VDAM Testing
Posted a year agoCorporal Carraway traced her fingers through the glowing lights of augmented reality. The display before her shifted, revealing every lick of data they had on Model 101-XX: VDAM. VDAM was a prototype aeromorphion, constructed specifically to counter the infestation's menace. They were about to conduct a final test, to see if VDAM was battle-ready.
"Her stats all look clear," Carraway twiddled, then dismissed the HUD with a flick of her wrist. Her sharp canine ears twitched: she heard the sound of the aero's engine thrumming. That baby had a lotta horsepower to go with the firepower, which brought a smile to her little muzzle whenever she heard the aero-woman rev up.
Yeah, VDAM was a fully sapient synthetic, because nowadays even washing machines are smart. And y’know, can’t leave everything up to some guy in a basement tugging a joystick.
"...Let 'er at 'em." The Corporal clasped her hands behind her back as she gazed towards the sky. It was beautiful, but artificial; they were really standing in a bunker deep beneath the earth, the smell of mildew thankfully masked by AR. It was one of the last places to go in the wake of the infestation, but enough of that. Let's see what she's got.

Before the sound even reached Carraway's ears, VDAM ripped through the air. The aeromorph was a gray blur, a howling winged shape that soared in the distance. The artificial environment had tree cover, so Carraway made it transparent with a wave of her hand. A wireframe grid loomed beneath the diving synthetic soldier, who already spotted her mark.
"Target acquired," VDAM assured over comms, and this delighted Carraway to hear. Even better was the hiss of VDAM's weapon bay opening right up... It was a genital slit, which let a large black cannon of a cock flop free. The length reached full stiffness with a quickness, as it emitted a prefire laser. The filament of light locked onto an absolutely vile creature... One of the infestors.
None were quite alike, because it was a rapidly-evolving strain. But they were all spiky, scaly, toothy. This one was only partly turned, so it still had the shape of a person, but no other resemblance. The thing lurched around on all fours bereft of reason, it lugged around a pendulous cock and balls to go with heaving breasts, which were all overflowing reservoirs of infestation. It seemed to suss out that there was a threat, because its claws dug into the ground. Then it ended up in the crosshairs of the emission of light.
But the corporal wanted a better POV of the action.
Carraway shifted her azure eyes around in her sockets, and now she saw out of the infestor's gaze. Fancy thing, augmented reality; they had this dumb monster bugged with every kinda sensor. So, at this moment, Carraway could feel every one of this creature's senses as her own. Not that it was pleasant... Everything was sticky, slimy. Bitterness on that tongue. These ears were swimming in noise and slime. These eyes were blurry beneath some kind of ichor. And now the whole body seized up, enveloped by light and… Pleasure?
So, normally if you were hit by the prefire emission, your hairs would stand on end and cling together like plastic wrap. You’d taste batteries on your tongue. Feel like ants crawling up your body. The air would feel heavy, and you'd hear crackling noise. Tingles would surge up your spine, as a static charge builds in your body. That's because your ass is getting bombarded by ions carried on a ray of light. Carraway, in the infestor’s body, felt all of this. But it also felt damn good, fuzzy, warm, tingly. This was because every inch of the infestor’s form was erogenous.
Now, you ought to know that the infestation targets the nerves, just like rabies or cold sores. But not quite. It also fucks with the proteins of your nerve endings and folds 'em all into pleasure receptors. That means you're stuck with a buncha horny fuck-zombies that can mutate damn quickly, because it's a rapidly-evolving strain, after all.
‘We’re in,’ Carraway thought, as the body stiffened up. The infestor’s muscles locked with spasms. Its body trembled, then trembles became convulsions. Outright squirming, gurgling, howling as it spewed its fluids all over the holo-grass. The dumb thing was paralyzed by alternating current. Nerves went haywire and eyes rolled back.
Carraway struggled to hold on, because she felt every spasm as her own. The sensors were freaking out. Everything was awash in a white glow. But things held together long enough for a second ejaculation of energy to cut a path across the ground, rapidly converging onto the infestor.
‘Here it comes…’
Carraway, as the infestor, darted eyes towards the second light, but they could barely see. Yet they felt it, heard it.
SCHOOOOM!
The second stream of light traced arcs across the periphery of their body, starting with the legs. The light danced back and forth, nipping at claws then toes, vaporizing them. A grid of lights formed across the infestor’s body as it was being disintegrated. Imagine a 3D printer working in reverse, dematerializing tiny slices of infestor, which dispersed as vapor. These particles were examined in real time by VDAM’s onboard array, uploading bits of data on this creature’s strain of infestation.
Both watched; the infestor, terrified, while the corporal was pleased. Everything below the knees was dissolved, too quickly to be properly felt. But the edges of fresh stumps lit up with a burning pleasure. The whole body was awash in tingly sensation. The infestor tried to crawl away, but soon even the arms were evaporated by the powerful laser. The thing’s head hit the ground with a THUMP.
The creature twitched, managed to roll over. It now gazed, blurry, up to the sky, as little more than a head with a rapidly dissolving torso. Thoughts too dim to contemplate its fate, it stared up at the gray blur and screeched. Carraway, meanwhile, took a moment to appreciate VDAM’s grace.
A third light tore through the air, and this one outright annihilated. Everything went white, then black, as the white hot spray of energy exploded the infestor with sizzling plasma.
FWOOOSH!
SIGNAL LOST.
Carraway loved reading those two words. Then in a blink, she was back in her own body. She muttered, after taking a moment to reel from the experience.
“…She’s ready.”
Then, Carraway smirked. “Let’s get her topped up before we head to the field. I’m sure we have plenty of infestor ‘biofuel’…”

Small little harder area that spawns these two critters and zombified purple ants (warrior ants with bio damage absorption so they sync with the mushroom dryads' aoe bio damage)
It will probably just be one screen / area for funsies.

Small Game Update
Posted a year agoI've fixed up all the Xenospermia sprites, should work now. This solution should hold for several weeks if not indefinitely, doubt I will need a new image host. Anyway, I apologize if there's any broken links (there shouldn't be any, I double-checked). As I was halfway in the middle of an update there might be some untidy stuff and half-baked changes, this was an emergency hotfix so I had to push it through and couldn't really comb through it too hard.
I'll see about having a Slime Dungeon fix within a few days, sorry but my knees hurt and I've been wake for like 18-something hours lol

Discord Links PSA
Posted a year agoJust today, Discord changed the URLs for all of their images, even images older than Feb 1st of this year. Previously those images had simpler links like https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachme.....26/che1gun.png ... Now they have this expanded notation https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachme.....dba2765ca3&
However, obviously if you linked to an image that used the older, simpler notation, that link is now broken. You'll see the same error as my first link there. In the app/site, there's no issue because clicking and opening those images simply displays them with their updated notation. However! If you see any links in the wild IE someone posting on reddit and linking to discord, then that link is now broken (since obviously it didn't automatically update to the new URL unlike the stuff in the app)
This is somewhat similar to the imgur purge in that many links and such are now 'lost media' and we have been anticipating this change for a few months. In the interim this broke a few of my pages, but given I anticipated it, I have some redundant copies and redirects around which I'll be slotting in over the next few days. Apologies for any inconvenience. Tonight I will be uploading a hotfix of Xenospermia and I'll try to hotfix Slime Dungeon ASAP. Hit me up if you see any broken links, I can update them in a jiffy

Plans for Feb to March 1st
Posted a year agoI'm going to rework a few things under the hood. Specifically I want to transition towards support for custom charry sprites. I appreciate folks that were able to send their support, I'm at the threshold where I'm confident in pursuing a custom character sprite set since it'd cost a chunk of change. But I think it can happen within a month or two if I really get into the weeds of it. We have a few artists that are interested in fulfilling the idea but it'll need some concepts/follow through for a bit.
I am seeing that people are really interested in the merging kinda mechanics/direction and as I said earlier, it was always definitely a goal but it took me a bit to work out the mechanics/concept and test it (A LOT). Nobody's really done this sort of in-battle sorta merging mechanic before so it was hard not having a guideline/source to draw the mechanics from. I've tested it for hours but of course there's still a few janky edge-cases that crop up; those will be fixed and I have a lot of concepts in mind for different merge types/mechanics, fret not!
The nature of the changes I'm going to try to implement will be kind of 'invisible' / QoL but here's my goals:
Sprite animation modules - Add 'tags' to each ability basically so the game automatically plays the right animation based on the tag associated with the ability, rather than having to specify what animation each ability ever uses. Very feasible/realistic
^ This would also let me create a more advanced AI system later
Enemy prompt/command/action rework - You know how you have to click through each enemy's attack? I might be able to add a setting to just 'autoclick' for you. It's theoretically possible but it makes me a bit nervous since I don't wanna promise overly much, but I might be able to pull it off without having to make a duplicate AI module for each enemy basically. Maybe not this update but it's in consideration
Paper doll custom sprite - My earlier tests worked and were stable. So I'm thinking I can allow customization of a character as a 'paper doll' style thingy, split up into limbs/appendages. IF this is possible then I might be able to alter sprites with transformations on the fly or other weird stuff. TFs in that style might be too much work for each possibility so I think I'd rather just have distinct half-tf sprites or whatever, but paper doll method would allow the max charry customization if it works. Will see what I can do
I also just wanna spend some time writing up endings and content and whatnot. Consolidate what's already there and all.

I've been tweaking some stuff under the hood to support a possible expansion/spinoff. Essentially I can change a setting and it'll use different equipment/items/damage types/sprites/etc. while still 'in' the Xenospermia game and using the same engine, really.

This would be way more text-based but support a sprite which can change appearance based on the player's transformation progress and so on, you feel me? Thinking modern theme, bit simpler gameplay/less stuff going on with more of a wordy focus. Maybe something of a Silent Hill or Resident evil vibe. The ferals might be regular animals or 'creatures' or horror-derived, merging focus like the other Zoonotic Fusion/CorgiCommander stuff!

Posted 2 years agoI’ve done a couple dozen bugfixes at least, buncha smaller tweaks/quality of life improvements, added a new character (Rane), three new encounters will also be available (ant variant 3, termite, and a slimehound variant which can show off the new merging feature/mechanic)
I might be able to squeeze in some more stuff like new events, new loss scenes writings or an extra encounter, will need to see!

When a merge succeeds, the victim's sprite is hidden, etc. They are considered KO/incapacitated for all purposes. Most abilities cannot target them and those that can have their damage/healing split amongst merge victim and host, and buffs/debuffs mirrored onto host and victim.
By default, a merge victim cannot do anything besides pass its turns. Let's call it mass/undifferentiated mass as the body part. Any text on their turn might say '$name wobbled' or 'the mass stirred'. This might or might not key into the idea of sentient fat. Not sure whether I wanna lean into that or just make it as generic/plain as possible.
Maybe the avatar will be a close-up/mid-section shot of the pred/host.

Anyway! In almost all cases, the merge's success will also apply a buff onto the pred. The buff is usually indefinite. The buff keys onto the victim's body part status, so if the victim is to become a cock, the pred will get 'bigdicked' as the status effect. If the status effect is removed or cured from the pred, the victim will revert to being 'undifferentiated mass'

While keyed to a body part, the pred gets some perk based on the new body part they have. So for twoheaded, they will get 1.5x Psi Power! Based on the body part, the victim will have different abilities at their disposal. How this works is that on the prey's turn, it checks if they're merged. Then, it refers to the pred via state variables and checks to see which body part the pred has ie bigdicked or twoheaded. This will tell the mass what part they're supposed to act as. When a merge succeeds, the victim's sprite is hidden, etc. They are considered KO/incapacitated for all purposes. Most abilities cannot target them and those that can have their damage/healing split amongst merge victim and host, and buffs/debuffs mirrored onto host and victim.
By default, a merge victim cannot do anything besides pass its turns. Let's call it mass/undifferentiated mass as the body part. Any text on their turn might say '$name wobbled' or 'the mass stirred'. This might or might not key into the idea of sentient fat. Not sure whether I wanna lean into that or just make it as generic/plain as possible.
Maybe the avatar will be a close-up/mid-section shot of the pred/host.

Anyway! In almost all cases, the merge's success will also apply a buff onto the pred. The buff is usually indefinite. The buff keys onto the victim's body part status, so if the victim is to become a cock, the pred will get 'bigdicked' as the status effect. If the status effect is removed or cured from the pred, the victim will revert to being 'undifferentiated mass'

While keyed to a body part, the pred gets some perk based on the new body part they have. So for twoheaded, they will get 1.5x Psi Power! Based on the body part, the victim will have different abilities at their disposal. How this works is that on the prey's turn, it checks if they're merged. Then, it refers to the pred via state variables and checks to see which body part the pred has ie bigdicked or twoheaded. This will tell the mass what part they're supposed to act as. Posted 2 years agoI'm a bit drowsy and I still needed to write the vore text for the encounter, I didn't wanna just half-bake it so I'm gonna postpone it a couple days. I have however tweaked some existing sprite stuff and done a variety of misc. changes (such as more color tints and effects when buffs are applied and so on)!

What I've learned about writing this year (2023)

I think it's really important to be critical and introspective with regards to your own work, so I think I'll need to 'be real' here for a second and try to look at my own stuff objectively. Partly because writing it out makes me actually grapple with it (rubber ducky method) but also because it might help you with your own writing endeavors!
So the beginning of 2023 was rough for me since I had a lot of setbacks like kidney stones that December before it, so I was dooming about whether I'd ever be able to get back on the writing bandwagon again ('you fell off' lmao). However, I managed to muster up the nerve (with Gargi's encouragement) to begin writing again. The first story I wrote for the year was actually a story to finally go with that giraffe x fennec gym merging thing :3 (Ill Gotten Gains) https://www.furaffinity.net/view/50460425/
So, I opened up a few comms and wrote up Ethan's Escapism https://www.furaffinity.net/view/50481386/ as the first of the batch! It was the second UDTF thing I did and it was a nice opportunity to work on UDTF again, which has sort of become very familiar to me by now >:3 The story was neat and I finally got to try how it works out when your penis forms into a head, really surreal to think about! I was pleased by how it came out, maybe it leans a bit too much into 'overexplaining' the details but it felt like it came out pretty naturally to write.
I then wrote Eternal Ejaculation https://www.furaffinity.net/view/50560271/ which was a 'CTF' that involved turning into a bunch of cocks (a cock-monster, if you were). I was quite pleased with the results and thought it came out really fancy and fluid. The piece has a real cool aesthetic and it was quite well-received, I thank Ember for giving me the 'artistic freedom' to accomplish it.

I was quite driven by the idea of a partial CTF that turns out badly, so I got carried away with the length! I was pleased with the level of characterization I managed to impart as well as pleased with Clarita's level of intensity! Chelsea's Offer https://www.furaffinity.net/view/50789959/ in my opinion, came out very well! I think I kinda pushed the boundaries of the amount of detail I could squeeze into a CTF and it really hit all the notes. Like if I were to write a 'maxed out' CTF, I can't really imagine it coming out much better than that. Plus demons are fun!
The Week After https://www.furaffinity.net/view/50812328/ This was a really big (20k word) project for Corgi Commander and I managed to squeeze a bunch of unique takes on the usual animal merge stuff. I admit it's kinda rough around the edges and I feel at that length I could've done a better job with characterization and so on, but still! Novel-length Flag work, woo! Corgi also gave me the chance to portray the scenario from the animal POV so that was really intriguing too! There were some challenging action-oriented parts which were interesting to try, but I feel like overdescribing stuff kinda hindered some of the pacing.
The Bee's Knees https://www.furaffinity.net/view/50963721/ Anal vore story but admittedly the vore's kinda short! Still, it was neat to try a more vore-oriented piece, and I got to have fun with the humor. It's maybe one of my weaker works but a vore story rounds things out quite well!
Bad End Anthology 2 & the Curse of the Cerberus https://www.furaffinity.net/view/50995217/ There were a lot of stories in the anthology but I think Curse of the Cerberus might've been the most popular one that round. It's a short work but I felt it was punchy and UDTF is neat! Really though I don't think faves alone are really indicative of a work's quality, faves in my opinion are more a factor of search terms + popularity of the kink.

I can't really think of more detail I could squeeze into it, and some parts of the story had a really nice flow to them! I really enjoy writing plant TFs and wrote a bunch for Xenospermia, so it was nice to apply those ideas to this story >:3
General thoughts so far:
Some of the works suffer from 'overexplaining' at the expense of pacing. I think maybe dumping all the details of the characters into the opening paragraphs is also a bit much but it's kind of a guilty pleasure for me. Still, I think it's probably unnecessary to describe characters overly much since it's hard to retain that much info as you keep reading.
I could stand to put more effort into characterization maybe, some characterizations were quite good but others were a little lacking.
These older works had points where the flow was weak. I've been focusing more on smoother flow for the writing (as in being particular about which details are placed first and where), which especially helps in intros since there's a lot to say at once.
Sometimes endings are weak which can be attributed to me being tired by the end lol.
Trying to keep mindful of thoughts/inner world type stuff to sprinkle in a decent amount of that aside from what's happening physically

Question about how to post a two-part story
Posted 2 years agoIt's a long one and I need something to post on Friday so I want to post the first part! Also need time to write the rest lmao
So would you rather the second part (the next friday) be posted as just the second part + some context intro paragraph? Or just repost both parts as 1 story for that day? Mind you FA would cut off anything after ~13k words

Posted 2 years agoDidn't wanna jinx myself but since I've been pulling it off the last few weeks, I will now be aiming for a large story upload (5k+ word) each week (Friday). This is hard as my full-time job has no set schedule but I'll try to at least stack up a couple backlog stories lol (Today's upload will be at maybe 5 pm EST)
I'll resolve to finish the like 1 remaining story in queue and work on the free story requests
Going to also, y'know. Try to fulfill my Patreon obligations and do the story poll stuff I kinda owe a lot of by now. Will be tying up some loose ends by the end of the month (story-comm-freebie-wise) and probably pivot back to game stuff 2024
I've stabilized my finances so I don't really expect another opening of comms any time soon. Here's what I did:
This summer, I emptied out a storage which was costing nearly $200 a month
Last month, I paid off a debt that was costing about $130 a month
In a couple months, my car will be paid off
Weather permitting, in spring, I will be flying up north to empty out my last storage, which is costing about $230 a month
Once that's all sorted out, I'm probably just moving out of my current place for somewhere cheaper
