U bored? I've got something...
Posted 9 months agoHi beautiful furs.
Whenever you get a little bored from whatevery you usually do. I've got a treat for you.
An interactive Whodunnit! :D
Last year, my crew Spotted Marten not just continued their work on fandubs, but we also created an interactive whodunnit (visual novell video journey) for our very first Vienna Furry Convention names Awoostria.
And I was lucky enough (and apparently not completely talentless) to get cast as one of the characters.
The whole thing was integrated in the opening and closing ceremony with clues spread over the whole lobby area.
Aaaand one person could only ask ONE question (out of 5) per suspect. So the idea was, that we wanted to incentivise attendees to team up and solve it collaboratively. And it was pretty well received.
But without further awoo, here's the starting video from the opening ceremony. You can find the instructions and further links in the video description(s):
(credits are to be found in the final video)
ENJOY! :D
Finally I want to thank all the talented people who turned this endeavour into reality, foremost our project lead and producer Volteer! <3

*Call to vote* - Juvenile January Singalongs
Posted 5 years agoWhat is that, you ask? Well, thanks for asking.
I plan to sing some theme songs of TV shows of my youth and childhood - mostly cartoons I guess. I might not take suggestions, since it should be linked to my personal TV-nurture, BUUUUT you can vote for your personal favorite out of the following (also I can sing them in english or german translation, if it exists).
Here are some of the shows I watched and liked (and their german title translations):
Duck Tales
Tale Spin (transl.: Käpt'n Balu ... und seine tollkühne Crew)
Rescue Rangers (transl.: Chip & Chap)
Darkwing Duck
Goof Troop (transl.: Goofy & Max)
Tiny Toons
Animaniacs
The Pinky (Elmira) And The Brain
Bonkers
Muppet Babies
The Fraggles
Family Matters (transl.: Alle Unter Einem Dach)
Full House
Friends
Out Of This World (transl.: Mein Vater Ist Ein Außerirdischer)
Charmed
The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air
Baywatch
Edit + :
Around the World With Willy Fogg (english, german ... or polish? :D, transl.: Um die Welt mit Willy Fogg)
Vik, the Viking (german only - tranl.: Wickie)
Maja the Bee (transl.: Biene Maja)
Malcolm in the Middle (transl.: Malcolm Mittendrin)
Alfred J. Kwak
Nils Holgersson
Timon and Pumbaa
The Chipmunks
Ghost Busters - in it's many variants
Adventures of the Gummi Bears (transl.: Die Gummibärenbande)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Captain Planet
Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries
Speedy Gonzalez (german only - Seems, there isn't an english equivalent to THIS.)
Alladin
The Golden Girls
Married... With Children (transl.: Eine Schrecklich Nette Familie)
The Flintstone
Jungle Book (the series, german only, transl.: Das Dschungelbuch)
... I guess that's enough. ^..^
The catch is of course, whether I can find a (decent sounding) instrumental version.
The rules:
You can vote for more than one show theme. Just comment with your favorite show titles (and +german or +english as preferred - or thy any other language. I might give it a try. ;3)
If some themes are tied, I get to choose which one I will sing on the of the songs that got equal voting.
If a theme has more than one different role/voice, and you can sing, you can join in. :D

"Easier listening"
Posted 5 years agoHi beautiful furs.
I've decided to adjust the loudness levels of my songs. The reason is that you'll should have a slightly more pleasant experience listening through my gallery.
And I chose -14 LUFS (average absolute, dB-like loudness units below clipping point - hope that's roughly correct).
That number is used also by Youtube and Spotify and every upload gets reduced (if bove) to that level automatically there - hence you should have it more convenient not handling speakers volume all the time, or at least a few times less, if other musicians would adopt a similar strategy.
-14 LUFS also allows for more dynamic range - especially useful for more acoustic stuff - stage performances or for example musical-pieces recorded and mixed in the way.
For now, I have adapted all the songs in my gallery since I've started my Sunday Singalongs... I'll be working on it furthermore in the future.

(my personal insight I gained today.)I'm alive
Posted 5 years agoHi guys.
I just wanted you to know that I'm still alive and physically well and healthy. Mentally... that's another story.
I'm sorry for not keeping my Sunday Singalong schedule for what seems to be a month now. I'll try to catch up and upload two songs now each Sunday if I can manage. If not ... I'll try to come up with something. I'll nevertheless try to keep up the quality and maybe revert to some songs that are abit easier for me to save some time.
Wish me luck and keep your ears pricked. Hear ya soon. Orlando out.

ROCKtober singalongs?
Posted 5 years agoHello fuzzy people,
I just had a last minute idea for my singalong series during October.
I think the title says it already, but let me elaborate a little.
Since a significant amount of my entries so far seem to reside in the 60s or 70s Beatles era and my current queue doesn't help that much, I suggest to fill the four sundays of October with somewhat heavier (and some softer) Rock songs.
I'd kick things off with a bang: Tenacious D - Kickapoo !
Is there anyone here avid for this "rock(y) road" treat or would you rather hear me do the songs currently in my queue?
In November / LOVEmber, songs will get calm and sweet anyway.
My regular schedule/queue would then continue in December. (Sorry,
Wolfian18. I know you wanna hear me do that Zombies song, soon :-/ )

As you might have guessed by the title, I'm planning a little special for upcoming November for my Singalong Sunday.
And the topic is love songs. Love songs of various genres.
My first entry (which doesn't necessarily have to be the first one I'll sing) is
Let Love Rule by Lenny Kravitz.
And the genre is Soul / Soft Rock, a genre I haven't touched on FA so far.
So let's go - please show me your favorite love songs of all time or just a great love song that you've heard lately and I'll see and might give it a try.
Come on - we have 5(!) Sundays in LOVEmber so I've 4 slots to fill!
Edit:
Okay, I leave the last slot of LOVEmber open until a few days before. And since I have so much delay and I'm catching up slowly, that date will not be before beginning or mid December. So there is still time for a love-song suggestion.
Also you can come up dor maybe a christmassy suggestion for december.

Posted 5 years agoHi guys. I'm busy this weekend. I've got a sleepover guest and I'm fursuiting, shooting a video and whatnot.
So my weekly Singalong with either happen on Monday or I gotta skip it for this week.
I'll try my best but I can't promise anything right now.
And I changed my song choice to something that I know better.
I wish y'all a nice weekend.
Orlando out!

New furry-musicians-workshop?
Posted 5 years agoHi guys,
I had an idea for my 3rd workshop (and also an older idea, too) and I'd wanna know if you guys are interested. (over on
recording-furs)
My idea is to share with you my vocal-warmup-routine, and generally how to prepare best for a vocal recording.
Warming up for singing can be really helpful, especially when studio-time is at stake, because it's quite expensive.
But even when recording at home it can be very fruitful and help you nail down your vocals faster and more precise.
It's also very important for auditions or live-events when you have to sing everything spot-on.
You will also strain your voice less and advance a tad faster at improving your voice.
A second, older idea for another workshop would be considerations for equipment when you are first starting out recording with microphones, mixed with my own personal experiences.
So, whaddaya think?

Posted 5 years agoHi fellow furries
I know, at no point since I joined here i was doing anything of a regular thing.
I'm trying to change that now. Although I'm still engaged in different stuff in my life, many of which not having anything to do with furries, I'll try to establish some kind of structure, a little homebase.
I hereby declare:
SINGALONG SUNDAY
Every Sunday I will do a karaoke cover, like my these latest uploads (2 of them in my Scraps). I will also take suggestions here in these journals or in submission comments (if I like them). Otherwise I will do my own thing and see it as an exercise to improve my existing music repertoire.
I will try to upload every Sunday morning. I hope this will keep me a little more engaged around here (and you, my listeners, as well).
So please, if you have song suggestions/requests, you can put them right here.
My taste is quite wide-spread, so if you're not sure whether I'll like it, just give it a go.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Bye for now

What is NEW since today, since most of my audience/watchers here speaks mainly english, I added english (and german) subtitles now.
I hope you enjoy it (even more now).

The internet is powerful - and so is social media.
And it has the power to enrich, but also ruin peoples lives, or does it?
No. WE have!
There is one sentence, that Jon Ronson uttered, which I can not agree more with:
"Twitter is basically a mutual approval machine"
I say Social Media is generally (as mostly an external observer). Not always of course, but when it is it brings out the worst in us.
misunderstanding -leads-to> hatred of a few -> mass hatred, mobbing, sometimes death threats -> social exclusion/ruin, getting fired -> depressions, anxiety, financial crises -> ...
There is a variety of reasons and consequences. The list above is just a generic sample.
TODAY we learn how momentous and harmful fake news can be, when they are passed on unchecked and actually very much behave like the dreaded virus itself, that we, the people of earth, are fighting against. Such irony.
Some of this misinformation is fortunately getting easier to spot, as it's lies can not keep up with our very dynamic reality.
Unfortunately it leads to wrong or delayed reactions that may cost many... many lives.
PLEASE be aware that it is also IN YOUR HANDS to break these chains of misinformation. I prompt everyone to take their part of the responsibility and to take it seriously.
And do not forget or lose humor. That is also vital to stay sane.
That is all for now.

A arts site purely for furry music?
Posted 5 years agoSince music is a little underappreciated here and rather heavily drowned out by visual art - not to speak of other furry art sites, wouldn't it be great if we could create such a platform?
I mean instead of the 10th furry art site or the 25th furry social network homepage we could for a change make something great that truly benefits a subgroup like ours and where musicians, songwriters, lyricists can really get into focus, get more appreciation and feedback and where music enthusiasts can listen to furry music all day long - with a full-fledged, integrated music player, such as on Soundcloud?
Or is there something like this out there?
Or would you even deem it necessary?
I know I would like it.

Posted 6 years agoHey guys.
I've made myself a Weasyl-Account, because I wanna explore it and see what the music scene is like over there.
If you also have an active account over there, please drop me a shout or follow or whatnot, however you fell like.

I'm now there, soooo...
Any opinions or experiences about Weasyl that you'd like to share?
Or do you really fancy another (furry-)art-gallerysocial-NW-website-thing over Weasyl?

Posted 6 years agoHey everyone.
Since I've had some milestones reached and anniversaries celebrated here lately, I thought it's also time to thank all of you guys out there for you patronage - be it watching the little art and photographs I upload, or listening to my songs and song snippets.
It really makes me happy, when you enjoy some of my songs or even give me feedback, be it advice or critique or just a simple opinion. That means a lot to me.
I gave my music uploads also a new sorting (by vocals-style / instrumental-music) because I want you to find the stuff that interests you in my gallery.
A question in this regard: What additional categories would you like to see in my gallery?
Music genres, maybe? I've tried that once and it became very messy. Do you know a way to do this efficiently?10 years of being a furry
Posted 6 years agoWow. This month is full of big anniversaries!
As you might see on my FA profile, TODAY it's been 10 years since I joined FA, which I also consider the moment I became a furry! Whatever that means to you.
At least at that moment I realized that I AM (a) furry by discovering all your wonderful art and by experiencing quite a warm welcome around here which gave me the comfy feeling of finding a new home, a new place to stay, have fun and meet nice, interesting peepl.
Becoming a furry changed my life a lot as you might read in my special thanks below. But one thing I know for sure. If I hadn't realized my furriness I would never have joined the organisation Furries For Kids. Working in charity gave my life 100% more meaning - truly. And all the guys there are great!
So yea. I enjoyed very much sharing art and music with you as well as watching yours!
And even if this place and my general perception of furries have changed and widened in variety - sometimes for the good, sometimes for the bad - over the years, I never ever regretted becoming a furry. Never was and never will! I simply couldn not.
I hope you will alll have a wonderful day. I am sure I will.
Yours truly - Orlando S.

I hope you will alll have a wonderful day. I am sure I will.
Yours truly - Orlando S.
Thank you all, but especially...
Special thanks to
TheCaptainFoxx who made my first days on here into an adventure and giving me such nice gift art. I can't put in words how much that made me happy back then.
Also special thanks to
Jariswolf,
Rhodrick and
Shywolf42 for meeting me at home for the first time as a furry, for sharing the experience of my/our first furmeets, first furry convention and of course for the long, harmonic and ongoing friendship!
Also special thanks to
Dabs for introducing and luring me into writing music! Who knows what I'd do now without setting a pencil/mouse cursor on that empty music score back then.
And special thanks to
DragoMike! I don't think I would have found here at all without these awesome artworks and stories of this huge, green, blubbery sweet-draggy
You guys will always have a special place in my heart!!
And all the guys who I couldn't mention here who went along with me, making music with me together and whatnot - for all that time - you know you're awesome!!! Thank youuu!! *hugs*
