Tumblr: Art & photography (mostly photography right now, I haven't done much in the way of art since 2012 because of reasons) As far as following though, people I follow here are mostly for fanfiction reasons. I prefer to try and keep it that way.
DA: Also mostly photography right now, but less than what I post to tumblr.
Weasyl: I made this so I could follow people leaving who don't have a DA account. I'm not resubmitting any old art there, so it may stay empty for a while.
I'm not bothering with sofurry or inkbunny.

No seriously how do you roommate?
Posted 12 years agoI am super introverted and I have no idea how to meet people. I've posted stuff on Craigslist and a local mailing list but I'm not having any luck. I have until the end of May to keep looking (since that's when the lease is up) but I'm really pushing to try and meet people soon so I can hopefully find another person who is trustworthy and we can hang out a bit to see how well we get along.
The trustworthy thing is a big issue with me because I really just have the worst luck with roommates. If I believed in karma I would think I did something pretty crap in a previous life. But I am seriously getting too old for this.

Posted 12 years agoAnd if so did you use a particular website? Craigslist has just never been a good idea. Sometimes at first it SEEMS like a good idea, but in the end it has NEVER been worth it for me.
I need like some kind of super roommate matching site, like a dating site except just for roommates. I did some googling, but I googled the results I found and they were all mostly bad reviews.
Alternatively would anyone like to move to Florida with me?

Posted 13 years agoI believe this is the last of my G3 collection (who knows, there could be more hiding in my storage space*). Loose, some with backcards and brushes, open box, a few last MIB. There are a few baby ponies, some super long hairs with lovely hair, Easter ponies, scooters, as well a one of the big styling ponies. Anything left over from this sale goes in the custom bait box. :P

I combine shipping after the auctions are over for the most accurate calculation by weight. I have priority flat rate boxes as well as regular priority boxes, I will use whichever has the lesser shipping cost for bulk purchases.

I know you can't throw a stick at the internet without hitting like a hundred different shirt companies, but he's got some really awesome stuff in mind that really sets it apart from the others. I mean yeah, obviously the designs are going to be great, but there's a few other surprises in store that I can't talk about quite yet. So I really think this company has the potential to be awesome. Trust me, I'm pretty defeatist so if I say this has potential, I mean this really has what it takes to be successful.
Plus my bro is one of the few family members that I actually like so I want him to succeed. XD It's not just him, he has a business partner who is a financial whiz and an investor who is some kind of marketing guru. So this isn't just like some shmo selling shirts out of the back of his car or something, this is the real deal.

A question for lady gamers

My brother is starting his own gamer apparel line which will focus more on clever/artistic designs rather than one-liners and silly joke designs. He'd like to have a series of designs marketed to female gamers. Stuff that would really appeal to a wide range of women and not just "tee hee cutesy" type shirts. (not that there is anything wrong with that, that market just happens to be pretty full and we're trying to think a bit outside the box) They would be printed on women's style shirts (it'll be something a little different than fitted American Apparel tees you see everywhere). He's got designers of both genders working on the art.
If you're a gamer who also happens to be female, and you like wearing game-related apparel, is there anything particular that you would like to see in the shirt market or that you feel is underrepresented? It doesn't necessarily have to scream "this design is for women" or anything, we're just trying to figure out what would appeal to the different types of female gamers.
We honestly can't even decide if this is a good idea or not. There are so many different types of gamers who also happen to be female and marketing to one type would likely piss off another type. ¦D We're not trying to alienate anyone, just honestly we want to know what would appeal more to women, what type of designs they would prefer to wear.
I keep telling him that because there are different types of female gamers, there will be some that are totally fine with designs involving male video game characters and guns and junk. But at the same time I don't know if that subset would prefer unisex shirts over a specific women's style shirt. He's also thinking of using other women-specific clothing like shorts or possibly PJs (I think gamer PJs would be adorbs XD give ladies something comfy to wear while they play Mass Effect at 4am)
Anyway, it doesn't have to be just video games, we're also doing tabletop game related stuff (there's already a MTG shirt in the works, I've seen the sketch and it's awesome). So any type of game related stuff you think might be underrepresented or whathaveyou.

My Christmas Wishlist
Posted 14 years ago1. A race of super-advanced extraterrestrials finally show up and usher the Earth into a new age of Utopian Prosperity by wiping out all the jerks.
2. Yeah that's pretty much it.
Haha, actually I'm pretty good for this year. At the very end of last month I managed to find myself some part-time work, nothing too fancy, and I only get about $50/day on the days I get work, but you know what? It's better than $0/day/week/month/year. ¦D And I've already made three times as much as I had left in my savings anyway...
First paycheck I bought myself missmonster's DIY bird mask (and then she immediately goes and creates two more, dammit XD) and apparently my mother bought something pricey for my brother, so she calls me up and says I can get anything with a $150 budget. So I got a new monitor for my desktop, which has been broken for months now and is part of the reason why that new comic I started never got off the ground. (actually I've been re-thinking the story now anyway, so I may, not scrap it but, retool it a bit I guess) Or any new art in general, really. Working on my laptop is miserable and I am super paranoid I am going to ruin my Intuous working so close to what is essentially two huge electromagnets (seriously, the speakers on this thing will attract metal from three feet away, I have no idea how the laptop even manages to work). Also it can't handle big PS files. So I'm really excited. She already has it, but she won't bring me the damn thing. XD
So yeah, mask, monitor, probably get some sweaters (I could really use socks instead though, since I think my grandfather keeps stealing mine...) and I'm golden. Proof positive I am old. (that and the grey hair)
I'm also way ahead on my Christmas shopping, just need to work on some hand made items and I'm even done with that early. Though I had to give my grandfather his gift early, he found the package on the steps and they had their logo all over it, so he knew what it was and was super excited (cheese).
Annnnnnnnnnd that is my rambling update for December. Happy Holidays, have some eggnog!

Need some advice
Posted 14 years agoI am pretty much the unofficial caretaker for my grandparents, and my 85 y.o. grandfather has a bad habit of signing up for Publisher's Clearinghouse crap. Which means we constantly get things in the mail that are like "here we've sent you this thing, and now you have to pay for it!" Shit we don't need right now since my grandmother took a bad spill in October and has had to be put in a $300+ PER DAY rehabilitative nursing home (and the price is going to go up to over $400 per day starting January!) and just bills and things in general, we just don't need this crap but he's always sneaking it past me and then being "oh it's only $3.75, I'll just pay for it" and then they send more crap next month that he pays for and I have to freak out and call all kinds of people and yell at them. Because I'm fairly certain he's not specifically sending away for these things, they're just companies that buy names from PC and then send people things and ask for money. Or they demand that you have to mail the item back if you don't want it, so either way you're paying for it.
Is there anything specific I can yell at these companies to get them to stop? I mean it just doesn't seem legal for them to be able to demand money for an item that wasn't specifically asked for. I tried google but all I really got were results for internet and mail fraud and not specifically what I was looking for. I am going to sign up at https://www.dmachoice.org for him but that's not going to stop companies that already have gotten money from him like PC or Reader's Digest (also a guilty party).
Any advice or assistance would be a huge help.

More G3 Ponies for sale!
Posted 14 years agoI've got 37 more ponies listed on ebay. I'm going to clean up 13 more tonight to list tomorrow, so I'll get my 50 free listings for the month. XD
They're five day auctions so they will still end on the weekend.
Now I am aggravating myself in preparation for a bunch of questions from people on ebay who either don't read or are outside the US and feel the need to complain about the shipping price.
I had that problem with the last batch, and I took every damn international package to the post office and had them calculate the shipping and every single one came out correctly. So if they need to bitch, they should be bitching at the USPS. >:C
Or I dunno, am I missing something? Are other people are sending ponies in some illicit manner? (picturing dudes swallowing balloons of ponies. harsh.) I mean what is cheaper than First Class International? >__<

Galactic Barrier
Posted 14 years agoUgh what a TERRIBLE IDEA. If it was in just one TOS episode I might ignore it, but no, three episodes and it's counterpart (Great Barrier) gets a MOVIE. And there isn't a single canon reason for it to exist! And two DIFFERENT non-canon reasons:
1. "Greg Cox's Star Trek: The Next Generation - Q Continuum novels state that the galactic barrier was in fact created by the Q Continuum as a method of preventing the powerful being known only as "0" from returning to the Milky Way Galaxy," http://memory-alpha.org/wiki/Galactic_barrier Or according to the book Q-Squared (which I actually own haha 8D) Q IS pretty much the barrier, sort of. He's the reason why people go nuts when they touch it if they have high "esper" or whatever the hell.
2. It was speculated that the Galactic barrier was created by the Progenitors when they came under assault by the Totality. This led to the ancient race's downfall, but protected the younger Humanoid species that they had seeded on thousands of worlds. (TOS novel: Captain's Glory) http://memory-beta.wikia.com/wiki/Galactic_barrier
Both of which are stupid. The second should be completely ignored because the book (trilogy) is a massive pile. The first just doesn't make any sense. "0" (nul) is described as "A near-omnipotent entity" so right there the Q have him by the balls. What is "near" omnipotent to the truly omnipotent? :P And why the hell, once tossed from the Galaxy, would he stick around to cause trouble when there is an ENTIRE UNIVERSE filled with who knows what to bother?
Why do I care? I don't really, I was just writing a bit of fanfiction fluff because I can't work on my other project until I can afford a new PC monitor. I was thinking well, we've pretty much done the whole Galaxy, why not try and use the transwarp tech to leave it? So about a decade post-Voyager, probably a refit Intrepid class (or something similar, if it's works don't fix it sort of deal) that goes first to establish the hubs to open a highway to the Triangulum Galaxy (no, not Andromeda, canon already establishes that is a terribly place to head, and I am not counting non-canon game sources for Triangulum) and this is in TV series timeline, btw. Not that I didn't love the movie but I am so not going there.
OH WAIT, BUT THERE IS A MASSIVE BARRIER LIGHT YEARS THICK PREVENTING THIS. According to source #1 though, the bio-neural gel packs prevent the crazies, which the ship would have anyway. But in order to get across they opened a worm hole rather than travel through it. Don't know enough about the transwarp conduits to know if they could just travel through that way... I'm a nerd, not a scientist!
EDIT: I've been re-watching TNG for ideas and I've decided that since the Traveler can somehow get through the barrier, and Wesley at some point rejoins humanity after going off with him, he would have some ludicrous solution to getting through because he is Wesley.
Also if you've actually read all this without tearing out your eyes and it sounds half interesting feel free to note me. I'd love to have somebody to bounce ideas off of.

I'm starting off with ten slots, if more people want derpy things I can open more (derp is pretty easy for me ¦D) and also free them up as I complete things. One icon=one slot, you can buy however many you want.
My PC monitor has died on me. 8D In order to raise some money I started working on some MLP customs that are coming along pretty nicely (if I do say so myself) but I need more supplies to be able to finish them (nylon hair and more sculpting putty - the putty is the most expensive part). I had bought some new putty that was the same price for a pound that 2.5oz of the normal stuff I use is and it turns out I got what I paid for (a pound of unusable crap). I can use my laptop to work on small digital stuff it's just difficult and irritating because of the small size + widescreen. Plus I can't listen to the music of all the wonderful composers on FA with my laptop speakers that would be blasphemy.
If you could give me a hand by advertising this journal for me I would appreciate it. <3

Where do you keep your artwork?
Posted 14 years agoI'm just curious what other artists keep their traditional work/originals in. All my old work is either in a large black portfolio (you know, the huge 2x3' black plastic kind, it contains all super old college work and canvas) or a bin full of ancient pocket folders held together by gaffer's tape. (mostly Garfield and Schimmel XD) or in a pile on my scanner. >_>;;
I'm just curious because I was cleaning up said pile and wondered how other artists keep their stuff organized. XD (in the process of digging out the bin to look for an empty folder I knocked over a vial of glitter right in front of my fan and now it looks like there was a faerie orgy in my room ¦D)
There's a ton of stuff in this pile I never submitted, I'll probably put it up in one or two big files because it's mostly sketches. X3

Posted 14 years agoI found out about this earlier this month, kiiiiind of didn't pay as much attention as I should though. My partner just got his account compromised and I am on my way out the door to deal with my own. 8D Hind sight and all that.
