Gundam Breaker 2 Impressions and Video
Posted 11 years agoI recently got and played possibly my new favorite Gundam game. Gundam Breaker 2 improves in every way over the original. Combat is smother, customization is more expansive, and the selection of kits leaves very little to be desired. The developers even took into consideration those users who either cannot or do not wish to play online and many missions scale their difficulty based on that. I have little to no complaints about the game, its a blast. I highly recommend it to any gundam or gunpla fan. If you are interested one of my friends made an introductory video of her first play through of the first couple missions. Be sure to read the video description for all of the additional information she provides

Gundam Battle operation soon to include MSV-R Units
Posted 13 years agoWas browsing gamefaqs yesterday and found out two MSV-R units; The RGM-79V Nights Seeker (Or the LA based Night Seeker II, no one is sure yet) and the MS-06Fs Shin Matsunaga custom are coming to the game in March. Unfortunately...you have to buy either the 6th book of MSV-R: The Return of Johnny Ridden for the Night Seeker, or The first book of MSV-R: Heroes of the universal Century for the Zaku II FS. Seriously thinking about importing one or both...I really love the night seeker lol.
Anyone happy MSV-R units are appearing in game? Any particular unit unveiled so far you really wanna see in a game?

Posted 13 years agoFA, in their infinite wisdom, has updated their AUP. The new AUP does not allow any model that is not fully customized. You cannon post a photo of the Gunpla you worked so hard to complete unless it has a fully custom touch. Not sure what prompted it. FA lets various disturbing fetishes go without blinking an eye, but God forbid someone posting a cool model. Just letting you guys know.
Gundam Battle Operation Update
Posted 13 years agoTomorrow (July 27th) Battle Operation will receive a major bug fixing update. They are addressing all known bugs including the very prevalent bug were all participants press ready and the game does not launch. Other fixes address problems with custom parts and various other bugs. There maybe some major net work slow downs as they apply the fixes, so be aware of that.
On an interesting note, they posted a photo of a Gelgoog Commander type and an RX-78-2 Gundam standing together saying they are adding new units. Not sure if this is another event or not, but I wanna get my hands on both sooner rather than later.

New Weakly Series: MS of the Week
Posted 13 years agoI have decided to start a weekly little info blurb to be active in more than just faveing pics. The first entry will be the next new title Gundam in an up coming Gundam anime series. The RX-78-02 Gundam from Gundam Origin.
For those who don't know, Gundam: The Origin is a newer manga adaptation of the original series. The MS and plot lines are about 85% the same, some differences thrown in to spice it up. These differences, such as the Zaku II having a belt fed 120mm MG and a large vulcan gun in its chest, add a new flare to classic designs.
The Gundam in this series has a very similar frame to the original, though it has a different back pack and the armaments are also spiced up. The backpack now has three thrusters instead of just two, and its pilots left beam saber can be replaced with a high caliber cannon to give the Gundam even more versatility then before. In the manga the Gundam adds an almost Alex type Gatling gun in its right shoulder in addition to its head vulcans. On an interesting note, the new GFF version of this gundam omits this new Gatling gun, and is presumably the design used in the upcoming anime series.
The hand held armaments are the same type, but have drastically different designs. The GFF design includes the classic style beam riffle and hyper bazookas, but also has the Origin designs leading to some speculation which versions will be used in the anime. The Shield is exactly the same as the original Gundam, but is carried upside down.
This Gundam is like taking a classic and very loved cheese burger and adding BBQ sauce and bacon to it. It certainly makes it interesting, but a good amount of people won't take to it. I certainly like it, and can't wait to see when it makes its anime debut. This is probably my favorite redesign of the Gundam, there have been several, and this one captures the right amount of nostalgia and mixes it with some intrigue.
A down side, since it is a manga only mobile suit for the time being, there is a limited selection of action figures and models. I would recommend any of them to collectors...if you have a good chunk of change to shell out for them.

Gundam Battle Operation Event
Posted 13 years agohttp://pgdp.channel.or.jp/gundam/ps.....0712_event.jpg
Today, Battle Operation launched its first event, running from today July 12th, though July 26th. Not sure of the actual name of the event, but the tag line on the site quoted Bright saying: "What are you doing!? This barrage is too thin!" To help rectify that problem, the game mackers are offering two powerful support types: The Zaku Cannon Rabbit Ear type, and the Guncannon SML Equipment.
Both units are slight variations on there normal counter parts. The Rabbit Ears has has two waist mounted missile launchers, either supplementing or complimenting its hand held armaments now. Other than that, the only ascetic changes is the addition of two antennas on its head. The Guncannon has its 240mm cannons replaced with missiles launchers, other than that it is the exact same as it cannon version.
Its pretty hard to get these units however. Whenever you enter a room, you have about a 33% chance of getting a special prompt when you go to launch notifying you of your chances to get the event units. You have a 32% chance for the Guncannon, and a 35% chance for the Zaku. I have done two even launches but have not gotten one yet. I have however seen both of them on the battle field, even killed one of each.
Thats all for now, best of luck in getting your prizes ^^

Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation
Posted 13 years agoBefore I begin, this journal pertains to a free to play PS3 downloadable game for users who have a Japanese account.
I had been waiting for this game for months, with each promo video that came out I started wanting it more and more, making a spare Japanese PSN account as soon as I could; Which as long as you get free stuff like videos and free demos, its well worth the small trouble setting it up.
Once it was finally out, I was a little surprised at for a free game how well it was put together. Despite the graphics being less than pay per play games, the mechanics are solid. Even starting out you can quickly work to unlock various MS and upgrade parts.
The combat flows rather well, 6 vs 6 MS combat with vehicles such as the wappa and Magella tanks and on foot combat thrown in, making a rather unique playing experience for Sony-loyal Gundam fans (I know Operation Troy had similar stuff for Xbox).
The only major problem that some may have with it is that you have the "Sortie Energy" system. This is Bandai's way to make money off the game. Normally you are only allowed to play 12 times in 24 hours, and only 3 times in a row. But you can buy extra energy, relatively cheep, to play more.
Despite this drawback, its a thoroughly enjoyable game. I recommend it for any Gundam fan with a PS3.

Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn: Episode 5 Review
Posted 13 years ago**SPOILERS AHEAD**After months of watching the previews, I was finally able to watch the newest installment of Unicorn, Episode 5 The Black Unicorn.
The Episode starts right after Episode 4 with a brief lead in (and Aircraft control offices speaking in English). The Banshee is hot dropped from a Base jabber from high altitude and quickly descends down upon the waiting Delta Plus and Unicorn Gundam.
Weaponry wise the Banshee is hit and miss. The Beam Smart (making its anime debut in any form) gun that is wired to its right arm is a rather imposing weapon. Its accuracy and ammo capacity, by virtue of being connected to the reactor, is much greater than the Beam Magnum. However, it is questionable if the power is higher than the Magnum, though it was able to slice though the hulk of the defeated Shamblo with ease.
The big miss in my opinion is the large hyper-sonic claw on its left hand. It is an intimidating weapon. When closed able to bash and crush its target and when open able to claw then apart; demonstrated to a high degree when the Banshee mauls the Delta Plus into a large pile of scrap. These offensive capabilities come at the cost of an I-filed equipped shield, and the ability to safely duel wield beam sabers.
Content wise, the episode is far more story driven than episode 4, and has a good deal less combat. The plot is flushed out a good deal, setting up for the final episode (Maybe two according to recent releases). The Visit foundation is portrayed more as a scheming beast tittering on collapse, basing all of its hopes on gaining control of Lapace Box. The EFF military, including Bright Noa and the Ra Cailum, are nothing more than tools for them to use to achieve this goal. Bright, doing a bit of scheming of his own, counters them with the help of two old friends, Kai Shiden and Beltrochika Irma.
The combat, though short in run time, is satisfying. The Arial combat is pulled off perfectly in my opinion. Transformable RAS-96 Ankusha mobile suits make up the bulk of the units seen. I had rather high hopes for these units, but they were knocked out of the sky easily by the Gera Zulu's with jerry-rigged armaments from their firing positions on board the Garencieres.
The duel between the Unicorn and Banshee is pretty good, I imagine there will be better ones in the episodes to come. During the battle, the Unicorns weapons were locked, and it had to rely on a beam saber it stole from a Ankusha. Banager showed he was starting to gain control over the unicorn, instead of the Gundam controlling him.
The last bit of conflict came at the very end of the episode. The Nahel Argama and the Garencieres were attacked by the Federation's newest Dogosse Gier class ship, the General Revil and its large mobile suit compliment without the help of the Unicorn. "Luckily," Full Frontal and Angelo Sauper appear in the Sinanju and the new YAMS-132 Rozen Zulu respectively. Angelo does pretty much all the work, destroying 25 mobile suits single-handedly thanks to the wire guided incom arms the Rozen Zulu processes for all ranged attacks. The EFF ReZels and Jegan type Ds posed little to no threat to the pair, and the episode closes with a frame of Full Frontal firing towards the bridge of the General Revil.
Maybe it was bad thing to watch all of the promos often, watching and anticipating this episode for a while may have over hyped it to me. And I found it did not live up to the hype. A good episode, but under an hour in length. For its purpose however, it was the perfect episode, setting the stage for the final confrontation to come. Overall, I would give it a 3.5 out of 5.

Art contest idea. Acguy power!
Posted 13 years agoWell I was thinking of a fun idea to help out the group, and I would like to do a custom Acguy contest. I have been browsing Google and came across a few awesome parody Acguys.
The contest parameters would be take an Acguy and combine it with any MS from the Gundam multiverse. The art style can be SD or normal, and can be done in any medium (CGI, Paint, Models, ect.)
Depending on how much interest is show in the journal, I will come with with prizes and a more detailed journal with a more professional write up of the rules. Really hoping the contest will at least have 5 participants.
A couple of cool parody Acguys I came across:

Gundam Unicron Episode 4
Posted 13 years agoWARNING: There are some spoilers
Watched Episode 4 yesterday, was one of the best episodes of any Gundam Series. The sheer amount of action and types of MS on its own is wonderful, but the slower plot points were very well done. The two parts of the OVA I really enjoyed were the opening attack on Dakar, and the Assault on Torrington Base. Both battle sequences were expertly done, and shows most of the different types of MS.
At Dakar, the Zeon units are made up of amphibious types ranging from the MSM-04G Jugg and AMX-109 Capule, to the massive Mobile armor AMA-X7 Shamblo. EFF units range from GM IIs and GM IIIs to the Ra Cailum (Bright Noa and all) and the new RX-96X Jesta. Sharp eyed fans can also make out a new RGZ-91 Re-GZ of Char's counter attack fame, with a slight paint variation, at the very start of the pan around the Ra Cailum's MS hangar. Though Short, the Dakar battle is very well done.
The build up to and assault on Torrington Base, to me, are the highlights of the movie, even eclipsing the fight between the Delta Plus and Unicorn vs the Shamblo. During the Build up you see the Zeon Remnants come out of the wood work, some times literally such in the case of a Gouf Heavy arms type, and a Zaku Marine type of ZZ gundam fame. An ironic moment is seeing the hulk of the Pegasus class ship Grey Phantom (Which some how survived the assault on the EFF Naval in 0083 review. However it appears to have crashed and or have been scuttled in a mountain) being used as a home and base for Zeon refuges and MS pilots.
The battle of Torrington is a long sequence, interrupted at times to see our hero, Banagher Links, on the Garencieres reacting to the assault on civilans wreaked by the Shamblo, as well as a fist fight. It starts out showing an EFF naval port under assault by a mix of old and new Zeon amphibious MS ranging from a MSM-07 Z'Gok and a custom load-out MSM-08 Zogok to the Sleeve made AMS-129M Zee Zulu. The EFF forces made up of RAG-79 Aqua GMs and RGM-179 GM IIs are easily dispatched. The battle shifts from the wharf to deeper into the base, Air born Zeon MS on subflight systems and loaded in to transports quickly approaching and coming under fire from EFF fire support MS such as the very dated RMV-1 Guntank II and 2 MSA-005K Guncannon Detectors. One new MS that appears in this sequence is the MS-08TX/S Efreet Schneid, based on two video game only MS: the MS-08TX Efreet and the MS-08TX/N Efreet Natch. As the battle goes on the Ra Cailum and its forces, with the new addition of the Delta Plus, come to reinforce the base defense units. And with the help another MS that appears out of nowhere, the RX-160S Byarlant Custom, the EFF pretty much decimate the Zeon assault forces.
In the final stages, the Unicorn engages the Shamblo in combat, with the help from the Delta plus. I thought compared to the rest of the battle scenes this one was rather tame, but still a good battle to watch. I won't go much into detail about the end because the last minuet or so shows a very interesting arrival that is hinted to earlier in the OVA.
Overall, Episode 4 is the best episode so far of the Unicorn OVA series which has already been very good. This episode certainly raises the bar high, and I hope the final two episodes raise it even higher.

New AUP
Posted 14 years agoHello all. :userlollazer: has brought the new policy to my attention. Collectibles, such as cars, models, and so on are now allowed openly so long as they are presented artistically. So to celebrate this, send me pics of your Gundam action figures, models, and general merchandise and I will upload them to the group. Remember, has to be artistic. Good thing thats a broad term XP

Welcome and plans for this group.
Posted 14 years agoThis is a pet project of mine. I really do enjoy all things Gundam so I figure I'm not the only fur who does XP. So for those of you watching so far I thank you ^^.
I do plan to begin to upload a few pics of match-ups that I made. I in no way shape or form take credit for the designs of the Mobile suits. I was hoping that by votes you would, the watchers, would declare a winner. I would like your input on this idea. Thanks for reading ^^
