So what's been up?

We signed on a new house today, finally. The new Chez Fluff is . It should be pretty great.

I pretty much disappeared from existence for a long time because I've done nothing of late but work (two 75+ hour weeks last week) and drive to and from house viewings. The end of the journey is really rewarding, though I'm glad that it's over. Want to get back to talking to all of you cool people instead of just being all HERPDERP RUNNING AROUND all the time.

I have a wonderful new boyfriend who means more to me than I think he actually knows. This is the kind of thing I don't like to talk about around here so much, but I couldn't be happier about it.

There's plenty of other stuff going on, but it's not really important for this journal. The crux of this is "I'm trying to be around more now that I'm not completely consumed (murr), but I can't promise anything. Anyone going to RF or MFF? I'll see you there. :)

So I'm headed out to AC tomorrow night. Fly out of San Francisco, layover in New Jersey at Buttass:45, get to AC at 10:00am Thursday.

Shortest con journal ever?

Just letting the peeps watching that I'll be almost entirely offline this week. I have a lot of stuff to catch up on and handle, so hopefully I'll see people Sunday and be all shiny and awesome.

Creative subject line, no?

Just a quick note to let people know that I'm going to start trying to actually do things for real now. Got the new job (which is really just an old job with new paint), and after I catch up on sleep after a bunch of stupid days this week, I should be back to my normal perky self.

Another note, I've now finally gotten everything worked out for Furry Weekend Atlanta. Anyone gonna be there?

So, I went to Chicago for MFF, as you may not have known because I never said anything ever. It was pretty much awesome, aside from some totally extraneous bullshit that was entirely separate from the con.

Thursday night, I flew in (to Midway; protip, if you're going to MFF, even if you have a free plane ticket, fly into O'Hare. It saves three hours on both ends) and met up with the rest of the room:

Both of the ones I hadn't met before were instantly impressive, and it was definitely the best "random roommate" arrangement I've had in any situation. Soooo that was cool. Then registration lost my, uh, registration, so that took forever. Then we got TK's fursuit from , and antics were had. I'm sure there will be lots of pictures.

Friday, I attended 's panel, watched and Kage perform at night, then ate Real Chicago Pizza (in Chicago!). More antics. That night, we had a Styx and Michael Jackson room party. Hee-hee!

Saturday, fursuit parade, in which I got no decent pictures, a really epic 30-plays-in-60-minutes furry improv show, 's excellent concert (which was unfortunately shortened by the HORRIBAD variety show), dances, the Kage/2 Charity Battle, more antics. No Styx room party.

Sunday, woke up too late, went to the fursuit games, grabbed crap (USEFUL THINGS) from the dealer's room, watched the closing ceremonies, more antics, then I went back to pack in the interim between stuff. That was when showed up and we talked for four and a half hours and didn't go to sleep. But that was super-okay too!

Monday, flew out. Super sleepy.

TL;DR: More events to do than are actually possible to do, hotel is super awesome, awesome people make awesome cons awesomer. Awesomely.

So, for the few people who watch me, I'm writing this journal to enter the "free fursuit head" contest being held by these two:

These puns are getting out of hand, but you know what,  wolfpuptk can't fine me for them anymore so mnehhhhh.

So, yeah, moved in; not really settled yet, but I am moved, at least. Have mass amounts of stuff to do by Tuesday, but I'll most likely just do it tomorrow. Tonight is time to settle in and blow things up in celebration!

In case anyone wonders, the household is now . I already love it more than my previous boring (and significantly less fluffy) apartment.

So, AC is over, and I've made it back. This is currently hour 37 of me having not really slept (aside from incidentally on the plane), so forgive me if none of this makes any sense.

Generally, the con was completely awesome. The jury is out as to whether or not FC was better; I felt more prepared for this one (going to FC was a day-of decision, as it is fifteen minutes away), but FC felt more united as a convention. The Westin and convention center are just a little bit too sprawling, and there was at least one person that I wanted to see ( doubleentendre) that I never even found.

I picked up some prints from Ursula Vernon and Diana Sprinkle, but didn't take out any commissions in part due to not having a refsheet. Didn't even hit the art show, because I didn't want to spend that kind of money. Maybe next year.

Spent some time with old friends and local friends, as well as meeting some cool new people: and, despite the fact that we live about fifteen minutes apart, , to name a few off the top of my head. If you were the guy who gave me the laundry list of music recommendations (or if you know who did), let me know, because I've forgotten your name and want to watch you; if you know how to find a fennec who goes by Aegis, let me know that too.

All in all, I feel a lot closer to specific people and the fandom in general (http://bit.ly/aYK5cJ), and a lot better about life overall. I don't really do post-con depression, just post-con do-everything-ever. Once I write one last thing and get some sleep, get ready for some productivity finally.

So, tomorrow is the last day of the semester from hell, and I'm mostly done with everything. Completely done, if people aren't silly about things, which is unlikely, but I'll deal.

You'll probably be seeing (hearing) some music from me (or me and  eutroraccoon) soonish; maybe I'll try to write something else, I don't know. I definitely do have to start exercising that part of myself again though.
