A change...
Posted 12 years agoWell, as a few people may have been aware i've been looking at making some changes.
One of the first things is a new fursona, after several years I've decided that a husky just isn't my personality anymore... So after much debating and discussions with several people i've decided on a "red" well... blue panda.
The character's name and my fursona's new name is "Orokana" which in Japanese means "silly" which is a bit like my personality. So for the people on my watch list, I'll be watching you on my new account over the coming days. I'll still happily respond to both names but Orokana is my preffered name now.

Posted 12 years agoWell, after several years of being around in the furry fandom... I've decided it's time for a change. So keep an eye out on this journal over the coming week or 2... as part of this change though, I was wondering if anyone in my watch list might be up for possibly doing an icon up for me and possibly a picture reference. I'll go into details over private message about it, but basically I kind of feel like a name change and a species change is in order... I just don't really feel that much of a connection with my husky character these days...

A few updates
Posted 12 years agoWell, I havn't posted an update in a while... so I guess it's about time.
First things first, if I've spoken to you in the last few days, you probably would notice I havn't been my usual cheery self. As of this Sunday after working for 1.5 years for a company they have pretty much decided to spit me out as soon as the busy period is over. I can't help but feel a little bit used by them. I finished my Cert 3 in tourism with them in October which is 3 months before the "peak" season for them... and the day after the holidays were over they gave me my 2 weeks notice... saying my contract was up when it actually was over 3 months ago. Everyone including the supervisors were under the impression I was a permanent employee now.
So this has left me in a bit of a slum, not even sure if I'll be able to afford things like FurDU or RivFUR now.
On another note though, I've decided that a sea-change could be on the cards in the next while. I'm looking at moving down to Sydney to pursue my career in tourism in the next 6 months to a year... Just kind of over Brisbane in general right now.
So if I see you in the next little while, I could be a little emotional / snappy. I do apologise in advance for it, and I am going to need LOTS of chocolate and hugs... And for the people that know me well enough, you know i'm a fighter... I'll make it out of this better than ever, but I kinda feel like I just need a shoulder to cry on.

and his fiancé Aimee to my work (Movie World) for the day as they are visiting. I was a bit nervous, never having met them in person until today... But they are both the kindest, most amazing people ever. We managed to get on a heap of rides throughout the day...and Tal even went on his very first roller coaster!
I am heading back down to there hotel to hang for the night, and honestly...after today, I will say that I have made 2 friends for life. Both of them are perfect for each other and I sincerely wish all the best for there lives together...
Also...Tal thought it was appropriate to get a dog tag for me that says
"Flicker, Nomsune Prey" and "Bathusky" as it's a batman one...so I guess I am claimed as food now xD. And I think a trip to Adelaide will be in order soon so I can go visit!

Best Christmas day ever!!!
Posted 14 years agoWell... as some of you may or may not be aware, my boyfriend had a car crash earlier in the week (He's fine though, don't worry about that) and he has been feeling a bit down in the dumps...
...So I decided that i'd round up my funds and inform him today that he would be having a guest on christmas night and boxing day... I've just gone and spent 200 dollars (leaving me with 300 to last a fortnight... but totally worth it!) to just spend 24 hours with him to cheer him up.
I know it's alot of money, but for someone that means as much to me as he does... I think it's TOTALLY worth it!
Compared to last christmas which was a heartache and so much more crap to say the least... I can just say... BRING ON 2012!!! I can't wait to be in his arms on Sunday <3<3<3

Posted 14 years agoHey guys, just feel as though I need to finally vent about something that happened earlier today. I'm a bit of a wreck and it will probably take some time to heal emotionally and physically.
At around 4:25am this morning, I was walking to the train station on the way to work for an early morning shift. I was around 900m from home and there was a taxi sitting at the bus stop. A man in his early 20's was walking across the pedestrian crossing and was about to get in the cab with his friend. He saw me round the corner and said that he was going to "walk home" instead. He then approached me and pushed me against a fence and demanded money off me (which I didn't have any of) and started to hit me in the face.
After around 8 or 9 swings to the face, he then threw a can of some alcoholic beverage at my face and jumped in the taxi. After asking the Taxi driver to call for help, the other passenger in the car yelled out "as if we would help you!" and the cab then drove off! I stumbled back around the corner away from the main street in case they came back and called my parents for help. I have a concussion, bruises to the face and swelling around my eyes, nose and lips along with several cuts and chipped teeth.
After being picked up, covered in blood I went down to the police station and then went to the hospital to get medical advice. I'm going back to the station to file an official complaint and going through all the legal mumbo jumbo. I'm hoping they can track the taxi down and at least look at the surveillance cameras and identify the mongrels that did this to me.
While the injuries are only minor, the emotional scarring is what will take a long time to heal. So if i'm a bit edgy for the next couple of weeks I apologize in advance. I may upload a picture later on to FA... depending how I feel but if you really want to see the extent of my injuries just click the link at the bottom of the journal.

I'm trying to find any way possible to get down to Canberra this week to see my grandfather in hospital. I've been told he probably won't last the weekend, and with next to no funds in my savings account i'm going to try and get a loan or whatever just to get enough for the plane tickets.
That and I think I just need to get away for a bit to clear my head, and this was meant to be a good week with me starting my new job on Thursday! Well... that could be pushed back a few weeks!

Posted 15 years agoHey guys, one of my dearest friends is doing an iron artist to raise some money to pay bills. She needs to get 400 dollars in 2 weeks.
Flat colours are $10! Shaded colours are $15! I will try anything you want for a decent price! These are especially low till all slots are full! How many slots you ask?
There are 20 slots! New ones will open once I finish the artwork for 1. This will keep going until I reach my goal of $400. I have 2 weeks to do this in, so please help her to achieve this!
