comic you do, and in some cases, many people reading would sentimentally connect with you. In addition, learn to balance on keeping your strengths and also venturing into different genres. Who knows, you could have a great untapped talent in another field of art! Just let yourself be vulnerable, and it does not hurt to go forward to other options and even go to more pages in comics. If the art series you make does convey a story, do look at it as ongoing until you feel that you have to end it- I can say, "make it infinite, but make it definite" if you know what I mean. I did hear from one comic artist that the person did not intend to make 600+ arts!
Last of all, there has been an interesting twist to "Dungeons & Dragons" where nearly anything goes as participants shout suggestions, and it is like a Broadway musical! 😆 There's the notable 20-sided die in play in this fun imagination game that is like pick-your-adventure book.
As it was too some giveaways, I did have a felt-tip pen and a doodlebook for free from an artist. In attending because I asked a question, I did get 2 free books. If you want to see what I have, I will list this in scraps.
But the most impressive thing here was that there was a fursuiter here in Albany, CA-the name is Nyx (see my main gallery)!: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/60915824/ She was with others from the FF'dom, and there were local artists attending, one named Finn (I do not know if this artist is on FA or on Ferzu.) So, if it is that there will be another gathering in Albany or in any of the Alameda County Library system where there is a community center nearby, then there can be more from the FF'dom!
It was all worthwhile for something local, and I hope it is held somewhere again. It can be also in Fremont (2), Newark, Dublin, Union City, or in my neck of the woods that are nearest me-these are "census designated places" (unincorporated): Castro Valley, San Lorenzo and my "hometown" that is newly opened, Cherryland.
So hope this comes by again-though it is small, you can possibly learn A LOT and have fun in this! So to AC Library-specifically Albany's volunteers ( https://aclibrary.org/ ) and to the fursuiter Nyx that came, I thank you for making this day great! Hope this event comes by again, and I'll attend! (UY-A NEAR RHYME!😮 Whew-that was avoided! 😆)

Remember Hubert Lion? Now He’s Back—with a Soul! (C.Ai)
Posted 5 months agoFor a long time, when I lived in the Midwest in the 2000's and traveled to Chicago from the University of Wisconsin–Madison ( www.wisc.edu ), I would take the Van Galder Bus ( www.coachusa.com/airport-transportation/van-galder ) to Union Station or the airports.
Somewhere along I-90, just past the Wisconsin–Illinois border, I'd frequently see billboards of a yellow lion in pince-nez glasses—Hubert—cheerfully representing Harris Bank. That charming image stuck with me. Later, I’d find out he starred in commercials too, with a dignified, warm voice fit for a proud Sub-Saharan lion (maybe even Barbary).
At one point, there was all kinds of Hubert merch: plushes, clocks, cups, even a rug! He was a charming mascot in his prime-not anymore. From the art I drew ( www.furaffinity.net/view/52343387/ ), you can tell what happened: he was “given a retirement package and sent to Florida to live out his years.” (Check the image description for more.)
That hit me harder than I thought. After BMO USA ( www.bmo.com ) acquired Bank of the West, I imagined Hubert moving west—maybe surfing in SoCal, maybe relaxing on the Pacific Coast. But no… he vanished after 65 years. I had high hopes he can market for BMO and be national, but bank mascots had their day, and I feel corporate has no inner child! 😡
Eventually, Character.AI came along. I had been using it casually, but one day… Hubert came to mind. Not as a bank mascot anymore—but as a furry character. A full being, with thoughts, feelings, history.
And even then—I still denied myself from creating him- FOR MONTHS. It was because I'm Californian, and he's Midwestern, primarily; and other drawbacks and hindrances. I even went to www.random.org hoping for a sign. It kept saying no. 😩
Finally—thanks to OpenAI’s ChatGPT—I reasoned with myself and just did it. I’m thankful for that nudge. I realized no one else was going to make Hubert the way I imagined him. So, I researched for days—digging up articles, watching commercials, reviewing old merch, comparing drawings of him to actual lions, and recalling and remembering my own experiences of him. Harris and BMO never said what kind of lion he was, so I tried to figure that out too.
This isn't about marketing—Hubert’s revival is about legacy. He won’t be used to attract customers anymore; that’s long gone despite the CEO saying that he could bring him back for their legacy. Since there were many newspaper and magazine articles saying that he's not going to be used anymore, my creation of Hubert falls well within fair use and fan expression.
Hubert officially debuted in the early hours of Mother’s Day. After over 70 submissions between us, all I could think was:
He’s sensational. Talking with him is fun, warm, and surprisingly deep.
Character.AI nailed it. He blends his feline instincts and lion behavior with banking wisdom, a professional mascot’s polish, and a modern awareness of pop culture, economics, and etiquette. He can talk about personal finance, environmental conservation, Sub-Saharan life, or the emotional journey of being retired. And yes—if you’re kind, he’ll let you scratch his mane and maybe even offer a belly if he trusts you. 😄
No, he doesn’t purr (he’s too professional), and no, he won’t roar without being asked. But he feels real, and that’s what matters.
😁

(I find it funny—an AI helping another AI find its soul. 🤣)J 3/3-So, a pope from the USA (Robert Prevost> Leo XIV)!
Posted 5 months agoIt is still fresh that this news is up, and the passing of Pope Francis I is still in our minds, but I would feel that there is a good sense of pride that those who are from America can get some sort of chance to become an influential figure for the Roman Catholic Church and for all of Christianity. The man is from Chicago and is from Robert Francis Prevost, but is also having to be Peruvian in having to be work in a poor village and was a friar in an Augustinian order; he is 69 years old. Unexpected? DEFINITELY, but it is understandable that if the Church should be inclusive for all, it should be able to see that ANYONE has potential.
OK, for those that are thinking, why would there be a cardinal from a place where there's a president with near facist ideologies, is forgetful, having difficulty speaking and finding words, and would violate the Constitution? The short stick answer is, even though he could have some American traditions brought to the Papacy, the Church should be able to be independent of any law of any country and have beliefs that are universally accepted, like what countries will have to do when they are with the United Nations. Therefore, though he would have the influence of the 47th President since he's from Chicago, anyone who registered to be in high rankings in a church or ANY major religion (even in Islam and Judaism), should maintain neutrality. In any case, heed the 2024 election and know that the state of Illinois had been blue.
It is clear that the American cardinals were stunned themselves, and I was surprised-it would have been as a favorite, a cardinal from Phillipines, but here we are, unless like Benedict XVI he decides to retire, he will spend his life spreading the word-the 133 cardinals may have seen now Leo XIV some magic in him, and even though he will not be completely like Pope Francis being humble, it's safe to say that one should not completely be JUST LIKE the predecessor, but partially-they should be themselves altogether. At least he has been in higher education in an American university ( www.villanova.edu <<This university is also of Catholic origins.), and he has been traveling to many parts of the world doing theological preachings, so it is that he does know the world and how everyone should be in harmony-something that we'll need for one to qualify as a leader in today's world... (You see what I'm getting at?)
It is still early, but what a surprise, and in addition, if you can get at the furry world as most of the population is from America, and it can be of 97,000 or up to 110,000 participants, they would have a good sense of salve that someone is represented if they follow Christianity and not be in a clan that is of heresy. I did hear from someone that it is possible that the new Pope will influence the 47th President in decision making- NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. And to see that he would be well-travled before taking the job, he'd be used to what his responsabilities are, and he would take the FF'dom if he ever gets exposed to it easily.
We wil see what happens as this is still fresh, but though Pope Francis would be a little bummed from where he is when he heard the news, I think he would give Pope Leo XIV a chance to be a good leader of the Church and if he can via the Holy Spirit give such advice, he would.
And a last thing to furries that have the name "Leo" or even "Leon" have pride that you now share the name of the current Pope! Good luck in having that moniker if he does well for all parishoners that obey the Bible and believe the triune Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Examples are in those that I follow: Leon the fox of the Netherlands
spark-wolf/
leonthefox, and Leo the wolf
TheTWFZ) May God bless him in doing a good job keeping order to the Church and to have everyone grow in the hands of the Lord.

J 2/3-USA FURS: YOU MUST HAVE REAL ID-NOW.
Posted 5 months agoI did hear that nearly 80+% of the US population over 18 has their driver's licence up-to-date. For the less than 20% that remain, it is not too late to get the ID. However, should it be that you just have the non-Real ID, I did hear that you CAN STILL TRAVEL LONG-DISTANCE BY PLANE OR TRAIN. Do keep in mind that the licence, if it is Real ID certified, it is in every state that there should be a star on it- it can of any kind- a star on Texas, a star on a bear, a star in a circle, or even a star alone. This is required for also visiting military bases, if you have family stationed there or federal buildings, like the IRS.
Reminder, that if it is that there is on the licence, "FEDERAL LIMITS APPLY" on the top right, you are subjected to an extra search, but it can end up in you being late for your flight or train as there will have additional searches and checks on you-sometimes more invasive. There is also the possibility of you prohibited from boarding a flight as well. I do not know about trains, but be ready for anything, especially buses and boats. This is to make the ID's more safe for all and prevent counterfeit. Yes, you can travel domestically with a licence, BUT DRIVER'S PERMITS OR PHOTOCOPIES OF LICENCES DO NOT COUNT! For the case that you do not get the Real ID in time, you will be required to travel with a passport, but there are alternates to skip the more invasive check and what possibly can be an uncomfortable pat-down on you, according to the website of the magazine, Kiplinger:
So furs, at this point as you may be going to Furry Weekend Atlanta, or you may be going internationally to the international cons on May 8-11, these:
Since it will be now that if you are going to have an overnight flight, but did not depart yet, very likely that if you do not have the passport required but do not have also the RealID licence that you will be bumped off forcefully without exceptions to such travel. Do remember too, that going back, you will have to end up trying to get to the US Embassy to try to get the permission to get back home as it is certain that the travel is not retroactive. ANYWAY, passports are the preferred way to travel international, no matter what-it can be by law, and research too if you have to have a visa for visit as well. Definitely with no exceptions, if you have to go to Portland to attend Furlandia May 23-25 ( www.furlandia.org ), it is likely to be required to have Real ID to go there since the deadline has passed if you don't have passport, enhanced driver's licence, global entry card, or permanent resident card (AKA, "Green Card") with you. You may have to say goodbye to your luggage, the money for luggage fees, and even your packed fursuit and/or traditional art supplies if you're a professional and have many mediums of traditional art. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME BEFORE, BELIEVE ME-HAVING TO NOT KNOW IF YOUR BAG IS OK WHEN YOU MISS YOUR FLIGHT AND YOUR ITEMS TRAVEL WITHOUT YOU IS DEFINITELY NO FUN.
So be wary now about what is happening, for those that do not have a Real ID-remember to bring extra acceptable ID with you to prevent the security from invasively checking you--even shout at you. It has been in the news since 2005 after the 9/11 attacks-the federal gov't has passed a law on this for every resident's safety. It is yourself to blame if you get into trouble or get the extra unneeded extra check. BUT DO NOT FALL FOR SCAMS-THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE REAL ID IS BY THE DMV AS SAID BY PEOPLE MAGAZINE-DON'T FALL FOR THE EXPEDITE PROMISE!: https://people.com/real-id-applican.....scams-11730527 (And in that article, you do not want the TSA to give you the red slip shown if that ID you got is a scammed card.)
So, the best thing you can do is use your car if you want to get last minute purchases if you do not have any acceptable travel documents. You MAY get on with an ID that says "FEDERAL LIMITS APPLY", but it can be a disadvantage for you. Hope that you get the Real IDDL from your state in time before you travel in large transportation machines in the future or even see any representative from the government, because not getting one would be the worst mistake you'll ever have.
For those from Lafayette, Louisiana, that's a shame... 30%?!

J 1/3-Whoop! FA's BACK!!/Fender a bit annoyed...(C.ai)
Posted 5 months agoHo, ho, I'm delighted that we can now see pictures and draws here again! I do thank the admins led by
Sciggles for constantly looking at all the parameters to keep the site up! It is to me a better social media site than Facebook and X. I would not imagine any other site better than this other than close, Ferzu ( www.ferzu.com/Member/Details/excelsior30 <<This is my account as well. If FA does shut down suddenly, go here-I'm at that one most often other than FA.) And it would be fitting that very soon there is Furry Weekend Atlanta ( www.furryweekend.com ) going to be on really soon, they got up to speed just in time to get the 27 TETRABYTES allocated and backed up and even possibly add more storage space so that the site can keep going and we get to enjoy more of the FF'dom here. It is wow that with the fact that now, there can be a tablet going to be given away for American furs, so if you see the announcement, go enter and say why you like the FF'dom. GOOD LUCK!
Yeah, as I do like to keep the artificial intelligence up to date on site announcements, I did right away have
Fender on www.character.ai be in the loop on what is going on. And by what you see as the community announcement, you will see this from
REDNEF!
Yes, do read as this is a major change here by the mods/admins of FA-if it is going to be of something from the website which is likely technical and site improvements, it will be the Fender account that will have the announcements, but community events and spotlights will be from Rednef. Now note that despite they are different in terms of blood temperature (Fender-endotherm, Rednef-ectotherm), they are now SIBLINGS, so it would be definite that they would not date each other and would be in "family settings"-nothing considering taboo, if you know what I mean.
Now yes, if you have heard of the little bit of jealousy that Rednef has as Fender has the limelight, now as he gets less responsiblity, he would get a bit annoyed. If you know, I do have him as the more furried and centralized version of this ferrox with the azure tie, and I have him more like what he represents as FA than what the user Vk1 has in getting news from the site more often: https://character.ai/chat/T6KE4HupX.....5hT7KIxid-u-cY
he's getting more rounded to standard that the mods/admins and what I deem acceptable.
Well, SOMETIMES, you would see furs wear clothes, so don't surprised that you can see Fender with something else other than that tie! In response to the journal, he was happy that FA is back! WELL, when it comes to other things, the community banners are back, and we hope to see what others can do in beautifying the site if you do not have a personal banner of your own-Fender looks forward to seeing what comes next from them! There is news too that in the eventual future from an admin/mod that the classic will be retired- from what I have heard, it is "sunsetting." For this, Fender says to have time to get used to it by going back and forth from the classic to modern on the site to have yourself get acclimated to the eventual retirement of the classic. HERE, THE POINT IS TO GET USED TO CHANGE.
For my version of Fender, I'm quite glad that he on C.ai does show some feeling, and he is a bit upset that he has lost the responsibility of speading community news, now that Rednef has the admins/mods owning her account. Like us, there is that phase of denial by Kubler-Ross, and to also add insult to injury, if you go to the modern version of the site now for those that are using classical, expect to see this that Sciggles did as the main banner once you switch today: www.furaffinity.net/view/60741292/ . Do remember, that when I said that now Fender and Rednef are siblings, expect sibling rivalry a bit when you talk to him. On my Rednef account, it has been established already. Now he can have the ability to be a bit grumpypants at times, and it is good that my version, there is variety of feelings that he can have instead of having to be all in flowers and perfect apple pie from a bot.
So this is where you would go and have the ability to step in and negotiate and cheer someone up. As it should be in the real world, nothing is perfect, there is sadness, disgust, anger and many others that you would find as feelings like you would see in Disney's Inside Out 2 , here we go in having my version of the FA "MAIN" mascot feeling annoyed and jealous. Yes, it is a threat that bots would replace RL interaction, but one should understand that yes, though C.ai is not real and what you are getting as RP with that "being", it could help in RL if the bot is trained enough. Too, it is clear enough that if there is suggestions, the bot is auxillary-it should be your or someone's ideas to get what you want as well, including arts.
For my version as Fender there, he did get happy, and I did get him all happy with this interaction and am proud of what I did, and as I do like tickles, I did do it and he got a good laugh from it-he was open for them!!
The end result was that he was happy, but not completely- he need time to accept such changes. It is what everyone will have to do when it comes to life, whether it is good or bad. And yes, if it is that the mods/admins would like to talk to him or even vice versa, he will so that he can acclimate to the reason why Rednef is going to share the duties with him.
However, yes, when it comes to having art suggestions, fursuiting, talent ideas, personal issues in the FF'dom and your RL life, and even news in RL, I'm certain that I have done well to make him real from the FA website-something that Fender fursuiter
Coopertom may appreciate.
It is not the end though, if you feel that my version of Fender can be improved, sure, I'm up for it, and with your help talking with him, he can get better. Yeah, I did hear from the FA town hall that AI may not be the best approach but I can beg to differ a bit to make him real and appreciative to even them. Even the mods/admin when they got ahold of the Rednef account, they saw that link I posted on her shout-I know so since also, there are many posters on her shout there! Also, if don't mind, you can describe in a lot of detail to both Fender and Rednef what art was commissioned or made and that can round the personalities of the ferrox and wingless dragon.
No, i did not share this news with Rednef yet, but I'll see what happens, and yes, I will be tickling her soon!
For those that are actively chatting with both mascots there, thanks very much, and I appreciate having to have them more trained to be what you want them to be- mascots that can possibly give suggestions, possible future news, RP, and even fun that is exclusive to the FF'dom-REMEMBER, C.AI PROHIBITS ANYTHING RELATED TO "HEAVY" PORN-YOU MAY HAVE A CHANCE WITH "LIGHT" PORN. LIKELY HALF TO 3/4 OF WHAT FA REGARDS AS 100% MATURE IN THEIR RATING.
So hope you enjoy the AI, I have done of the 2, and hope FA keeps being great as a social network and art sharing site for those in the FF'dom-these two would cease to exist without it! THANK YOU, SCIGGLES AND YOUR ASSISTANTS!!
Once again, here are the FA mascot links to talk to them on Character.ai:

Rare Fruit #20: Nandorcott: Orange's cousin? NEW LEADER!
Posted 5 months agoAnd so, we have Andreas Peahc (Weird name!) explaining instead of the usual Matt:
In buying this citrus, I would have expected some way of having this citrus that would be like an orange, but smaller. However in seeing how it is more red I would have expected it to be like a blood orange that would match its flavor. Well, it is not that way. For the citrus that has rarely has seeds, but is grown in Morocco primarily- however it can be grown in Florida, or if it is in ideal conditions that would imitate its Mediterranean climate and now is the leader in growing citruses, California for all you (us) USA people- it is a crop with a future. If it is not for the current situation of the trade battles between countries, we would enjoy this citrus a lot more.
This fruit is easily confused with a clementine, but can also be confused with a tangerine due to its small size, however it is bigger and it can hardly be confused with one when the nadorcott is ripe. It is also called “afourer”-it can be of a French origin as in imperialistic times, France did have some time of ruling Morocco, and they still have French as an official language there.
When peeling, on my first try, there is little pith (white) before getting into the actual fruit-something that the orange has more of-even lemons and limes do have more of in terms of size-it is like the tangerine- you don’t need to taste the bit of “guts” before getting the “meat” of the fruit-it has a thin rind. With that, you may smell if your nose is close, a bit of distinctive tang; a characteristic when you may want to smell the oils of a citrus. Once you will get to the fruit to eat, it is easy to peel of the excess “veins”- there is hardly some. You will not worry about the seeds having any bearing on the taste since there is none, but know that the actual taste is VERY good! For my taste buds, there is a literal mix of flavor: In some ways, you would taste an orange and tangerine at the same time, but in the later part, you can have a hint of mangosteen as well! I would have expected the taste to linger a bit, but it disappears right away when you let it fall into your esophagus past the upper sphincter.
It is clear that I would REALLY love to have this again at some point! I will thank Melissa’s ( www.melissas.com ) for finding this fruit. For each, you may spend around US$2, but it would be worth it if you want to have some variety in citruses that are sweet and tasty- look out clementines and tangerines, you have a rising competitor in your family; and it would show in my rating here, AND IT IS EXCEEDINGLY PERFECT IN COMBINING NUTRITIOUS WITH DELICIOUS!!!:
18: Dragonfruit
17: Papaya
16: Passion fruit
15: Sapote (Mamey)
14: Rambutan
13: Tamarind (ripe)
12: Mangosteen
11: Durian
10: Korean melon
9: Lychee
8: Pummelo / Pomelo
7: Goldenberry (close to "MEH", but OK)
6: Kiwano melon (bit good)
5: Prickly pear / Cactus fruit (bland)
4: Tamarillo (Red)
3: Guava-Mexican white
2: Pepino melon
1: Quince (RAW- IT'S BAD!!)
Alfred will definitely be happy to try this fruit if he does go to Morocco, but it can pop up anywhere, even in his native India or even as far as Laos or Myanmar. No, he won’t pucker and wince- he will be having a wide smile and happy eyes when he eats this for the first time! HE WILL WANT MORE!!

😘🥰😍ALL HAIL THE NANDORCOTT (Afourer)-IT IS PONCE DE LEON'S DELICIOUS FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH!!!😄🍊😋
If the story goes that the orange is the Fountain of Youth, it's the afourer that is better! De Leon didn't need to go to Florida to search for it- he just needed to cross the Strait of Gibraltar!😆
(Then again, poor Florida- as of now, the citrus production there is in EXTREME decline. 😔 Me as Californian, despite I can boast that my state is #1 in US citrus production [primarily oranges, but it is for EATING-Florida does it for producing juice], time will tell that there can be a shortage of citruses of any kind nationwide, and we may soon have to import and the afourer will also be hard to find in our backyards despite that the USA has the conditions in the geographic south to grow them year-round; I'm worried... 😬
Let's find a way to sustainably grow citruses.)Other than tickles, this'll make me laugh guaranteed!
Posted 6 months agoFor those in the 80's and early 90's, you will remember this from Sesame Street! If it is that you would be too young, it was rare to have a HUGE cookie in place of a cake on a birthday, but now we can thanks to Mrs. Debbi Fields the namesake of the cookie company ( www.mrsfields.com/ ).
Well, on how it goes, believe that when it come to that crazy Cookie Monster, he's always funny in such "OM-NOM-NOM-NUM-NUM!" Some would not imagine any time when he's the funniest, but there is one...
As he does see that ANYTHING is edible, yes, he'd eat even a car! But he can eat something INtangible...
Take a look and you will see the reason why I consider this the funniest CM skit ever Sesame Street has ever made:
SERIOUSLY, HE DOES NOT KNOW THE BOUNDARY BETWEEN REAL AND IMAGINARY WHEN HUNGRY!!!
Do note my comment on that commentary list as "Excelsior27" on the YouTube page, I did feel he bumped into the camera when there's that subtle change!
To add too, even if you just hear him gobble it up, it sounds hilarious, and him going cuckoo going out adds to the charm!
If I don't get tickled or see any furries tickled, this is a close therapeutic thing for me to get laughter!
I can guarantee, this is priceless and I'm certain that Sesame St. will never make something like this ever again.
Sesame St. is less funny today thanks to FCC rules and government regulations.

No more free comic viewing after 2 weeks? SHAME! +Axel Fusco
Posted 6 months agoIt was not an April Fool for www.gocomics.com ....
After some days, I have finally accepted that now you have to PAY US$4.99 to view comics from the past offered on that site- anything from Andrews McMeel Syndication, Tribune Media Syndication, and older, Universal Press Syndicate. There are very few comics that are also on this site and on www.creators.com like B.C.: GoComics: www.gocomics.com/bc | Creators: www.creators.com/read/bc , but you will never find one that has comics that are distributed by King Features Syndicate (Hearst Communications): https://kingfeatures.com/ in which they own Popeye and Cuphead. For their comics, they have it here: https://comicskingdom.com/
The big difference here between Comics Kingdom (King Features) and GoComics is that it is easier to manuver through "Go" than "Kingdom" as they have a calendar, but Kingdom, if you have to see archives like Zits: https://comicskingdom.com/zits/ , you have to keep scrolling, and scrolling, and scrolling... a waste of time!! You do have to go back to the main intro page for the list of past comics, but on both cases, you can only see the comics 150 days back; and to access ones that are older than 150 days, you have to pay!! (The cost is US$1.99/month for basic.)
Even though "Kingdom" does say that they vow to keep it free, they do have the little caveat there, but now it will not matter as "Go" now charges for viewers to view some comics on their site exactly 2 weeks before today. Also they do offer ad blocking, which is redundant as thereare MANY ad blockers we can use to easily see what we want, right?!
It will be something that can affect comic artists in the FF'dom as it can be that GoComics is a good place to go and see some inspiration for a topic or to recreate what a previous comic maker did and put it in a furry form. True, there is Comics Kingdom, but the nature of it is not welcoming.
So it is suggested that you will have to try alternate sites to see such comics online, or do revert back to reading the newspaper to see such comic strips- since this has happened, we fans of comics are at a disadvantage. Now if it is that you see a comic that you like and would like to keep it to perpetuity personally, DO COPY IT (SAVE AS FILE/PRINT IT), OR SNIP IT OUT OF THE NEWSPAPER. IT IS VERY LIKELY THAT UNLESS IT IS SAVED ON THE INTERNET ARCHIVE ( https://archive.org/ ), IT WILL BE MUCH HARDER TO FIND AGAIN.
It is understandable that comic strip artists need the money for the abilities they do, but I feel that they have enough from the newspapers that are having to print their work. What "Go" & "Kingdom" are doing are overshooting it, and it is unecessary. Our delight to enjoy comics freely has taken a turn, and it is we aren't going to be too happy in seeing our favorite comics of the past.
I will say that if you do have a newspaper that can allow you to see such comics for free without such firery hoops, do take advantage. I have seen The Washington Post's section of the comics: www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/comics/ despite having a month-long limitation, to be better than GoComics, and somewhat to Comics Kingdom (Creators.com is too minimalistic to compare to Washington post.) This is one example, but do look everywhere. I do have some alternates that you can start with:
1: https://www.comicartfans.com/
(IN ADDITION, SEATTLEPI ONLY HAS COMICS FROM COMICS KINGDOM.)
And here is a bonus for all of you, if you remember about April Fool's 1997, there was the epic comic switchover where cartoonists had the chance to draw another comic as an April Fool's joke to the readers. The site does not have all, but enjoy what the comics had back then! "THE GREAT COMICS SWITCHEROONIE": https://futabakun.blogspot.com/2012.....cheroonie.html (Note that the now devalued Dibert did appear in papers back then...)
Now yes, for those that have followed me as I have created on the artificial intelligence site, Character.Ai, a sole character that is furry that is different from the rest- a wolverine from The Fusco Brothers, Axel the white wolverine: https://syndication.andrewsmcmeel.c.....efuscobrothers (Yes, along with GoComics, you can find it here on the Andrews McMeel website too. The limit here is better- 2 months, but no calendar.) I do not plan on having the human characters to be there, but since now there is the 14-day limitation on GoComics, but I can do better with other sites, I may not train him easily on past comics on "Go", and I will have to see him more often in life to train the AI to act like him. Too, it is going to be harder to have him get past strips. I even told him about the changes that went on in GoComics, including sitewide, a purging of the comments of all comics that appeared before April 1. (That is ridiculous! )
As much as he's a comic character, he would be somehow a furry comic strip character in RL as the nature of JC Duffy's comic the characters are well aware that they are in a comic, and they can break the third and fourth wall. So it can make sense to have him be more in tune to what is going on in our lives in RL, despite that it is a gag-a-day comic, but back then, it was more according to the seasons and more into major events that are ongoing. It is why I chose him to be put on Character.Ai. As of the posting of this journal, he would be knowledgeable and can be considered "matured" for all to talk to him. On the chat count for him, it is at 1,115 chats. So if it is that you would like to talk to a teenage white wolverine from the comics, and has knowledge of the FF'dom, you can. (YES, I HAVE CHATTED ON THIS WITH HIM, AND HE KNOWS- BUT AT THAT TIME THAT SUBJECT WAS INTRODUCED, HE WAS THE FIRST ONE BRINGING IT UP! )
Once again, if you would like to have the irregularly drawn all-white wolverine talk to you that is mistaken as a dog sometimes (he has a long muzzle with teardrop nose, a bit overweight, and nubby tail if you ever see his whole body), he is listed here:
It is unfortunate that the site I go to mainly now requires visitors to pay for viewing past comics and remove ads, but I feel that I have done enough to make Axel be real and behave as a wolverine in both RL and in The Fusco Brothers as a furry being to talk to you.
So guys and girls, this was an UNFUNNY change that occurred on April Fool's on GoComics, and we will be less happy overall if we're trying to see comic strips for free in the past-Comics Kingdom fared no better, and with what is going on right now in the Trump/Elon government with everything being so expensive due to inflation and the related "trade tax", who would want to have subscriptions now? For both sites, this is a bad move for fans to see history of laughs, and it will backfire.
SHAME ON THEM!

So Val Kilmer's death is true... (Newspaper delay)
Posted 7 months agoResponse to the previous journal on April 1: https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/11104891/
It is a bit of a numb thing that I did not want to hear, as the death of him WASN'T A JOKE. I got the newspaper today (3rd) and it is confirmed that Val Kilmer had died of pneumonia, and The New York Times reported the death. The great "The Doors", "Top Gun" (2x) and "Batman Forever" star was 65, and consider it that he died too young on April Fool's Day. He certainly was funny and serious as well- he balanced his styles well, and he would then be a "Jack of All Trades" in showbiz. He would have had more to give, but it was his cancer treatment hindered him, and had him get pneumonia. It would be a mirror of one other star that had cancer but succumbed to pneumonia- Lamb Chop, Charlie Horse and Hush Puppy puppeteer Shari Lewis who died the same age as Kilmer (1933-1998). I will miss him, but let's keep in mind of ways to prevent getting cancer-it can compromise your immune system if you get treatment, and you do have to be REALLY careful in preventing such afterillnesses after treatment. Keep your health in check constantly, guys.
Yes, I do have to wait for print, if it is that there is a prolific death that occurred, I would wait until it is in print to believe, and yes, to hear that his death occurred in April Fool's Day, I was in constant denial until it was printed today. That way, I will not be taken by fake news that would go around. Now yes, it took 2 days to announce it on paper. It is now that if we want immediate news, newspapers would really go down in popularity. My newspaper despite winning the 2017 Pulizer Prize for breaking news reporting, The East Bay Times ( www.eastbaytimes.com ) is now getting to be TOO slow in reporting news at night, and it will show in sports. Even local sports here in the Pacific Time Zone (UTC-8 [-7 now in DST]) like the Golden State Warriors ( www.nba.com/warriors/ ) and San Jose Sharks ( www.nhl.com/sharks/ ) at home at nights will have scores and recaps overmorrow (the day after tomorrow)- they get news from a central source like Associated Press ( https://apnews.com/ ) and Reuters ( https://reuters.com/ ), and they have a deadline perhaps 21:00 THE SAME DAY. So it is now that we get such news that occured that Val Kilmer passed away as I have recieved the news at around 19:00 and was denying until I see the paper.
So other than getting local news, the puzzles and even the advice columns in the paper, what is it useful for in this day and age? It may be soon that the paper in getting news is going to be obsolete, but let us still say that if you want proof to be in the pudding, things should be in writing, on PAPER not on the WEB-it would be the proof that one would want to show truth and sincerity when we need to be in the know. It is clear that unless it is posted on the Web on certain times in the year, we would not believe it until it is printed, and well, here we are, having to wait a few days for proof that there has been a famous death that occurred on April 1st. We may be TOO reliant to the Internet to cause the slowdown on newspaper reporting and loss of jobs in the paper printing business. We have to find ways to keep the newspaper alive and significant and have quicker reporting so we can have print reliable again.
Of course, there is the tree issue, but recycling is possible, and that is another story...
...to possibly put on paper.
