Looking for Artses
Posted 16 years agoI've finally come to the conclusion that my life is not complete without some art-whoring, and I'd REALLY love to get my paws on some pics, especially for my mate. See, he's a tiny bit hesitant about the furry thing -- he plays along, but is ultimately just not sold on it -- but he's an artist himself and a certified kinkster to boot, so I suspicion that with a little nudge of some excellent artwork he'd be won over entirely by the fandom.
That and, well, I just loves me some furry art.
Anyway, at this particular moment funds are pretty dry, so I honestly don't know how many commissions I could afford; I can budget for them, to an extent, but I'd have to know in advance that it'd be well worth the effort so I'll be very choosy about who I commission once they start getting pricey.
But that doesn't stop my enthusiasm!
So, all you fellow art whores...tell me: who do you LOVE getting commissions from? Who's your favorite artist? Know anybody talented and cheap? Anybody just starting out, or in financial trouble, who's offering good deals? Know any contests going on? Any and all art hookups, send them my way.
In that vein, I would be DELIGHTED to do art trades; I don't have a huge representation of my furry art up, largely due to having a broken tablet and no art program, but where there's a will there's a way and I'd gladly figure out some way to get pics up for trades. I'd also be MORE THAN HAPPY to do art trades for original stories or poetry -- I could write character descriptions, steamy scenes, stories, etc. for art.
Anyway. That's my plea -- art whore!
PS
I swear I'll get a ref pic up for my mate soon. I've got about a dozen pics of him around the house but haven't been able to scan any of them. Sigh.

Dusting this thing off...
Posted 16 years agoMan, I haven't been here in ages.
It's been a hectic little while of life change, but I'm looking forward to getting back in touch with my furry side.
In the future, expect some more submissions of art as soon as I get access to Photoshop again -- new computer, not so much equipped. Also, be on the look out for some stories based upon myself and my boyfriend, who isn't exactly furry but who humors me in my kinks :) I'm looking forward to commissioning some art pieces of us in the future. ((To that end, be expecting full ref sheets for us both as soon as I can.))
Also working on fursuiting; hoping to hit a convention sometime in the next year or so.
So....yeah. Keeping an eye out and trying to get back into the furry thing, one paw at a time.

Tails for Hire
Posted 17 years agoSo I was poking around my fursuiting endeavors last night (which didn't get very far--between the cat pouncing on the fabric every two seconds and me being generally too braindead to think) I was looking with a fair amount of pride at my tail (the only part I've finished satisfactorially) and was wondering.....
....If I made custom tails for people, would that be something you'd be interested in? I'll post pics as soon as I can get my film developed. I've only done two so far, a thylacine tail for myself and a ferotter tail for Pyro's Halloween costume, but I've been really happy with how both turned out.
I was thinking about $25 for a standard tail? That'd cover fur & shipping + give me just a little on the side. With my current ability I think I could do just about any kind of standard canine/feline/etc. tail, probably nothing really elaborate like a squirrel or skunk that'd require a harness, but I can learn.
My tail is about 3-foot wire armature, stuffed and furred, so it's stiff but has a certain amount of wag to it (since it's a thylacine tail, which aren't very flexible). It has a loop to thread a belt through. Pyro's tail was about a foot, stuffed and subtly weighted to give it more bounce and a greater wag, also with a belt loop. When worn, they hang at just the right height to make them seem to originate from the end of the tailbone ;)
Anyway. Just figured I'd poll for interest--would you commission a tail, if I started doing them?
*will try to get pics up soon*

So, here I am....
Posted 17 years agoAnd here I am. After a few years of chronic lurking, I finally got off my bum and actually *joined* the bloody site. Be proud!
Anyhoo. Nothing much to say about me, really--21-year-old fly-by-night novelist thylacine with pretentions of grandeur.
Although I'm a writer by trade, I've never written much furry stuff outside of RP-related things. I usually keep my "serious" writing separate from my roleplaying, and until *very* recently there wasn't a "serious" market for furry fiction. But that's changing a bit, so you can maybe expect to see some furry fiction from me. Maybe.
I do however draw. A lot. And badly. I'm getting better, but until I get a tablet that works properly all my digital stuff's going to be unbearably sloppy. I prefer doing photo-manips, and am actually fairly decent at those. By comparison, anyway.
Either way, don't expect a *lot* from me for awhile, anyway: my beloved laptop literally broke in half (the monitor...erm...fell off) so I'm stuck on campus computers, and I'll be moving out of town in a few weeks. Chaos and madness abound! Still, I'll try to be around as much as possible.
