Posted 14 years agoBeen going through a lot of personal stuff in my life at the moment. Really hard stuff but I'm hanging in there.
Have been having to go to the dentist for a while; finally was able to. They told me I had a lot I needed fixing, including a bunch of cavities and that my wisdom teeth needed to come out. I spent 2 hours in the chair and got half my mouth fixed, but they did so much work, have my face is bruised and sore and swollen. :/ In order to get your wisdom teeth out, you need a consultation, and sadly, all the places near me that offer them are booked until September, which is back to school time. In my program, I can't afford a single absense so if I have to get my wisdom teeth out during school..... Well...... that will be really difficult.
I've also finally been able to start my newest costume though. I won't tell you what yet but it's a quad suit :) My first one, so I'm excited about it! Right now, the stilts are 90% done constructed wise; the only thing they need now is a wooden "cap" to protect the pawpads from the weight of the upper half of my body on the stilts. So, hopefully, prepare for pictures in the near future!

Fursuit Commission Update IMPORTANT
Posted 14 years agoAs you guys know, I'm an animation student at Sheridan College. They work us extremely hard during thew school year; I literally didn't have a half an hour all year to relax and I'm going into 2nd year in September which supposedly has double the work (which I can't even imagine)
That being said, because school takes precident over everything, I WILL NOT be doing fursuit commissions during school. And it is now too late for me to accept any fursuit commissions for this summer, so if you have your eye on me to create a suit for you, you'll sadly have to wait until next summer.
That being said:
I WILL be taking drawing commissions during the year. Because school comes first though, I apologize if they take longer than usual to get churned out, but the option is always there :)

Fanboy Confessional Appearance!
Posted 14 years agoSo! There's a new series airing on Space called Fanboy Confessional; it's a series about costuming, anime, gaming and everything that has to do with that culture. Tonight is the premiere! It starts at 10 pm and the first episode is a behind the scenes episode about costuming at last years Anime north Masquerade! I've heard from a judge/costuming bigwig friend of mine that I appear in it with my Flamedramon costsume, so I'm excited to watch! :D
We'll see what happens and if I'm in there! :D This is exciting! :D

Anxiety Again :/
Posted 14 years agoSo, here's another post again about my anxiety issues :/ I apologize for spamming, but I just kinda need to talk about this.
So for the first week and a half that my parents were gone in Paris, I was totally fine, wasn't really anxious, had a good time with my brother and my friend, but then that changed. The tuesday that just passed, my friend and I were at the zoo sketching and painting, and we had stopped for lunch.
Out of no where, had a sudden huge pang of anxiety, lasted about 20-30 minutes, and then I was fine the rest of the day. On wednesday, later in the day at around 6, started having really bad anxiety. It lasted a long time, a couple times being a breathe away from another panic attack, but I took an anxiety pill, kept myself from panicing until it started working, and fell asleep for around 15 minutes. Since then, I've had some anxiety each day, not too bad, until last night. Took another pill, but hadd to stay on the phone with my friend for like an hour, and really didn't know what to do (when you're that anxious, your brain just can't stop panicing and things that are clear when you're not anxious are made really hard to grasp when you are).
So now, I'm back at home, alone. First time I'll be spending a night alone since my parents have left. I know logically I'll be fine, but it's when I'm anxious that everything just seems SO overwhelming. Please cross your fingers for me :/ I've got my kitty here to help me, but that can only help so much. Week and a bit until my parents get back and, as sad as it may sound, I can't wait for them to be here. I really need their support right now. Until then, I'm holding on.

Panic Attack
Posted 14 years agoJust as the title says... Had a panic attack last night and went to the hospital. Was NOT a fun experience; dizzy, light-headed, trouble breathing etc... I'm doing okay, just really shaken up; have an appointment tommorow with a therapist to help me with how to cope if I have another one, since I'll be alone for the next 3 weeks.
Because of this, I'm going to stay with my brother for a week, with a friend for another, and my brother for the remaining time. I've always had anxiety, but never to an actual panic attack, so it shook me up.
I'm doing ok guys :) Just, as I said, shaken up and just letting everyone know that I won't be able update in a normal manner.
To
your picture will be done; I'm working on it today, so hopefully I can get it done before friday, which is when I go to my brother's place. If not, please know that it WILL be done; just in a few weeks. My apologies.

Posted 14 years agoSo I usually don't like to scrap and moan about things, but this is starting to bother me :(
I've gotten a few people interested in suits from me, which is awesome btw :D, but they've turned out to be either not serious and haven't done price research to know how much a well made suit will run them or they want a copyrighted character; which I can't make due to possible copyright claims blah blah messy stuff...
Is it too much to ask for at least one commission for a fullsuit of someone's gorgeous original character D:?
I probably sound like a complete bitch, which isn't my intention at all D: I just would LOVE to make someone's own character come to life :D

Entered the masquerade as always in the Journeyman division with Buizel, Kecleon and Magikarp. The Anime North Masquerade is now an International level masquerade, so I wasn't going to get too hopeful about an award this time around.
BUT! and I still can't quite wrap my head around this but, we won BEST IN SHOW; that means we not only beat out everyone in journeyman but everyone in the entire show, including all the amazing, absolutely stunning costsumes. I still can't believe it... We also walked away with another award which was Judges Choice Workmanship: Wildlife Appreciation.
SO :D That means to date my costumes have won: (All of which are on an International Level)

For those who are going to Anime North and want to see me in Flamedramon, I plan to wear him on the friday. Because it looks like it might rain I will say the following. If it is NOT raining I will be walking around everywhere basically, but if it IS raining, I will probably stay inside the doubletree hotel as foam can get moldy if it gets wet which I won't risk.
I will be in Buizel on the thursday night pre-registration as well as saturday, along with my Kecleon buddy and Magikarp. If you see us, come say hi, as for a picture or hug! :D Be happy to see you guys!

Posted 14 years agoAugh.... I'm so frustrated/anxious/tired of this costume. I've had so many mishaps with it I wanna cry. Been constantly worrying about if I will have enough fabric, struggled for 3 days on the digigrade legs, which finally got done, and now found that the freaking fabric is nearly see-through; can see a lot underneath from colour shifts to the padding to blah blah /emo.

As I've said before, because fursuit difficulty varies SO greatly, it is hard to set a distinct price that would apply to every suit I'd do. Because of this, it's hard for me to tell you guys what a fursuit from me might cost. It depends on many things; digigrade legs, difficult or numerous markings, moving jaw, and heavy padding are all things (among others) that will make your suit cost more.
That being said, I'd like to give you guys some sort of idea as to what it MAY (will vary greatly as I've said) cost to grab yourself a suit :3
VERY IMPORTANT *** I WILL NOT MAKE COPYRIGHTED CHARACTERS. Please don't ask me to make copyrighted characters; I will only do original characters. All the suits I have made that are of copyrighted characters are suits that are mine or for close friends.
Fursuit Heads:
A fursuit head from me will start at $450 canadian; that includes whichever eye style you'd like (realistic hand painted resin eyes, cartoony eyes, follow-effect eyes etc.) as well as up to 2 colours of fur, etc. Anything with extensive foaming (for example big ears) or a great deal of different colours will add on to that price.
As you guys have probably seen, I do my non-furry characters in fleece. I will also offer these type of heads for those who wish it!

These prices do NOT include digigrade legs, extensive padding or markings, armatured or huge tail and more complicated features.

Fullsuit Update
Posted 14 years agoI realize I haven't been the most active updater the last few weeks but for good reason! I've been frantically working on 2 fullsuits that need to be done in a little over a week for Anime North 2011. I am making 2 full Pokemon suits; Kecleon for a best bud of mine and Buizel for myself.
Kecleon so far has his head completed as well as most of the bodysuit and gloves; all that's left for him is fleecing the tail and feet and he'll be done.|
Buizel on the other hand has a lot that needs finishing; his heads only about 1/2 done furring, his bodysuit has only a little work done, and I need to fur his feet, tail and gloves. Tomorrow I tackle the head! Hopefully I can get it done then. :/
Hope everything's going well with everyone and I will be sure to update tons of pictures in the next week or two! :D

I Have Returned!

I'm back from Costume Con 29 and had a great time! I was forcefully persuaded to enter the Masquerade on Saturday night with Flamedramon and glad I did; walked away with an award for Best Recreation in the Journeyman Division :3
There were some absolutely amazing costumes there, and I will definately update you guys and upload pictures in the near future! But for now, I am going to go sleep after the 10 hours of driving straight to get back home D:
